Xi adapter in Multimapping.

Hello friends,
          Here i am facing a problem in my scenario. the actual scenario is i will be getting an XML file. the data which i am getting needs to be sent to two SAP servers. one is ECC and the other is CRM. here we decided to go for proxies. here my doubts  are.
     As i need to split the data in XI can we use XI adapter in multimapping.
     Is XI adapter resides on Adapter engine ....  (as multimapping supports for adapters residing on adapter engine)
     if this is not the solution can any one please help me with the suitable solution.
Thanks
Ramana

hi  Aamir,
          Till now i am having a thought of implementing the solution as
Illustration of Multi-Mapping and Message Split using BPM in SAP Exchange Infrastructure
please go through it once and let me know ur recommended solution. But my only doubt in implementing the above blog is that whether we can use XI adapter on receiver side or not. please guide me. Appreciate your patience.
Thanks,
Ramana.

  • Usage of Variable Transport Binding(Receiver SOAP adapter) in multimapping

    Hi All,
    Mentioned below is the flow of the scenario that I am facing issues with:
    ECC -> PI (A) -> PI (B) - Receivers(1,2,3..n)
    I am working on PI(A).
    An Idoc containing multiple Plants is triggered which is mapped to an XML in PI(A).
    Depending on the number of Plants in the Idocs, that many XMLs are created in PI(A) using multimapping.
    These XMLs are then sent to PI(B) which would route it to different receivers.
    But PI(A) should send the party name to PI(B) for routing.
    For this I am using dynamic configuration. If there are 'N' party names based on 'N' plants, always the last part name is being sent to PI(B).
    Is it possible to send all the party names associated with each XML(/plant) without overriding?
    As mentioned in the below table, an Idoc is triggered with 3 Plants. 3 XMLs are generated each for a different party. But only the last party i.e. C is being sent to PI(B) using dynamic configuration overriding A and B.
    Plant
    Party Name
    Output
    1
    A
    2
    B
    3
    C
    C
    Please help me to resolve this issue.
    Regards,
    Vishal

    Hello,
    DC is not supported in multimapping.
    But, where exactly u want to send the party name? In the xml file u want that party name to be there?
    If yes, then there are 2 options either use AM as shown below or u can use variable substitution (search SDN u will find quite a few blogs/wiki on the same)

  • SP14 Multi-mapping - error in receiver idoc adapter

    Hi,
    I have a scenario where a business service should send some XML to SAP CRM. I get the file via a sender JMS adapter and try to post it to CRM via a receiver IDOC adapter.
    I have created a multimapping (1:N - 1 XML file to many Idocs) as should in the repository.
    In the configuration under Interface Determination, I have chosen 'RB_SPLIT' and selected the interface multimapping.
    It should be pointed out, that when testing both interface and message mapping i get no error. All idocs seem to be created as they should.
    When testing the setup 'real life' the message fails. The error message in the monitor says:
    - <!--  Call Adapter
      -->
    - <SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="">
      <SAP:Category>XIAdapter</SAP:Category>
      <SAP:Code area="IDOC_ADAPTER">ATTRIBUTE_WRONG_INTF</SAP:Code>
      <SAP:P1>InterfaceCollection</SAP:P1>
      <SAP:P2 />
      <SAP:P3 />
      <SAP:P4 />
      <SAP:AdditionalText />
      <SAP:ApplicationFaultMessage namespace="" />
      <SAP:Stack>Unable to interpret IDoc interface InterfaceCollection</SAP:Stack>
      <SAP:Retry>M</SAP:Retry>
      </SAP:Error>
    Notice that the above error is when trying to send only 1 record, which in turn then should result in only 1 idoc.
    If trying to send multiple XML records, i get the following error:
    - <!--  Technical Routing
      -->
    - <SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="">
      <SAP:Category>XIServer</SAP:Category>
      <SAP:Code area="OUTBINDING">MMF_ENGINETYPE</SAP:Code>
      <SAP:P1 />
      <SAP:P2 />
      <SAP:P3 />
      <SAP:P4 />
      <SAP:AdditionalText />
      <SAP:ApplicationFaultMessage namespace="" />
      <SAP:Stack>A system error occurred in the outbound binding</SAP:Stack>
      <SAP:Retry>M</SAP:Retry>
      </SAP:Error>
    In the monitor in the payload of 'Request message mapping' I see as many Maindocument, Submaindocument pairs as should be Idocs.
    Now i really don't know how to interpret the error messages in both cases, so I'm a little lost here...
    It should be pointed out that the idoc being used everywhere in this scenario, has not been modified - from all places it is being used (and only exists) in the 'Imported objects | Idocs' place.
    Also the Idoc is also being used as Inbound interface - so no mistakes here either.
    I really hope someone can help me here, as I'm otherwise pretty stuck in this case.
    Best regards,
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,
    I have exactly the same type of scenario (under SPS14 and now also SPS15), sending an XML message over JMS to XI and trying a multi-mapping to many IDocs (actually a list of orders in XML is mapped to n ORDERS Idocs).
    I also face problems doing so, when I use the IDoc Adapter as outbound in the Receiver Agreement. I receive the following error:
    <i>CO_TXT_MMF_ENGINETYPE
    Messages in multi message format can be sent to one adapter engine only</i>
    However, I tested the same scenario by just changing the Receiver Agreement to a File Communication Channel and - surprise, surprise - it works. One file per IDoc is created.
    Of course, this is not what we want to accomplish, but when I checked this piece of documentation (sorry another link
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/42/ed364cf8593eebe10000000a1553f7/content.htm
    the IDoc adapter is not listed in the list of Adapters that are supported. Does that mean, that this feature is not supported for generating IDocs? Maybe that's a question for a SAP OSS Message?
    I hope that helped you a little further - if you find out more I'd be happy to learn about it.
    regards,
    Peter

  • Veriable substitution issue in multimapping

    Hi Experts,
    I am working on the requirement where i need to create multiple flat files using multimapping for this. I am working on SAP PI 7.31 SP07, using SFTP adapter and messagetransformbean to create flat files.
    I am going for the variable substitution option as i want file name should be dynamic.(considering limitation of ASMA and dynamic configuration in
    multimapping)
    Getting the error "The variable substitution cannot be parse the message xml: Content is not allowed in prolog"
    Variable name- var1 reference- payload:NotificationAttachments,1,DocumentDetails,1,IncidentNumber,1
    Output struture-
    NotificationAttachments(1)
         ->DocumentDetails(0-n)
                   ->IncidentNumber(1)
                   ->DocNumber(1)
                   ->DocDescription(1)
                   ->Path(1)
    Please note one file can have multiple DocumentDetails.
    When i use reference for header data i.e. message:interface_name this works fine, but i want ot use IncidentNumber in file name from the payload.
    Can some one tell me is there something wrong on configuration, or there is some limitation here.
    Appreciate quick help.
    Thanks,
    Sandip

  • Problem in Variable Substitution (Receiver File Adapter)

    Hi,
    I am facing problem in the variable substitution in receiver file Communication channel. My expected file name is A_C.xml; but my actual output filename obtained is C_C.xml for the below example target file:
    <ProductionSch>
    <CustomField>
    <value>
    <ValueString>A</ValueString>
    </value>
    </CustomField>
    <CustomField>
    <value>
    <ValueString>B</ValueString>
    </value>
    </CustomField>
    <CustomField>
    <value>
    <ValueString>C</ValueString>
    </value>
    </CustomField>
    </ProductionSch>
    I have used the following parameters in the file communication channel:
    File Name Schema: %var1%_%var2%.xml
    Variable Substitution:
    Variable Name                     Reference
    var1                                     payload:ProductionSch,1,CustomField,1,value,1,ValueString,1
    var2                                     payload:ProductionSch,1,CustomField,3,value,1,ValueString,1
    When I try using either of the one in the file name schema and the corresponding variable reference in the variable substitution I am getting the correct output filename as A.xml or C.xml. However, when I give either of the one variable in file name schema and both the variable references in the variable substitution I am getting only C.xml as per the example file.
    Can any of you suggest me where I am wrong or any other suggestion which I can try?
    I cannot use dynamic configuration as I am using multimapping. Multiple file names cannot be generated using dynamic configuration.
    Regards
    Sowmya

    hi Sowmya,
    refer you to this [Note 1581988 - Variable Substitution option does not work properly|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1581988] (2011.05), as SAP says " when there is more than one variable using the same name as the last element, File Adapter does not select the correct one.... ".

  • Configuring Receiver mail adapter with dynamic email addresses

    Hi,
    I'm a newbie to XI and I have problems in configuring the Receiver mail adapter with the "Use Mail package" option selected. I am trying pickup a file (using file adapter on Sender side, picks up a simple XML file) and after mapping in XI, send the message as an email message to dynamic email addresses.
    Everything works fine if I did not select the "Use Mail Package". But when I choose that option it errors out. I followed this blog posted on SDN -
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/07/mail-adapter-xi--how-to-implement-dynamic-mail-address
    The following XML message is my source
    <ns0:Messages xmlns:ns0="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Somenamespace">
       <ns0:Message1>
          <ns1:studentlisttest xmlns:ns1="urn:karthiksender_to_karthikreceiver">
             <Student>
                <studentid>1</studentid>
                <lastname>Studentlastname</lastname>
                <firstname>Studentfirstname</firstname>
             </Student>
             <Mail>
                <From>[email protected]</From>
                <To>[email protected]</To>
                <Subject>Test mail adapter</Subject>
             </Mail>
          </ns1:studentlisttest>
       </ns0:Message1>
    </ns0:Messages>
    What I want to accomplish is, I have a simple message mapping where the Studentdetails are mapped to, lets say Customer details. For convenience lets keep it simple, StudentId --> Customerid, (student)Firstname --> (customer)Firstname, (Student)Lastname --> (customer)Lastname
    I would like to get the Customer details as an XML attachment or in the body of an email with from, to and subject corresponding to that specified in the <Mail> node.
    I followed the instructions posted on the blog and it works fine if I don't map the studentdetails to customerdetails. I did multimapping, with one source message (the xml file I posted above) and two target messages (customerdetails and Mail, which is the external definition posted on the blog). I beleive I'm missing something here. Could somebody please guide me through this?
    Thanks

    hi,
    I still have not found the solution for this problem. Michal, your blog works fine when my source message has got only the mail details. As per your advice, I tried modified the structure of the xsd file as follows

    I'm definitely not understanding it right and am missing something. Could you give me step by step instructions to acheive this. I apologize for the trouble..this would be of great help to me.

  • Sender adapter processing based on done file content

    hi
    sender system creates a done file, after the creating of actual file. SAP PO 7.4 first need to read the done file for the list of files to be processed from the same folder.
    for eg:
    source folder files:
    xxx11092014.xml
    yyy11092014.xml
    zzz10092014.xml
    done11092014.xml
    content of done file:
    <files>
    xxx11092014.xml
    zzz10092014.xml
    <files>
    In SAP PO 7,4 first need to read the done file, based on the content of the file xxx11092014.xml & zzz10092014.xml need to be processed in sap po and
    all the three file xxx11092014.xml, zzz10092014.xml & done11092014.xml need to be deleted. leaving behind the yyy11092014.xml for which new done file will be created..
    Could anyone please throw some light on this scenario to implement???

    Hi,
    Please check below steps helpful for your requirement by creating two flows and additional files.
    Interface1: This interface to read the filenames from done*.xml and generate the additional files with same name with different extension like xxx11092014.txt and zzz10092014.txt for interface2 to pick.
    1. Configure your sender CC to pick file done*.xml
    2. Use multimapping to create multiple messages based on how many files under <files>
    3. Create additional files in receiver file adapter with same name with different extension by using variable substitution.
    One IDOC to Multiple Files sending to Multiple folders of the FTP using single Communication Channel (SAP XI-PI Process …
    Interface2: This interface to pick files having only additional files with same namepart
    1. Configure your sender CC to pick files having additional files by enabling Additional Files

  • Receiver File Adapter with File content Conversion

    I have a requirement to send 2 different files to the target directory. Source is the same and different mapping for the 2 files.
    This I can achieve through multi-mapping but there is a problem. How can I use the File content for receiver File adapter which is using Multimapping.
    The structure of the 2 files also different.

    Why would you need FCC on receiver file adapter? If you need different files to be generated from the source, you could create two receiver channels with different mappings and just add them to the same Receiver Detemination. Isn't feasible?

    Hello,
    I am Updating a SQL Server Table using JDBC Adapter.
    Now I have multiple input rows and the procedure needs to be called for each set.
    Do I need to use multimapping for this or just generating multiple <b>Statement</b> node will solve?
    Also For this will there is any knows/ forseen problem (like Transaction handling) that I need to take care of?

    Himadri,
    You can just create multiple statement nodes in one message.
    I am not aware of any known or foreseen issues with this approach.

  • Dynamic Mail Adapter Config

    Hi All,
    We're trying to use a dynamic mail direction in the mail adapter checking the Mail Package option as it's mentioned in: /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/07/mail-adapter-xi--how-to-implement-dynamic-mail-address (excellent blog).
    But we have a mapping error in the SXMB_MONI:
    RuntimeException in Message-Mapping transformation: Cannot produce target element /ns0:Messages
    In the mapping we have one source message with the content of the mail and the direction, and two different structures for target. One with the mail package structure and the other with the target content.
    Do you have any idea why we're having this mapping error?
    Thanks in advance!

    I'm trying to use the dynamic adress for mail adapter. So I've created an external object from the file mentioned in https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/1361. [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]
    Then I've done a multimapping, first message with the mail payload and the second with the contents of the mail.
    In configuration, I've checked the Mail Package option and execute the interface.
    Sender adapter and mapping was right, but there is an error in the mail adapter as follows:
    error occured: [2006-05-29T14:38:31Z] unable to call the mailer; com.sap.aii.messaging.srt.BubbleException: Failed to call the endpoint [null "null"]; nested exception caused by: com.sap.aii.messaging.util.XMLScanException: expecting start tag: Mail, but found MM57_V01_COM_MONTH_MAIL_FILE at state 1
    Any idea about this?
    Thanks in advance!!!!

  • PI 73 sp2 - issue with multimapping

    We are having a strange issue in PI 73 sp2. We recently upgraded from PI 711 to PI 73 and migrated all our development artifacts over to the new instance. We have a multimapping scenario (1:3) which was working fine in the PI 711 instance is not working anymore in the new PI 73 instance.
    It is a
                                       SOAP (AE) -> IE -> JDBC/ABAP Proxy
    scenario.
    We can see the payload in the RWB in Comm Channel monitoring but when it comes to the IE, mapping runtime is receiving an empty payload and the mapping fails.
    Has anyone encountered any such issue ? I am hoping that someone can point me to a OSS note as it doesnt seem like anything is wrong with the interface as such. It was working just fine in the PI 711 instance and no changes were made in the new instance.
    Thanks

    Gabriel .. we are using the SOAP Adapter, we did update the meta-data to the PI BASIS 7.30 version. We are able to see the payload in the RWB in the SOAP Sender channel.
    On further research, we noticed that the mappings migrated over from the PI 711 box to the PI 730 box are not working as designed as the contexts seem to be messed up. Hence, the sequence of execution is haywire and causing lot of errors. I am not sure if anyone else is facing similar issues.
    Thanks

  • Mail adapter scenario

    Hi
    I require some input on including a mail adapter to an existing scenario
    The scenarios is as follows,
    I have to create some files around 20 and place them in two folders , that build has been done and tested , so I have a multi mapping , for those 20 files , and enhanced interface determination and is working fine
    Now a new requirement is to send an email ,
    kindly  tell me the steps in IR and ID to include the mail adapter in this interface ??
    considering it as an additional feature, nthing to do with Files ,,,
    which means that an email adapter has to be called with the file adapters ( not before not after....the precedence doesnt matter )
    its just that along with creating the files an email has to be sent ... thats all
    I want to know what am i required to create :
    in IR : is there a separate interface required .. smthing to do in mapping also ? i am presuming not since it is inbound
    in ID  : can i create a dummy busines service  and what all do i need to create ???
    please help
    thanks
    Dev

    Hi,
    You create a message type for mail adapter and an message interface. You can also use the predefined message type from sap. So now in multimapping you add this message type and map from your source to this mail mapping. Add the same message interface in interface mapping.
    Create a mail receiver communicaiton channel with your mailbox parameters. Then add this to your receiver determination. Also you need to create a receiver agreement for this one.
    You can see some help here:

    You can do a search for more blogs and tutorials on mail adapter.

  • Adapter module for file renaming

    Hi all,
    I want to rename a file before writing into target directory. Is it possible to do this using adapter module? Im using File adapter at the sender and receiver.
    I tried renaming the file using DynamicConfiguration method.I want some custom constants to be added to the file name. I want to know if file renaming is possible by writing an Adapter module ..
    Thanks

    Rahul~
    Writing a module would be too much effort deploying and using..Instead u can use a dummy mapping to target and use a piece of Java code for transformation..
    chk my blog will save u effort..XSL may not be required in ur case

  • File Adapter Module PayloadZipBean

    Need to Unzip with multiple files of payload and zip while writing into the target.
    Zip file picked and read only the first payload, Which will be the standard case using this module. But my request here is, if there is any alternative to read multiple of payloads at the same time. Rather place 5 files, the vendor sending as zipped one's. The Adapter reads as one payload, but it's not processing as expected. Kinda of MultiMap. But we have 50 different interfaces one of them processing certain file based conditions.
    Please advice, if there is an alternate method with out going the custom module route. Or a built in future which i am not looking at
    Appreciated

    You can try and executing an OS command that unzips the file to a specific directory prior to the PI processing. Remove the ZIP file after unzipping. A second file communication channel can then pick up the files from the second directory.
    Perhaps not a pretty soluction, but it'll work.
