Wscompile generating SOAPElement vs. Java class

Given this part of a wsdl file:
<xs:complexType name="structXyz">
   <xs:sequence minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="unbounded">
           <xs:element name="numberTelephone" nillable="false">
                      <xs:simpleType>
                                   <xs:restriction base="xs:string">
                                                 <xs:length value="10"/>
                                  </xs:restriction>
                      </xs:simpleType>
            </xs:element>
    </xs:sequence>
</xs:complexType>wscompile doesn't generate a Java classes as expected. Instead, I get just a holder class that uses javax.xml.soap.SOAPElement.
Removing the minOccurs and maxOccurs results in Java classes, but that's not an option since the wsdl is from a web site not under my control.
Is there an issue/problem with occurs attributes on a <sequence> element?

Actually, neither of your answers is correct.
TextBox.getClass() doesn't work because getClass() is not a static method (in my actual code, I don't want to instantiate a class just to get the Class reference).
TextBox.class is a proper class literal and should work (and does with CLDC1.1).
I just need help working around an apparent bug in NetBeans, JDK1.4, or WTK2.1 where it doesn't work when compiling for CLDC1.1.

  • Help! wscompile generates inconvertible type java code?

    Hi,
    I am trying to create client code from Google AdWords WSDLs. I have to specify -f:explicitcontext to generate source code for <wsdlsoap:header> tag.
    The generated source code has inconvertible types and cannot be compiled.
    The compile error:
    adwords_adgroup/ver_0_1/AdGroupInterface_Stub.java:1058: inconvertible types
    found : java.lang.Object
    required: long
    operations.value = (long)_headerObj;
    This is the command I run:
    wscompile -d build/classes -s build/src -gen -keep -f:explicitcontext config.xml
    This is config.xml:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>

  • Generate XSD from java class

    Hi all,

    I've never used it, but the Castor project also provides such a tool...at least that what it says in its FAQ:

  • Problems with data controls from java classes in JSF pages.

    Hi! We have a problem in our Application that we are developing with JSF pages using Data Controls generated from facades java classes. When we running a page in debug mode and the page are loading, if we insert a breakpoint in the first line of method referenced in the data control, the execution enter two times in the method, and this is a problem for us. How to solve this?
    We are using JDeveloper 11.1.1.2 with ADF faces.

    You might need to play around with the refresh property of the action binding.

  • Scope of java class used for building data control

    Hello,
    I have tried a sample application where in we are using Datacontrols to render the UI.
    The data control is generated off a simple java class(abc.java) which is used to render a "Page called - Employee". This java class then uses a session bean which in turn talks with the database entities. The database entities(POJO's - employee.java) are then exposed in the abc.java and used to display data on the UI such as employee name, id , etc.
    My question is regarding the scope of abc.java. I presume, that the constructor of this class will be called when the page is rendered.
    Now say i am navigating from some Page-A to Page-Employee. On click of a button in Page A, i want to go to the Database, retrieve a particular employee's details and then place it in the employee entity exposed in abc.java so that it gets displayed when Page-Employee is rendered.
    If the actionlistener method of the button click in Page A has the code of - 1)create new instance of abc - new abc() 2)retrieve employee entity 3) set employee entity in the class level attribute of abc
    But on going to the next page-employee, a new instance of abc is getting created and i am losing the employee that i had retrieved in the previous screen.
    Is there a scope for abc that can be set somewhere similar to managed beans? or is there some other solution.
    -thanks

    Hi,
    Say, on an 'employee create page' we use data controls which are generated from a java class, 'EmployeeService'.
    This java class has the POJO(entity) - Employee whose attributes like name, description are used to create input text boxes on the employee page.
    Now, assume we come to the Employee create page from some other page in the application; where exactly is the best place to make an instance of the employee entity.
    Do we place- Employee emp = new Employee(); in the constructor of the EmployeeService.java class or is there some other way?
    Any pointers would help.
    Thanks

  • Does wscompile generate "fault" tag in WSDL file from Java exception class?

    I'm trying to generate WSDL files from Java classes. I defined some of my own exception that inherits from "RemoteException", but wscompile doesn't generate the corresponding complex type and "fault" tag. Does anyone know if this is a bug or wscompile doesn't support from Java Exception to fault?
    Thanks

    It will if the exceptions do not inherit from RemoteException.

  • SOAPElement instead Custom Java Class

    Hi all,
    I've a simple process that call a Partner Link (Adapter) to do a Select on DEPTIN table of Oracle Lite Database, i've a XSD structure like this :
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252" ?>
    <xsd:schema xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns="http://www.example.org"
    targetNamespace="http://www.example.org"
    elementFormDefault="qualified">
    <xsd:element name="Deptos" type="DeptosType" />
    <xsd:complexType name="DeptoType">
    <xsd:sequence>
    <xsd:element name="deptno" type="xsd:int"/>
    <xsd:element name="dname" type="xsd:string"/>
    <xsd:element name="loc" type="xsd:string"/>
    </xsd:sequence>
    </xsd:complexType>
    <xsd:complexType name="DeptosType">
    <xsd:sequence minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="unbounded">
    <xsd:element name="Depto" type="DeptoType"/>
    </xsd:sequence>
    </xsd:complexType>
    </xsd:schema>
    After Adapter called a Transform is done to my structure, it works fine.
    When i generate the Proxy in JDeveloper, the follow message appears on output:
    WARNING: OWS-00102 Mapped {http://www.example.org}DeptosType to javax.xml.soap.SOAPElement DeptosType. Reason for not creating a custom Java type: multiple occurrences are not supported.
    How to prevent its and generate Custom Java Type to its mapping?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi all,
    I've found the problem, it's on definition of DeptosType, the minOccurs and maxOccurs must be in element name="Depto" instead on sequence.
    <xsd:complexType name="DeptosType">
    <xsd:sequence>
    <xsd:element name="Depto" type="DeptoType" minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="unbounded"/>
    </xsd:sequence>
    </xsd:complexType>
    </xsd:schema>
    instead
    <xsd:complexType name="DeptosType">
    <xsd:sequence minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="unbounded">
    <xsd:element name="Depto" type="DeptoType"/>
    </xsd:sequence>
    </xsd:complexType>
    </xsd:schema>
    I haven't understood why its occurs, but in this way the proxy can generate custom Java Class.
    Does anybody knows?
    Best regards

  • Can I  load Java classes generated by the Web Service Proxy Wizard?

    Hi gurus,
    I am very new to Oracle JDeveloper and I have mainly used it to create and debug PL/SQL procedures. My client app is written in PowerBuilder 11 (Sybase), which claims that it will create a datawindow from a web service. Well, it turned out that PB can only handle simple stuff (it works with a very simple wsdl from the internet) but can't handle more complex ones that we need to use. So I am thinking about using JDev to create the web service proxy for the web service and then load it into Oracle as a Java stored procedure so that PowerBuilder can call the procedure. JDev succsfully generated the proxy and a few Java classes. My question is, do I need to load all the classes into the database? If yes, will the reference to the package work? For example, in a JDev generated class (the soap client class), it has package MyJdev.proxy; at the top. Or, will it work if I load all the classes included in package /MyJdev/proxy into the database?
    Thank you very much for any help.
    Ben

    Thanks again, Bruce.
    What I meant by SOAPElement is that one genereated Java class has this and this class also has the setter for this like this,
    public void setSelection(javax.xml.soap.SOAPElement selection) {
    this.selection = selection;
    And here is the whole class,
    public class CaseSearchByPartyRequest implements java.io.Serializable {
    protected java.lang.String schemaVersion;
    protected java.util.Calendar messageProducedDateTime;
    protected javax.xml.soap.SOAPElement selection;
    protected Restriction restriction;
    public CaseSearchByPartyRequest() {
    public java.lang.String getSchemaVersion() {
    return schemaVersion;
    public void setSchemaVersion(java.lang.String schemaVersion) {
    this.schemaVersion = schemaVersion;
    public java.util.Calendar getMessageProducedDateTime() {
    return messageProducedDateTime;
    public void setMessageProducedDateTime(java.util.Calendar messageProducedDateTime) {
    this.messageProducedDateTime = messageProducedDateTime;
    public javax.xml.soap.SOAPElement getSelection() {
    return selection;
    public void setSelection(javax.xml.soap.SOAPElement selection) {
    this.selection = selection;
    public Restriction getRestriction() {
    return restriction;
    public void setRestriction(Restriction restriction) {
    this.restriction = restriction;
    this.selection is the request that I think I need. And here is the static main method of the soap client class genereated.
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    try {
    MyJdev.proxy.SoapClient myPort = new MyJdev.proxy.SoapClient();
    System.out.println("calling " + myPort.getEndpoint());
    // Add your own code here
    } catch (Exception ex) {
    ex.printStackTrace();
    So, if I need to send the request to the web service, do I need to create the request, correct? I have done it through AQ and Messaging Gateway and works fine by manually creating the request xml in PL/SQL, but now I need to get it to work sychronously from the UI. I believe that I need the request (SOAPElement) because that is the only way that I can supply the parameters. I have not see any setters for the parameters other than some setters for user name and password.
    Did I get something wrong here? If I don't supply the "selection", will JDev do it?
    Thanks.

  • How to omit xmlns from generated Java classes

    Hi,
    I'm using JAXB and xjc to generate Java classes from xsd fils. I've noticed that when marshalling these Java classes to XML string, there are few xmlns attributes that (as far as I concern :-))
    "waste" space on the generated xml (space is critical resource in our application). Is there a way to order the Marashaller to omit these xmlns attributes from the generated files?

    If the xmlns is specified in the xsd, it is also required in the xml. If you do not want it, however you can remove it from your xsd and then generate your xml

  • WSDL generated from java class - how to include headers?

    I am using the servicegen ant task and generating a web service based on a java class. I would like to include a username and password in the soap header and read that info using a handler. I am able to get that working, but how do I get the auto-generated WSDL to include the username/password header information? Is there something that I have to do in the handler so that this information is included in the WSDL?

  • Generating database tables from Java classes

    Hi,
    I've encountered a number of tools which will create Java classes from database tables (e.g. JDeveloper has this functionality, Abator provides this for iBATIS, etc...).
    However, I've not been able to locate any tools that perform the opposite job - i.e. given a Java class, it generates a database table (or, presumably, some SQL).
    It's been suggested to me that Hibernate might provide this sort of capability, but if anybody has any experience of doing this, in any tool, I'd be interested to hear about it.
    Thanks,
    Alistair.

    Many thanks for the pointers.
    duffymo: I've taken a look at Middlegen (http://boss.bekk.no/boss/middlegen/index.html) but it seems that the first step is to specify the database schema, whereas I'm looking to generate the schema from existing code. Or have I missed something?

    Hi Marinel,
    The support for XSD import is limited on 10.1.2. If you can, you should consider moving to the 10.1.3 preview as the support for document style web services has improved. The other option will be to inline the schema in your WSDL.
