Xml scrollbar

Hi All, i have an FLA file with xml scrollbar... i want to
load that scrollbar swf file in my another movie, when i do this,
this loads on a container_mc but i don't see text on it...
when i separately try to view it, it works fine on its own
swf file.
any help would be really appreciated.
thanks

I think you should connect it to a text area.
Just create a multiline dynamic text area, connect the text area to the xml file and use the toXMLString();
for example: myTxt.text = myXML.toXMLString();
and then attach the scroll bar to the dynamic multiline text area.
hope it helped

  • Scrollbar for XML text area

    HI,
    A newbie here and on Flash,
    Sorry for my poor englih too, I'm French.
    My pb :
    I the attach file you will find forfaits.fla which is connected to xml/forfaits.xml. The pb is the UI Component SROLL BAR for the textarea for the img description doesn't work .
    Can you help me?
    Thx a lot

    I think you should connect it to a text area.
    Just create a multiline dynamic text area, connect the text area to the xml file and use the toXMLString();
    for example: myTxt.text = myXML.toXMLString();
    and then attach the scroll bar to the dynamic multiline text area.
    hope it helped

  • How to turn off scrollbars in Flash chart legend

    I recently migrated an Apex 3 app over to Apex 4. In the process I upgraded all of the Flash charts as well. Now, I get vertical scrollbars in some of the legends.
    How can I turn those scrollbars off? I don't see any settings in the UI and I haven't been able to work out the proper arguments in the XML to do it manually.
    Thanks for any pointers!

  • Using "Save As" execCommand in IE8 to save XML file in ANSI format instead of UCS2-Little Endian

    I am currently trying to save an XML data using "SaveAs" execCommand  from Javascript in Internet Explorer 8 only.I am using document.write(xml) to write the xml content after i open a window.The document object in IE8 uses a saveAs Exec
    Command to allow the user to save the xml file in the local folder.The XML file is generated but it doesnt set the encoding to my preferred type  for a different interface where i need to send this XML which is ANSI/UTF-8   encoding.I can only save
    the XML in UCS2 little Endian encoding format.Below is the code i am using.
         var location = "D:\\export_to_MCT"+dateTime+".xml";
            var xml = tmpSelectedConfigurationXML.transformNode(xslDoc);// XML Is generated here
           alert(xml);
             **var testlink = window.open  ("about:blank","_blank","toolbar=no,status=no,menubar=no,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,left=10000, top=10000, width=10, height=10, visible=none");
             testlink.document.write(xml); //fileData has contents for the file
        testlink.document.close();
        testlink.document.execCommand('SaveAs', false, location);**
        testlink.close();
    My purpose is to save the xml  in ANSI/UTF-8 encoding without BOM format.I cant use Scripting.FileSystemObject method of ActiveX object.Please suggest

    @panda Boy--
    But my intention isnt that .I need to download the xml in ANSI format

  • Scrollbar doesn't show all text in RichEditableText component ...

    The program is loading text from an external XML-file into a RichEditableText component.
    However, scrolling an scrollbar does not show all the available text.
    To me, it looks like the scrollbar is not updated to adopt itself to the new text.
    Does someone has any pointers, how to fix this, because I have no clue where to look?
    Thanks in advance,
    Peter
    Code snippets:
    The bindable 'data' is filled with an html-formatted text, when the XML-file is loaded.
    TextFlow is used to display the html-formatted text.
    MyTextScrollPanel component contains VScrollBar and component MyTextScrollPanelScrollingContentSkin:
    <s:VScrollBar id="vscrollbar" left="185" right="0" top="0" bottom="0" fixedThumbSize="true"
    viewport="{contentGroup}" />
    <components:MyTextScrollPanelScrollingContentSkin id="contentGroup" clipAndEnableScrolling="true"
    left="0" right="20" top="0" bottom="0"/>
    MyTextScrollPanelScrollingContentSkin component:
    <fx:Script>
              <![CDATA[
              [Bindable] public var data:String;
              ]]>
    </fx:Script>
    <s:RichEditableText id="textContent" d:userLabel="Text" x="0" y="0" width="185" height="682"
                                  editable="false" selectable="false" color="#ffffff"
                                  fontFamily="Myriad Pro" fontSize="12" tabStops="S0 S50 S100 S150 S200"
                                  textFlow="{TextConverter.importToFlow(data, TextConverter.TEXT_FIELD_HTML_FORMAT)}"
                                  whiteSpaceCollapse="preserve" >
    </s:RichEditableText>

    One (practical) solution I came up myself, is adopting the height of the RichEditableText to the length of the data:
    <s:RichEditableText id="textContent   ...  height="{data.length}"      .... />
    A practical height value turns out to be {data.length/2}, indicating that 50% of the text is html-tags and whitespaces (??)
    Does someone knows or could point to a more elegant solution?
    Note: the division "/2" worrows me, since the customer is proving the text.
    Thanks,
    Peter

    for( i = 0; i < total; i++ )
      flashmo_item_list.push( { content: flashmo_xml.item[i].content.toString() } );
    load_css();
    that will reset your array.

  • Creating dynamic HTML form from XML data in session

    I'm a bit new to servlets, please bear with me if I don't make myself clear.
    currently i have a HttpServlet that extracts a XML document into a jdom Document.
    this is done within the doGet() method as the XML document is in the session object.
    i would like to create a popup window (a JSP or servlet) that can access the same session, convert some of the data in the XML to a submit form that users can put input into, and have the JSP(or maybe servlet) send the form data and the XML back to the original HttpServlet (through the session object).
    i have a few questions on how to make this happen:
    1.how to create a popup window (JSP or servlet) in a servlet, and forward the session data as well?
    2.if the popup window has a submit form that submits some extra data back to the original httpservlet, will the XML document still be retained in the session?
    and any advise on how to go about this problem is highly appreciated!

    Hi,
    This is my first time posting a reply. Hope this helps.
    I am assuming that you are hitting the servlet from a link. This is one way of doing it. You can create a new window using Javascript. like this.
    <script language="javascript">
    var popupWin
    function openWindow(page){
    popupWin=window.open(page,"","width=800,height=600,resizable,scrollbars");
    </script>
    link
    The response of your servlet will be in the new pop-up window.
    2.if the popup window has a submit form that submits
    some extra data back to the original httpservlet,
    will the XML document still be retained in the
    session?The session should be retained as long as you are hitting the same servlet container . You should be able to access the seesion variable in the original servlet if the form in the pop-up window calls the original servlet.

  • Creating a very simple XML-driven gallery

    Hi, I'm learning XML in AS3 and I am having real trouble finding a resource that can help me learn how to build a very simple XML-driven picture gallery.
    I am working in an FLA file with AS3, with a dynamic text field with the instance name "textfield". I also have a UILoader Component with the instance name "UILoaderComponent" and an XML file called "rootdir.xml".
    I have an XML file in the following format.
    <images>
         <imagenames>
              <name>image1</name>
              <name>image2</name>
              <name>image3</name>
              <name>image4</name>
              <name>image5</name>
         </imagenames>
         <imagepaths>
              <path>image1.jpg</path>
              <path>image2.jpg</path>
              <path>image3.jpg</path>
              <path>image4.jpg</path>
              <path>image5.jpg</path>
         </imagepaths>
    </images>
    I am using the following as my actionscript.
    var xmlLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader();
    var xmlData:XML = new XML();
    xmlLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, LoadXML);
    xmlLoader.load(new URLRequest("rootdir.xml"));
    function LoadXML(e:Event):void {
    xmlData = new XML(e.target.data);
    parseImg(xmlData);
    function parseImg(imgLoad:XML):void {
    var imgChild:XMLList = imgLoad.images.children();
    for each (var imgTrace:XML in imgChild) {
    trace(imgTrace);
    No matter which way I experiment, I always have poor results with my dynamic text, and every tutorial I've followed does not reproduce anything like the same returned data in "textfield" that it does with the trace command.
    My objective is: I simply want to build a menu inside a textbox called "textfield" that lists images1-5, and when clicked, calls upon the relevant image. For instance: I load the file "rootdir.xml" into the file "index.fla". I call a function to parse the XML into a dynamic text box called "textfield". When image 2 is clicked on the textbox "textfield", it would call upon a function that would load into the UIComponent Loader "image2.jpg".
    Are there any tutorials for this? I'm so confused as to why dynamic text operates so differently from the trace command. I'm not interested in doing a fancy menu bar with thumbnails, scrollbars and animations, I just want to learn the basics.

    I don't really see how you are getting a valid trace out of that code (I get nothing if I try it as is), but as far as the textfield goes, you haven't shown any attempt in your code that might help to point to why you cannot get the text into a textfield.  It might be a problem with how you are trying to write to the textfield and not how your are manipulating the data.
    While you could make use of a textfield for the menu, doing so is not straightforward, as you would need to implement htmlText with special coding in order to have the text clickable.  You might consider using a List component or ComboBox instead.
    What I always do when I am working with xml is to store the data into a data structure, usually an array conatining objects, and then make use of that structure rather than dippng into the xml data itself when I utilize the data.
    Another thing, which rquigley demonstrated, is that your xml will serve its purpose better if the data for each image is collected under the same node.  If you have separate sections for each piece of data like you have, when it comes to editing it will be more prone to error as you have to be sure you are editing the correct entry of each separate group.
    I too am no expert in the world of xml, but I have not yet worked with parameters inside the tags, so I would usually structure it as...
    <images>
       <image>
           <imgName>image 1</imgName>
           <imgPath>image1.jpg</imgPath>
       </image>
       <image>
           <imgName>image 2</imgName>
           <imgPath>image2.jpg</imgPath>
       </image>
    </images>
    Now, back to what you have...  let's say you have a textField named imgText that you want to list the image names in.  The following should work, though I do not go my usual route of storing the data into an object array first...
    function parseImg(imgLoad:XML):void {
       var imgNames:XMLList = imgLoad.imagenames.name;
       var imgPaths:XMLList = imgLoad.imagepaths.path;
       // show name
       for each (var nameTrace:XML in imgNames) {
          trace(nameTrace);
          imgText.appendText(nameTrace +"\n");
       // show path
       for each (var pathTrace:XML in imgPaths) {
          trace(pathTrace);
          imgText.appendText(pathTrace +"\n");
       // show name and path
       for(var i:uint=0; i<imgNames.length(); i++){
          trace(imgNames[i].text()+"  "+imgPaths[i].text());
          imgText.appendText(imgNames[i].text()+"  "+imgPaths[i].text() +"\n");

  • Modification needed in scrollbar in flash 8 file

    i am a newbie flash designer. a client has asked me to make modifications in a flash file used on his website. it is flash 8 actionscript. i am currently working on the same and would appreciate your help. the client has given me 'proprietorytools.swf' file which i decompiled using sothink decompiler 4.5 build 90120 to '~proprierarytools original.fla'. the xml folder resides in the same folder as ~proprierarytools original.fla. it contains proprierarytools.xml. you can download these files at http://rapidshare.com/files/252995106/scrollbar_questions.zip
    i discovered a problem - if you view 'proprietorytools.swf' - when you click on 'aims', you can see that the scrollbar works perfectly. when you click on advigil, you can see that the scrollbar is faulty. it starts lower than the other links scollbars and has no thumb. the entire text in the xml file is not displayed.
    please help me to resolve this problem.
    my additional questions are:
    has the creator of the swf file use some unique scrollbar code or is this scrollbar provided in flash itself. in this case, i can read a tutorial to understand it better.
    is it possible to copy the scrollbar code from the links where it works, to advigil, where it doesnt work
    is this an easy bug to resolve or is it difficult?
    i have given 'scrollbar works.jpg' and 'scrollbar doesnt work.jpg' to further explain my query.
    please tell me if i have explained my problem properly or further clarifications are needed.

    the screenshots and all relevant files are contained in http://rapidshare.com/files/252995106/scrollbar_questions.zip, but i am attaching them to this post for your benefit.

  • XML parsing and pop up window

    hi,
    i have a JSP.
    this JSP has the following code..
    Relevant code snippet...
    <form name="myform" action="Parse.jsp" method="post" target="newWin" onsubmit="return doSubmit(this);">
    <input type="hidden" name="xmldata" value=<%=array[1]%>> // array[1] is an XML string returned by a class method.
    <input type="submit" value="Parse the xml">
    </form>
    <script>
    function doSubmit(formObj) {
        window.open('','newWin','scrollbars=0,menubar=0,toolbar=0,location=0,status=0');
        return true;
    </script>this Parse.jsp wants to perse the XML given to it....
    the problem is this Parse.jsp never gets the proper xml....because you know i have the value=<%=array[1]%> in the above and this is corrupting the XML.
    so, problem is how can open a pop up and send the XML string from its parent window ?

    please code sample ? demo code is enough to try
    with.This has nothing to do with samples. You should know
    which encodings you use. You decalre it in the HTML
    i have not mentioned encoding in the HTML.
    by html encoding , i think you mean this (bold letter)
    // created by dreamweaver 2004
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    </body>
    </html>if you mean that...NO, I DID NOT USE that thing in my JSP. i deleted that.
    and XML headers. XML encoding, i have this at the start of XML....
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1" ?>
    // XML data
    Java, if nothing else is said, uses
    UTF16.
    in my form i have method="post".And what do you receive? What does "corrupted" mean?
    Not well-formed? Garbage characters? Truncated?error message: [STDOUT] xmlStringelectric.xml.ParseException: java.io.IOException: could not find 59 line 1, char 46682:
    NO, i dont blame my parser. if i provide the XML seperately, then my parser works fine.
    but when i send the XML via JSP to the parser it does not work.
    that means sending of XML is making some trouble.

  • JTable help:- Setting Table Header and scrollbar

    hi
    everybody.
    i have create a table which is getting the data from URL Connection by parsing the XML file.
    All is working fine but the only problem is that i am not able to set the column headers.
    and also want to set scrollbars to my table because the data in my table is long.
    i have tried with JTableHeader and TableModel, but i am confused with it.
    so can anybody solve my problem.
    i am sending my code for creating table, and also sending the file from which the data is retrieved.
    please go through the code and reply me.
    If u are not able to parse the xml file than simply removed that part and using the QUERYResp.txt which i have attached, because i think the URL which i am using will not be accessed other than my network
    waiting for reply.

  • Request assistance - unwanted embedded scrollbars

    Hi there.
    So I have a flash intro, which shows as I want it to in Firefox and Opera...as the flash player in the center of the screen. However, in internet explorer, it shows up with ugly scrollbars (not the browser scrollbars...scrollbars within the embedded object region). How do I get rid of these without messing up appearance in the other browsers. For reference, I am using Yahoo Site Builder, which I know is a big no no, but it's where my ability is at right now. Below is the code. I am sure it is messy, but please let me know if there any major problems with it and how to fix this. Thanks.

    While re-usable, classes simply don't carry as much weight as IDs.  I realize there is some controversy over the class vs ID thing lately.  But I still prefer  IDs when it's feasible to use them.

  • Best way of displaying xml from a database column.

    I have lots of xml stored as xmltype.
    The core data is displayed in a report. If I click on a link in the report I call a popup page which should display the xml.
    This xml does occasionally exceed 32K so I can't use a textarea directly.
    Whats the best way to display the xml?
    I was thinking of maybe a URL region but haven't used these before.

    When I used htp.p I just got the description printed out.
    I now have a pl/sql region as follows:
    declare
    v_clob clob;
    BEGIN
    for cur in
    ( SELECT xmltype.getclobval(profile_text_xml) text
    from ci_profile
    where profile_id='IKM'
    LOOP
    htp.p('--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------');
    htp.plaintext(cur.text);
    htp.p('--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------');
    END LOOP;
    END;
    The problem now is that although the xml displays correctly, The bottom of the page is now not interpreted as a web page but rather as plain text.
    What I really need is the start of the page to display normally,
    the xml to be dispalyed as is,
    and then the bottom of the page to be displayed normally again.
    The bottom of my page looks like follows:
    </PLAINTEXT> -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- </td> </tr> </table><div class="t1NavigationRegion" id="R3183505456749710" ><table summary="" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0" width="100%"><tr><td align="left"></td></tr></table><table id="apex_layout_3183505456749710" class="formlayout" summary="" ><tr><td></td><td colspan="1" rowspan="1" align="left"><input type="hidden" name="p_arg_names" value="3184424442749715" /><input type="hidden" name="p_t02" value="" id="P0_TREE_ROOT" /><a class="eLink" title="Edit" href="javascript:popupURL('f?p=4000:371:3897603899166057::::P371_ID,FB_FLOW_ID,FB_FLOW_PAGE_ID:3184424442749715,111,4');" tabindex="999"><img src="/i/e.gif" alt="Edit" class="eLink" /></a></td></tr> </table> </div></td> <td valign="top">
