XML dataset stucks in rendering on html page

Hi
When i choose a test.xml file with 'insert - spry dataset', 'datatype xml', the datapreview in the 'set data options' window display the data correctly.
In the 'choose insert options' i choose 'insert table'. I don't use the setup button there, leaving it to default settings, and click 'done'.
Seems to be correct.
In the design window, the columnheaders are displayed, with the fields name between brackets, like below:
Datum     Inhoud     Link
{datum}     {inhoud}     {link}
the values are not visible in designview.
But in liveview, the page is completely blank.
I'm not hosting it yet on a testsite. Just trying out how to insert XML data in a HTML file.
According to the tutotials it should work - but it doesn't...
the pieces of code in the html that were automatically added:

                  </p>
                        <div spry:region="ds1">
                          <table>
                            <tr>
                              <th spry:sort="datum">Datum</th>
                              <th spry:sort="inhoud">Inhoud</th>
                              <th spry:sort="link">Link</th>
                            </tr>
                            <tr spry:repeat="ds1">
                              <td>{datum}</td>
                              <td>{inhoud}</td>
                              <td>{link}</td>
                            </tr>
                          </table>
                  </div>
                        <p> </p>
                </div>
Could you please help me out ?
tnx a lot !

I have no testing server yet.
The hourglas is in Dreamweaver itself, when rendering the xml sprite - not in a browser.
Attached is a testing html (with associated css and js files)  in wich i tried to insert the xml.
When i tried the same on a blank html page (in the same dir), the spry table insertion works fine .
But not within the contentarea of this index.html.
Could it be because of the 'accordion.js' ?
Or the css ?
I really have no idea...
tnx
(ps i've left out the images folder)

  • Set DOCTYPE for a self rendered HTML page using cl_gui_html_viewer

    G'Day!
    I'm dealing with HTML in ABAP and i' stuck with a nasty little problem. Perhaps somebody know's the answer and can help me out. Thanks in advance. (I'm sorry for my poor english)
    My problem is:
    I am rendering a html page in abap and display ist using a cl_gui_html_viewer.
    Works fine.
    But now in need to set the right DOCTYPE for the rendered html page.
    If i add the DOCTYPE definition, my html page is not displayed, instead i get a display of the html-code??
    To break it down to the root:
    How can i add the DOCTYPE definition to a self-rendered html page?
    If i add the DOCTYPE definition as first element of my html table, the html code won't be interpreted.
    If i do not add the DOCTYPE defintion everything works fine.
    I need the DOCTYPE definition so that the browser won't get into quirks mode and interpretes the html tag's right.
    What i've done so far:
    (Dynpro, container, html_viewer)
    Load my JScripts (with load_mime_object)
    Load my CSS (with load_mime_object)
    Load my HTML:
    -- lt_html       TYPE w3htmltab
    ((--  APPEND  '<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN">'  TO ct_html.)) this line cause my trouble
    -- filled the itab with my html tags <html>....</html> (set right url for Jscript and CSS)
    -- Load my html table and get an URL CALL METHOD gr_labform_html->load_data
    -- Load the url CALL METHOD gr_labform_html->show_url

    I've "solved" my issue with a little workaround.
    I created an empty html page with an existing DOCTYPE def and an tag like <!MYDATA!>
    After that i filled 'l_merge_table TYPE swww_t_merge_table' with my tag and my html_data.
    Loaded the whole thing with CALL METHOD gr_labform_html->load_html_document and now the DOCTYPE is set fully correct!
    But i'm still interessted why i can't set the DOCTYPE directly? Anybody knows?

  • Cannot get form items with this.resolveNode() in a form rendered as HTML

    I refer to the thread http://forums.adobe.com/thread/906775?tstart=270 with a similary problem with a form which rendered as HTML page.
    I have built a dynamic form with Designer. The form contains a group with three radio buttons. Each radio button is assigned to a subform container. The first radio button is preselected and the assigned subform is visible. A click to a radio button makes the assigned subform visible and hides the others.
    In the PDF preview in works fine.
    But when I render the form as HTML page and click into a radio button, I get a "javascript error: 'this.resolveNode('formName') is null or not an Object...". The cause of this error message is known. The script cannot find the subform container named "formName" because it is a DIV-container named like "formName_init_[0]" in the HTML page.
    My questions are: What should I do to refer the correct container names?
    Is it possible to create such dynamic forms with Designer and render them as HTML form pages?
    Thanks to all for an answer.

  • Spry xml dataset driven page and search engines

    If a page uses Spry xml dataset to present products to a
    visitor, what do google and yahoo crawlers see in that page?
    I'm asking because i plan to rewrite our products' static
    pages using spry xml dataset, and i'd like to ensure crawlers see
    the products. I haven't looked much, yet, into this pry capability,
    but the products page will most probably be paginated (not sure if
    possible in this capability) since there are hundreds of products.
    currently, our static html pages generated good conversions
    into purchases from google and yahoo searches.
    It would be great if there is a real-life website that uses
    this spry capability and has their pages appear in those search
    engines.
    thanks.

    If a page uses Spry xml dataset to present products to a
    visitor, what do google and yahoo crawlers see in that page?
    search bot do not read / understand javascript. So they would
    not index it.
    Its a commen point of failure of the ajax techniques, Spry
    has a handy solution for it (spry:content) wich will allow u to
    overwrite 'content' if javascript is enabled so and bots will just
    see the static page.

  • Rendered html pages in results file(html) not showing the images of origina

    hi,
    rendered html pages in results file(html) not showing the images of original page
    when i click on rendered html pages of different html section of a results file.
    both master and tested as well.
    thx
    pasumarthi

    By design, the report will not show the images, will not apply imported css or javascript files and will not show framesets. Also, in the case that an image is shown there is no guarantee that that was the image that was seen when recording/playback the script.
    The rendered html pages that are shown in the report only contains the structure of the html page. If an image is shown the image will be a reference to the location of the image and not a saved copy of the image as part of the report. If the website has a simple structure this can give an idea of what was different. If the website relies extensively on images, stylesheets or javascript to present the information then this report feature becomes less useful.
    Few weeks ago I requested a feature request in order to be able to see in the report the page exactly as it was when recording the script and exactly as it was when the script was played back. In the way that the feature request was written it specifies the use of screen captures or saving the page as a pdf file.

  • Sending XML to an HTML page in AS3

    I'm working on an a Flex 3 application to generate XML to use in Fusion Charts Free.
    So that the user can preview the chart, I'm currently sending the XML to an HTML page with runs the chart SWF using navigateToURL with the XML appended to the query string. The HTML page captures the query string with Javascript and supplies the XML to the chart.
    <script type="text/javascript">
       var xmlstring = getParameterByName('xml');
       var chart = new FusionCharts("FCF_Column2D.swf", "ChartId", "900", "600");
       chart.setDataXML(xmlstring);
       chart.render("chartdiv");
       function getParameterByName(name) {
            var match = RegExp('[?&]' + name + '=([^&]*)')
                         .exec(window.location.search);
            return match && decodeURIComponent(match[1].replace(/\+/g, ' '));
    </script>
    This works fine in Firefox but I have problems with IE - the maxium URL length limits the amount of data, and IE9 removes the query string if in protected mode, and also requires it to be URL encoded. I try to get round this with the actionscript below.
    var pageurl:String = chartpage + ".html";
    var appName:String = ExternalInterface.call( "function getAppName(){ return navigator.appName; }" );
    var agentName:String = ExternalInterface.call( "function getAppName(){ return navigator.userAgent; }" );
    var qs:String = qxml;
    // IE cannot cope with more than 2083 chars in URL
    // IE9 requires escaping and needs to be not in protected mode
    if (appName == "Microsoft Internet Explorer")
       if (agentName.indexOf("MSIE 9") > -1)
        qs = encodeURI("?xml="+qxml);
        if (qs.length > 2000)
        Alert.show('Data is more than 2000 bytes, too much to pass to Internet Explorer on the query string. Choose less data or use a different browser.', 'Fusion Chart Generator', mx.controls.Alert.OK);
       else
        var urlRequestIE:URLRequest = new URLRequest(pageurl+qs);
        navigateToURL(urlRequestIE,"_blank");
    else
      var urlRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest(pageurl+"?xml="+qxml);
      navigateToURL(urlRequest,"_blank");
    Is there a better way of doing this?
    Thanks
    Richard

    It appears that I am still doing something wrong. I've attached the flash, but here is the code based on my understanding of how to update it:
    import flash.net.URLRequest;
    import flash.net.navigateToURL;
    dvds.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,navigate1);
    var nav1:String="http://bikepaparazzi.com"; navigate1(e:MouseEvent):void {

    proconvention.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,navigate2);
    var nav2:String="http://proconvention.com"; navigate2(e:MouseEvent):void {
    function
    navigateToURL(new URLRequest(nav2),"_self");
    advertise.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,navigate3);
    var nav3:String="http://bikepaparazzi.com"; navigate3(e:MouseEvent):void {

  • Navigating pages when form rendered as HTML

    I successfully created an XDP that my website will render as either PDF or HTML depending on the user's preference.
    However, I can only get the first page of the document to display when it is rendered as HTML.
    Could anyone help me figure out how to navigate to the other pages?
    Thanks

    I believe you need a button on your form with a click event set to run at the server. The script should be xfa.host.pageDown() or xfa.host.pageUp().
    You'll probably have better luck on the LiveCycle Forms forum.

  • Iframe in bc app html page rendering empty

    I have created a very basic bc app, which works on my partner site (where it was developed), but does not work on the client site I copied it to and authorized it (thanks to Mihai).
    The app is simple a menu item with an html page that includes an iframe. The iframe is supposed to contain an html page from my partner portal.
    In my partner site, the iframe renders correctly.
    In my client site the iframe renders empty.
    Is there some special way to add iframes to an html page in a bc app, that load content from other websites?
    Thanks,

    EASE

    Hi Liam,
    (NOTE: To keep our content private, the URLS in the following are not actual ones but follow same structure as real ones).
    /_System/apps/EASE-app-id/_config/menu.json (on the client site) looks like this:
        "menu-first-EASE-app-id": {
            "weight": 100000,
                "title": "EASE Help",
                        "icon": "/_System/apps/EASE-app-id/admin/icon.png",
                    "attr": {
                        "href": "/Admin/AppLoader.aspx?client_id=EASE-app-id"
    The iframe in /_System/apps/EASE-app-id/index.html (on the client site) looks like this:
    <iframe width="750px" height="1400px" src="http://www.my_partner_site.com/EASE-app-id/html-page-name"></iframe>
    On our partner site, I have an html page (http://www.my_partner_site.com/EASE-app-id/html-page-name) which contains an faq module, containing various helpful stuff for the client.
    The idea is that as we add more clients we will be able to easily install this app  on all their admin menus and have the content of the faq in one place, so that updates to the faq on the partner site are visible on all client sites immediately.
    Perhaps I've gone about this completely the wrong way?
    It was working before BC made the recent changes to the menu.json requirements. Then I had to rebuild using an authorized app, but this is as far as I've got.
    Any help much appreciated.

  • Jspx including html page rendering problem

    Hello,
    I have an jspx including an html page by
    <f:verbatim>
    <jsp:include page="/mypage.html"/>
    </f:verbatim>
    When running the jspx, Hyperlinks aren't rendered - everything else (text, pictures...) is! (browser-independed)
    Has anyone an idea what's going wrong there and how to solve this problem?
    Thank you very much!
    Sebastian

    Thank you! The problem was another:
    The links were rendered, but with no color! :-( On some reason, I explicitly have to set the color of a link to get it shown! Don't know why! If I open the included page standalone, everything is there.

  • Insert HTML Page into XML CDATA Tag

    Hi Guy
    I have a very big problem.
    I create a little web site and I use XSL + XML to produce output.Now I
    want to add a part of html page into xml tag to use a custom page section.
    But i find a problme,
    see the example :
    I use this xml :
    <resources>
    <html><![CDATA[<B>Hello World</B>]]></html>
    </resources>
    trasform xml with xsl page
    and my output into html browser is (&lt);B(&gt);Hello World(&lt);/B(&gt);(please remove the bracket( ) while reading the text to understand my problem)
    my BOLD html tag is not parse by browser because xslt parser trasform
    my special tag into other tag.
    I want output like this:
    <b>Hello World</b>
    But it's coming like (&lt);B(&gt);Hello World(&lt);/B(&gt); (please remove the bracket( ) while reading the text to understand my problem)
    Can you help me ?
    this is my trasformation function :
    private Transformer getXSLTransformer (xslFile) throws
    XSLTransformerConfigurationException {
    try {
    Transformer transformer = null;
    tFactory = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
    transformer = tFactory.newTransformer(new
    StreamSource(xslFile)); // load xslFile from disk
    } catch (TransformerConfigurationException tce) {
    throw new XSLTransformerConfigurationException(tce.getMessage());
    return transformer;
    public String myTrasform(String xml,String xslFile) throws Exception {
    StringWriter outputString = new StringWriter(512);
    Transformer transformer = getXSLTransformer (xslFile);
    transformer.transform(new StreamSource(new StringReader(xml)), new
    StreamResult(outputString));
    return outputString.toString();
    Thank's in advance.

  • Spry Menu Using Nested XML Dataset (Spry 1.6)

    I have a vertical menu with a few items. One of which is
    labeled Products which has submenus. I want to have that submenu
    read from a Nested XML dataset. Using a single dataset for one
    level in a menu is easy enough, but the subenu will have submenus.
    Example Menu:
    Home
    Company
    Products
    |-- Product 1
    |-- Item 1
    |-- Item 2
    |-- Item 3
    |-- Product 2
    |-- Item 1
    |-- Item 2
    |-- Product 3
    |-- Item 1
    |-- Item 2
    |-- Item 3
    |-- Item 4
    |-- Product 4
    |-- Item 1
    |-- Item 2
    |-- Product 5
    I have been looking for an easy way to use the Spry Nested
    XML Dataset to create the Product/Item menu. The number of Products
    may vary as well as the number of Items in each Product submenu
    (also, some Products may not have Items).
    I already have an ASP page that creates the XML data from a
    database.
    Schema follows (XSD ):
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <xsd:schema xmlns:xsd="
    http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
    <xsd:element name="products">
    <xsd:complexType>
    <xsd:sequence>
    <xsd:element name="product_type"
    maxOccurs="unbounded">
    <xsd:complexType>
    <xsd:sequence>
    <xsd:element name="type_name" maxOccurs="1"
    type="xsd:string"/>
    <xsd:element name="type_url" maxOccurs="1"
    type="xsd:anyURI"/>
    <xsd:element name="product_name"
    maxOccurs="unbounded">
    <xsd:complexType>
    <xsd:sequence>
    <xsd:element name="item_name" maxOccurs="1"
    type="xsd:string"/>
    <xsd:element name="item_url" maxOccurs="1"
    type="xsd:anyURI"/>
    </xsd:sequence>
    </xsd:complexType>
    </xsd:element>
    </xsd:sequence>
    </xsd:complexType>
    </xsd:element>
    </xsd:sequence>
    </xsd:complexType>
    </xsd:element>
    </xsd:schema>
    I have been programming for 17 years but am new to Spry. If
    this cannot be done easily with the Spry framework, I'll probably
    wind up splitting the XML data into 2 files (Products and Items)
    then writing a nested loop and call each by row, but then I have to
    find out how Spry Datasets reference XML data. Figuring out how to
    call rows from the XML data shouldn't be so bad, but this method
    just seems like such a hassle for something that should be easy.
    Pseudocode follows:
    j=1
    i=1 to TotalNumberProducts
    display Product i from Products
    ItemsExist=true
    While ItemsExist
    if j > TotalNumberItems | Item j is not for Product then
    ItemsExist=false
    else
    display Item j from Items
    j++
    Wend
    Next
    Thanks in advance for any help or direction!

    That's exactly what I'm trying to do. However, I implemented
    that code and the submenus won't appear. I suspect the submenus
    aren't finding the field names from the Nested XML Dataset. The
    first level of Product menus work great (this is a submenu of the
    overall menu) and correctly identify products that do not have
    submenus, so I know it's picking up the number of records in the
    Nested Dataset correctly - it just won't display the data in the
    next level of menu.

  • XML dataset doesn't change in detail area

    Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to lend...
    My accordion layout has five panels all of which are using
    different XML datasets. I have been wracking my brain to figure out
    how to have multiple master data regions filter into one detail
    region - I have one setup correctly, but when I change the focus on
    the accordion menu, the other XML data is not displayed in the
    detail region.
    I understand why they do not populate, but I cannot figure
    out what to include to have all data regions filter into the detail
    area.
    Thanks again in advance!

  • Tabbed Panel using UpdateContent doesn't properly display spry .html page

    Quick question. I have a tabbed panel widget with 12 tabs.
    I'm using the UpdateContent snippet to pull in .html pages per tab.
    when I have straight .html on the pages the content displays
    without a problem.
    What I need is for each tab to pull in an .html page that
    contains a spry table that has an XML data set (think product page
    with "next" and "prev" buttons to cycle through the content).
    The .html page with the spry table works like a charm...on
    it's own. however when I use it in conjunction with the tabbed
    panel all I see is the bracketed code (i.e. {imgURL} {productName}
    {SKU}) rather than [photo] large T-shirt SKU:1111.
    A while ago I did an accordion that had dynamic content per
    generated panel -- this utilized the Spry.Data.NestedXMLDataSet
    function. A bit of a similar idea although I'm not sure if this
    would also work with the tabbed panel.
    Any suggestions would be helpful and I can drop the code if
    that would also help. Thanks!

    well, what I have is:
    index page with tabbed panel
    |
    V
    click tab
    |
    V
    content from first option .html page loads. this content has
    a dataset repeating table.
    The main page already had the SpryData.js and also
    UpdateContent, as follows:
    <div id="TabbedPanels1" class="VTabbedPanels">
    <ul class="TabbedPanelsTabGroup">

    pageOffset = offset;
    pageStop = offset + pageSize;
    // Re-apply our non-destructive filter on dsStates1:

    </script>
    Sircusa Micro Crepe
    <div spry:region="fall08">
    <table>
    <tr spry:repeatchildren="fall08">

    onclick="UpdatePage(pageOffset - pageSize);" />
    <input type="button" value="Next"
    onclick="UpdatePage(pageOffset + pageSize);" />
    </div>
    siracusa.html works more than fine. pulls in the photo, link,
    SKU and info without any problem.
    When you're on the base page with the tabbed panel the only
    thing that comes up are the bracketed info, i.e. {SKU} {SKU1}
    {SKU2}.
    What I need help with is actually having the pulled in data
    table (in the various tabbed panel content areas) actually then
    populate the repeat regions rather than just showing the
    code...
