XI Server Malfunction:Errror in Receiver Adapter

Hi all,
We are facing a problem with the J2EE Engine of our XI server.No scenario is working,as the receiver adapter is not getting called.
For every scenario,the sender adapter works fine,but I get the following error on the receiver side:
<b>'HTTP response contains status code 503 with the description Service Unavailable'.</b>
e.g. in a simple file-to-file scenario,the sender-side file gets picked up but on the receiver-side file I get the above error.
Previously working scenarios are not working anymore.
The error is in the 'Call  Adapter' part of the pipeline and I am reproducing the error shown in sxmb_moni for your convenience:

  • MS SQL Server Stored Procedure - JDBC Receiver Adapter

    Hi,
    I am calling a stored procedure in MS SQL Server using the JDBC Receiver Adapter.  The stored procedure takes 1 input parameter which is a VARCHAR field.  The stored procedure's input parameter and the input parameter are identical.  My target structure looks like:-
    <STATEMENT>
    <storedProcedureName action="EXECUTE">
    <TABLE>SP_REPROCESS</TABLE>
    <input1 isInput="true" type="VARCHAR">1</input1>
    </storedProcedureName>
    </STATEMENT>
    I am getting the following error:-
    Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: Error processing request in sax parser: Error when executing statement for table/stored proc. 'SP_REPROCESS' (structure 'STATEMENT'): com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: String or binary data would be truncated.
    Any suggestions.
    Thanks.

  • Variable Substitution File Receiver Adapter

    Hi,
    I am in the process of implementing a scenario involving the conversion of a .jpg file to .bmp. In my scenario, I'd like to the .bmp file name to be dynamically controlled; therefore, I have used the Variable Substitution option in the File Receiver Adapter.
    In both the File Sender & Receiver comm. channels, I have ticked 'Adapter Specific Messsage Attributes' check-box and selected the 'File Name' option.
    The File Receiver comm. channel also has the following:
    File Name Scheme*: %File_Name%.bmp
    Variable Name: File_Name
    Reference: message:FileName
    Having done the above, I am getting the following error message in Comm. Channel Monitoring:

    Rahul,
    > In this case i believe the interface has to be synch.
    > So what will the response message type be like..
    Not necessary. UPDATE can be asynch as well.
    Can you turn the trace on like pointed by Michal and then you can see the Query in the Audit Log of the adapter montioring. Try to execute the same query from your DB Client like TOAD and see what is the Syntax error you are getiing.!
    The problem looks like some field has some dataype / column name mismatch.

    Can somebody help me please??

    Hi Alvaro,
            If your XI server is running on Unix platform then you'll get the access only after mounting 10.128.68.38 this system as a drive. This is equivalent to the windows network mapping.
    Next thing is that once that is done then you can access the path /arbo2000/UploadPinfos/arbodev by mentioning it in your directory path.
    To check whether the above mentioned is the problem then pls do try by doing it with FTP protocol. If it works then for acting as a local directory for NFS you need to mount the drive.
    Cheers
    JK

  • RFC Receiver Adapter and RFC Destination -- Help

    Hi,
    I would like to configure the RFC Receiver Adapter for the invokation of a RFC on SAP System (Name: ALPHA) using a RFC destination provided by another system named BETA.
    I have set External Server as server type.
    My first question is: I have to quote an application server gateway and a gateway service. Is this information related to a service on ALPHA or BETA?
    My second question is:
    It is also necessary to provide a Programm-ID. The destination on BETA is a R/3 connection and doesn't have a programm id. Where do I get this from?
    And my last question is:
    Is at all possible to use the RFC destination on BETA?
    Any help is really appreciated...
    Kind regards,
    Heiko

    Hi Heiko,
    I don't fully understand your need but:)
    since both of your systems are SAP systems
    why are you trying to use external server?
    can't you just call RFC on BETA
    and inside this RFC on beta call RFC on ALPHA?

  • Adapter-specific message attributes for the JMS Receiver adapter

    Dear SAP Community,
    We are trying to activate some parameters at message level when SAP XI sent an interface (XML data) to IBM Websphere MQ. Programmaticaly, this is done the following way:
           TextMessage outMessage = session.createTextMessage();
           MQQueue replyToQ = new MQQueue("TESTQM01","SYSTEM.ADMIN.ACTIVITY.QUEUE");
           Destination replyTo = (Destination) replyToQ;
           outMessage.setJMSReplyTo(replyTo);
           outMessage.setIntProperty("JMS_IBM_Report_Exception", MQC.MQRO_EXCEPTION);
           outMessage.setIntProperty("JMS_IBM_Report_Expiration", MQC.MQRO_EXPIRATION);;
           outMessage.setIntProperty("JMS_IBM_Report_COA", MQC.MQRO_COA);
           outMessage.setIntProperty("JMS_IBM_Report_COD", MQC.MQRO_COD);
           outMessage.setIntProperty("JMS_IBM_Report_Discard_Msg", MQC.MQRO_DISCARD_MSG);
    This code is working fine.
    Since the documentation about this feature (Adapter-specific message attributes) is very light, We am not sure about the interpretation we made.
    First, we defined the following attributes: MS_IBM_Report_Exception, JMS_IBM_Report_Expiration, JMS_IBM_Report_COA, JMS_IBM_Report_COD, JMS_IBM_Report_Discard_Msg. All of them are with type int.
    Then we changed the mapping (XSL) to pass the value to the dynamic configuration, using the technical names (DCJMSMessageProperty0, ..., DCJMSMessageProperty4) and the value of the constants. We also specified a value in the Reply To Queue parameter of the adapter. As a test, We also change another parameter via the mapping (the correlation ID, to use the idoc number) and according to the log of the processed message, every thing is finde. According to the trace of the JMS adapter, everything is fine to. However, this has no impact on the message, only the correlation ID is changed.
    The JMS server is IBM Websphere MQ (v6.0.2.1). It is already in production and working fine. This is a change we have been asked to implement.
    Has anyone experience with the JMS receiver adapter-specific message attrbitutes ? What have we done wrong ?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Mail receiver adapter: THeaderREPLY-TO not working on ASMA

    Hello people,
    (note: all the @ where changed by " at " because of limitations of SDN)
    I'm trying to set some adapter specific message attributes (ASMA) in a mail receiver adapter.
    Two properties I'm trying to set: THeaderFROM e THeaderREPLY-TO.
    The first one is working great, the second one does not work.
    My scenario is Soap to Mail. I send a soap message, in the message mapping a user defined function get the mail address (to and reply-to) and set it with DinamicConfiguration like this (hard coded to be simple):
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration)container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/Mail", "THeaderREPLY-TO");
    conf.put(key, "reply.to at teste.com";);
    DynamicConfigurationKey from = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/Mail", "THeaderFROM");
    conf.put(from, "from at teste.com";);
    As in the documentation, it should work. But the mail message reaches the mailbox with mime header Return-Path = from at teste.com.
    Reading all the notes related to mail adapter (and adapter module processing) I found the tool TCPGateway to monitor what is going from adapter engine to the mail server. So I changed a little the scenario to test it and now the scenario is Soap->TCPGateway->MailServer. In the TCPGateway I got this:
    EHLO brjgs916.weg.net
    MAIL FROM:<from at teste.com>;
    RCPT TO:<roberti at mycompany.net>;
    DATA
    Date: Thu, 5 May 2011 19:55:17 -0000
    Subject: mail - teste
    To: roberti at mycompany.net
    From: from at teste.com
    MIME-Version: 1.0
    content-id: payload-98c5c8b0775111e090110018714e4a28 at sap.com
    Content-Type: text/xml;charset=utf-8
    Content-Disposition: attachment;filename="Untitled.xml";
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: binary
    <?xml version="1.0"; encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns0:MTP_SAMPLE_MAIL_MESSAGE xmlns:ns0="http://soa.weg.net/sampleMail"><Title>titulo</Title><Body>body a ser preenchido</Body><Footer>footer tambem</Footer></ns0:MTP_SAMPLE_MAIL_MESSAGE>.
    QUIT
    With this information, I found that something is not right in the mail adapter, because it is not writing the relevant reply-to attributes to the mail message.
    Some of you has any idea about it?
    Thank you in advance.
    waldemar roberti
    Edited by: Waldemar Roberti on May 5, 2011 5:02 PM

    Satish,
    Actually (for testing purposes) I have the email roberti at mycompany.com set in all fields of receiver mail adapter mail attributes (from, to, cc and bcc). I turned all of them on and of and analysed the result. It seems that the information whe put on ASMA overloads the information on these mail attributes. But, in mail attributes, we don't have a field for REPLY-TO, just on ASMA we have this field.
    So... the problem is in REPLY-TO. It has not been set in mail adapter, even if I set it with dinamic configuration.
    thank you.

  • FTP  receiver adapter does not transfer (STORE) file

    Hello gurus,
    In my scenario I want to transfer files from server X to server Y using FTP.
    To get the files from server-X I use the FTP sender adapter, to put the files on server-Y I user the FTP receiver adapter.
    Getting the file (QoS = EOIO) is not a problem; I see the result is SXM_MONI.
    Putting the file doesn't seem to work; I don't have an error message in SXMB_MONI but the file is not physical stored on server-Y.
    When I monitor server-Y I see that XI connects with the configured user/pwd and even creates the directory when it doesn't exist but the file is not STORED.
    I'm not using the BPE, this is a very simple and basic scenario: what comes in, goes out.
    Can you please advice what might be the cause of the strange behavior?
    Many thanks - Danny

  • File Receiver Adapter - writes empty message although ignore flag is set

    Hi,
    i have an file FTP receiver channel configured with content conversion. I also have set the "Empty-Message-Handling" flag to "Ignore", so empty messages with 0 kb are not written to the FTP server.
    My problem is now: empty file are written to FTP server although this flag is set to "Ignore".
    For example: A message with the following content arrives at my receiver adapter:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns0:MT_ArticleMaster xmlns:ns0="http://ihle.com/tyredating/core"></ns0:MT_ArticleMaster>
    The resulting file has 0kb.
    Does anyone have an idea why empty message are not getting ignored by this setting? Although the flag is set?
    Thanks in advance,

    ideally the file adapter will expect a message with no content in it. so i suggest you use a simple java mapping to check if there is any content between the tags, if there is no content then write out an empty string to the outputstream else pass the same inputstream out

  • Using file receiver adapter with a different user

    Hello.
    I have a simple question (at least I think it is)
    Can I use a file receiver adapter (where the transport protocol is NFS - not FTP)
    so that a different user will access the directory (not the usual SAPServiceSID)?
    I don't see any place for using username and password, and using the FTP protocol is not possible
    because of security reasons.
    Any help Appreciated.

    Hello.
    Thanks for the quick answers.
    I'm sorry for not being clear enough before.
    I have a microsoft network share on a different server then the PI.
    When I use the path:
    server\share
    I manage to successfully put a file via the file receiver adapter, with NFS as the transport protocol.
    However in order to do this, the owner of the share had to give credentials to the user: SAPServiceSID of my PI system
    which is an active directory user.
    The owner wants me to use a local user instead.
    Can this be done with a local user?

  • Problems with Seeburger FTP Receiver adapter

    Hello,
    I am working on a scenario sending ORDERS05 Idocs to EDI vendors.
    For this i have configured Seeburger Receiver FTP adapter with 2 modules to convert XML-EDI format. Since this is the test, I have pointed Seeburger to local FTP server with following settings
    Hostname <Hostname of our FTP server>
    Port <Port # of our FTP server>
    Host Path/VAN partner id <some local directory of FTP server>
    Payload mode: Maindocument.
    At runtime i received following exception
    Message could not be forwarded to the JCA adapter. Reason: Fatal exception: javax.resource.ResourceException: >> Description: com.seeburger.jftp.app.exception.FtpExceptionSoftProcessingError: Unexpected reply: 500 'SITE system 1': command not understood>> Details: com.seeburger.jftp.app.exception.FtpExceptionRethrowError: Error in session: {type:FTPConnectionId}{binding:82ea8d3089dc3e898ae2e608d9d8487d}{channel:a52d1aaa8dd63ff59c2f590e78586a77}{toparty:TestEDIParty} CAUSED BY: com.seeburger.jftp.app.exception.FtpExceptionOpenConnectionError: Error while connection to remote host CAUSED BY: com.seeburger.jftp.app.exception.FtpExceptionRethrowError: Error while executing command QUOTE site system 1 CAUSED BY: com.seeburger.jftp.app.exception.FtpExceptionSoftProcessingError: Unexpected reply: 500 'SITE system 1': command not understood>>SendingStatus: NOT_TRANSMITTED>>FaultCategory: COMMUNICATION_ERROR>>Retryable: true>>Fatal: true
    Few questions related to this
    1] can we use Seeburger adapter to generate EDI files on local FTP server
    2] If not Seeburger can we use normal File adapter to do the same. I tried the same by configuring BIC module in File adapter so that it would convert XML to EDI format and was hoping file to be generated on FTP server. It generated one line XML file with following text "<info>Converted message locates in a attachment</info>". Any idea how to retreive attachments in File receiver adapter (as far as i know no attachments are supported in File receiver adapter).
    Any idea how to generate EDI files with Seeburger FTP on test server?
    Thanks in advance.

    Rajeev

    Hi Rajeev,

    Yes we can use.

    It is like a normal process, how to generate the EDI files in normal means without FTP. Check this link

  • Configuring a Seeburger FTP Receiver Adapter

    Hello,
    I am trying to build a scenario where SAP ECC 6 sends an invoice to a customer via EDI.
    We are using ECC 6.0 and PI 7.0 and the Generic Seeburger EDI Adapters. The VAN is a GEIS EDISWITCH VAN (Eircom in Ireland).
    I am able to successfully send an IDoc from ECC 6 and into PI where a Seeburger map converts the message to EDI-XML format. I can use a file adapter to create a file in normal EDI format. But I can't get the Seeburger FTP adapter to work with the VAN.
    I have configured the correct IP, port, username and password but I keep getting the following message when the communication channel tries to send the message:
    <h6>Message processing failed. Cause: javax.resource.ResourceException: Fatal exception: com.sap.aii.af.ra.cci.XIRecoverableException: >> Description: com.seeburger.jftp.app.exception.FtpExceptionSoftProcessingError: Unexpected reply: 501-Syntax errors in parameter.    usage: %[recipient id]%[APRF]       where either [recipient] or [APRF] can be omitted.           (to change your current default SEND relationship).           %% (places you in your 'HOME' TR).   &['s'|'single'] ('get' command gets single file).   &['m'|'multiple'] ('get' command gets multiple files). >> </h6>
    The FTP session is expecting a PUT command with the recipient id and APRF as parameters but these are not getting passed. I suspect this is because I am not passing the correct variables to the receiver adapter but I don't know what variables it expects and where they should be specified. And I can't find the answers in the documentation.
    Can anyone shed some light on what I need to do?
    Thanks,
    Ben

    Hi Prateek,
    Thanks for your comments. The channel is set to GEIS(GeMarkIII). There is nowhere to specify a directory or filename. The settings I have used are as follows:
    Adapter Type: FTP (http://seeburger.com/xi)
    Receiver
    Transport Protocol: FTP
    Message Protocol: GEIS/GeMarkIII
    Adapter Engine: Integration Server
    Host name: <IP address of VAN server>
    port: 21
    User Id: <Our mailbox number>
    Password: <Correct password>
    Host path/VAN Partner ID: <blank>
    Script file: <blank>
    Transfer type: ASCII
    Connection mode: Passive
    Use keep alive: <Not checked>
    Security Mode: None
    Proxy Mode: none
    Resource ID: <blank>
    Deliver transmission report: <not checked>
    Payload mode: Attachment
    Attachment ID: SeeburgerMain
    Channel status: Active
    Use dynamic attributes: <Checked>
    Use non-empty attributes: <Checked>
    Request displayed report: <Not checked>
    Request dispatched report: <Not checked>
    Report timeout (minutes): 720
    Handle received reports: Refer reports to XI system
    There is nowhere in the communication channel configuration that allows me to specify the receiver ID or the APRF. The documentation say this is read from the EDI data and the relevant fields are populated.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Ben
