Xdb username and password while accessing servlets

Hi all,
I just installed application server 8.2. I wrote a simple login.html and a servlet program. The deployment went fine but when I access from browser and click sunbit in login page, it asks for a xdb username and password. I don't remember giving it during installation. What is this?
Thanks

  • ILM assistant XDB username and password not working

    Hi All,
    Hi I'm using ILM 1.3 with Oracle 11g on HP.
    I am able to log-in to apex server but not ILM assistant.
    http://dblxamd02.vxindia.veritas.com:8080/apex/apex_admin it works with admin/oracle.
    But im not able to login to http://dblxamd02.vxindia.veritas.com:8080 when it asks for XDB username and password.
    I tried to reset the password using apxxepwd.sql but not luck.
    Did anybody observer this issue ? if so can somebody please reply me ASAP ?
    Thanks in advance.

    There are two wats to install the ILM toolkit:
    1) Directly on the server where your instance is located. In this case you do not need to provide a TNS connection name. Therefore, you would execute the script as follows:
    @ilma_install.sql pune
    2) Remotely from a client. In this case you do need to provide a connection string to your remote database instance. Therefore, you would execute the script as follows:
    @ilma_install.sql pune@11
    in this scenario the connection details are derived from your TNSNAMES.ORA file. If you have multiple Oracle products installed you have multiple copies of this file and it can be difficult to track down which file is being used. To point to a specific TNSNAMES.ORA I normally set three parameters:
    ORACLE_HOME - points to your 11g Client installation directory
    PATH - point this to the Oracle home containing SQLPlus, usually this is ORACLE_HOME/bin
    TNS_ADMIN = ORACLE_HOME/network/admin
    then make sure the TNSNAMES.ORA contains a reference to your identifier "11". You can test the connection by using the TNSPING utility that is part of the 11g client installation. The format for your instance would be:
    TNSPING 11
    this will tell you if you can connect to your instance. If there are any issues check the connection via the Net Configuration Assistant, or you can edit the TNSNAMES.ORA file directly via Notepad.
    Hope this helps

  • Provide developer a username and password to access the weblogic

    Hi,
    we have a weblogic server with a domain name soa_domain and a managed server instance name soa_server1.
    we have 5 developer working. Our aim is to give each developer a username and password to access the weblogic for developing and deploying the applications so that they will not be able to access or tamper other developers work.
    how to accomplish this in weblogic 11g
    Thanks in Advance

  • Obtaining a Subjects username and password from a servlet

    Ok probably an easy one for people out there. I don't even know if it is
    possible.
    I have a servlet that has BASIC authentication going on (lets say it's using
    WebLogic 7.0 default security realm). From the servlet I need to explicitly
    obtain the user's username AND password. I have no problem retrieving the
    principal it's the password I can't get a hold of. I've tried all sorts of
    things like:
    javax.security.auth.Subject subject =
    weblogic.security.Security.getCurrentSubject(); and then trying to get the
    private credentials. No luck though.
    Any ideas? Is it possible?
    Mich

    Thanks for the response Neil.
    I need the password because my servlet is accessing a secure Web service.
    When connecting to the Web service I need to provide the username and
    password of the user (these are passed in String format) and I don't want to
    have the user provide username and password again when accessing the
    external Web service. So really I need to access the WLS security realm
    (where my servlet is executing) to obtain the current user's username and
    password. Will the default credential mapper in WLS give me the username
    and password in text format...from the limited documentation I have read it
    doesn't appear to. Is this correct?
    Mich
    "Neil Smithline" <[email protected]> wrote in message
    news:[email protected]..
    The password is not stored in the Subject. We do this to reduce the
    risk of the password being snooped from WLS's memory. If you wish you
    could write a LoginModule that puts the password in the private
    credentials and then creates an authentication provider that uses that
    LoginModule and make it part of the current realm.
    In general there is no way to get the password from within WLS. The
    passwords are stored in a salted one-way hashed format that is not
    reverse decryptable except via exhaustive search.
    Why do you need the password? If it is for a remote access can you use
    the credential mapper?

  • Username and Password for access apex 4.2

    Hello,
    I have installed apex 4.2.
    Then i have execute java -jar apex.war to instlla listener
    Then i have execute
    http://localhost:7779/apex
    at this point the server ask
    Autentication Required
    The server http://localhost:7779/apex requires a username and password
    The server says  XDB
    ??? Witch are le Username and Password ??
    Thank You

    I understand now. You are in the Embedded Web Server and can not access the Admin settings. In order to reset the password back to defaults, we will need to restore the Network defaults on the printer, then reconfigure the printer for your wireless network again. You can use the steps below to restore the network defaults on the printer;
     Touch the little wrench (settings) icon you see in the top right hand corner of the printer touch screen.
     Touch the Wireless Menu.
     Navigate to Restore Network Defaults.
    Once restored, go to the Wireless Setup Wizard in the Wireless Menu and reconfigure the settings.
    Please click the Thumbs up icon below to thank me for responding.

  • Authentication window appears asking fo XDB username and password

    Hi all,
    Trying to access APEX on standby production server that I've not referenced for several months. when going to URL get pop-up in IE or Mozilla asking for username and password for XDB. Never seen this before - anyone got any ideas?
    Also as an aside the HTTP server appears to be showing as down in Grid Control even though when I run "opmnctl startall" it says it has started it but an "opmnctl status" command reveals:
    --------------------------------------------------------------+---------
    ias-component | process-type | pid | status
    --------------------------------------------------------------+---------
    HTTP_Server | HTTP_Server | 0 | NONE
    Not sure what the NONE measn............
    Thanks,
    Jeremy

    Hi,
    According to your description, it seems like caused by permission problem. What's the type your problematic account? Administrator or standard? Is this problem just occures to this system?
    In my opinion, it would be better to use Process Monitor to capture the trace of this problem.
    Run Process Monitor, start capture, then start IE and access to a website. When this problem occures, stop capture.
    Download Process Monitor:

  • Browser prompting for username and password to access enterprise manager.

    I've just installed Internet Directory 10.1.4.0.1 and am having trouble connecting to Application Server Console in Enterprise Manager.
    When I try to go to the url http://localhost:18101, a dialog pops up asking for a username and password. In firefox it says 'Enter username and password for "enterprise-manager" at http://localhost:18101'. IE6 just says, 'enterprise-manager'. I have tried various sets of credentials for this - my network userid and password; and ias_admin, orcladmin, sys and sysman, all with the passwords I specified at install time. None of these work. If I cancel the dialog box I get a '401 Unauthorised' page. I'm sure this is coming from apache and is basic web page authentication, and not an enterprise manager login.
    Has any one seen this before?
    I can connect through directory manager, and I can connect to the database console for the metadata repository.
    emctl status iasconsole shows that it is running.

  • Username and Password Problems accessing site

    Yesterday I created a blog using iWeb 09 and published it and went with the option that visitors needed to have the user name and password to access the site. Friends and family reported that these wern't accepted and I had the same problem when I tried. Publishing and accessing using mobile me by the way. Removing the password UN option removed the problem. I have installed the latest update to the iLife 09 suite. This problem occurred to those using both mac and windows. Is this a bug?

    Make your site private and add a username and pw, then publish your site. You will get a popup when it is done publishing which gives you the option to announce your site. If you choose that option the user name and pw will be sent to those you choose. If you opt to have people visit your site, they will need the username and pw that you made youe site private with. Hope that helps.

  • Prompt for username and password when executing servlet

    In Weblogic 5.1 when I set the username and password in weblogic.properties file, it prompts for the usertname and password when I execute the gatewayServlet
    weblogic.allow.execute.weblogic.servlet.servlets/gateway.administration=vijay
    weblogic.password.vijay=password
    But I guess this is not the way it can be implemented in 8.1. Please let me know how I can prompt for username and password when executing the servlet. I dont want it to be done programatically. Please let me know whether I can set anything on the properties file.

  • Problem with iWeb asking for username and password to access my public site

    Today for some reason anyone trying to access my site is being asked for username and password. I have made no changes that would require a password. My site has always been public.

    I am having the same problems. My site is public, I checked the settings on the public folder on MobileMe to ensure that it was public and did not require password protection either. But for some odd reason, even though I didn't change anything, my site's pages seem to require a user name and password to get into them. If one continues to click cancel, the page continues to load.
    This does not happen every single time, but it happens more often than not. I have tried this with my iMac, Macbook, as well as my iPod Touch, and I get this on all machines. My brother has tried logging in from another location using his Macbook Pro, and he gets the password prompt as well.
    I tried turning on password protection to the site and uploading the changes, then disabling password protection and reupping the changes once again. I've tried uploading entire site, instead of just changes, but the problem continues to persist. I definitely need this issue solved since this site is important to me.
    The site url is: http://www.globalwinetour.com
    Does anyone have any suggestions to rectify this, or does anyone have any idea what is causing it? Am I missing something here? Am I doing something wrong? Please help me out!

    I understand now. You are in the Embedded Web Server and can not access the Admin settings. In order to reset the password back to defaults, we will need to restore the Network defaults on the printer, then reconfigure the printer for your wireless network again. You can use the steps below to restore the network defaults on the printer;

  • Using a username and password to access the network

    Dear gents,
    i am trying to make the access to the network via 2 things : SSID's key first , then using a username and password to connect, or at least username and password.
    i have aironet 1130ag , and 40 users.
    Any suggestions..

    SSIDs are unique identifiers that identify a WLAN network. Wireless devices use SSIDs to establish and maintain wireless connectivity. SSIDs are case-sensitive and can contain up to 32 alphanumeric characters. Do not use any spaces or special characters in an SSID.
    A client can gain access to the network only if the client password matches the AP password.
