Xdo_http_*.dt in /tmp

Hello All,
I tried running the Oracle Base "Accounts Payable Trial Balance(1)" request on our newly upgraded R12.1.3 (test) system. This is by detail version of the report.
The request had to be killed since, it started filling up the /tmp space. One of the file system is at 100%. The request created a large "xdo_http_*.dt" file under /tmp. This is in addition to a large req#.out file for the conc. request.
Does any one know what that file is? Why is getting generated? Any resources, pointers about that file are appreciated.
Some details:
Oracle Apps R12.1.3
OS: IBM AIX on POWER Systems (64-bit) AIX 6.1
DB Version: 11.1.0.x.
Thanks,
Monkey

With this new data template, the conc. request initially errored out with the following message (versus the base report keeps on running filling up the file system to 100% with out any error message in the OPP log or the conc. req. log...necessiating the termination of the req):
JVMDUMP013I Processed dump event "systhrow", detail "java/lang/OutOfMemoryError".
****Warning!!! Due to high volume of data, got out of memory exception...***
****Please retry with scalable option or modify the Data template to run in scalable mode...***
JVMDUMP006I Processing dump event "systhrow", detail "java/lang/OutOfMemoryError" - please wait. Please see scalability options as per these docs.

Below is what I've observed:
1. The data that gets written to the 'gt' table is only "1794279" records. I believe the total of these records matches with the output displayed when the report is run in Summary mode ( but I have no way of validating that...)
2. When the conc. req runs, it is populating the 'gt' table. It is only after it is trying to run my select statement in the data template that it failed with the above message
3. When it runs the select statement in the data template, it still generates "xdo_http_X.dt" file that keeps growing up to 1152773621 (about 1.15gig). At this point the
%Used in the file system grows to 29% and then the req. failed with the above message.
I referred to the notes 390968.1 and 758143.1 for help. Per the note 390968.1, I tried the conc. request with option -Xmx2048m and it finally completes ok (it failed with JVM options for 512mb and 1gig earlier). The out file is around 1.9 gig which I cannot open on my PC (which is kinda pre-historic)
My Questions:
1. Is there any other mode like scalable mode in which such ‘supposedly’ large reports can be run? Pls. note that my data template has the following statement:
<properties>
<property name="scalable_mode" value="on" />
</properties>
<properties><property name="debug_mode" value="on" /></properties>
<properties>
<property name="db_fetch_size" value="20" />
</properties> R12: Troubleshooting Known XML Publisher and E-Business Suite (EBS) Integration Issues [ID 1410160.1] -- === 2.1 XML Data generation ===
2. Now even if the conc. request completes successfully, if the out file itself cannot be opened, how will the rtf template open the output? Should such reports be run as ‘pdf’ so that the final output can be opened?Yes.
3. How much RAM is need on the user PC to be able to open up such large outputs? This should be independent of the memory settings at the application/database tier node. You could download the output file from the application server and see how much is needed to open the output file.
Pls. help……I am kinda lost now. Have you tried to log a SR?
Thanks,
Hussein

The environment currently hosts approximately 100 other reports that are functioning perfectly. These other reports can be scheduled and generated successfully.

If anyone out there has fixed a similar situation, or may have some troubleshooting ideas, please let me know.
    Thanks in advance,
    Geoffrey.

My next suggestion would be to 'peel' the report. Step by step remove a certain formula / functionality etc. to determine what can cause the issue. I once had a WebI report which would get corrupt once I added a certain feature to it. Without it I could save and open it perfectly. You can also try it in reverse and start with a blank (or previously saved) version and start building it, saving in between to verify.
    Hope this helps...

  • Adobe Reader could not open 'A9R7D1F.tmp'

    Greetings~
I have seen others with this issue, but none of their solutions have been able to fix my problem.
When attempting to open a PDF document from a web site, I receive the following error:
"Adobe Reader could not open 'A9R7D1F.tmp' because it is either not a supported file type of because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)."
This is limited to a specific set of computers.  Others within the organization function appropriately.  As such, it is not a web server or network problem.  Here are the specifics of the offending machine(s):  Windows 7, Internet Explorer 8, Adobe Reader 9.3.2.  Note that other machines with this same specs function appropriately.  I have confirmed there are no differing group policies and all are within the same subnet.
Here is what I have tried.  After each item, the browser was closed and/or system rebooted.  Everyone of these tests resulted with the same error.
Deleted all history in IE (cookies, temporary files, history, etc.).
Uninstalll Reader, reboot, re-install Reader, reboot.
Saved the PDF to the local desktop and tried to open that way.
Installed an older version of Reader.
Ensured the following Reader settings are selected: Display PDF in Browser, Allow Fast Web View, Allow Speculative Downloading in the background  (which match machines that are successful).
Ensure IE browser settings are configured to "Automatically" check for newer versions of stored pages.
Ensure PDF document is smaller than allowable disk space limit within IE.
Can anyone help me with this?  I am out of ideas!
    Thank you.

If you are generating files with anything before %PDF, these files are faulty. It's never been allowed, but Reader used to tolerate it for compatibility with an obscure Mac format.

    Hi ...
    PlugIn Path:
    /Users/stuartmann1/Library/Application Support/.XyrisDataPump.tmp
Open a Finder window. Select your Home folder (stuartmann1) in the Sidebar on the left.
Then open the Library folder then the Application Suport folder.
Move the .XyrisDataPump.tmp file form the Applications folder to the Trash.
    Try Safari.

  • Excel automatically create .tmp file when open after close Excel, tmp file still there

Anytime I save a change to one of my Excel files, the TMP file appears in the destination folder and remains.  The "main" Excel file
saves the retains the changes that I made and after each subsequent change, a new TMP file is created...old TMP files are not deleted.  This is only happening with Excel files.

    Hi,
From your description, I understand that  you want .tmp file disappear . If there is any misunderstanding, please feel free to let me know.
This issue can be related to many factors.
First,  try to check out file->save-> Save autorecover information, if you use Excel 2010.
If the problem persists, it may be a permissions problem.
Take ownership of the related file

  • TTReclaim and using a different TMP dir in UNIX

Running out of space in the /tmp. Documentation states the following:
Unable to write to the temporary file used
to spool the headers of reclaimed log
records. Make sure there is enough space
on the disk where your temporary
directory resides or change the location of
your temporary directory by setting the
    TMP environment variable on Windows
or the TMPDIR environment variable on
UNIX. To avoid writing this file all
together, each transaction should limit the
number of deleted rows, deleted varyinglength
    data and updated varying-length

deletes) + (number of deletes to varyinglength
data) + (number of updates to

90, to avoid writing to this file.
    So i have

  • Acrobat 8 professional causing recovered tmp files in trash

I have recently done a clean install of CS3 including Acrobat Pro. I'm getting an occasional bouncing of the Acrobat program icon in the application doc. It acts as if it wants attention, but when you click on it its just open and has no warnings. This is really annoying having to baby sit the app by clicking on the app icon.
Anyway, I'm also getting strange system performance issues. I'll restart and there will be recovered files in the trash. They are all acr1234567.tmp files. They look like Acrobat temp files.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Mac/IntelDuo2.4/2GB/10.5.5
    Much appreciated!
    Evan

Upgrade to 8.1.1 the 8.1.2 should stop the bounce.

  • Is there a way to see if a transport has $TMP assigned to any objects

Is there a way to see if a transport may have items that are in $TMP?

Normally, before assigning object to transport, it will ask you for package. You wont be allowed to collect object in transport with $TMP package assigned to it. Do you find any such instance in your instance?

  • My iTunes library data file has been renamed temp file.tmp

Can I just rename it iTunes Library? It is a functioning iTunes Database file and it works perfectly well - it is just weird!
    I have iTunes 7.6.2 (9).
My library resides on my external hard drive.
In my iTunes folder on that drive, I also find Temp file.tmp.xml and iTunes Library.xml.
I believe this got screwed up on May 31st (that is the last modified date on iTunes Library.xml) when I was showing a slide show in iPhoto which used music from my iTunes library. At one point I disconnected the external drive to use the USB cable to upload photos to iPhoto from another camera.
I have read through a lot of the discussion topics about library issues and temp files, but cannot find anything that deals with this issue to answer my question.
Thanks to anyone who can help.

    Never mind.
I copied it and renamed it and all is well.

For security reasons some admin put restrictions on the /tmp directory (for a good reason). You can change the default setting of the tmp directory used during installation by setting the environment variables TMP and TEMP to a different directory. Don't forget to set BOTH!!! variables.

    Hi,
    you try following steps:--
    (1) create oracle user with oinstall and dba group.
    (2) chown -R oracle:oinstall /install directory(like /diask1/app/oaradata/1020).
    (3)chmod 775 /disk1/app/oradata/1020.
    (4)chown -R oracle:dba /disk1/app/oradata/1020.
    (5)chmod 775 /disk1/app/oradata/1020
    (6) watch carefully the oracle check at the time of initial install.
If anything is failed due to gcc packeage or because of some other reason then you have to rectify first.
you also need to configure /etc/sysctl.conf for kernel parameter in which you have to define shmmax size half of the ram.
you also need to run xhost + from root and then start installation once u r done with the configuration.

    MK
