Xml to file failure. Details within...

Hi All,
I'm currently working on an xml to flat file scenario where we are using the collection method for multiple Idocs/PI processes a single xml file retrieved from a local directory. The back end is set up properly for collection/single xml file out and all tests using my maps in Integration Builder (design) seem to work as well, but I am receiving the following error when I try and process the outbound xml file (after PI retrieves it from the directory):

  • How to calculate number of data records in a XML output file

    Hi,
    After generating a XML output file from Oracle Reports, I want to calculate number of records in the XML file. Is it possible? Specifically, I want to calculate number of records for a group variable ( organization_id, which I use for bursting).
    Thanks for the help.

    Thanks BIPuser. It is useful for me.
    I can use this xsl function within the template. However, I'm also looking to print this in the concurrent request log file. So, outside of rtf template, id there any PL/SQL based XML functions I can use to count the number of records.
    Thanks.

  • Use of PL/SQL to populate table columns from XML data file

    I'm trying to find the easiest way to transfer data from a flat file that is in XML format into a traditional Oracle table. Not retaining the XML but actually map an XML element to a column so standard SQL, Forms, Reports, etc can access like it was created using a Form.
    Example: Table A has column names Tom, Dick and Harry and the XML file has elements Tom, Dick and Harry and I just want a function that maps and inserts/loads the data into Table As individual columns.
    The process needs to be easily initiated by an end user. The user gets the XML data file via an email attachment and needs to do something like a Concurrent Request to pull in the file and load it. Using PL/SQL would be great.
    I appreciate any help that can be provided.

    Hi,
    HELP!!!!!
    We are having the same problem and we are using oracle 10ir2.
    We create an object type (sql type globally not in a package):
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE G_EX AS OBJECT
    ( EX_ID NUMBER ,
    EX_CON VARCHAR2 ( 100 ) ,
    EX_L VARCHAR2 ( 30 ) ,
    EX_T VARCHAR2 ( 4000 ) );
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE G_EX LIST AS TABLE OF  GEX AS ;
    then we insert data through a bulk collect within the package with the table declared of this array of object types:
    v_table G_EX _LIST:= NULL;
    SELECT G_EX (ex_id
    ,ex_con
    ,ex_l
    ,ex_t )
    BULK COLLECT INTO v_table
    FROM exs_lookup;
    I am using the syntax (below) but it gives PL/SQL: ORA-00902: invalid datatype
    sometimes not always:
    SELECT G_EX ( ex_id
    ,ex_con
    ,ex_l
    ,ex_t )
    BULK INTO v_data_record
    FROM TABLE (v_table)
    WHERE ex_id = p_key;
    where p_key - is a number type
    and v_data_record is a G_EX object type.
    I was wondering if anyone else encountered a similar problem, and knows what we may have done wrong. Since we dont understand why this piece of code is throwing this ora-00902 errors occasionally not always.
    Also, if we restart the database up once this errors occurs it appears to stop throwing this ora_00902 error for a lenght of time. Then it comes up with the ora-00902 error again (why?)
    thanks

  • Variable not being included in XML data file output

    This seems like it should be obvious, but I've struggled with this for a couple of days.
    As a programming principle, I like to make the form as "smart" as possible and the resulting Word templates, or XML documents as simple as possible. I need to be able to set a "flag" that would be in the XML data file if certain conditions are met, e.g.,
    if (field1.rawValue == "0"){variable1 == "1"};
    if (field2.rawValue == "0") {variable1 == "1"}; etc.
    The problem that I'm having is that I can't seem to get variable1 to be included in the XML data file that the form creates.
    Help! This seems like it should be so simple but I'm baffled.
    Bill

    The variable you're setting does not fall within the scope of the xml output (it's scope is only within the execution of the form).
    Try creating a variable (Using File > Form Properties >Variable) and assigning your value to it (variableName.value = 1).
    One note of warning, you'll want to trigger the validation event every time the form is opened or your value will return to the default value when users re-open the form.

  • Problem generating XML data file through XSD

    Hello there,
    I'm trying to generate an XML data file as per the below steps:
    Making a normal schema in query transform.
    Mapping desired source column into query schema.
    Right click on query transform and generating XML schema (XSD) in my local system.
    In object library XML file format adding the XSD with schema as a root element.
    Creating target instance from object library XML file.
    In target file specifying file creation path in my local system.
    After performing above steps and executing the job getting below error.
    Any help on this will be much appreciated.

    I found some code looking at a similar issue - I don't know how to recover other data (in I guess) the rest of the HTML in the code. I need to find a better reference with details and examples.
    I fixed it by changing:
        ssDebug.trace(moreStuff.xliff.file.body.trans-unit); // - error
    to:
       ssDebug.trace(moreStuff.file.body['trans-unit']); //- no error

    Hi Ganesh,
    Flat file data load into BI 7.0
    Schematically here are the steps you need to follow to load a flat file or csv in BI 7.0:
    1. Create the infoobjects you might need in BI
    2. Create your target infoprovider
    3. Create a source system
    4. Create a datasource
    5. Create and configure an Infopackage that will bring your records to the PSA
    6. Create a transformation from the datasource to the Infoprovider
    7. Create a Data Transfer Process (DTP) from the datasource to the Infoprovider
    8. Schedule the infopackage
    9. Once succesful, run the DTP
    10.your Infoprovider should be full

  • XML 1header and n detail records

    Hi All,
    AM new to XML Files generation.
    I need a procedure which satisfies my business requirement
    My business requirement is
    we need to generate XML target files based on customer number.and item number. The out put file should contain Customer details in header and detail record should contain all the items ,quantity which belong to that customer.
    For example if there are 4 customer's and each customer has 2 items under them then the XML files should be like
    <Header>
    customer number1
    </Header>
    <Detail>
    Item 1
    </Detail>
    <Detail>
    Item 2
    </Detail>
    In the above format i need to generate 4 XML files as i have 4 customers.
    Could you please help me in writing a stored procedure for this requirement.
    Thank you very much for your help in advance.
    Regards,

    This will certainly not give what you expect :
    xmlelement("Header", interface_type, partner_id, transfer_date, bix_customer_code, h_bix_article_num, uom, quantity_sold, batch_number),I'd use this instead (give the proper aliasing for XMLForest items, if necessary) :
    FOR r IN (
      select bix_customer_code
             xmlserialize(document
               xmlelement("RecordType",
                 xmlelement("Header",
                   xmlforest( interface_type
                            , partner_id
                            , transfer_date
                            , bix_customer_code
                            , h_bix_article_num
                            , uom
                            , quantity_sold
                            , batch_number )
                 xmlagg(
                   xmlelement("detail",
                     xmlforest( item_type
                              , l_bix_article_num
                              , batch_number
                              , usable_until
                              , total_quantity
                              , qc_status
                              , manufacturing_date
                              , expiry_date
                              , xml_version )
               as clob
             ) as xmldoc
      from agg_apo_stock
      group by interface_type
             , partner_id
             , transfer_date
             , bix_customer_code
             , h_bix_article_num
             , uom
             , quantity_sold
             , batch_number
    LOOP
      dbms_xslprocessor.clob2file(
        '<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>' || r.xmldoc
      , 'MYDIR'
      , 'BIX_CUSTOMER_'||r.bix_customer_code||'.xml'
      , nls_charset_id('AL32UTF8')
    END LOOP;
    Question 2 :
    in the procedure the files are stored in 'MYDIR' , could you please let me know where can we see the XML Files?MYDIR is an Oracle directory object pointing to a physical location.
    If you're the one who created it, you should know where it points.
    If not, query DBA_DIRECTORIES dictionary view.

  • Strange issue creating a BCP xml format file with double dagger '‡' (alt + 0135) as column terminator with bcp.exe

    Hi,
    I'm having issues generating a BCP XML format file using a fairly unusual column terminator, a double dagger symbol
    ‡ (alt + 0135) which I need to support.
    I'm experiencing this problem with bcp.exe for SQL2008 R2 and SQL2012.
    If I run the following command line:
    bcp MyDB.TMP.Test_Extract format nul -c -x -f "C:\BCP\format_file_dagger_test.xml" -T -S localhost\SQL2012 -t‡
    I end up with a XML format file like so:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <BCPFORMAT xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/2004/bulkload/format" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
     <RECORD>
      <FIELD ID="1" xsi:type="CharTerm" TERMINATOR="ç" MAX_LENGTH="255" COLLATION="SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS"/>
      <FIELD ID="2" xsi:type="CharTerm" TERMINATOR="ç" MAX_LENGTH="50"
    .. and so on.
    You will notice that the TERMINATOR="ç" (Minuscule c-cedilla) is output instead of TERMINATOR="‡". The
    ç character, is strangely enough is alt + 135 (and not alt + 0135) so this might more than a coincidence! I know you can specify the codepage but this switch applies the data being imported or extracted and not for the format file
    itself (I tried it anyway).
    In order to use the XML file to bulk import I manually did a text substitution of 'ç' character for '‡' and then BCP imports '‡' data fine.
    This character swap doesn't occur if I generate a non XML format file (the '‡' character is output in the format file correctly) however, this file produces other import errors, which I don't encounter if I use a standard delimiter like a comma. So I have stuck
    with the working XML format file which I prefer.
    Does anyone know why this is happening? I'm planning to automate the generation the of the XML format file and would like to avoid the additional step of text substitution if possible.
    Thank you.

    Hi Ham09,
    According to your description , we do a test and find that the character of the terminator is changed due to the code page of Operation System. When you choose the different time zone in Data and Time bar, and do the same bcp test, you will find it will
    export the different TERMINATOR in your XML format file. For example, you can import the character "ç" (alt + 135) in (UTC-12:00)International Date Line West time zone and (UTC+09:00)Osaka, Sapporo, Tokyo time zone, and check if the terminators are different.
    By default, the field terminator is the tab character (represented as \t). To represent a paragraph mark, use \r\n.
    For more information, there is detail about code page(Windows), you can review the following article.

  • Create XML external file through BIP

    Hi All,
    I'm trying to create an XML document to send to a printing company.
    I've created the XSL template file and uploaded into BIP as an XSL Stylesheet.
    The problem I'm having is how to call the stylesheet from within an RTF file, so I can create an XML formatted file to send to the printing company.
    Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks, Rod.

    Marcus
    i'd recommend you create an empty project file in FCP and export it to XML.
    use the exported file as resource data, as it provides you with the basic XML project file container.
    then you can just add the additional <parent> and <child> elements as required
    also highly recommended would be the free XMLLib osax from Satimage, although it would be better if you learn how to do it with the built in libraries
    for basic aplescript info, visit http://applescriptsourcebook.com/

  • How to view TestStand XML results files

    Hi Gurus,
    We have used TestStand to save literally thousands of test results files in the XML format. TestStand allowed us to view a specific results file immediately after a test sequence, however I can't find a way to view the XML test results files otherwise. In other words, how can I view any one of a number of TestStand-generated XML results files using TestStand or otherwise (in an appropriate format/style) ?
    Regards
    Mike V

    Hi Ray
    its version 6.0.blablabla
    For some reason it doesn't find the stylesheet on the PC where its being launched from. i can fix the problem by editing the XML's stylesheet path within the xml file and putting style sheet in same directory as results, but I had to write a program to modify all the files because there were so many. Future files no problem.
    On another issue, we have thousands of results files stored in XML. Now I need to do some statistical analysis on the results but extracting the fields into a spreadsheet is a nightmare, I wish i'd used text files (database ultimate goal). Any tips here?
    Also, in TestStand there seems to be only one location allowable to store all results files. Ideally i want to store results files in product-specific directories, ie not put results for all UUT types in the same directory. Is this possible?
    Also, how can I append the word "Pass" of "Fail" into the results file name so you can tell at a glance if a test was passed without opening the file?
    Regards
    Mike
