XML Publisher Arabic Report Display and missing header problem
Hi All
We are in apps. 11.5.9 with English and Arabic language support.Even though we have all our data and reports in English we are in need of an Arabic Invoice report.
Since Titles cannot be typed in oracle report builder we decided to build the report in Xml Publisher.
Every thing is done to run the report in xml publisher but we face two probles in the final xml output.
Problem1. Header and footer are not displaying in the report.
Problem2. Arabic characters are not displaying properly in the report.
Here what ever titles we gave in Arabic are displaying good.
If I save the xml file and load it in the templete and view output shows the correct arabic wordings.
But when during taking the output directly from apps. then the problem comes. The Arabic fonts are not dispaying correctly.

I have requirement to show attachment file in AR invoices which is .pdf files in BI Reports or Oracle Report.. Can ony one guide me please.
Iam able to read blod data from fnd_lob table and also able to see junk data in xml output. Once rft template is generated then it is coming as blank. It does stream lob data. Can you please provide xsl fo statement to read.

Xml publisher 5.6.2 and jdeveloper
Problem :
I wanted to generate a pdf from a OA page. I was successful ingenerating the PDF from a OA Page but the problem is I am not able to find suitable xml publisher libraries to include in the Jdeveloper
OA Framework Version 11.5.10.CU1.

Please provide me the list of libraries xml publisher to be included in jdeveloper.
Approach for Libraries:
Took XDO/ORACLE XML PUBLISHER OA ROLLUP PATCH 5.6.0 and extracted the zip file j456151.zip from the patch and included it as a library. My class compiled. But when I run from jdev the output is not generated. But I put the class on the JAVA_TOP it worked.
If it has worked why do I need libraries?
xml publisher is very powerful and I want to use the other features like data template and delivery manager. I want need corrrect libraries in jdeveloper.

Oracle XML Publisher Support was of little help. I really felt helpless. I had to dig out everything from the patches. For oracle internal managers who want to see that we get proper support the tar number is

}Create a JAR file with $JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps/fnd and $JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps/xdo. You can have them in the same jar file or separate JAR files. The oracle directory MUST be the top directory.
Add this/these jar files to your project libraries in JDev and you are ready to go. I have used this method with XMLP 5.5 to 5.6.2 and works just fine.

XML publisher output report in excel format
Hi
I have created reports using XML Publisher, the default output preview format was PDF. While submitting the program, in the layout, I changed the format to EXCEL,it give me output in Excel. Now I need to send the output report as an attachment through e-mail.For this I have used a UNIX shell script to send the mail using uuencode and mailx commands.
I have fetched the name of the report from table using the following command.
SELECT file_name
FROM FND_CONC_REQ_OUTPUTS
WHERE FCR.CONCURRENT_REQUEST_ID = p_req_id;
The name of the report is : XXBG_PO_IFACE_SO_RPT_8556321_1.EXCEL
Following is the command to send the e-mail.
(cat $MAIL_BODY; uuencode XXBG_PO_IFACE_SO_RPT_8556321_1.EXCEL XXBG_PO_RPT.xls) | mailx -m -s "$MAIL_SUBJECT" $mail_id
I am receiving the mail with the attachement, but when i am trying to open the attachement it is throwing an error and nothing is displayed in the excel sheet.
Note: When I am sending the mail,in similar way, with 'PDF' attachement it is perfectly fine and the attachement is opening correctly.

The error message is as follows
Microsoft Office Excel cannot access the file "https://xxxxxxx/Inbox/XXBG_PO_RPT.xls.
There are several possible reasons:
--The file path doesnot exist.
--The file is being used by another program.
--The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook.
After throwing the error, it open s a balck excel sheet.

I have gone through the thread. I am able to see the report when I click the output tab on the concurrent request screen.
But the problem is, when I am sending the output report as an excel attachment then I am facing the problem.
There might be some problem with uuenocde or mailx command.

Error in XML Publisher File Reporting
Hi,
I am getting following error on XML publisher report.
Error generating report output : (235,2309) PSXP_RPTDEFNMANA GER.ReportDefn.OnExecute Name :ProcessReport PCPC: 97120 Statement:2012 Called from:APP_Engine.Repor t.GBL.default.1900-01-01.Step0 1.OnExecute Statement:8
Not sure why this is erroring out. I have verified all the data which is to be reported and it looks fine. The .XML file is generated correctly and reporting seems to be an issue.
Appriciate your inputs if you have faced similar issue.If you are using an RTF template, have you validated the report template in the Microsoft Word XML/BI Publisher tool? Does the preview work or does it throw the same error?

XML Publisher 5.6.3 and Emailing
There has been much discussion on the ability to email requests from EBS and XMLP. I have seen all kinds of work arounds which requires customization.
I have a few questions. I have read that in 5.6.3, there is talk of integrated bursting, and some suggest that you can use bursting to deliver reports via EMAIL, with no customization. Is there trurth to this?
I have also read, that in R12 there is an integrated delivery manager. Is this so?
So, is there any hope for the short term, that Oracle will come out with a integrated solution for 11i that will allow us to deliver reports via Email or other delivery methods without customization or 3rd party software?
Also, is there a link that point to a document that discusses 5.6.3 enhancements?

WE NEED TO KNOW HOW TO SETUP A XML PUBLISHER DOCUMENT SO WE CAN EMAIL FROM THE EBS AFTER IT IS GENERATED.
WE ARE CURRENTLY ON 5.6.2, AND MAY CONSIDER 5.6.3.
WE HAVE BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS THAT WE NEED TO BE ABLE TO EMAIL THE DOCUMENT AFTER IT IS RUN FROM A REQUEST.
I HAVE SEEN MUCH DOCUMENTATION ON THIS, REVIEWED THE USER MANUAL, BUT HAVE NOT FOUND A CONSCISE DOCUMENT THAT DESCRIBES HOW IT IS DONE FROM START TO FINISH. (INCLUDING YOUR BLOG)
I UNDERSTAND WITH 5.6.2 THERE IS SOME CUSTOMIZATION THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE TO PASS THE OUTPUT FROM THE REQUEST TO THE DELIVERY MANAGER USING JAVA AND API'S.
ARE THE SAME REQUIREMENTS FOR 5.6.3, OR IS THERE A INTEGRATED SOLUTION FOR EMAILING DOCUMENTS OUT OF THE E BUSINESS SUITE AFTER RUNNING AN XMLP REPORT?
WE HAVE A FEW WEEKS BEFORE WE ARE SLATED TO GO LIVE WITH THE 11.5.10 UPGRADE WE ARE PLANNING, SO TIMING IS CRITICAL THAT WE FIND A SOLUTION.

When following some links, the displayed page is blank and the header shows "clk (GIF Image, 1 x 1 pixels)". These are usually links from advertising sites or email promotions. I suspect that they are paid for links and somehow the logging info is causing this problem. It has only recently started to happen, so I suspect that a recent update has caused it.
Some firewalls like Kaspersky can block content and send a 1x1 GIF image instead.
Kaspersky: Protection > Firewall > Filtration system: disable the "Banner Ad Blocker"

XML Publisher 5.6.3 and Bursting
Hi All,
According to Tim Dexter's blog "E Business Suite Bursting - 4/5/07; 6:33:55 PM", XMLP 5.6.3 will have a Java Concurrent Program that will invoke the Bursting API out of the box. Obviously negating the need for us to create our own.
My client has upgraded to 5.6.3 this morning, everything is working fine and as expected, however I cannot find this "new" Conc Prog anywhere. It also cannot find any reference to it in any documentation for 5.6.3. Specifically I need the Concurrent PROGRAM Short Name.
Does anyone have any idea whether this was implemented in 5.6.3, or how I can find it if it is. I need to determine whether it is worth continuing development on our custom Java Concurrent Program if the same functionality already exists.

I got the Bursting with 5.6.2 working already, but it should be an out of the box solution in 5.6.3. I just can't find the default JCP.
We are still in the prelimary stages of development, and it would be far simpler to use an out of the box solution as opposed to continuing to develop something that already exists.

I would like to create a new XML Publisher report for Oracle EBS, whereby I can explode a BOM definition before the report fires, but I'm not sure how to go about this in the sql portion of the XML data definition file. Any direction on where to gain this info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Display and keyboard brightness problems.
Hi all, I'm having some rather annoying problems with my display and keyboard brightness on my MacBook Pro (Mid 2008). Both the display and keyboard pulse between as dim as they can get without going black and as bright as they can get at least once a day and eventually settle at the brightest possible setting. I cannot lower the brightness level once this has settled without the pulsing starting over again. I currently have the auto adjust brightness on for both, because whenever I try to turn it off to try and stop any adjustments other than manual the pulsing gets exponentially worse. We're talking full-blown spastic fit (faster and much longer lasting dim to bright pulsing as well as flickering of the display). Any help here would be greatly appreciated, because I'm out of ideas at this point. Thanks
Ok, so after giving the backlights a thorough test last night and this morning, they are still squirrely. After resetting the SMC the pulsing is definitely not as bad and the flickering seems to have stopped, but the pulsing is still there and still far worse when the auto-adjust is turned off. Maybe I'll just have to deal with it. It is much better than it was and at least it's settling to the dimmest point rather than the brightest point now.

MSS Time sheet appearing to reporting Manager and Unit Head
Hello Experts,
We are implementing MSS in project and we are facing a problem:
- We have Org structure
Unit Head (chief Position)
^
Asst Manager (not a chief postion) reports to Unit Head
^
Associates (not a chief postion) reports to Asst manager
Now when employees goes and submits his time sheet it appears correctly to Asst Manager in MSS Time sheet Approval by Line Manager.
Now the problem is that Associate's time sheet is also appearing to Unit Head. Incase Unit head selects it and approve, it will get approved which is incorrect. The Associates time sheet should only appear to Asst Manager not to Unit Head.
Please help us how we can resolve this problem.

venkatAs per your scenrio time sheet approval only for one level only. In workflow try to use logic A002 relation ship (Reports to). That means employees reporting manager.
Discuss the same with your workflow consultant they will help you. Whoever is submit time sheet & it will go to employee line manager using A002 Relation ship. -
Is there a 100 column report limit and/or a problem editing dynamic reports

I have a report which is generated dynamically, the source being a PL/SQL function body returning SQL query. The on-screen output is generated using mod plsql, i.e. an html table.
If I run the report with parameters which return more than 100 columns, all are displayed on screen
However, if I click on the (standard functionality) 'export to csv' link at the bottom of the report, not all of the columns are exported.
If I navigate to the report definition page, firstly a pop-up error appears: "A Runtime Error has occurred. Do you wish to debug? Line 272 Error: ';' Expected". If I click 'no' then the report definition appears. There are 100 columns listed 'Col01', 'Col02', 'Col03' ... 'Col100'.
I can't edit anything on the page without getting an error when I apply changes:-

I am wondering if I am hitting 2 problems:-
1. APEX can't handle more than 100 columns
2. APEX can't handle editing of the page once it has been created?
Does anyone have any good ideas/seen this before?
Could it be related to this Is it a bug (Form with more than 100 items/columns) ?
Is this a bug or an undocumented feature?

It created a 100 column report and I was able to manipulate the report the same as any other. So maybe it is not the fact that there are 100 columns. I know its not an answer to your question but maybe it can help.
