XML Namespace Prefix required

Hello,
our partner uses Biztalk to receive our SOAP calls. They tell us that each attribute and element needs to have the namespace prefix otherwise Biztalk cannot read it.
We are sending:
SAP XI Output
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<ns11:Receive_SAP xmlns:ns11="http://zzz.com/it/mmpur/sem/xi">
  <part>
   <xform id="SWI:PLG:Order Header - SAP">
    <model>A</model>
   </xform>
  </part>
</ns11:Receive_SAP>
They want:
Biztalk Requirement:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<ns11:Receive_SAP xmlns:ns11="http://zzz.com/it/mmpur/sem/xi">
  <ns11:part>
   <ns11:xform id="SWI:PLG:Order Header - SAP">
    <ns11:model>A</ns11:model>
   </ns11:xform>
  </ns11:part>
</ns11:Receive_SAP>
Can that be done with the XI 3.0 Graphical mapping or do I have to use JAVA Mapping or XSLT?
Did anyone come accros this before with Biztalk Server and it there an option to avoid it on the Biztalk Server side?
Thanks
Stefan

Hi Stefan,
Where did you obtain the schema (XSD) from?
Most likely, the elements you are using are local elements and do not belong to the target namespace, but to an unnamed global namespace.  This is a typical characteristic of schema's defined by SAP.
The short answer/solution is probably putting elementFormDefault="true" in the header of your target schema. That should do the trick.
Kind regards, Guy Crets

    Appreciate if anyone can help.  <br>
    Thanks.

    Thank you for all your valuable suggestions.  Does any know why XI/PI does not acknowledge/use the namespace prefix that is defined in the XML?  Is there no other way around this short-coming apart from using XSLT mapping?
    <br>
    I did try using the anonymizer (as suggested by Manjusha).  With the anonymizer I am able to change the namespace prefix in the element tags to the way I want it.  However the namespace definition is still showing in the element tag.
    <br>
       <MyNS2:SubStruc_1 xmlns:MyNS2="http://www.MyTest.com/My_Namespace/Part2">  <br>

          <MyNS2:Fld_1_1_B>Value002</MyNS2:Fld_1_1_B>  <br>
       </MyNS2:SubStruc_1>  <br>
      <br>
    This is almost perfect only if I am able to remove the definition xmlns:MyNS2="http://www.MyTest.com/My_Namespace/Part2" from the element tag.  Suggestion any one?
    Thanks All.

  • SQL function to extract XML namespace prefix

    Hi,
    I have the following document
    <ns4:product xmlns:ns1="www.abc.com" xmlns:ns2="www.def.com" xmlns:ns3="www.ghi.com" xmlns:ns4="www.jkl.com">
    <ns4:productline>Widget</ns4:productline>
    </ns4:product>
    I'm trying to find a SQL function which will enable me to extract the namespace prefix with the value "www.jkl.com". This is so that I can then use the prefix as part of the xpath expression to search for an element value in the document eg. extractvalue('/ns4:product/ns4:productline')
    Thanks

    Try DBMS_XMLDOM.GetNameSpace

  • Prefix required for namespace error

    When I try to import an XML schema into the TopLink workbench, I'm getting the following error:
    0800 - Prefix required for namespace "http://www.ACORD.org/standards/PC_Surety/ACORD1.6.1/xml/".
    Has anyone seen this before? Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Greg Plummer

    Hi Blaise,
    Thanks for the reply. The schema I was trying to import was huge and it has come to my attnetion that it has been broken down into a set of more managable schemas. Now I'm getting a different error trying to import those smaller schemas, as follows:
    (Error) Can not build schema 'http://www.w3.org/XML/1998/namespace' located at 'file:/C:/Temp/Pliq XML Schemas/FromJim/xml-ns.xsd'
    I copied the xml-ns.xsd file to the directory that contains the schema I'm trying to import, but that made no difference. I also tried changing the schema to use an absolute path to xml-ns.xsd, but no luck with that either. Any thoughts???
    Thanks, Greg

    Oracle version is 10.2.0.3

    Hi,
    If you declare a namespace prefix then corresponding elements must be qualified.
    So, either do :
    p_dt1.existsNode('/wnio:Deklaracja','xmlns:wnio="http://test.epuap.gov.pl/FeResourceServlet/wzor_lokalny/InstytucjaPubliczna/Deklaracja_DT/"')or use a default namespace declaration :
    p_dt1.existsNode('/Deklaracja','xmlns="http://test.epuap.gov.pl/FeResourceServlet/wzor_lokalny/InstytucjaPubliczna/Deklaracja_DT/"')BTW, could you explain what are you trying to accomplish?

    xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/sca/1.0"
    xmlns:ui="http://xmlns.oracle.com/soa/designer/"^M

    <service ui:wsdlLocation="JIPSYHandleRTOTaskEBF.wsdl" name="client">
    </composite>
    But when it has been deployed, I see that this has been changed into:
    <composite name="JIPSYHandleRTOTaskEBF" revision="1.0" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
    <import location="GetTimeoutPeriod.wsdl" namespace="http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/db/GetTimeoutPeriod/"/>
    <service ui:wsdlLocation="JIPSYHandleRTOTaskEBF.wsdl" name="client">
    </composite>
    (I exported this from MDS).
    Apparently, some namespaces are stripped.
    This appears to happen during the deploy (using ant), because the version in the generated jar file is already missing the namespaces.
    The BPEL processes appear to work fine though.
    Why is this happening and how can I prevent these errors?

    I've fiddled around with the file composite.xml and found the following workaround:
    If I change the start of the file to:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <composite name="JIPSYUpdateWorkflowReqABCSImpl"
    xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/sca/1.0"
    xmlns:ui="http://xmlns.oracle.com/soa/designer/"
    xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    revision="1.0"
    mode="active"
    state="on">
    it remains unchanged and the errors during deployment are gone.

  • How to add namespace prefix to XML file?

    I have a file(XML) to proxy scenario. I 've created an asynch Inbound message and a asynch Outbound message.
    I have generated the class in Sproxy of my R/3 System.
    In the Integration directory I have 2 business system :
    -one which sent the file

    System which send file generate XML like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
       <batch id="20080211001" customer="some customer" user="user" language="EN">

  • Remove Namespace Prefix from SOAP response

    Hi
    I have a File-XI-SOAP scenario. I pass data from the file to SOAP. If the data is good, I receive a Response and If the data is bad I get an fault message called AccountUtilsException. But I am not able to read this message properly.
    The message we receive from the webservice is
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?><!-- Request Message Mapping --> <edu.purdue.account.AccountUtils.AccountUtilsException xsi:type='ns1:AccountUtilsException' xmlns:ns1='urn://www.purdue.edu/apps/account/ns'><message xsi:type='soapenc:string' xmlns:soapenc='http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/'>lastName is a required field</message><type xsi:type='xsd:int'>5</type></edu.purdue.account.AccountUtils.AccountUtilsException>
    In sxmb_moni when we try to read this message I get the error Reference to undeclared namespace prefix: 'xsi'.
    I tried removing the xsi prefix using anonymizer.acceptNamespaces = urn://www.purdue.edu/apps/account/ns ns1.
    I tried this too urn://www.purdue.edu/apps/account/ns ''.
    the AF_MODULES/AnonymizerBean is second in my processing sequence immediately following the XISOAPAdapterBean.
    The problem still persists. Any suggestions? The webservice people are not willing to remove the xsi:
    Thanks,
    Jahnavi

    The XMLAnonymizerBean does not consider namespace prefixes in attributes. So you should allow also those prefixes and namespaces which are used here.
    Without the XMLAnonymizerBean the xsi namespace declaration should be available as well, if not it is a bug. Check if you have applied the latest patch and open an OSS ticket, if this is the case.

  • Changing / Setting Namespace Prefix in SAX

    I am using sax to parse a document and I was wondering how I could change an existing namespace prefix or add one to the front of every element. I am using an XML standard called PIDX which requires each element to look like this "<pidx:ELEMENTNAME>". I know this should not be required but the standard requires it. I am familiar with using the startElement and endElment methods but I am not sure how to set a prefix. Any help or examples would be appreciated.

    I recognize all of the words in the item you posted, but when I tried to parse the whole message, I got nothing.
    If you are using SAX to parse a document, it is just telling you what it sees by calling the various SAX methods like startElement, etc. If the XML document should have namespaces for all elements and it doesn't, it is not the fault of SAX, but of the program that created the XML data. So, you cannot set a prefix in SAX. You can be told by SAX that it saw a prefix, and by not seeing a call, you can tell that there was no prefix.
    How is the XML data generated? That is where you should first be concerned.
    In this case, SAX is just the messenger telling you what is in the XML data.

  • Namespace Prefix in the Root Element of the variable

    Hi Gurus,
    We need to call a webservice which requires a namespace prefix at the root elemnt of the xml payload. But as we know that the default behaviour of BPEL removes the prefix so the invoke activity is failing and so we are stuck.
    I found this thread Namespace prefix in Root element missing during variable assignment but i feel the solution specified in this link works only in SOA 10g environment Please let us know what needs to be done?
    Appreciate a prompt response.

    Hi All,
    we are also facing the same issue, Please provide the solution if anyone knows. We are also using the SOA Suite 11g Version.

    Hi,
    if you just need to extract one element (?), you could use iXML : interface if_ixml_document contains method find_from_path_ns , to which you may pass the path to your element (and pass the namespace prefix too), which is :
    /SOAP_FAULT/s:Envelope/s:Body/s:Fault/s:Reason

  • Issue with XML namespace and Message structure

    Hi All,
    I am using Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.4. I have SOA web service application one-way messaging wherein I keep receiving messages from the third party. The issue I am facing is with the XML namespaces which conflicts with the third party's message structure. The details are as below.
    Our Web-service WSDL*
    <schema attributeFormDefault="unqualified" elementFormDefault="qualified"
    targetNamespace="http://amb.com/cad/RealTimeService"
    xmlns:cad="http://amb.com/cad/RealTimeService"
    xmlns:avl="http://schemas.com/asiapac/cad/datamodel/avl/1.0.0"
    xmlns:evn="http://schemas.com/asiapac/cad/datamodel/event/1.0.0"
    xmlns:uni="http://schemas.com/asiapac/cad/datamodel/unit/1.0.0"
    xmlns:dvt="http://schemas.com/asiapac/cad/datamodel/divert/1.0.0"
    xmlns:sui="http://schemas.com/asiapac/cad/datamodel/suppinfo/1.0.0"

    <import namespace="http://schemas.com/cad/datamodel/divert/1.0.0"
    schemaLocation="HewsCadSchema.xsd"/>
    <import namespace="http://schemas.com/cad/datamodel/suppinfo/1.0.0"
    schemaLocation="SupplementalInformationCadSchema.xsd"/>
    <element name="AvlAuxData" type="avl:AvlAuxData" nillable="true"/>
    <element name="AgencyEvent" type="evn:AgencyEvent"/>

    <element name="SupplementalInformation" type="sui:SupplementalInformation"/>
    <element name="UnitDetail" type="uni:UnitDetail"/>
    </schema>
    Using SOAP UI tool a HospitalDiversionMessage Request for the above WSDL will look like*
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:real="http://amb.com/cad/RealTimeService" xmlns:ns="http://schemas.com/cad/datamodel/divert/1.0.0">

    Questions*
    1) I cannot figure out how the SOAPUI tool or SOA substitutes "real" as the namespace prefix for the WSDL based HospitalDiversionMessage and what I need to do at my end to match the message structure as per what the third party needs.
    2) I need ns0 namespace prefix to whole of Diversion xml element. Currently it is "real" at top Diversion element and "ns" for its children
    Please suggest, I can attach the other imported XSD if need be.
    Thanks

    Questions
    1) I cannot figure out how the SOAPUI tool or SOA substitutes "real" as the namespace prefix for the WSDL based HospitalDiversionMessage and what I need to do at my end to match the message structure as per what the third party needs.The xml namespace suffixes like real and ns0 are just references used by the XML Parsers. For that matter the "real" can be xyz as well.
    You dont need to make any changes as long as the xml namespace suffixes refer to the same namespace.
    If you see the first soapUI xml and the third party xml have the same namespace references and hence it is not a problem:
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:real="*http://amb.com/cad/RealTimeService*" xmlns:ns="http://schemas.com/cad/datamodel/divert/1.0.0">
    <soapenv:Header/>
    <soapenv:Body>
    <*real*:Diversion>
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:ns0="*http://amb.com/cad/RealTimeService*" xmlns:ns="http://schemas.com/cad/datamodel/divert/1.0.0">
    <soapenv:Header/>
    <soapenv:Body>
    <*ns0*:Diversion>
    2) I need ns0 namespace prefix to whole of Diversion xml element. Currently it is "real" at top Diversion element and "ns" for its childrenBased on this, logically both the xmls represent the same xml message. And hence you dont need to make any changes.
    Please refer to the basics of xml namespaces using the following links:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XML_namespace

    Let us know if you still need clarification.
    Hope this helps.

  • Missing namespace prefix in the soap body

    Hello
    The soap body that is produced along with soap header for my webservice. I
    am the client talking to a server. The first piece in RED color is what
    weblogic generates to send to the client but does NOT work. The one below
    though works fine which is what I manipulated by hand to send to the
    server. I have no idea why weblogic drops the namespace prefix in the
    BODY.
    -Narahari
    The message is as shown below
    POST /FS HTTP/1.1
    Host: asgappsrv10:6211
    Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8
    Connection: close
    SOAPAction: "ListDomains"
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
    xmlns:soapenc="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
    <env:Header>
    <n1:Credentials xmlns:n1="urn:criticalpath:fs:api:1.0"
    xsi:type="n1:Credentials">
    <Username xsi:type="xsd:string">admin@default</Username>
    <Password xsi:type="xsd:string">password</Password>
    <SessionId xsi:nil="true"/>
    </n1:Credentials>
    </env:Header>
    <env:Body
    env:encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/">
    <Fulfill xmlns:n2="urn:criticalpath:fs:api:1.0"
    xsi:type="n2:Fulfill">
    <Request xsi:type="xsd:string">ListDomains</Request>
    <RequestAttributes soapenc:arrayType="n2:Attribute[0]"/>
    <Async xsi:type="xsd:boolean">false</Async>
    </Fulfill>
    </env:Body>
    </env:Envelope>
    When you see the data carefully, the env:Body has the Fulfill element. But
    it does have a namespace prefix on it. This causes the call to fail. If I
    change the above segment manally to look like
    POST /FS HTTP/1.1
    Host: asgappsrv10:6211
    Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8
    Connection: close
    SOAPAction: "ListDomains"
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
    xmlns:soapenc="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
    <env:Header>
    <n1:Credentials xmlns:n1="urn:criticalpath:fs:api:1.0"
    xsi:type="n1:Credentials">
    <Username xsi:type="xsd:string">admin@default</Username>
    <Password xsi:type="xsd:string">password</Password>
    <SessionId xsi:nil="true"/>
    </n1:Credentials>
    </env:Header>
    <env:Body
    env:encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/">
    <n2:Fulfill xmlns:n2="urn:criticalpath:fs:api:1.0"
    xsi:type="n2:Fulfill">
    <Request xsi:type="xsd:string">ListDomains</Request>
    <RequestAttributes soapenc:arrayType="n2:Attribute[0]"/>
    <Async xsi:type="xsd:boolean">false</Async>
    </n2:Fulfill>
    </env:Body>
    </env:Envelope>

    Hi All,
    we are also facing the same issue, Please provide the solution if anyone knows. We are also using the SOA Suite 11g Version.
