X11 wont launch

On Oct 12th all of a sudden my X11 wont launch. I have a program that uses Wine and it looks like X11 is having some issue with a older version of a libfreetyps.6.dylib. I don't understand why this is a problem. Here is the log form Console:

Apple's X11 on on 10.6 is very problematic.
Go get the newest version of XQuartz, install it and reboot... then it should be the default X11 version, and its much newer and much better. Apple's X11 is made off XQuartz anyways...

Hey guys, I'm having a little more trouble this weekend than usual. Here is the story. X11 wont launch, it just wont. I'm trying to open OpenOffice.org and X11 wont launch. I have tried launching X11 by itself and it bounces in the dock once and then dissappears. I am running OS X 10.4.7 on my Intel MacBook, and I have an intel build of OOo just for reference.

I posted the log out of console with the error that I am getting in my first post.
Did you try googling for the errors and searching for them on Apple's web site?
Yes, I did, and it didn't help.
Also, if your MacBook is still under warranty for software support, try contacting Apple, or even better, if there's a good Apple reseller in your area or an Apple Store, bring your MacBook there to ask for assistance with this matter.
I bought the MacBook on the 13th of July. I have asked the guys at my local AppleCentre while i was working there through the holidays, but they dont ow why it's not working

Itunes wont launch, no error message, no blue screens, just wont open

itunes wont launch, i get no error message, no blue screen, it just wont open. I've tried to delete and reinstall, but once i close itunes i still have same issue. it wont open again.

I have same problem on my XP lap top and Windows 7 PC. Apple have been investigating this problem for me for a week now without success so far. Understand it 's ongoing with other customers as well.
It is caused by an bit of program called APSDaemon supplied by Apple in latest i-Tunes. Your quick fix to enable you to open i-Tunes again is as follows:- open Task Manager (right click bottom toolbar), click on Task Manager, select Processes. Find APSDaemon, highlight and press END PROCESS. I-tunes will now re-open ok. You have to repeat this every time you want i-Tunes re-opened until you switchoff or restart.
A pain I know, but lets you keep going until Apple repair and release an update for i-Tunes

Premiere Elements 11 wont launch on my MacBookPro

I installed Premiere Elements 11 today and it wont launch.
The launch window doesn't get past:

before I get the Adobe Premiere Elements 11 quit unexpectedly; report.
I click re-open and the problem persists.

In addition to following your two tips, I came across some additional information related to fonts. I validate the font library and reloaded it. I was then able to open Premiere Elements 11; SonicFire plug-in still didn't work.
I found some information in the forum on a related SonicFire patch - installed the patch and everything is working fine. Turned on Retina display and life is good.

HELP Itunes wont launch after upgrading

I downloaded the latest Itunes, and then tried to launch it.
I keep getting the following message
"error getting file security :\C\program files\get last error 5
I have even tried to remove I tunes through the add & remove section in the control panel, but this also does not allow me to do this and i get the same message.
Can someone help ???

are you getting an error message? if so, what does it say? include error message numbers if you're getting any.
or are you getting no error messages whatsoever when you try to launch itunes?
if you're getting no error messages whatsoever, do you just see the wee hourglass for a few seconds, and then nothing? if so, do you also have Norton Internet Security 2005 installed on that PC?
also, reboot the PC. bring up your Task Manager, and click on the "Processes" tab. now try to launch itunes again.
does an "itunes.exe" process appear in the Processes tab? if so, does it persist in there or does it disappear after a few seconds?

Itunes wont launch, though it says its running

So heres the deal, got a new comp a few weeks ago and installed itunes on it. I'm running windows XP pro (same as on old one) and when I try to run itunes it wont launch. It says its running in my task manager though. I've tried reinstalling it, but same thing happens. Any suggestions? Thanks!

ok i think we might be onto something here with the first link, the dosent open after upgrade one. Everything went fine until step 7, the main SCinfo file exists, but the SC Info.sidb file that it shows being inside there is NOT there. Could this be a problem with the installation or something else?
Though i suppose if it wasent there at all it shouldent hurt as your supposed to delete it anyways....but if thats the case (I certainly didnt delete it already)and the fix is to delete a file that isnt there anyways, i'm not sure that will help.

HT4589 Final Cut Pro wont launch anymore

I updated to the latest version of Final Cut Pro and now it wont launch. the window comes up and all I get is a spinning colourful wheel as a cursor and no way to operate the software.

Could be a problem within one or more of your Events or Projects.
Move your Events and Projects to new (temporary) folders so that FCP X doesn't find them on launch.
If it launches OK, then quit the app and move the Projects back one by one (re-launching each time). The media will be offline (red clips) but if it launches OK, quit again, and move the Events back one by one - re-launching each time you move an Event.
This should isolate the offending Event - you can then use a similar technique to track down the individual file.

Like many others I have been reading about online I am having the same error. I tried the fix listed above and simply wasted 30 minutes of my time. I scheduled a time for Apple to call and help me through this and their solution was for me to call Microsoft for some reason?!! iTunes made me upgrade then stopped working - I really don't see how this is a Microsoft problem??
Like Darren if a solution is not found quickly I will also have to sell my phone as the only way to get videos and music on my phone is through the software that you made me upgrade, broke and won't help me fix.
