X121e(3051) getting replacement keyboard bezel and base cover assembly

Hello. I recently had a little accident with my ThinkPad and sadly some plastic parts broke out around the screws. So I want to replace those parts. The Machine in itself is unaffected and works flawlessly.
The parts I would need are:
1. Keyboard bezel assembly without fingerprint reader. FRU: 04W1902
2. Base cover assembly. FRU: 04W2230
So my question is as to if it is possible to just get those two parts. And to where best send a request for this as I didn't really find anything fitting on the Lenovo homepage.
I don't want to buy any support or send the machine in as it works without problems and is really more of a cosmetic issue.

Hello Ragassi,
I would suggest you to get the parts from Lenovo authorized service center.
You may contact the detail from support center.

  • Replaced keyboard bezel, but touchpad not recognized

I have T410, Windows 7, BIOS 1.44 (recently updated) and a few days ago the touchpad buttons stopped working. I could move the cursor with the touchpad but I couldn't select anything by either tapping the touchpad or using any of the buttons. When I would disable the touchpad and selct the option of only using the trackpoint then the trackpoint (upper) buttons were fine (I'd lost the red rubbery thing for the trackpoint a while back so couldn't really stick with that option).
So, I figured I must have messed up the buttons somehow (I suspect liquid or something although I don't remember having spilled anything). I ordered a new keyboard bezel and installed it, but now the computer does not recognize that the touchpad is installed at all. I tried installing new hardware but its not there, reinstalling the drivers but the install wizard says there's no Synaptics device installed. When I press Fn and F8 I get the message that I must enable the trackpoing and touchapd in BIOS. I went into BIOS but under Configure - Keyboard/Mouse there is nothing at all about trackpoint or touchpad (just some fn and cntrl options). (My BIOS is unusually slow when moving between the different categories for some reason too)
I thought maybe the wires that connect the touchpad are the culprit but with the old bezel the touchpad could still move the cursor so I'm thinking it must be something else.
I'm using a wireless mouse without a problem, but having dropped $80 on the new touchpad, I really want to make it functional.
    Any help is appreciated.
    thanks!

So, I got the trackpoint to work now by installing the Synaptics driver from their website. The touchpad is still not working. I'm even more convinced this is not a matter of corrupt BIOS but rather something else because after I installed the new keyboard bezel the trackpoint did not work either and could not be found in BIOS but now works with a new driver.
I still can't install the Ultranav driver because I still get the message No synaptics device found.
Any other ideas on how I can get the driver to recognize that the hardware is installed?

  • How to get rid of movie and tv cover flow

I would like to know if there is any way that I can get rid of the itunes store movie and tv show covers that come up when I turn on my apple TV.
I do not mind the cover flow from my own content, but I have a lot of small children who do not need to be seeing the R rated images on many of the store movie and tv show options.  It is terribly inconvient to ask my little ones to leave the room so that I can search for and load an age apportiate show for them.
I highly recommend addressing this if it has not come up before.  Consider allowing owner chosen artwork or just a keep it blank.  Maybe put the option under parental controls.
Please let me know if this is possible. Thanks,
    Nick

No it's not possible and we've had a few discussions about this in the past - minors can browse/see cover art that can be innappropriate even if they cannot rent/purchase.
If you mainly have your own content you could disable the iTunes store or maybe see if you can configure your router to allow it LAN connectivity only.
Disabling iTunes store however still allows access to Movie trailers.

  • Where can I buy a Base cover assembly with key pad for Satellite L650-1MC?

How can I find out part numbers and prices and where to buy?
    Thx

It is pretty problematic to find online store where you can buy spare parts for notebooks.
Very good place to order different hardware parts for different notebook models is eBay.
Have you already checked if you can find all you need on eBay?
In the past I have ordered battery and several covers for my Satellite notebook.
Of course you can contact Toshiba service provider in your country and order the parts there.

    Hi,
Are you speaking about the standrad SAP roles? If yes, you can have a look at BC and ABAP roles. However, if your question is about the created roles, you should see the convention that was followed in your organization to identify the roles.

  • [Rant] T440s - Defective UltraNav, defective keyboard, defective display bezel and horrible support

Hi! I'll just need to let off some steam and maybe someone even has a suggestion for me what to try.
    1) Apparently, my trackpad is defective. It sometimes fails to recognise clicks and the middle mouse button does not work at all. At frist, I thought this was due to driver issues, but after the firmware upgrade didn't work I came to the conclusion that the hardware is faulty.
    2) My TrackPoint doesn't stay where it should stay. The red rubber thing is mounted on a grey plastic cap which should stick to the keyboard. However, my plastic cap always comes off. The TrackPoint always sticks to my finger and then falls out. Seems to be a defective keyboard, although it was never handled inappropriately.
    3) The display bezel isn't assembled properly. I've read this from many people here in the forums, so it is a known issue. The thin plastic front cover isn't glued to the bezel and comes off in the right bottom of the screen and at the same point, the bezel once detached from the display lid, but at least now holds after I pressed it back on.
You would think Lenovo would provide some business-class support for a business notebook. After calling and providing pictures, I was told to wait for a further email. I didn't receive one until almost two weeks later because they managed to mistype my address three times. I had already provided pictures, but they wanted more. I sent more, sufficient to see the issues. They still told me to send more pictures. Obviously, I already sent enough and the best quality my camera can shoot, so I sent links to pictures in this forum from people having exactly the same problem. Still, "please send detailed photos".
I was also told to try installing a Lenovo pre-load in order to see if this fixed the trackpad problem. Guys, I already did four clean installs of Windows 7 and 8.1. With and without Lenovo drivers and with every available driver version. I can tell it's defective and a Lenovo pre-load doesn't change anything. My machine didn't come with a Windows licence, so I couldn't install a Windows with pre-load. Their suggestion was for me to send the notebook to a repair centre so they could wipe my hard disk, install a pre-load and see if the issue is still present (yes, it will be because the hardware is defective and it is your responsibility to fix it!).
I put the ticket on hold because this is unacceptable for me. I will now ask the vendor to return the machine or get a replacement. Sorry Lenovo, but that's not how you make satisfied customers.

Well... My organization has just dropped Lenovo ThinkPads from the list of recommended machines. The reasons being dismal ergonomics (the main reason) due to the clickpad and persistent quality problems.
We were a ThinkPad-only shop for about 15 years. That is over now.
This is very, very sad. I would pay a reasonable premium to get something like W540 with the best display, but the old keyboard (centralized and not a brain-dead positioning like the new one) and proper buttons for the mouse.
Lenovo is really, really determined in killing the ThinkPad range.
Hence, just return the machine. And buy something else.

  • I replaced my keyboard batteries and the light is flashing so it is in discovery mode. But I am stuck on the home page where I need to type my password, without a keyboard. Aluminum trick didn't work. What do I do?

I shut off my computer and the next day replaced the batteries in my keyboard after getting the low battery message. After replacing them and turning the keyboard on and off the green LED was blinking which meant it was in discovery mode. The problem is I can't login to my computer because I need to type in a password. But I can't use the keyboard so I can't use my mouse to find the device because I can't login.  The aluminum ball trick did not work and I did recheck the battery life and they are in the right way. How do I fix this?

  • How to get a replaced keyboard "recognized"?

I replaced my keyboard now the iMac doesn't recognize it. Please advise.

'''Control Panel > Region and Language Options > Keyboard and Languages > Change Keyboards >'''
'''TAB General''': you can install and delete the other languages and layouts.
'''TAB Language Bar''': you can get the keyboard icon on the taskbar again for quick changes (not needed once you uninstall the unwanted languages that comes with it)
'''TAB Advanced key settings''': Make keyboard shortcuts to easily change your keyboard language and Layout.

  • My 13" macbook just stopped working. When you turn it on you get a white screen and hear a repetitive clicking sound on the left side. Is this the hard drive? Any suggestions on replacement drives?

My 13" macbook just stopped working. When you turn it on you get a white screen and hear a repetitive clicking sound on the left side. Is this the hard drive? Any suggestions on replacement drives?
    Thanks

Put your install DVD into the optical drive (CD/DVD drive) and reboot. Be sure to either use the disc that came with your Mac, or, if you installed a later Mac OS X version from disc, use the newer disc. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option Key until the Install Disk shows up) until the apple shows up. That will force your MacBook to boot from the install DVD in the optical drive.
When it does start up, you'll see a panel asking you to choose your language. Choose your language and press the Return key on your keyboard once. It will then present you with an Installation window. Completely ignore this window and click on Utilities in the top menu and scroll down to Disk Utility and click it. When it comes up is your Hard Drive in the list on the left?
If it is, then click on the Mac OS partition of your hard drive in the left hand list. Then select the First Aid Tab and run Repair Disk. The Repair Disk button won't be available until you've clicked on the Mac OS partition on your hard drive. If that repairs any problems run it again until the green OK appears and then run Repair Permissions. After repairing use Startup Disk from the same menu to choose your hard drive for restarting from your hard drive.
If your hard drive isn’t recognized in Disk Utility then your hard drive is probably dead.

  • My IMAC screen went to sleep and I have it set to enter a password upon waking it up. However, my bluetooth keyboard died while it was asleep and I replaced the batteries and tried to enter my password and it is not picking up my keyboard. What can I do?

My IMAC screen went to sleep and I have it set to enter a password upon waking it up. However, my bluetooth keyboard died while it was asleep and I replaced the batteries and tried to enter my password and it is not picking up my keyboard. What can I do? I will not let me enter my password to get in and trouble shoot the keyboard. Please Help!!

I pushed in the button on the top right corner. It turns a green light on and then it goes off. I held it in until it started blinking. It blinks for a bit and then the green light turns off. I am still not able to type my password. What should I do now?

  • Does anyone know where I can get a replacement keyboard for my imac G5 power PC purchased in December 2005

Does anyone know where in the UK or Ireland I can get a replacement keyboard for my imac G5 power PC purchased in December 2005. Running Mac OSX 10.4.1.1?

Not sure where in Ireland to look, but be aware that SOME Apple Aluminum boards will work with 10.4.11. The first Al boards and those through the first few months of 2011 were compatible with any Mac running OS 10.4.11 and having USB ports. Then they changed them to require 10.6.8 for full function.
The ones compatible with 10.4.11 (MB110LL/A) have the icon for Dashboard on the F4 key; the later ones (MB110LL/B) have an icon consisting of six tiny rectangles grouped to form a larger rectangle. The keyboard boxes are nearly identical except for:
the system requirements printed on the front panel
the back panel on the first model reads "Keyboard" where the newer model reads "Keyboard with Numeric Keypad."
When looking for older parts, always consider a Mac User Group:

  • How much does Apple charge to replace cracked trackpad and keyboard

So some idiot decided to wreck a couple of keys off my macbook and brake the plastic on the back of the keys... and then decided to try and superglue it back on and whilst in the process managed to get a bit of glue in the top right section of the trackpad. Then went on to try and loosen it etc and in doing so managed to slightly crack that area on the upper right of the trackpad. My question is how much will apple charge me to replace keyboard and/or the trackpad?

Call your local Apple Store or take your computer in for an estimate. We can't give you an answer.

  • My mac mini only shows a steady power light and fan noise when powered up. No video or sound and no commumication with wired keyboard or optical mouse. Tried replacing internal battery and resetting PMU/SMC but nothing seemed to happen. Any suggestions?

My mac mini only shows a steady power light and fan noise when powered up. No video or sound and no commumication with wired keyboard or optical mouse. Tried replacing internal battery and resetting PMU/SMC but nothing seemed to happen.  Any suggestions? Many thanks! Richard

You've already done the two things I would have suggested.
If your Mini has an internal battery then I assume it's a G4. That means you've gotten a lot of good years of service from it, and it's old enough that it's certainly not covered by AppleCare anymore, and it's probably not worth spending money trying to repair it.
You should be able to tear it apart using instructions from ifixit.com to get the hard drive out, and then put the hard drive into a nice USB or FireWire enclosure (I like the ones from Other World Computing, macsales.com) so you can transfer your data to a replacement Mac.
I hope someone has another suggestion for you.

  • Replacing keyboard and mouse

I am trying to replace the wireless keyboard and mouse combo on my HP506Q Touchsmart with a Microsoft wireless combo. No matter what I do, the system will not respond to the new ones. Neither the new keyboard nor the new mouse will work. I have down loaded the newest drivers from Microsoft and installed them. I have tried the connect switches on both mouse and keyboard. I have removed and reinstalled the batteries from both. Amy suggestions?

Did you disconnect the little blue USB receiver under the body?
You should aslo be able to go into Control Panel -> Uninstall Programs and uninstall HP Keyboard. You can get your keyboard software back by Start -> PC Help & Tools, Recovery Manager.
