XML - SQL mapping
Can anyone tell me how to load an XML data into an object-relational table?
My XML file is like this:
<com>
<dept>
<section>
<emp>
<empID>213</empID>
<empName>Mike</empName>
</emp>
</section>
</dept>
</com>
Now I can only create a table of a section. If I create TYPE deptListType using REF, I can not use "OracleXML putXML" to load the XML data into the table.

Re: usage of XML SQL Utility
Hi there,
I have such a design issue, which I posted a few days ago and I reworded here. Hopefully, I made it clearer this time.
The working scenario, coded in Java, goes like this:
1> Given an XML string, I parse it out and get a set of values for a certain set of elements, say in one ROW.
2> I embed this set of values in the WHERE clause of a query string, do a SELECT.
3> Based on the result from the above SELECT, I do UPDATE, SELECT and INSERT to a few tables.
My question:
Could Oracle XML SQL Utility be used here? If yes, how?
From my reading so far, the Oracle XSU handles the SQL-XML and XML-SQL Mapping very well, in terms of a whole XML string. But, if at some point, I want to break the XML string and get some business logic mingled in it, say a simple calculation, how can I efficiently deal with it?
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Message Mapping Nested Structure to key node in JDBC XML SQL Structure
Hello everybody,
I'm facing the next problem, I have the following nested structure
<ns0:MT_Irdoc_ArchivoNested xmlns:ns0="http://ref.pemex.com/PI/FI/ArchivoIrdoc">
<Header id_consecutivo="">
<Transaction/>
<Header2/>
<Header3/>
<Header4/>
<Header5/>
<Detail>
<Transaction/>
<Detail2/>
<Detail3/>
<Detail4/>
<Detail5/>
</Detail>
</Header>
<NombreArchivo/>
</ns0:MT_Irdoc_ArchivoNested>
as you can see, Detail is a nested Node from Header Node, and Detail is with occurrence 0...unbounded, I need to generate a SELECT XML SQL Structure as follows
<StatementName>
<dbTableName action=u201DSELECTu201D>
<table>realDbTableName</table>
<access>
<col1/>
<col2/>
<col3/>
</access>
<key1>
<col4>val4</col4>
<col5>val5</col5>
<col6>val6</col6>
</key1>
</dbTableName>
</StatementName>
now my problem is that col4 and col6 are values mapped from Header fields values, and col5 mus be mapped from Detail2 field of Detail Nested Structure, and Detail is 0...unbounded so it can contain any number of values and must included in the key structure, I tried by mapping the Detail Node to the key1 node, so it will generate n numbers of key1 nodes to include in the query, and the Detail number of nodes are not constant so I can't generate key2, key3, keyn...., so what I need is to create n numbers of instances of key1 node, but the problem is that when the mapping try to generate the second instance of key1 node it gives an error in the fields that comes from Header structure, maybe I'm trying to solve my problem wrong, could anyone give some advices or direction?, thanks in advance.
Regards,
Julio CesarJulio,
After placing the below logic in the mapping editor
Details2 > SplitByValue> col5
Right click on the Details2 node and choose Context. By Default you will see Details, because Details2 is the child of Details node. I want you to choose the Parent of Details node, I believe that would be HeaderID, am I right?
If you don't want to do that then,
Details2 ---> Remove Context > SplitByvalue> col5 will do the trick!

Hi All,
I have 2 identical table structures with different data in Oracle.
I am using following xsql and XSLT sheet to produce xml files with these tables. ( have to run twice xsql file by changing the Table names )
When I run the xsql file with Table1, it works fine, produced the xml file on the browser.
But when I run the xsql file with Table2, it gives following error message:

ThanksHi Deepak
Thanks for the post, but I am afraid that's not the issue with the error.
I changed both encoding to "UTF-8" still i get the problem.
I tried even without the XSLT sheet, still I have the problem..

Hi All,
I am doing a scenario for IDOC to JDBC, When I push IDOC from R/3 , IDOC sent to XI System successfully,
I have also checked in SXMB_MONI it is showing the successful staus without any errors, and I have also copied the xml structure from main document of payloads and tested the mapping in Integration Designer, and it is showing successfull message.
here is the xml structure from payloads of Request Message Mapping ........

Using sql function in xml sql statement
Hello,
I have following statement:
select field1, field2,....,field10 from table( cast (get_mhdata(:1,:2) as mhdata))
where mhdata is an oracle type with 10 fields.
It works good, but I don't know how can I use this statement in xml sql statement.
Please, can you tell me if it is really possible.
Thanks in regards.Hi
You cant pass the parameters if you are executing writing this select function from the communication channel.
You have 3 options:
1) Use a stored procedure and execute from the communication channel
2) Use a stored procedure and execute via message mapping in the IR - here you can pass parameters
3) Same as above but call the query via SQL select - you can also pass parameters.
sincerely,

Who use sql-mapping with java.util.regex?
Hi everyone:
I use the IBatis SQL-Mapping and I think it is very good.Now I want to add the search function to my BBS forum.I also want to display the content high light like jive.I mean that if I want to find the string "ibatis",then the search result "ibatis" will be high light displayed.
So I must use the java.util.regex in jsdk1.4.But the problem is that what I get is a List if I use sql-mapping.For example:
String resource="conf/XML/sql/lyo-sql-map.xml";
Reader reader=Resources.getResourceAsReader(resource);
sqlmap=XmlSqlMapBuilder.buildSqlMap(reader);
List articlelist=sqlmap.executeQueryForList("selectSiteArticle","%"+icontent+"%");
The result I get is a List and I have no time to use regex.
I don't know whether I could do this:
Iterate the List,use the regex and later place all the object back to the List.
It's right?
How to use regex with sql-mapping?ThksAny idea? :(

JDBC Sender Response Message as an XML SQL
Hi All,
I have a scenario as follows :
JDBC Sender <-> XI (synchronous) <-> ABAP Proxy.
I'm hoping that I can use XML SQL form at the JDBC Sender Response message, so I can update some fields at the database using the response message's data. But actually it's not working. Please advise whether it's applicable or not ? If it's not, is there any other way to do that ?
Thanks in advance,
Andy SAndy,
Adding to the discussion here, JDBC sender adapter does not support Synchronous Processing .It supports only Asynch procesing and so, you would need a BPM inorder to update the database again with the ABAP Proxy response.
You would have a sender jdbc adapter polling over the db and getting the data, --> a receiev step in the BPM receives the data.
Next a send Synch Step makes the call to the ABAP Proxy and get the response.
You map this response to a JDBC receiver adapters data format on the basis of the action you need and then use a send step with a receierv JDBC adapter to update the DB.

TopLink : attribute-mapping direct-xml-type-mapping
hi
Using TopLink Workbench 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.0.0) Build 060118 it is possible to configure a "Direct to XML Type" mapping.
see http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/toplink/doc/1013/main/_html/relmapun004.htm#CHDFIFEF
In the TopLink map this results in a
<opm:attribute-mapping xsi:type="toplink:direct-xml-type-mapping">Is there a way to configure this kind of attribute mapping using JDeveloper?
thanks
Jan VerveckenHi Paul,
The problem you're going to hit trying to do this with a TransformationMapping in 904 (as in my other post) is that during the UnitOfWork commit, when TopLink is checking for changes a .equals will end up being called on an XMLType instance which will throw a NullPointerException (in oracle.sql.Datum I think).
One way to work around this (depending on the requirements for your app) is to set the isMutable flag on the TransformationMapping to false. This flag indicates that the value in the object's attribute isn't going to be changed, so we don't bother trying to check to see if it's changed. This will allow you to do reads, inserts and deletes with no problems.
The downside is that if you need to be able to change the XML content in your objects model and do an update of the row, TopLink will never detect a change and never issue an update of the XMLType field.
Incidentilly, if you happen to hit the same issue you had with the DirectToXMLTypeMapping where you were getting back an instance of java.sql.Opaque instead of the expected oracle.xdb.XMLType from JDBC, you should be able to handle that case in your AttributeTransformer by doing
XMLType myXML = XMLType.createXML(myOpaque)
Document = myXML.getDocument();
Hope this helps

Unable to load Oracle XML SQL utility
The following error appears for each java
class, when we attempt to load Oracle XML sql
utility into Oracle using the oraclexmlsqlload
script:
E.g.
Error while resolving class OracleXMLStore
ORA-00904: invalid column name
Does anyone know why we would receive this error?
Platform: Hp-UX 11.0
Oracle Version: 8.1.5.0
Background information:
The database was original created with the
compatible=8.0.5 set in the init.ora file, and
the creatation of java classes failed due to this,
so switched compatible to 8.1.0. Now after we
we adjusted the compatible setting and restarted
database, we started to receive the errors as
described above.
nullMurali,
Thank you, after I initialized Oracle's javavm
the errors disappeared.
The scripts were located under the javavm/install
directory.
Thanks again.

Hi!
I am trying to reuse a code in JDeveloper to get XML from a query. I have copied the code from a method and created a new method with the copied code and changed it. The problem is that when I run the old code I now get following error:
Ett oförväntat fel har inträffat: Application: FND, Message Name: FND_GENERIC_MESSAGE.
Tokens: MESSAGE = oracle.xml.sql.OracleXMLSQLException: Det här objektet har stängts.
Vill du inte att objektet ska stängas automatiskt mellan anropen kan du granska metoden 'keepObjectOpen()'.;
This means in english something like:
An unexpected error accoured: Application: FND, Message Name: FND_GENERIC_MESSAGE = oracle.xml.sql.OracleXMLSQLException: This object is closed. If you don't want the object to close automatically between calls you can check method 'keepObjectOpen()';
the code I'm running is:
public String punchoutSomething()
throws Exception
StringBuffer sqlForXml =new StringBuffer("select pv.*"
+", cursor(select * from XXPOS_PUNCHOUT_TABLE2 c where c.vendor_id=pv.vendor_id) as contacts"
+" from XXPOS_PUNCHOUT_TABLE1 pv where vendor_id in (");
// add all ids
SuppSummVOImpl vendorView = getSuppSummVO();
Row row;
int punchoutCnt=0;
// vendorView.reset();
Row[] selectedRows = vendorView.getFilteredRows("SelectStatus","Y");
for(int i=0;i<selectedRows.length;i++)
if(punchoutCnt>0)
sqlForXml.append(",");
sqlForXml.append(((Number)selectedRows.getAttribute("VendorId")).toString());
punchoutCnt++;
if(punchoutCnt==0)
sqlForXml.append("-1"); // make sql valid, will not return rows
sqlForXml.append(")");
// System.out.println(sqlForXml); // DEBUG
OADBTransaction tx = (OADBTransaction)getOADBTransaction();
OracleXMLQuery xq = new OracleXMLQuery( tx.getJdbcConnection()
, sqlForXml.toString()
xq.setRaiseException(true); // in case of error raise an exception (default
// is to generate an error document
xq.setEncoding("UTF-8"); // not necessary?
xq.useLowerCaseTagNames();
xq.setRowsetTag("vendors");
xq.setRowTag("vendors_row");
//System.out.println(xq.getXMLString()); // DEBUG
XMLDocument suppl = (XMLDocument)xq.getXMLDOM();
XSLProcessor xslt = new XSLProcessor();
InputStream sheetStream = this.getClass().getResourceAsStream("mystylesheet.xsl");
if(sheetStream==null)
throw new Exception("Could not load stylesheet");
XSLStylesheet sheet = xslt.newXSLStylesheet(
sheetStream
StringWriter serialize = new StringWriter();
xslt.processXSL(sheet,suppl,new PrintWriter(serialize));
String returnXML = serialize.getBuffer().toString();
// System.out.println("X:"+returnXML); // DEBUG
sheetStream.close();
return returnXML;
===================
i've copied the same code into another method and only changed the sql-statment to be used and the stylesheet to use to transform the xml. Is something wrong with that?
Another question: if the xsl refers to a xsd but wihtout any path where should it be?
Thanks for the help,
PatriciaActually, having looked at Metalink, seems that although this message may be accurate and correct,
it has been 'introduced' as part of the 9i JDBC driver.
So, I used the 8i JDBC driver I happened to have instead and that worked fine. -
1.2 JVM crashes using XML SQL Utility 1.1.10 (NT 8.1.5)
I am trying to use the XML SQL Utility for Java (Oracle 8.1.5) to obtain a DTD or XML schema for tables in our database.
I have installed the XSU111.ZIP archive,
set the CLASSPATH and stuff, loaded the JAR
files (xmlparserv2.jar, oraclexmlsql.jar)
processed the xmlgenpkg.sql script (following the installation instructions)
When I execute the samples in Java, the JVM (JDK 1.2.2) crashes in javai.dll.
The same error occurs when I run java OracleXML getXML ....
The installation file (env.bat) lists the JDBC driver ZIP as CLASSES12.ZIP, which is of course, not available for 8.1.5, which is what the download instructions indicated is appropriate for XSU 1.1.1.
Any ideas? Do I need to upgrade to 8.1.6?
Can I patch the JDBC with classes12.ZIP.
By the way, when I execute the commands in PL/SQL using xmlgen package, everything is fine.
Regards and Much thanksSet JDK_HOME to the directory where you install your JDK (Java Development Kit).
So instance, I've install JDK1.1.8 on my
C drive so
set JDK_HOME=c:\jdk1.1.8;c:\jdk1.1.8\bin -

[CS2][AS] Make XML import map is calling a refresh on styles?
If this can be of use to someone else... it's probably not CS2,AS specific.. but this is what i use.
It's the second time i have a bug like this, where changing the order of my calls is fixing the problem. With this one, i was getting random missing font error (times(1)) while batching documents(wich make the batch script batch crash as there is a modal dialog open). Not always on the same document, it was really fustrating as i was not able to get my finger on the problem!
I actually knew the source of the problem as i had added a fix (maybe not the best solution, but it was working well) that actually was removing the style from all the text frame (i noticed that using map style to tag was not always working well(when text frame had overriden?), so that's why i added code to reset the style before doing a map. But i was not understanding why it was happening so randomly...
I tought at first it was happening during save (as it reopen the document) but after a few experimentation it looked like it was occuring during the import map redefinition (See code below: make XML import map with properties {markup tag:tStyle, mapped style:tStyle}).
Looks like the make XML import is calling some sort of document refresh wich then pop the font missing dialog (even with never interact as script preferences!)! (missing font is actually a bug i had also in other circumstances.. exemple when you have a extra return at the end of a tagged text (outside the tag)). A bit unexpected, i really tought that creating a xml import map was just creating data structure in document model to be used later on by the auto style call...
The problematic script:
tell application "Adobe InDesign CS2"
set myDocument to document 1
tell myDocument
--Reset styles.
set applied character style of every text of every text frame of every spread to character style 1
set applied paragraph style of every text of every text frame of every spread to paragraph style 1
--Create a tag to style mapping.
set tList to name of every XML tag
set tNumItems to count of tList
repeat with i from 1 to tNumItems
set tStyle to item i of tList
make XML import map with properties {markup tag:tStyle, mapped style:tStyle}
end repeat
--Map the XML tags to the defined styles.
auto style
end tell
end tell
And the working solution (just moved the reset of style after the import map creation loop):
tell application "Adobe InDesign CS2"
set myDocument to document 1
tell myDocument
--Create a tag to style mapping.
set tList to name of every XML tag
set tNumItems to count of tList
repeat with i from 1 to tNumItems
set tStyle to item i of tList
make XML import map with properties {markup tag:tStyle, mapped style:tStyle}
end repeat
--Reset styles.
set applied character style of every text of every text frame of every spread to character style 1
set applied paragraph style of every text of every text frame of every spread to paragraph style 1
--Map the XML tags to the defined styles.
auto style
end tell
end tellit doesnt print any server control message. in my "page_404.jsp" I am printing current date and time (to check if the server visited that page) everytime when i refresh "index.jsp" the server goes to "page_404.jsp" and prints the current date and time.
so basically the only message which the console shows is the current date/time which i am printing in the "page_404.jsp"
Thanks.
