XML Schema Generated By XMLSpy fails validation in JDev 10.1.3.0.4

Hi gurus,
I am trying to view an XML schema generated by XMLSpy in JDev 10.1.3.0.4 but got this error:
Error(6,74): <Line 6, Column 74>: XML-24523: (Error) Invalid value 'simpletypes\AmendmentReasonChargeType.xsd' for attribute: 'schemaLocation'
Now in the XML schema, there is this line that causes the above error:
<xs:include schemaLocation="simpletypes\AmendmentReasonChargeType.xsd"/>
The same XML schema can be opened in Visual Studio 2003 OK. Could anyone help me out here? Thank you!
Ben

There is a tool tip that displays over the line that causes the error and this is what it says,
value of attribute schemaLocation not of anyURI type. The value must be of the following type:
Type Name: anyURI Primitive Type: anyURI
What does it mean?
Thanks
Ben

  • Bug report: Oracle schema parser/regex compiler failing valid xs:patterns

    Hello,
    The Oracle schema regex compiler does not allow valid patterns with more than a certain number of branches. An XSDException is thrown, namely 'invalid facet 'pattern' in element 'simpleType'.
    I have also tried using multiple <xs:pattern> elements, which also conforms to the official schema specification, but no luck there either.
    Here are my sample regexs which validate correctly against all branch examples in XML Spy 4.0:
    <!-- as single multi branchpattern-->
    <xs:pattern value="aqua|black|blue|fuchsia|gray|green|lime|maroon|navy|olive|purple|red|silver|teal|white|yellow|[A-Za-z]{1,2}[0-9]{2,4}|rgb\([0-9]{1,3}%{0,1},[0-9]{1,3}%{0,1},[0-9]{1,3}%{0,1}\)"/>
    <!-- as multiple patterns-->
    <xs:pattern value="aqua|black|blue|fuchsia|gray|green|lime|maroon"/>
    <xs:pattern value="navy|olive|purple|red|silver|teal|white|yellow"/>
    <xs:pattern value="[A-Za-z]{1,2}[0-9]{2,4}"/>
    <xs:pattern value="rgb\([0-9]{1,3}%{0,1},[0-9]{1,3}%{0,1},[0-9]{1,3}%{0,1}\)"/>
    (Note that the Oracle regex compiler will allow any one of these patterns, it is only when the compiler concatenates them as per the spec that the exception is thrown.)
    Here are the W3 specifications for patterns/schema regex, which impose no limit on pattern branches whether they are part of one or multiple xs:pattern 'value' attributes:
    (http://www.w3.org/TR/xmlschema-2/#regexs)
    [Definition:] A regular expression is composed from zero or more ·branch·es, separated by | characters.
    [Definition:] A branch consists of zero or more ·piece·s, concatenated together.
    (http://www.w3.org/TR/2001/REC-xmlschema-2-20010502/datatypes.html#rf-pattern)
    Schema Representation Constraint: Multiple patterns
    If multiple <pattern> element information items appear as [children] of a <simpleType>, the [value]s should be combined as if they appeared in a single ·regular expression· as separate ·branch·es.
    NOTE: It is a consequence of the schema representation constraint Multiple patterns (§4.3.4.3) and of the rules for ·restriction· that ·pattern· facets specified on the same step in a type derivation are ORed together, while ·pattern· facets specified on different steps of a type derivation are ANDed together.
    Thus, to impose two ·pattern· constraints simultaneously, schema authors may either write a single ·pattern· which expresses the intersection of the two ·pattern·s they wish to impose, or define each ·pattern· on a separate type derivation step.

  • HTML generated by Flash failed validation test

    Hello guys,
    I have created a simple Flash website:
    http://www.icebergfilms.com
    It's HTML was also created in Flash using Publish Settings. However, when I tried to validate this HTML using online validator, it failed the test:
    http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.icebergfilms.com%2F&charset=%28detect+a utomatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0&No200=1&verbose=1&user-agent=W3C_Validator%2F1.654
    I am a complete novice in Flash and in HTML, so could please anyone give me some advise how to fix this?
    Thank you so much for your help.

    Thank you so much for your response.
    I actually did try (with help of some guys from html forum) to use text editor to generate HTML and simply just embed that swf file onto that HTML document.
    It works well, but there is one little problem. Very first thing viewer see (after clicking on URL to upload my site) is black background with
    white rectangle which is the space where swf movie will appear. It last around 2-3 seconds. Then preloader appears and everything goes normal. But this white empty space before preloader shows up is very weird.
    here is that code:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"

    This white space does not happened when using HTML generated by Flash, however, that one on the other hand misses some basic elements.
    Should I then maybe just use the code above , delete this BODY sectiont:
    <div>
    <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="IcebergFilms.swf" width="810" height="600">
    <param name="movie" value="IcebergFilms.swf">
    <param name="play" value="true">
    <param name="loop" value="true">
    <param name="quality" value="high">
    </object>
    </div>
    and replace it with BODY section from Flash generated HTML?
    I apologize for this chaotic post, but I am trying to create the correct code for about 2 weeks now, and I am starting to lose it
    Thanks again for your response .... and for your patience.

  • Validation with jaxp 1.3 and xml-schema

    I'm totally green when it comes to xml&jaxp. Using jse 1.5 (jaxp 1.3), I'm trying
    to have my app parse and validate an xml doc with xml schema. I want the validation to
    happen using the schema specified in the xml doc. Also, I'd prefer if my application didn't have to set
    the schema to use. As far as I can make out though, it appears that I need to parse the schemaLocation when
    I want to validate using xml schema. Anyone know a way to avoid that step?
    If not, then any idea why I'm getting the following err?

         I would anticipate being able to have the parser see the XSD reference in the XML and

  • Pulling validation pattern from XML schema in LCD

    Hi team,
    We have deisgned a fillable PDF form uding Live Cycle Designer ES2.
    The form contains fields of different data types.
    We have created a data connection on the form (using LCD) to bind it to a XML Schema
    The XML schema has different types of validations for different data types.
    When we treid to bind the XML schema to PDF form using LCD, most of the validations were pulled in. Example, numeric lenghth check, string length check, minoccurs , maxoccurs
    But few validations were not pulled from Schema like Pattern validations on string.
    Please guide us on how to achieve this using LiveCycle Designer ES2.
    Cheers,
    Kavi

    Hi Kavi,
    The pattern from the XML Schema can not be automatically copied across, I assume because of the differences in the XML Schema pattern regex and a JavaScript regex.  If you did use a compatible subset I you could write a macro to add the pattern to the validation event.  One difference is a XML Schema pattern always assumes a ^  and $ to match the beginning and end.  Have you seen this document http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/en/livecycle/lc_designer_XML_schemas.pdf,
    Regards
    Bruce

    and I did checked the recyclebin after force the delete of schema, nothing inside. any other recommendation?

  • Xml Schema xs:choice element in dynamic forms

    Hi all,
    I'm developing an xml schema for creating the data model of a form. I connect LC Designer-8.2ES to this schema.
    In the schema I do have mutually exclusive elements implemented with a <xs:choice> element. A very comparable situation was described in this thread : http://www.acrobatusers.com/forums/aucbb/viewtopic.php?id=123 in 2007.
    The problem, as related in this thread, is that only the very first element of the choice is displayed in the generated pdf and I don't know how to display all parts as a real choice.  So what's the best way to let user fill in one part or the other of the choice?
    Does it need to be implemented with scripting (xfa...myform.presence = visible | hidden)?
    I want that only the filled element of the choice be exported from the form, the resulting xml being valid according the schema. I seems to work, but as of now, only for the first element...
    BTW, what's the best document describing what parts of xml schema are usable in dynamic XFA forms?  Is it 100% compatible?  I've observed that the constraints in my schema are not validated in the forms.  Shouldn't xml schema generate validating script in LCD? Does it apply for a subset of xml schema?
    Thanks in advance,
    jgrd

    Hi all,
    finally, I understand that we cannot use "anonymous" sequences neither in LiveCycle (like this following example where person might have many email)
        <xs:element name="person">
            <xs:complexType>
                <xs:sequence maxOccurs="unbounded">
                    <xs:element name="email" type="xs:string"/>
                </xs:sequence>
            </xs:complexType>
        </xs:element>
    valid instance with 3 emails :
    <person xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="Untitled39.xsd" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
        <email>String</email>
        <email>String</email>
        <email>String</email>
    </person>
    In LC Designer, element with same name (<email>) are not used AFAK.  Maybe I'm wrong?
    The same hands with <xs:choice> where only first choice appears in pdf although being present in LC Designer.
    As for sequences, my idea is to produce <email1>, <email2>, etc. in a static schema, before connecting schema's data to LCD.
    Hope someone can show up and tell it's the right way or not.
    Regards
    jgrd

  • XML Schema Collection (SQL Server 2012): How to create an XML Schema Collection that can be used to Validate a field name (column title) of an existing dbo Table of a Database in SSMS2012?

    Hi all,
    I used the following code to create a new Database (ScottChangDB) and a new Table (marvel) in my SQL Server 2012 Management Studio (SSMS2012) successfully:
    -- ScottChangDB.sql saved in C://Documents/SQL Server XQuery_MacLochlainns Weblog_code
    -- 14 April 2015 09:15 AM
    USE master
    IF EXISTS
    (SELECT 1
    FROM sys.databases
    WHERE name = 'ScottChangDB')
    DROP DATABASE ScottChangDB
    GO
    CREATE DATABASE ScottChangDB
    GO
    USE ScottChangDB
    CREATE TABLE [dbo].[marvel] (
    [avenger_name] [char] (30) NULL, [ID] INT NULL)
    INSERT INTO marvel
    (avenger_name,ID)
    VALUES
    ('Hulk', 1),
    ('Iron Man', 2),
    ('Black Widow', 3),
    ('Thor', 4),
    ('Captain America', 5),
    ('Hawkeye', 6),
    ('Winter Soldier', 7),
    ('Iron Patriot', 8);
    SELECT avenger_name FROM marvel ORDER BY ID For XML PATH('')
    DECLARE @x XML
    SELECT @x=(SELECT avenger_name FROM marvel ORDER BY ID FOR XML PATH('Marvel'))--,ROOT('root'))
    SELECT
    person.value('Marvel[4]', 'varchar(100)') AS NAME
    FROM @x.nodes('.') AS Tbl(person)
    ORDER BY NAME DESC
    --Or if you want the completed element
    SELECT @x.query('/Marvel[4]/avenger_name')
    DROP TABLE [marvel]
    Now I am trying to create my first XML Schema Collection to do the Validation on the Field Name (Column Title) of the "marvel" Table. I have studied Chapter 4 XML SCHEMA COLLECTIONS of the book "Pro SQL Server 2008 XML" written by
    Michael Coles (published by Apress) and some beginning pages of XQuery Language Reference, SQL Server 2012 Books ONline (published by Microsoft). I mimicked  Coles' Listing 04-05 and I wanted to execute the following first-drafted sql in
    my SSMS2012:
    -- Reference [Scott Chang modified Listing04-05.sql of Pro SQL Server 2008 XML by Michael Coles (Apress)]
    -- [shcColes04-05.sql saved in C:\\Documents\XML_SQL_Server2008_code_Coles_Apress]
    -- [executed: 2 April 2015 15:04 PM]
    -- shcXMLschemaTableValidate1.sql in ScottChangDB of SQL Server 2012 Management Studio (SSMS2012)
    -- saved in C:\Documents\XQuery-SQLServer2012
    tried to run: 15 April 2015 ??? AM
    USE ScottChangDB;
    GO
    CREATE XML SCHEMA COLLECTION dbo. ComplexTestSchemaCollection_all
    AS
    N'<?xml version="1.0"?>
    <xsd:schema xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
    <xsd:element name="marvel">
    <xsd:complexType>
    <xsd:all>
    <xsd:element name="avenger_name" />
    <xsd:element name="ID" />
    </xsd:all>
    </xsd:complexType>
    </xsd:element>
    </xsd:schema>';
    GO
    DECLARE @x XML (dbo. ComplexTestSchemaCollection_all);
    SET @x = N'<?xml version="1.0"?>
    <marvel>
    <avenger_name>Thor</name>
    <ID>4</ID>
    </marvel>';
    SELECT @x;
    GO
    DROP XML SCHEMA COLLECTION dbo.ComplexTestSchemaCollection_all;
    GO
    I feel that drafted sql is very shaky and it needs the SQL Server XML experts to modify to make it work for me. Please kindly help, exam the coding of my shcXMLTableValidate1.sql and modify it to work.
    Thanks in advance,
    Scott Chang

    Hi Scott,
    2) Yes, FOR XML PATH clause converts relational data to XML format with a specific structure for the "marvel" Table. Regarding validate all the avenger_names, please see below
    sample.
    DECLARE @x XML
    SELECT @x=(SELECT ID ,avenger_name FROM marvel FOR XML PATH('Marvel'))
    SELECT @x
    SELECT
    n.value('avenger_name[1]','VARCHAR(99)') avenger_name,
    n.value('ID[1]','INT') ID
    FROM @x.nodes('//Marvel') Tab(n)
    WHERE n.value('ID[1]','INT') = 1 -- specify the ID here
    --FOR XML PATH('Marvel')  --uncommented this line if you want the result as element type
    3)i.check the xml schema content
    --find xml schema collection
    SELECT ss.name,xsc.name collection_name FROM sys.xml_schema_collections xsc JOIN sys.schemas ss ON xsc.schema_id= ss.schema_id
    select * from sys.schemas
    --check the schema content,use the name,collection_name from the above query
    SELECT xml_schema_namespace(N'name',N'collection_name')
    3)ii. View can be viewed as virtual table. Use a view to list the XML schema content.
    CREATE VIEW XSDContentView
    AS
    SELECT ss.name,xsc.name collection_name,cat.content
    FROM sys.xml_schema_collections xsc JOIN sys.schemas ss ON xsc.schema_id= ss.schema_id
    CROSS APPLY(
    SELECT xml_schema_namespace(ss.name,xsc.name) AS content
    ) AS cat
    WHERE xsc.name<>'sys'
    GO
    SELECT * FROM XSDContentView
    By the way, it would be appreciated if you can spread your questions into posts. For any question, feel free to let me know.

  • Using "XML Document from XML Schema" in JDeveloper

    Hi Experts,
    I have a requirement to generate XML Document from XML Schema.
    For this I have used "XML Document from XML Schema" feature in JDeveloper. It is found in File->New->General->XML Document form XML Schema.
    I have registered a schema with jdev and got an XML document output for that successfully.
    Now, I want to implement this feature in my code for generating XML documents when XSD files are provided.
    Can any one please provide me with pointers to do that? I am sure there should be some libraries which can implement this feature.
    Thanks,
    Dilbagh

    Create an XML document from a Schema with the Oracle SchemaClassGenerator.
    import oracle.xml.classgen.SchemaClassGenerator;
    XMLSchema schema=new XMLSchema();
    XSDBuilder builder = new XSDBuilder();
    URL    url =  new URL(schemaUrl);
    schema = (XMLSchema)builder.build(url);
    SchemaClassGenerator generator = new SchemaClassGenerator();
    Generate the Java classes from the example XML Schema.
    generator.generate(schema);With the java classes construct an XML document.

  • XML Data Generator BUG???

    Hi,
    I've been experimenting with the XML Data Generator (a Data Web Bean) in Jdev 3.2.2, and no matter what attributes I choose to display from my View Object, the bean displays ALL attributes.
    Is this a BUG or Operator Error on my part?
    Lachlan
    [email protected]

    oops, I spoke too broadly -- the Flex example does work --
    but it fails if you have any qualifiers in the tag, so for example,
    this works:
    <name>
    <first>{firstName.text}</first>
    <last>{lastName.text}</last>
    </name>
    and this works:
    <name first="{firstName.text}" last ="{lastName.text}"
    />
    but this does NOT work:
    <name>
    <first type="person">{firstName.text}</first>
    <last type="person">{lastName.text}</last>
    </name>
    so it IS probably a bug in the parser that handles the XML
    tags, upon seeing one qualifying field within the tag, it assumes
    that all of the data will be presented in the same way, and there
    will be no bound data between the tag.

    1. I Successfully registered Schema into database
    2. Then i generate table from registered Schema
    2. In my java code i validated XML document against Schema and it's successfully validate.
    3. But when i stored this XML into this generated table it's give me error
       Like :
    INSERT INTO XMLTABLE
    VALUES
    (XMLTYPE(bfilename('MYDIR','testabc.xml'),NLS_CHARSET_ID('AL32UTF8')))
    Error report:
    SQL Error: ORA-31061: XDB error: XML event error
    ORA-19202: Error occurred in XML processing
    LSX-00333: literal "94032000" is not valid with respect to the pattern
    And i have to store this xml into this tables so what i have to do ?

    Thanks for your reply odie_63.
    I got this my error solution. My XML document is not well structured based on my registered XML Schema.
    Means In My XML Document there are some invalid value and that not match my schema pattern so it's gives this error
    SQL Error: ORA-31061: XDB error: XML event error
    ORA-19202: Error occurred in XML processing
    LSX-00333: literal "94032000" is not valid with respect to the pattern
    For Solution we have two ways
    1. I have changed this literal "94032000" value in my xml file then save it.
    2.
    - We have to delete this schema then
    - we have to change Schema pattern for particular element
    like :--
    <xs:restriction base="xs:string">
      <xs:whiteSpace value="preserve"/>
      <xs:pattern value="[0-9]{3}"/>
    </xs:restriction>
    - then store xml into database it works..
    Thanks.

  • XML Schema validator fails to load XML Schema from URL

    I'm trying to validate an XML document against a set of XML Schemas and the parser seems to freak out: even though all the schemas are referred to in the XML and are properly recognized by Schemas field in XML document properties, I get warnings (multiple
    instances):
    Request for the permission of type 'System.Net.WebPermission, System, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed
    Cannot resolve the 'schemaLocation' attribute
    The schema referenced from this location in your document contains errors
    The warning locations are also seemingly random - errors in schema locations are reported on closing tags inside XML or on whitespaces, and so on.
    The first warning (System.Net.WebPermission) suggests it has something to do with access to remote schemas, but all the necessary remote schemas are visible in XML Schema Set editor for the document. I also enabled downloading of XML schemas in XML text
    editor options.

  • Errors generating Java classes from XML schema

    I received the following errors when generating Java classes from the schema located at: http://imsproject.org/xsd/ims_qti_rootv1p1.xsd and http://imsproject.org/xsd/ims_xml.xsd

  • GetXMLSchema java method generates invalid XML Schema document

    Hi all,
    I managed to get the xdk FAQ demo to work eventually on oracle 9.2.0.1.0 for windows, I noticed however that when I generate an XML Schema definition against a query, the document contains an outdated namespace declaration (minor flaw) and "nullable" attributes instead of "nillable", resulting in an invalid XML Schema document when edited with certain tools like Altova's XmlSpy.
    How can I fix this?
    See below for the XML Schema source.

    With my (trial) copy of XMLSPY (version 2004 rel.3), I get following pop-up when opening that schema:
    "This schema is written in an old standard:
    http://www.w3.org/2000/10/XMLSchema
    Do you want XMLSPY to convert it to the new one:
    http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    When I click "Yes" and save, I get a perfectly valid schema (with nullable replaced by nillable).
