Wtk emulator external event generator problem

Hi all,
I am developing a peer to peer application that uses bluetooth to communicate, I tried setting the longitude and latitude in the external events generator to check if the devices would be in range, and I chose typical values 33S 18E, 32S 17E that would provide a distance > 100m meaning the devices would be out of range of one another, however they still are connecting and sending data to one another despite having set these co-ordinates.
I used the location API to check if the external events generator was working properly, and I can check via the midlet that it has indeed picked up the co-ordinates I have, therefore I am very confused as to why, the devices are still able to connect despite being out of range.
Could anyone please help me?
I am rather desperate as I am on a deadline.
Thank you in advance.

Did you check the WTK User Guide?
There is a chapter about using Location API describing location scripts. +"...Location scripts are XML files consisting of a list of locations, called waypoints, and associated times..."+
Also, there is a section describing CityGuide example - it mentions location +"events files"+ used in that demo application.

    Hello,
    When closing the Java WTK emulator, all external event settings (e.g. location data) are getting lost. How can I store these settings, so that I do not have to enter them manually each time the emulator is started?

  • WLI 8.1 RDBMS Event Generator Problem

    Hi,
    I am using WLI 8.1 SP4. I have created a Trigger type RDBMSEventGenerator which publishes events in xml format.
    It is supposed to poll every 8 seconds.
    This event generator works fine if it is created after the server is started.
    However, if the server is restarted, the same event generator stops polling completely. No events are published irrespective of the number of inserts made in the specified table.
    Could anyone shed some light on why this is happening. I have tried to suspend and resume the event generator several times as well, to no effect.

    I would ask in the WebLogic Server - JMS forum.

  • WTK Emulator Bluetooth Problem

    Hi
    WTK 2.5.2 installed on my computer. I have developed a bluetooth application .My application is running any mobile phone. However , it doesn't run wtk emulator. I have tried wtk 2.5.2 BluetoothDemo on emulator but client emulator can't find any device in range .Is there anybody that has an idea about this topic ?

    Don't be silly, bluetooth on the emulator is emulated.
    If you need a bluetooth application that can run on your computer, search for a Java SE bluetooth implemention. One I am aware of is Bluecove. It's free, but doesn't work with all bluetooth stacks.

  • Refresh data in popup by external event

    Hi folks,
    I have got a popup with an alv grid displaying data from a database table.
    I want to reload the alv grid in case new entries were created outside of this popup.
    I thought it would be possible to fire an ABAP OO event after writing new data to database.
    The popup implements a handler for this event and this handler executes a manual refresh.
    My problem is that the event handler doesn't get this external event.
    In case I fire the event within the popup screen it works.
    I already thought about a periodic screen refresh. But that causes to much database traffic.
    Are there any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Josef

    Hi Joseph.,
    I think periodic refresh is the way for ur requirement.,  U pls post ur thread here.. [ABAP OO Forum|ABAP Objects; . U will get some more useful inputs.,

  • Email Event Generator - Error

    Hi,
    I am facing a problem in reading the email and its attachments. Basically I get excel attachments from a third party and some message in the body of the mail. I need to read the email body in the jpd ( process ) and archive the attachments of the mail in a location . To achieve this I use the email event generator to archive the attachments and to call a process to read the body of the mail.
    Steps I followed -
    1. Created a mail account with my name on the mail server.
    2. Created a new email event genertor with all the required parameters in WLI console. configurations being
    Server Protocol POP3
    Channel Name /EmailEventProcess/SampleStringChannel
    Hostname ABC.ENERGY.LOCAL
    Port Number 25
    Username TestSS
    Password ********
    Attachments Archive
    Polling Interval 1 min
    Read Limit 10
    Post Read Action Archive
    Archive Directory C:\Cache
    Error Directory C:\Cache
    Description
    Publish As weblogic
    3. created a channel in the project in weblogic workshop -
    <channel name ="SampleStringChannel" messageType="string" qualifiedMetadataType="eg:EmailEventGenerator"/>
    4. In a process project - took the option
    subscribe to a message broker channel and start via an event (through email)..
    code :
    * @jpd:mb-static-subscription message-metadata="{x1}" channel-name="/EmailEventProcess/SampleStringChannel" message-body="{x0}"
    public void subscription(java.lang.String x0, com.bea.wli.eventGenerator.EmailEventGeneratorDocument x1)

    I tried printing out the testString , but i get some strange error.. below is the error -

  • Timer Event Generator.

    Hi there
    I'm running WL Platform 8.1 SP4. I am using the timer event generator to fire requests to a channel/process. The timer is simply used to start a given process, there is no notion of message sent to it.
    Issues
    1) When defining a channel,
    e.g
    <channel name ="XToY" messageType="xml"
    qualifiedMetadataType="eg:TimerEventGenerator" />
    It seems I must define messageType="xml", if i define it as 'none' then it does not appear in the channel list when defining the timer event generator, therefore i cannot bind to it. So if I leave the messageType as xml, it appears. For the configuration of the timer, the message element is optional. Problem is when the timer now fires it throws the following error:
    <08-May-2006 10:25:25 o'clock BST> <Error> <WLI-Core> <BEA-489030> <Error publishing Timer Event message for XToYTimerEG : com.bea.wli.mbconnector.MBConnMDBBase$MBConnectorException: Can't create proc
    ess variable: com.bea.wli.mbconnector.MBConnMDBBase$MBConnectorException: Can't read XML (no root element)>
    Any ideas?
    2) Can someone direct me to any wlst scripts that allow the creation of a timer event generator in a cluster? ?I cannot find anything on dev2dev ?
    TIA
    Arvinder

    Ok, you can basically leave the messageType as XML
    and for the Timer EG configuration, for the optional message you can add <dummy/> this will fire the request and start a workflow or whatever is bound to the channel.

  • HTTP event generator

    I have the following problem: I want to start a process with an event generated by the HTTP event generator. So far so good.
    The problem I have is that I want this process to return a result. I have not been able to drag a Client response on my JPD file because Workshop complains that this is incompatible with static subscriptions and I can't find out how to design a process that start with a dynamic subscription ?
    Does anyone can help ?

    Jeff,
    1. Using event generators you are using the message broker. The message broker is basically an anonymous publish-subscribe mechanism, the receiver does not no anything about the sender (Except it is in the message payload or metadata). So you cannot directly respond to it.
    2. Dynamic subscriptions are also related to the MB and will neither help, Dynamic subscriptions are subscriptions from an already running workflow, meaning the MB sends messages to distinct instances at runtime.
    3. Depending on your business case, you could think about starting a workflow via the webservice interface or via HTTP directly.

    Hi, I was looking for a way to enable a workflow/process to extact a custom jms property that is send with a jms message to the jms event generator.
    So the client inserts name/value pair inside the jms message, the event generator picks up the message and starts a workflow. How can I extract that custom name/value pair once inside the workflow/process ?
    TIA

  • How to create an RDBMS event generator using wlst on weblogic 10.3

    how to create an RDBMS event generator using wlst on weblogic 10.3, i got a code fragment needing class "com.bea.wli.management.configuration.RDBMSEventGenChannelConfiguration"
    but i can' t find this class in classpath on weblogic 10.3, pls help me, thanks. code sample is better.

    Hi,
    RDBMS Event Generator Channel Rule Definition
    When you are creating channel rule definitions in the WebLogic Integration Administration Console, it is recommended that you do not use the Back button if you want to resubmit the details on a page.
    You should always use the navigation links provided and create a new channel rule definition.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13214_01/wli/docs85/deploy/cluster.html
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13214_01/wli/docs81/relnotes/relnotesLimit.html
    http://otndnld.oracle.co.jp/document/products/owli/docs10gr3/pdf/deploy.pdf
    This problem has been seen in the past when defining the channel rule for an RDBMS Event Generator if schema name was specified with the incorrect case (i.e. lowercase when it should have been uppercase or vice versa). To that end, it is suggested to change the case of the schema when creating the channel rule

  • Regd FIle Event Generator

    Hi,
    Am having a file event generator,and the presence one such file[string type] in the folder would trigger one of my JPD's. Now, I want to read the contents of the file as well, in addition to the complete file name..I guess this can be done by reading the meta data, but am having problems doing this..
    How do I read this metadata,to know the full file name the the file contents?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks In Advance,
    RB

    Hi,
    I did like this
    1. Created a channel where an set the qualifiedMetadataType="eg:FileEventGenerator"
    Ex.
    <channels xmlns="http://www.bea.com/wli/broker/channelfile"
              channelPrefix="/Bilprovningen"
    xmlns:eg="http://www.bea.com/wli/eventGenerator"

    <channel name ="MegadiscInvoiceFileChannel" messageType="xml" qualifiedMessageType="utskrift" qualifiedMetadataType="eg:FileEventGenerator"/>
    </channel>
    </channels>
    2. Create a process with a subscriptin like thist
    * @jpd:mb-static-subscription message-metadata="{x1}" channel-name="/Bilprovningen/FileHandling/MegadiscInvoiceFileChannel" message-body="{x0}"
    public void subscription(com.bea.xml.XmlObject x0, com.bea.wli.eventGenerator.FileEventGeneratorDocument x1) throws Exception
    //#START: CODE GENERATED - PROTECTED SECTION - you can safely add code above this comment in this method. #//

    this.fileEventGeneratorDocument = x1;
    //#END : CODE GENERATED - PROTECTED SECTION - you can safely add code below this comment in this method. #//
    3. You could then access the x1 I think to read the meta data.

  • Using a Foreign JMS Destination as a JMS Event Generator Subscription

    NOTE THIS IS BUMPED UP FROM ROBERT NORTON'S POST. I am having the same
    problem here. From the wliconsole, the only queues listed to have events
    generated from are local ones.
    Hello,
    I'm trying to create a workflow that is started by a JMS message queue
    event.
    I'm trying to use the WLIJMSEventGenTool in WebLogic 8.1 to listen to a
    queue
    on a remote WebLogic 8.1 installation, publish the incoming messages to
    a channel,
    then initiate a workflow by subscribing to that channel. Here's a copy
    of my configuration
    file for the tool:
    <message-broker-jms-event-generator-def
    source-jndi-name="SearchInputQueue"> <channel
    name="/srm/sInput/sInput" /> </message-broker-jms-event-generator-def >
    I tried to tackle this by configuring a foreign JMS Server, Connection
    Factory,
    and Destination using the Weblogic Admin Console. Below are the
    parameters I used
    to define the remote connection
    Foreign JMS Server:
    jndi initial context factory: weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory jndi
    connection
    url: //OPER1090:7001
    Foreign connection factory:
    local jndi name: FtsFactory remote jndi name:
    weblogic.jws.jms.QueueConnectionFactory
    (Are username and password required?)
    Foreign JMS Destination:
    local jndi name: SearchInputQueue remote jndi name:
    InternalSearchInputQueue
    After I try to deploy my generated JMS Event jar, I receive the
    following error:
    <Jun 6, 2003 10:31:50 AM EDT> <Warning> <EJB> <BEA-010061> <The
    Message-Driven
    E JB: SearchInputQueue-UnorderedMessageListener is unable to connect to
    the JMS
    de stination: SearchInputQueue. The Error was: [EJB:011010]The JMS
    destination
    with the JNDI name: SearchInputQueue could not b e found. Please ensure
    that the
    JNDI name in the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml is correct , and the JMS
    destination has
    been deployed.>
    I'm pretty sure the problem is simply that my syntax is off somewhere in
    my configuration.
    I found the existing BEA documentation to be a bit too generic,
    containing no
    specific examples of the proper syntax to use for this task. Can anyone
    offer
    any advice or better, a working example? Any BEA reps out there?

    <message-broker-jms-event-generator-def
    source-jndi-name="SearchInputQueue"> <channel
    name="/srm/sInput/sInput" /> </message-broker-jms-event-generator-def >
    I tried to tackle this by configuring a foreign JMS Server, Connection
    Factory,
    and Destination using the Weblogic Admin Console. Below are the
    parameters I used
    to define the remote connection
    Foreign JMS Server:
    jndi initial context factory: weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory jndi
    connection
    url: //OPER1090:7001
    Foreign connection factory:
    local jndi name: FtsFactory remote jndi name:
    weblogic.jws.jms.QueueConnectionFactory
    (Are username and password required?)
    Foreign JMS Destination:
    local jndi name: SearchInputQueue remote jndi name:
    InternalSearchInputQueue
    After I try to deploy my generated JMS Event jar, I receive the
    following error:
    <Jun 6, 2003 10:31:50 AM EDT> <Warning> <EJB> <BEA-010061> <The
