Authentication window appears asking fo XDB username and password

Hi all,
Trying to access APEX on standby production server that I've not referenced for several months. when going to URL get pop-up in IE or Mozilla asking for username and password for XDB. Never seen this before - anyone got any ideas?
Also as an aside the HTTP server appears to be showing as down in Grid Control even though when I run "opmnctl startall" it says it has started it but an "opmnctl status" command reveals:

Not sure what the NONE measn............

According to your description, it seems like caused by permission problem. What's the type your problematic account? Administrator or standard? Is this problem just occures to this system?
In my opinion, it would be better to use Process Monitor to capture the trace of this problem.
Run Process Monitor, start capture, then start IE and access to a website. When this problem occures, stop capture.

Editing offline in WE but windows pop up constantly asks me for username and password.

I started using web expression a few months ago to add some html pages to my os commerce site. I successfully created, uploaded and edited the html pages for several months but now suddenly a pop up box appears asking for my username and password to connect
to my website server every time I try to edit offline in WE.
I have to click cancel 8 times before the box stops appearing but I have to do this every time I save a change.
I guess I could try editing while disconnected from the internet when I use web expression but there are a few down sides to this. I tried entering my server username and password but it didn't work and besides I don't want my live site to be editing until
I finish editing. I'm hoping for a better alternative.
If anyone has any idea about this problem and could suggest something, I'd really appreciate it.

Unfortunately, I have no suggestions. Assuming you are talking (as it seems you are) about a local copy of your site on your PC hard drive, there is nothing about your work flow that should trigger a request for a login.
And, especially since it was working properly until recently, I would have no way of knowing what changed on your machine.

ILM assistant XDB username and password not working

Hi I'm using ILM 1.3 with Oracle 11g on HP.
I am able to log-in to apex server but not ILM assistant.
http://dblxamd02.vxindia.veritas.com:8080/apex/apex_admin it works with admin/oracle.
But im not able to login to http://dblxamd02.vxindia.veritas.com:8080 when it asks for XDB username and password.
I tried to reset the password using apxxepwd.sql but not luck.
Did anybody observer this issue ? if so can somebody please reply me ASAP ?

There are two wats to install the ILM toolkit:
1) Directly on the server where your instance is located. In this case you do not need to provide a TNS connection name. Therefore, you would execute the script as follows:
@ilma_install.sql pune
2) Remotely from a client. In this case you do need to provide a connection string to your remote database instance. Therefore, you would execute the script as follows:
@ilma_install.sql pune@11
in this scenario the connection details are derived from your TNSNAMES.ORA file. If you have multiple Oracle products installed you have multiple copies of this file and it can be difficult to track down which file is being used. To point to a specific TNSNAMES.ORA I normally set three parameters:
ORACLE_HOME - points to your 11g Client installation directory
PATH - point this to the Oracle home containing SQLPlus, usually this is ORACLE_HOME/bin
TNS_ADMIN = ORACLE_HOME/network/admin
then make sure the TNSNAMES.ORA contains a reference to your identifier "11". You can test the connection by using the TNSPING utility that is part of the 11g client installation. The format for your instance would be:
TNSPING 11
this will tell you if you can connect to your instance. If there are any issues check the connection via the Net Configuration Assistant, or you can edit the TNSNAMES.ORA file directly via Notepad.

Xdb username and password while accessing servlets

I just installed application server 8.2. I wrote a simple login.html and a servlet program. The deployment went fine but when I access from browser and click sunbit in login page, it asks for a xdb username and password. I don't remember giving it during installation. What is this?

I am trying to deauthorized audible account but it is asking for a username and password but when i enter in itunes info it is nt working?? How do i find out what the username is then??

I'm confused. Who told you that you need to deauthorize an Audible account to be able to play your music? Did you ever set up an account with Audible.com? What is happening when you try to play your music? And what exactly do you mean by "sync your iTunes account with your laptop"?
Please provide more details as to your situation and what it is you're trying to accomplish. I'm sure once we understand what it going on, someone can provide suggestions.

So,there was no necessity of creating DNS.How your app communicates with db shouldn't matter for the end user. Still, you may want to use a functional network name also for the thin client driver connection string.
So,is there any other way to solve this problem.What is the problem really? Do you not use dns for network naming? Maybe you have to manage the hosts file on every client then.

Site ask repeatedly for username and password

I have published my site with familiar and personnal images as I´m in different country now and wanted to share with family and friends only, so I password protect the site. But when my friends wanted to navegate, iexplorer and safari ask them repeatedly username and password no matter they checked the box "remember password".
Some says that you must publish the site from the option "publish all to mobile me" and I did it, but still nothing changes.
I´m in the 60 days trial period of the mobileme account and want to keep the site but this password issue has being a real headache with my relatives and friends at distance.

Try verifying your keychain for errors.
Open the /Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access.app
Then from the Application Menu choose keychain firstaid. Putin your username and password click on the Verify button.

After my daughter's Macbook Pro was fixed it asks for a username and password. She doesn't have one! Help!

The hard drive crashed on her Macbook Pro (bought it in 2011) so she brought it to the Apple Store to get fixed. Now when she turns it on there's a blue screen with the Apple Mac OS X sign-in box in the middle asking for her username and password. Look at the manual for the router. The password is on the router. Then change the password in the router to something other than the default one and use that password when the iPod asks for it (it will only ask once, once it has the password/router combo in its memory, it will remember it)

When using a URL it always asks for a username and password

I’ve just started using the Windows version of OracleXE.exe with Apex3.1 and I would like to create a menu web-page holding a list of URL’s that can be configured by inserting records into a simple table. I am having problems with multiple authentication user-name and password. I can read the table and create a URL within a web-page swapping the text “#SESSION#” with the &Session.
But each time I open a new application within the same schema I get the login page (when that user has already connected with their password).
Test data:

From the Application Builder page I choose:
"Create" -> "Create Application" -> “add Page" [I entered the table name x_url_table[and implementation set to classic]] -> “Next” [no tabs] -> “Next” [no for shared components] -> “Next” [Application Express for Authentication] -> “Next” -> “Create”
When I press the run-page-icon it displays the URL like below(if I click-it it does not open webpage):

Push apply button
Press the run-page icon it displays everything correctly (see below) but when I click-the-URL it asks me again for the login screen with a user/password request.
Can this be bypassed?

After Window 10 Upgrade my login Username and password failed

I use Hp Pavilion g6 Notebook PC 32-bit. This morning I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I don't really know if the upgrade was successful completed. At a point a blue screen appeared with a dialog box for me to type in my username and password. When I type in my Username & Password and press enter nothing happens. It will not even tell me whether the Username or password is incorrect. I cannot login into my Laptop again. When I click on Sleep or restart or shutdown, none of these works. I regretted upgrading from windows 7 to windows 10. If I had known I would have remained in Windows 7. At this point now I cannot make use of my Laptop. Please, how do I solve this problem?

I am still waiting for an answer to the problem I complained. I am really regretting upgrading to Windows 10. My major problem now is that I cannot login into my Laptop because the Windows 10 does not recognize my Username & Login password any longer. It does not tell me if the Username & password is right or wrong. If there is anyway I can solve this issue I would be very happy. I use my laptop daily at least 12hrs a day on the internet. Since Friday I am denied internet due to this challenge. This is a very big problem to me.

Dreamweaver CS5 (Windows) does not remember ftp username and password

I have seen this problem mentioned in other threads concerning Mac instalations of Dreamweaver, but this is a Windows installation. I recently installed DW CS5, and it refuses to remember the ftp username and password after I quit the program and restart it later. This was never a problem with CS3. It is extremely annoying. OK, got it fixed. Even though it said it was pointed to the correct directory in "local site folder" I picked it again and then it said something like "rebuilding cache". and it worked.
