X-box receiver for Windows won't connect to controller

Hello,
I have recently restored my computer, and before that point my wireless xbox controller connected to the PC fine via the Official Microsoft receiver. After the restore, I reinstalled the drivers for the receiver and when plugged in the light on the receiver
didn't light up. I did some research prior to posting this to see if I could find a solution, and I got it to light up by doing the following:
1.Right click on Computer
2.Go to Properties
3.Click on Device Manager
4.Right click on the Unidentified Device
5.Go to Properties
6.Go to the Drive tab
7.Click on "Update Driver"
8.Browse my computer for driver software
9.Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
10.Microsoft Common Controller for Window Class
11."Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows"
12.Update Driver Warning
13.Click Yes
I heard by doing the above, it cured the problem for others, but it didn't work for me. Now, when I try to hook up my controller, I hold the large X in the middle of the controller, and all four quarters blink. I hold down the sync button on the receiver,
then the controller, and the receiver blinks, and the controller does its swirling connecting thing. The receiver then stops flashing and goes back to being static, and the controller resumes the four quarters blinking. Normally, the top left quarter should
stay lit and the connection would be successful, but it isn't doing that for some reason. Anyone know how to get them to complete the process of syncing?

Jabber for Windows and Unity Connection Voice mail out of sync

Hello all,
Now that Jabber is pretty much part of every install you begin to notice some trends. One trend that I have noticed happening across several of customers is complaints about Jabber and the Voicemail server getting out of sync. It’s never really been a wide spread issue but it has be noticed by several of my customers enough so that I’m reaching out to see if others are experiencing the same problem. Here are the symptoms, a person sitting at their desk they have a physical phone, and a windows PC running Jabber 4 Windows. They miss a call and the MWI lamp gets lit on the phone but not on Jabber. When you click on HELP / Show Connection status, you see all green checks, and Voicemail shows connected from Jabbers standpoint. When you exit the application and come back in, then it sync’s back up just fine. I have never seen it happen myself, but to be honest I’m never at my desk enough to even notice if my phone lamp is lit.
Anyway has anyone had similar issues? If so is there a fix?

Symptom:
User logged in Jabber and do not log-off/sign-out for more than 24 hours and then jabber does not receive new voicemails from Unity Connection. User will be able to receive voicemails from other interfaces like Outlook, TUI but voicemails will not show up in Jabber.
Conditions:
User does not sign out from jabber for more than 24 hours since last log on.
Workaround:
Sign out from jabber at-least once a day and sign-in back so that subscription will not expire in Unity Connection database.
Voicemail does not sync if Jabber left logged in for more than 24 hours

Nano formatted for Windows won't appear on Mac?

Rec'd replacment 2GB nano yesterday. Hooked it up to my iMac G4 running OS X version 10.4.7. The nano charged, but does not appear on my Mac and has not synched. I notice that it is formatted for Windows. Cannot restore or update as the computer does not show an iPod connected.
Do I need to get a different nano or am I missing something?

Yes, when connecting your iPod to a different type of computer (a Mac), you will need to format it for Windows (by restoring your iPod through the Updater).
Since you can't do this (since your Updater won't recognize your iPod), try resetting your iPod, then putting your iPod into disk mode.
Put it into disk mode, then try restoring it again.

MS Word for iPad won't connect to OneDrive

I just downloaded MS Word for iPad (and I have a subscription to MS Office 365). The install went fine, but when I log in, it doesn't access my OneDrive folders. It shows two generic folders (Documents and Public), but if I click on Documents, for example, it grinds for a while and then returns with the message "Cannot Connect to Server." My internet connection is fine, and if I simply go to OneDrive, it works fine too. It's just the new Word for iPad app that won't connect to OneDrive.
Any ideas?

ITunes 10.5 for Windows 7 not connecting to iTunes store.

I updated to iTunes 10.5 today hoping that Apple fixed the connection problems which came with previous versions of iTunes for Windows. Unfortunately I was wrong. After installing 10.5, I cannot connect to the iTunes store...again. The progress bar at the top locks (along with the message "Accessing iTunes Store") and after 30 seconds all I get is a blank page. This is exactly what has happed in the last couple of versions of iTunes for Windows. I tried some of the 'netsh' fixes seen on other posts and this did not solve the issue. I also tried unistalling the specific AppleApplicationSupport software (in this case 2.1.5) and re-installing the 1.5.2 version (which fixed the connection problems on the previous version of iTunes) as seen on other posts but doing this will not work either. Any suggestions out there?

since other people aren't having this same issue you need to try troubleshooting your own machine and network connections to fix this, it's most likely not due to apple software.
Reconfigure any security software to allow Apple's servers to pass.
Useful information for configuring your security software:
IMPORTANT: iTunes must be allowed to contact Apple using the following ports and servers:
          ▪          port 80
          ▪          port 443
          ▪          phobos.apple.com, deimos3.apple.com, albert.apple.com, gs.apple.com, itunes.apple.com, ax.itunes.apple.com, ax.init.itunes.apple.com, ax.phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net
iTunes uses well known ports and these ports may need to be opened for iTunes: 80, 443, 3689, 5297, 5298, 5353, 8000-8999, and 42000-42999.
iTunes also contacts VeriSign servers during an iPhone restore and activation:

Temporarily disable or uninstall your security software
If the current available version of your security software is incompatible with iTunes, you can disable the security software and test if it is the source of the issue. It might also be necessary to temporarily uninstall security software after making sure you can reinstall it and note any required licenses. To isolate the issue to this you can also try disconnecting the router and plugging your computer directly in to the modem but this does not help for troubleshooting time-out issues directly on any apple mobile devices only if you are syncing or going through iTunes on the computer.

Nano formated for windows won't work on my mac

I just bought the 2 gig new nano but it is formated for windows and I use a mac. Itunes does not recoignize it and neither does my finder. I tried to reset the nano but it won't even do that. Granted, the nano isn't fully charged, but it reads more than half charged, so i'm assuming it would be ready to sync with itunes 7.0.
Anyone else have the same problem or at least know a solution?

Sorry abou that. I found out by reading more of the posts that the correct way to reset the new nano ipod is by pressing both the menu AND enter (center) key at the same time. When I read the apple faq's, it said to press the menu button only.... now everything sync properly. Thanks again.

Drivers for Windows XP - cannot connect wirelessly in XP, no driver files.

Can someone please provide the Drivers for Antheros wireless adapter on the MacBook?
I've gone back and re-downloaded Bootcamp, created another Drivers for Windows XP CD and when I go to install the Drivers in XP I receive an error message: 1706 No valid source could be found for peoduct Macintiosh Drivers for Windows XP.
When I open the CD directory I see nothing but documentation files.

No, You don't need oracle 9i DB installed in Single Box, Once you start Single Box installation, you will be prompted to create a DB for Files/Email and other 9i DB will be created for IAS.

Microsoft Rights Management Sharing Application for Windows and the connection with AD RMS

I have installed AD RMS and now installed on end users Microsoft Rights Management Sharing Application for Windows.
When I choose protect a document in any end user machine, does it connect with AD RMS server to get a certificate and encrypt the content, or does not use at all AD RMS services? What about when choosing to protect with an AD RMS template distributed
to end users?

Hi Ardi -
The first time a user creates or consumes protected content, they must contact the RMS server to "bootstrap". In this process, the user obtains certificates to identity them within the context of RMS.
Once a user has bootstrapped, he or she can create protected protected content without access to the RMS server.
To open protected content, a user must connect to the AD RMS server to obtain a "use license".

Boot Camp: Windows won't connect to AirPort router

I got the new AirPort router from Apple in March and since then it's been working perfectly with my Macs as well as on Windows using Boot Camp.
A few days ago, I switched my AirPort setting to be Wireless-N ONLY so I could see some speed improvement on my Mac. The next time I used Windows, it would not connect to the network, so I then went back to my AirPort settings and switched it back to 802.11 G and N compatible. But both my Windows computers still won't connect.
Please help me set up the correct options. Thanks.

ICloud update for Windows won't install

I keep getting the Apple update dialog that states there is an update for the iCloud for Windows application. I've tried installing from there, downloading the update from Tools -> Download and even downloaded to whole setup file from iCloud.com. ALL of them fail with the error that there is a problem with the files and it immediately rolls back the changes.
This happens on my desktop with Windows 7 and my laptop with Windows 8.
Any suggestions?

Nike+ "Waiting for Receiver... Attach a receiver to continue" Won't connect

Brand new Nike+ with the latest software installed on both MacBook Pro and iPod Nano. iPod does not recognise Nike+ receiver when inserted. After going through the settings menu I can make the Nano display the Nike+ menu however when I try and connect all I get is "Waiting for Receiver... Attach a receiver to continue" which I have done to no avail. Most likely the product is just plain FAULTY however why does Apple make it so hard to get service or to contact them. It seems it is mostly users having to solve Apple's problems. Lift your after sales service Apple. Your selling side is slick but after that we are forgotten. Way to many hoops to jump through to get things fixed or replaced!

Have the same problem : receiver and sensor worked fine for 10 months (500 km) and now I got the message "waiting for receiver ...". Receiver and ipod seem ok (no water or meachnical stress between the runs!). I am thinking about buying a new receiver + sensor or sneding my defect parts to apple. Any experience?

Itunes for windows won't open

clicking on the itunes icon does nothing, nor trying from the program list. I removed itunes & reinstalled it (downloading from apple), tried the repair option, tried downloading to a different drive, but nothing. I'm wondering if this is a problem with the latest windows update, as yahoo messenger doesn't work since then either.

The first thing I'd suggest is to get a good
antispyware checker and give it a go at your system.
Some recent spyware has been reported by other users
to shut down iTunes or prevents it from launching.
From user reports, Ewido seems to be the best at
catching it. You can download a free version of Ewido
here.
I tried ewido and it found a lot of adware, but I'm afraid itunes and yahoo messenger still won't work. thanks for the suggestion, though.
