Issue while creating Data Model in BI Publisher and logging into xmlpserver

Hi All,
We are facing an issue in OBIEE 11.1.1.5.
If we are logging with Non Admin Id (other than weblogic) and select New Data Model, a blank screen is coming. Where as, if we use Admin Id, we are getting screen as usual for creating data model. There were some blogs mentioning to change Priviledges for SOAP access, but that approach is also not working.
Further, we are also not able to open xmlpserver with Non Admin Id.
Any help or pointers would be great.

as per the oracle documentation I succeeded in Analytics UI customization.But this customization not reflecting in xmlpserver UI.

Hi Arvnd,
The logos for BI Publisher are not in the same location then Answers and Dashboards.(s_oracle, sk_oracle)
In your case the logo is:
OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\xmlpserver\xmlpserver\xdo\images\oracle.gif
You can replace the image restart your application server and normaly you will see your new logo

Cannot see Shared Folders from xmlpserver - OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.5)

Hi All,
I have got a an issue with the permissions i.e. I can log in to http://hostname:7001/analytics and open a report that is stored in "Shared Folders" but if I log in to http//hostname:7001/xmlpserver with same user I cannot see Shared Folders.
How to fix this issue? Thanks in advance.

The user is the Admin user. This user is part of XMLP_ADMIN group as well.
I can create a file from http://hostname:7001/xmlpserver in the shared folders but cannot see. I can see the same file from http://hostname:7001/analytics. any idea?

Error deploying xmlpserver.war to jboss 5 and java 6

I am getting the following error when deploying the xmlpserver.war to jboss 5.1 and java 6. Has anyone run into this before?

I found an IBM Technote that described a fix that worked for me. Remove the jar that contains your OracleXML classes (i.e. xmlparserv2.jar).
Place it here instead:
${JBOSS_HOME}/server/${jboss.server.configuration}/lib
That worked for me. Good luck.

The stack trace indicates - some libraries can't be found:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/phaos/crypto/CipherExceptionThe missing above library comes from ojpse.jar ( which is located by default installation in $OracleBI_home/oc4j_bi/jlib/ojpse.jar ) - that let me suggest, you took your xmlpserver.war from oc4j distribution. So, in that case, a workaround could be to include this jar into classpath before starting WebLogic server. The proper solution ( i think ) - you should deploy a standalone version of xmlpserver ( if you download bi publisher and unzip this archive from http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/publishing/index.html - you will find in the folder Oracle_Business_Intelligence_Publisher_Standalone/manual/generic a little differently packaged xmlpserver.war - which does include the mentioned library - under WEB-INF/lib, among some other additional libraries ). If i remember correctly, i've read it somewhere in documentation as well - about deployment bi publisher under 3rd party application server - the fully packaged version ( also not from the oc4j deployment) should be used.

I have a problem with OBIEE 11g of starting the weblogic.
I fact with problem below:
when I :
Login
- http://obiee:7001/em ; I got this message: "*Login is in progress ...*"
- http://obiee:7001/ui ; http://obiee:7001/xmlpserver ; I got this error message: "*Error 404--Not Found From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:10.4.5 404 Not Found* "
- http://obiee:7001/em ; I got this message: "An invalid User Name or Password was entered."
can you help me to fix the problems above?
Note: when I install the OBIEE 11g , I used 192.168.110.112, and after that I change my IP address to 192.168.110.115.
Is that a problem of this title too?

I have configured Read only external SQL authenticator.
I am able to see all the users in weblogic and am able to log in to analytics. but unable to login to xmlpserver
am unable to opem the Manage Previllages seection under Administration.
am getting the following error

I found an IBM Technote that described a fix that worked for me. Remove the jar that contains your OracleXML classes (i.e. xmlparserv2.jar).
Place it here instead:
${JBOSS_HOME}/server/${jboss.server.configuration}/lib
That worked for me. Good luck.

Its causing a problem because you have modified the default username and password you will have to modify the credential store file for BI presentation service and BI Publisher to use the same username and password.

Relative path for images in RTF templates

Hi everybody!
When I insert an image in a RTF template, I put its path into the web dialog, in order to see correctly the picture when I open the report from the xmlp server, in this way: url:{"http://servername/analytics/res/Images/image.bmp"}
How can I make this path relative, in order to see the images even if the server name changes?

I am using BIP 10.1.3.3.2. I am able to access system variable CURRENT_SERVER URL.
Steps:

CURRENT_SERVER_URL is getting printed in BI Publisher. Value displayed is http://xx4697.xxx.co.in:9704/xmlpserver.
Now we are importing xsl into RTF template. File aaa.xsl is stored at [BIP_Installation_Directory\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\default-web-app]
We have hardcoded the path for XSL in RTF. The path is <?import: http://xx4697.xxx.co.in:9704/aaa.xsl?>
As we want to set dynamic path we changed hardcoded xsl path to <?import: {$CURRENT_SERVER_URL}/../aaa.xsl?> but it is not working. Sometimes BIP is taking local path of MyDocuments folder and sometimes Desktop path. If I put that XSL file in MyDocuments folder or Desktop, it is working fine. But ideally it should refer [BIP_Installation_Directory\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\default-web-app] path...

The following Error is occured while FTPing a BI publisher report. The scheduling was running fine for the lase 1 year .But this error is occuring in production schedule of the ftp for the last 2 days.When I do the FTP by 'Run Immediately' manually it works fine.

I've also encounter this error since many mounth now and especially when using Excel Template (not RTF Template) with FTP Delivery (Without Busting OR with ScheduleBustringOption=FALSE using BIP Web Service).
I've performed many tests trying to diagnose the cause but I need to redo these test because they was not done corretly. What I think is this is related with the processing of XML DATA with the corresponding Template.
I remember that in most cases I had the folowing conditions to reproduce the problem :
- Report is executed by scheduling it with FTP delivery
- The correponding query did not return data (empty XML structure)
- When execution ends, schedule status is SUCCESS (Data processing ???) but delivery is FAILED due to document not found in BIP temporary directories
- When scheduling the report without using the template (that is XML format output) then all work perfectly without ERROR
So you'll need to perform many test cases to identify cause OR submit bug on Oracle Support.
I think sometimes BIP needs some MINIMAL XML structure for generated data to be able to work without error with template (RTF or EXCEL) which contains special formating like chart for example.
Unfortunatly debugging those are very ........
We solved our problem by modiying the template until error dissapear when no data is returned by the report query (I did not create SR on Oracle Support for this issue)

The file not found */PATH_TO_BIP_TEMPORARY/xdo/tmp/xmlp1038692480549035173tmp* was created by BIP at the begining of the whole process with some other temporary files within the same temporary directory
I guess at end of process BIP tries to perform some kind of merging with all temporary files created and associated with the corresponding JOBID. May I'm wrong ???
