Xfce4 packages to be replaced by xfce4-svn packages??

Dear Arch fellow users,
since a few days it seems impossible to to an pacman -Suy upgrade on my Arch i686 box with xfce4. It gives me the following result:

Is this a temporary phenomenon, or are we supposed to switch to xfce4-svn? If yes, is xfce4-svn stable enough for a reliable workhorse?
And additionally how could one upgrade to xfce4-svn since I get an error message error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
I hope someone will help me out. Just a week a ago I gathered sufficient courage to turn my bloated and slowly running Ubuntu laptop (for professional use) into revitalized Arch box

Thanks for your quick replies guys!
I think you could successfully participate in the contest "the members who are responding faster than their shadows.....":D
Cerebral you might be right. Also I few days ago I followed the advice of Tardo in the following thread http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=34566 and I installed the xfburn-svn-25797-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz in my quest for a  to get a lightweight burner with pacman -U. How do I get rid of it? Just pacman -R xfburn-svn-25797-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz ?? I installed that package since neither graveman (hangs) nor hacburn (can not detect my device) are working. I like k3b but not the bunch and MBs of dependencies.
I will review the AUR and ABS wiki page on how to get rid of the xfburn-svn package....:P
Thanks again for your quick responses!;)

    Hi Kenny,
    It seems like you are using Excel as source file right? If yes, then please follow below steps:
    Edit the job step and Check the option: Use 32 bit run time. Below is the screenshot for the same.

  • Call child package x number of times from parent package

    I have a child package that I need to call x (10 or less) number of times and have those all run at the same time. The parent package should kick them off either simultaneously or one after the other, but the parent package should not complete until all
    child packages have completed. I will be sending a different parameter value to the child package for each process.
    How can I do this in SSIS without hard-coding several Execute Package Tasks with the same package but different parameter values?

    This is an odd distributed computing with SSIS, but I think you can try placing the children package into a ForLoop. But it will run sequentially. Another option is to generate/start Agent jobs with SSIS step(s) that runs the package(s), but then there is
    no master package as such and it all completes whenever.
    PS: In my experience this design/approached is more often ends with hands thrown out into the air after all the hair is pulled than it actually works.

  • Packaging Linux AIR app as a native package (.deb)?

    Ok, so I've been tasked with packaging an AIR app in a system package. We got a redistrubution license for AIR so I think we are good in that respect but I run into an unfortunate predicament when trying to do a silent install from a deb:
    Both AIR runtime and AIR applicaiton generate a native package (.deb in this case) during install. So even though I can run silent install from my own deb, it fails to install as it cannot install a deb during installation of a deb. I am assuming that even if I could somehow grab the generated deb file, it would be against the license agreement to do so.
    So, any thoughts as to how to get this accomplished? Is there an alternative distribution of an app that comes as a native ".deb" file? Or is there a command line option that disables a native package management install? ( I can seem to find no information on any command line options for the bin installer)
    Thanks.

    Suppose in a Package Spec there are 3 functions and Package Body there are 5 functions will the package compile?

    Rather than asking these basic one-liner questions (When a package is created how many database objects are created?) why don't you explain what issues you are experiencing after you've read the documentation and tried things yourself.
    The forums are for people to help when they experience issues, not when they can't be bothered to read the documentation or searcht the web for the basic information that's already explained.

  • Does anyone have a gmpc-svn package for me?

    I'm trying to build gmpc-svn but the current configure script is broken.
    Who's got a recent package for gmpc-svn I can download? Thanks a lot in advance.

    Check the AUR for gmpc-plugins-svn!
    When I first ran gmpc-svn, I got a cool track listing of the current album under "Information" but that doesn't work anymore. Any ideas?

    Found it: gmpc shouldn't be in mini or playlist mode. Just regular gmpc.

  • [Suggestion] About git,svn package

    I recently want to use git pacakge to get 3d enable on my machine, but I found that it is hard to change git package to the normal one even if normal one updates.
    So I hope PKGBUILD can make package version like this way: [offical version].git[git verseion]
    like mesa-git:
    mesa-7.7.git20100118
    so when mesa is updated to 7.8, we can also change it to the offical version with a simple yaourt -Syu.
    This can be done like following:
    pkgbase="mesa-git"
    pkgname=('mesa' 'libgl' 'ati-dri')
    pkgver=20100119
    _realver=7.7
    pkgrel=1

    url="http://mesa3d.sourceforge.net"
    license=('custom')
    options=(!makeflags)

    As you can see, gitver is set to be pkgver and for each package, its pkgver is set to "${_realver}.git$gitver", so we can also get the feature from makepkg ver update, and make packages of simple git version .
    we will get libgl-7.7.git20100119-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz mesa-7.7.git20100119-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz ati-dir-7.7.git20100119-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz from the pkgbuild before.
    And for a package don't need split, a dumb pacakage must be added in pkgname, like following one:
    pkgbase=libdrm-git
    pkgname=("libdrm" "dumb")
    pkgver=20100119
    _realver=2.4.17

    And for a package don't need split, a dumb pacakage must be added in pkgname, like following one:
    pkgbase=libdrm-git
    pkgname=("libdrm" "dumb")
    pkgver=20100119
    _realver=2.4.17
    pkgrel=1
    pkgdesc="Userspace interface to kernel DRM services"
    arch=('i686' 'x86_64')
    depends=('glibc')
    options=('!libtool')
    url="http://dri.freedesktop.org/"
    license=('custom')
    replaces=('libdrm>=2.4.12')
    groups=('xorg')
    source=(no-pthread-stubs.patch)
    md5sums=()
    export gitver=$pkgver
    _gitroot="http://anongit.freedesktop.org/git/mesa/drm.git"
    _gitname="drm"
    build() {

  • Replacement for j2ee1.3 packager in j2ee1.4?

    Anyone have an example of how to use Ant tasks to replace the packaging
    of ejb jar and client jar files via command-line? The doc referred me to the
    J2EE 1.4 tutorial, but a quick browse found a number of Ant tasks, but none
    that I could identify as "this is the one that packages the EJB jar" or "this is
    the one that packages the app client "jar"... :-( (A reference to which example
    in the tutorial would work :-))
    I found the generic ejb-jar task in Ant 1.5 - but not something I could use
    to create the app client jar...
    Thank you!
    Moises

    The J2EE 1.4 Tutorial only uses deploytool to package modules, mainly because the hard part is creating the deployment descriptor, and deploytool does this automatically for you.
    The samples included in the J2EE 1.4 SDK include Ant tasks for packaging EJB JARs and application clients. To get the samples, you either need to install the full J2EE 1.4 SDK and choose to include the samples domain during installation, or install the samples bundle itself. Both can be downloaded from:

  • [SOLVED] aMule becomes SVN package

    I like the idea, I've been compiling a Git for some time now and this would make things much easier.
    some questions..
    Is the stable release still going to feature?
    if so, shouldn't this be named amule-svn?
    How often is it going to be updated?
    cheers

  • Xfce4-power-manager & change icon in Xfce4 panel

    Hello!
    I'm trying to change the appearance for the latest xfce4-power-manager (v1.4.1-2). I use elementary Xfce icons. The former xfce4-power-manager was using the correct (simple black & white) elementary icon in the notification area in the Xfce4 panel. With the latest version, where xfce4-power-manager has to be added manually to the panel, it is using some kind of colourful icon.
    Is there some way to tell the program to use the elementary icons instead? I've already tried to edit /usr/share/applications/xfce4-power-manager-settings.desktop. But no dice.
    Thanks in advance.

    Do you know the location of both, the simple black & white icon and the colourful one?
    If you do, you can try the following. Backup the original colourful one and paste a copy of the one you want to use in the same location and with the same name.
    Afterwards check if the result is the one you want.
    I have myself come across the situation of wanting to change an icon through the .desktop file but in the end it seems that some icons, even in this case maybe?, are hardcoded and can't be changed through a .desktop file.
    More than willing for someone to proof me wrong though!

  • Unable to install mono-svn package

    I downloaded the tarball (which contained the makepkg) from aur and built the package (took forever ). Now when trying to install the package, I get this. This is only about half of it because gnome-terminal only saves so much.

    yes I do have mono installed, but the real question is: if it conflicts with it as you say, then why does it depend on it??
    "depends=('glib2' 'mono')" - taken from the current pkgbuild.
