Is there really a bug in the ejb-j2ee-engine.xml - File ?
Did anyone have similiar problems ?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Frank
Hi Frank,
we also have encountered this problem.
This the problem with the XML File. XML File is not properly formed.
You have to search for the mdt.sda file becuase during installation it hangs up during the deployment of mdt.sda file and then you can look for xml file in at mdt.sda file.
This problem comes because of the SPACE are there in the XML file.
This would resolve your problem.

SQLServer2012-KB2716442-x64 failing during installation
I tried to install recent update for SQL server 2012 and I cannot:
SQLServer2012-KB2716442-x64 failing during installation, both Windows Update and manual setup.
The last entry in log before rollback is following:

10/10/2012 19:11:15.917 Media ScenarioEngine.exe returned exit code: 0x858C001EThis is the root cause
The machine is clustered, but the cluster is not online or cannot be accessed from one of its nodes. To continue determine why the cluster is not online and rerun setup instead of rerunning the rule since the rule can no longer detect a cluster environment
correctly.
I see from the summary log that the installed instances are not clustered, I would suggest the following if the machine is cluster enabled try to see why is the cluster is not online
Second if the machine is not clustered below thread suggest that this ruel is being excuted though the machine is not c;ustered due to media corruption, one advice here is to re-download the patch, decompress it to local folder then run setup from local
folder
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/sqlgetstarted/thread/86d3ca43-287a-4195-bc6f-3752215e09df
to decompress patch run the following command
<patch.exe> /x:"c:\SQLServer2012CU"
the launch setup from c:\SQLServer2012CU

11g - opmnctl reload fail during installation
hi, experts.
during installation, the task "opmnctl reload" failed. I click "retry", it skipped this task.
any impact by this?Hi stephen,
Check out the log files related to installing you may find what is the cause. My assumption is that it is related to Cluster environment install. If you are not doing cluster install this skip doesnt effect your installation or it wont cause later on any issues. You can go ahead.
Drive\obiee\instances\instance1\diagnostics\logs\ for log files verification.
you can go through these steps for installation http://www.skurabigroup.com/blog/?p=719
Hope helps you.mark points.

Database cache failed during installation !!!!
Hello Guys,
Database cache has failed during my installation !!!
I have re-started it using wtacca -create -custom, but after 23% it gives
a error
connecting to the cache failed
reason ORA -01034: ORACLE NOT AVAILABLE
ORA -27101 - SHARED REALM DOES NOT EXISTS
SVR 4 ERROR 2: NO SUCH FILE OR DIRECTORY
My client is behind me for this issue, if anybody has come across
this problem let me know, I did'nt do any changes to tnsnames.ora or listener.ora
in 9IAS machine !!
In one machine 8.1.7 is running and 9ias is running on another machine and this
on Sun Solaris 7 environment !!!
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated !!!
A.Kishore
nullHi Oliver,
normally the listener is installed by SAPINST during installation of the database instance. On which stage of the installation are you ? What is already installed ? What is your installation order of central instance, database instance, system central service instance(s) ?
Additionally you can try to start the listener via command line with user <sid>adm "lsnrctl start" (if the listener name is "LISTENER". At least on UX this works, hopefully on Windows as well ;-).

Since it seemed to help some folks that were having trouble downloading the NIS updates, I have also tried downloading the updates with (winhttp) Proxy authentication on and off.
I have also tried recreating the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder (Stop wuauserv; Rename folder; Start wuauserv; Folder recreated)
Still no luck. Any help or direction you can provide is much appreciated.
Cheers,
John
Hi,
Thank you for the post.
I did some research regarding error “0x80070005”, you may perform the following steps and see if it helps:
Step 1: Verify DCOM security
1. Click Start, click Run, type Dcomcnfg, and then click OK.
2. Expand Component Services, and then expand Computers.
3. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
4. Click the COM Security tab.
5. Under Access Permissions, click Edit Default.
6. Verify that the following accounts are listed:
7. If any one of these accounts is missing in the Access Permission box, follow these steps:
a. Click Add, click Advanced, and then click Locations.
b. In the Locations box, click the Local_Computer_Name, and then click OK.
c. Click Find Now.
d. Press CTRL, click the required account names, and then click OK two times.
e. In the Group or User names box, click an account that you added, click Local Access in the Permissions for Account_Name box, and then click to select the check box in the Allow column.
f. Repeat step 7e for all the accounts that you just added, and then click OK.
Step 2: Verify DCOM default properties
1. Click the Default Properties tab.
2. Verify that the following configuration:
• The Enable Distributed COM on this computer check box is selected.
• In the Default Authentication level box, Connect is selected.
• In the Default Impersonation level box, Identify is selected.
3. Make any required changes, and then click OK.
4. Restart the computer.

Installation fails during Installation on hardware
I downloaded Yosemite but while installing on my hardware "Macintosh HD" I get a message that there problems coming up during the installation and I can do a restart (which now I did for 8 times and I always got stuck when 19 minutes remained of the installation progress)
The list of problems is huge (like over 500 and I don't really know what to do know)
the problem is that I don't have a back up at hand...how can I stop the installation and get back to mavericks?
Best, P.Hello Trevor -
This reply is conjecture based on facts...I don't think
Win08-64bit is supported.
Facts:
The operating system needs a mechanism for organizing and
managing disk partitions; Windows Server 2008 provides two
partitioning styles: Master Boot Record (MBR) or GUID Partition
Table (GPT).
Master boot record (MBR) disks use the standard BIOS
partition table originally developed for x86-based computer systems
and is the most common style in use.
GUID partition table (GPT) disks use extensible firmware
interface (EFI) originally developed for 64-bit Itanium based
systems (advantages of GPT disks are more than four partitions on
each disk and supports disks larger than 2 terabytes).
Windows Server 2008x86 32-bit and 64-bit systems support MBR
and GPT partition styles. Note: 32-bit systems can only boot from
MBR disk partitions and 64-bit systems can boot from GPT
partitions.
Each partition style has different capabilities and
partitioning styles. The two partition styles have very different
configurations in terms of special mandatory partitions. In
addition, other mandatory partitions are required on each disk
style to operate as boot and system disks. In terms of MBR disks a
master boot record (MBR) partition is required. On GPT disks, EFI
system (ESP) and Microsoft Reserved (MSR) partitions must be
present for the disk to be bootable.
Fact:
The RoboHelp installer writes to the Master Boot Record (it
is by definition a "root kit") where your registration information
is stored.
Conjecture:
The RH installation can fail if:
a) the MBR is write protected (to protect the drive from
viruses and root kits) or
b) the hard drive does not have a Master Boot Record.
Thus, if your 64-bit server uses GPT partitions (you implied
this when you wrote "Windows Server 2008 64-bit") then the RH
installation may fail as there is no MBR to write to.
This is all conjecture on my part. You will need
confirmation/explanation from Adobe developers.

Leopard Installer Fails During Installation
While installing Leopard Server on a PowerMac G5, the installer continuously fails. The errors states it is due to damaged media. I have 22 copies of Apple-provided media through my paid maintenance program and each copy I try the installer fails.
During each attempt, I have wiped the drive(s) for a clean install. All of the hardware is OK. I can install 10.4 with no problems and its been running since 10.3.
The computer:
Power Mac G5, dual 2GHz (PCI-X model)
8 GB RAM
2 - 500GB HDDs
Bluetooth
AirPort Extreme
Nvidia 6800 Ultra (Apple-branded and not a mod'ed retail)
The firmware(s) are all up to date and all of the hardware is Apple branded.
My only inclination so far is that the video card may not work with 10.5 Server. I don't want to answer my own question, but does anyone know of something in print that could state that the Nvidia 6800 Ultra is incompatible with 10.5 Server? Or how about this, has anyone had similar problems with solutions? I am going to try another video card, but I need to get my hands on an AGP card that'll work with this PMG5.Glad to hear it worked.
There's a thread growing to epic proportions with a couple intersting theories on the cause at
http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=5802703#5802703
To me it looked like OS X had trouble addressing my 2nd RAM slot. I did try using a single module in the 2nd slot but it failed again. Only when the 2nd slot was empty would it succeed. Of course, like you, I'm not particularly inclined to look further. I have real work to do and Apple doesn't pay me to debug! -
Sun Java System Access Manager 7.1 config. failed during installation
{color:#0000ff}Hi,
I have installed sun java communication suite 5 on a single host on sun solaris 10.
I have installed required packages and it works fine.
But as per organization need, I have to change domain name.
So i have uninstalled everything and tried to install again with new domain name.
I have made proper entries in hosts file and resolve.conf file.
But duing the first phase of installation only , i failed in configuring access manager 7.1
I have also cerate same scenario in my test environment, but everytime i face the same error.
and sun java access manager 7.1 fails in first stage of installation only.
So would like to know the proper installation procedure while i change the domain name on same hardware...
I have checked both installation logs & summary logs.
But no error, no failed , no severe.

Database Configuration Assistant fails during installation Oracle EE 8.1.7
My machine runs RH 6.2 and I have tried to install it Oracle. After executing all pre-instalation steps, I run ./runInstall and instalation process goes on. I select Typical Instalation and instalation proceeds until 100%, when OUI tries to configure Net 8 Assistant and Database Configuration Assistant. Both applications fail in this phase. Unfortunately, OUI shows a message (for Database Configuration Assistant) informing that /u01/.../JRE/bin/jre does not exist. However, I have installed JDK 118 and JRE link seems correct, so that I can access JDK directory throught JRE link.
HELP, HELP!!!

SSO Configuration Assistant failed.
I have checked thelog files but there is nothing in that.
in the hosts file I have given fully qualiifed name as "nufastserver.local.nu"
Can any bosy help me in this problem. I have tried reinstalling the OS also but the problem is still there at the same placeI had exactly the same poblem on a red hat 64bit OS on the infrastructure install.
But while trying to start opmn manually (that is definitely not to do to solve the problem). I had the error telling me that the shared library libdb.so.2 was not accessible.
I did add the compat-db-4xxxxx.i386.rpm and then retry the check. Then all passed threw.
To note that the .log file from the install says definitely nothing about this and that just trying to start the opmn did create another .log that gave me the file problem.
Hope it can help for 64bit linux OS installation. -
Agent Configuration Assistant failed during installation of Oracle 9i
Hi,
Currently having problem with installing Oracle 9i R2 (9.2.0.4) on Redhat. Am getting this error:
Parameter "orahome" = /apps/oracle/product/9.2.0.4/db_1
Parameter "nodeinfo" = NO_VALUE
Agent Service Failed
Does anyone has a solution on this?
Thanks,
JayArrLets start with the basics. There is no such thing as Oracle 9i.
Yes I know Oracle years ago used it as a marketing label but to help you we need the exact version to 3 decimal places.
Either way the version you are just now installing is so old it will be unsupported? Why are you installing Neolithic software?
And finally ... What agent? What agent configuration? What does an agent have to do with a 9i installation on XP?
The more specific you are, and the clearer your description, the more likely you will get help. Though why you are installing something so old escapes me at the moment. <g>
