XPath Error

Hi folks,
I am making a BPEL process in which I am assigning values from a temp variable to a variable named BEData. Then I am running a parallel flow each containing an adaptor service calling an API from database. Time & again I am encountering the following error:-
ORABPEL-05002
Message handle error.
An exception occurred while attempting to process the message "com.collaxa.cube.engine.dispatch.message.invoke.InvokeInstanceMessage"; the exception is: XPath expression failed to execute.
Error while processing xpath expression, the expression is "ora:processXSLT('XformDPPToPricingHeader.xsl',bpws:getVariableData('BEData'))", the reason is FOTY0001: type error.
Please verify the xpath query.

Its saying its FOTY0001 type error , what I access from this is that it is not able to process BEData variable. Using Java Embedding checkpoint I am able to find that it is assigning value from temp var to BEData var correctly. Any idea about solving the issue would be very helpful.

Varun

For some reason JDevloper leaves the third argument to ora:processXSLT out. I have found this to happen when you change from design mode to source mode.
The statement should have been
ora:processXSLT('XformDPPToPricingHeader.xsl',bpws:getVariableData('BEData','payload'))
or something like that.
Deleting the Transformation and adding it again will fix it, but it will eventually happen again so watch out.

  • XML-23002: (Error) internal xpath error while calling template

    Hi,
    I have used call-template named Chemloop in my xslt in the following way as attached in the xsl file. But when I am testing this xsl file through the bpel transformation, getting the error XML-23002: (Error) internal xpath error. Using this xslt I am converting a flat file into a xml file. My xslt except the call template part is working fine. Please suggest me if I m doing anything wrong.

    I can't get what are you trying to achieve by a construction like bellow...
    /alcebo:DeliveryDetail[position()]
    Remember XSLT is not a procedural language... a selector like /alcebo:DeliveryDetail[position() = $var] or just /alcebo:DeliveryDetail[$var] would make more sense...
    Cheers,

  • Xpath error in 11g, works in 10g

    Hi all,
    We have migrated all reports from 10g to 11g and I have an issue on one of them.
    When I run the template in the template viewer I managed to get the logs and it says:
    [041912_095152537][oracle.xdo.common.xml.XSLTWrapper][ERROR] XSL error:

    Can anyone give me a hint on this one?
    As I mentioned it is working just fine in 10g.
    Thanks
    Magnus

    We're facing the same issue. Looking for solution.

  • Xpath error in calling function module through jco

    Hello Experts,
    We have a production XMII system which was running fine when suddenly it started giving the xpath errors in the log file.
    The error that we got was -
    Uncaught exception from SAPJCOInterface_0, No nodes found in variable 'SAPJCOInterface_0.Request' and xpath:
    I checked the XML found that the structure was there but values were missing in the XML. We restarted the server and the error stopped coming.
    Has anyone faced similar issue ? What should be look at to find the root cause of this problem ?
    Thanks,
    SB

    Hi,
    While using the form interface variables, don't use them directly in the smartforms because form interface variable, workareas and tables are read only (in ur case g_vbeln,g_age,g_mahza). Instead of that declare a global variable in the smartform of the same type and In the initiialization tab assign print parameter values to global fields and use them in the smartform. • What is the cause of the XPath error in concat expression

    Hi,
    In a BPEL process I am working on I am building a list as follows -
    <copy>
    <from expression="concat(bpws:getVariableData('FMSNumbersList'),' | ',bpws:getVariableData('Invoke_1_GetFmsHeadersSelect_OutputVariable','FmsWaveAssignCollection','/ns5:FmsWaveAssignCollection/ns5:FmsWaveAssign/ns5:fmsHeadersCollection/ns5:FmsHeaders[bpws:getVariableData('FmsHeadersProcessed')]/ns5:fmsNumber'))"/>
    <to variable="FMSNumbersList"/>
    </copy>
    When I compile the project I get the following error -
    Error(195): invalid xpath expression
    xpath expression "concat(bpws:getVariableData(&apos;FMSNumbersList&apos;),&apos; | &apos;,bpws:getVariableData(&apos;Invoke_1_GetFmsHeadersSelect_OutputVariable&apos;,&apos;FmsWaveAssignCollection&apos;,&apos;/ns5:FmsWaveAssignCollection/ns5:FmsWaveAssign/ns5:fmsHeadersCollection/ns5:FmsHeaders[bpws:getVariableData(&apos;FmsHeadersProcessed&apos;)]/ns5:fmsNumber&apos;))" specified in <from> is not valid, because XPath query syntax error.
    The syntax error occurs while parsing XPath expression concat(bpws:getVariableData('FMSNumbersList'),' | ',bpws:getVariableData('Invoke_1_GetFmsHeadersSelect_OutputVariable','FmsWaveAssignCollection','/ns5:FmsWaveAssignCollection/ns5:FmsWaveAssign/ns5:fmsHeadersCollection/ns5:FmsHeaders[bpws:getVariableData('FmsHeadersProcessed')]/ns5:fmsNumber')), at position 255.
    The XPath query syntax was wrong; the exception was: Expected: ).
    Check the detailed root cause described in the exception message text and verify that the XPath expression named in the error message is correct. The XPath expression is defined in the BPEL process.
    Make sure the expression is valid
    I am unable to figure out what is wrong with the above expression. Can someone please help.
    Thanks in advance
    Harish

    You have to use two copy statement to fetch values like an Array.
    1. Construct a dynamic xpath expression
    2. Use dynmaic xpath to get the array value
    Eg:
    The below code shows how to use assign to build the dynamic XPath.
    <assign name="Assign_XPath_For_Array">
    <copy>
    <from expression="concat('/ns1:ArrayList/ns2:ArrayElem[',bpws:getVariableData('Variable_Index_Counter'),']') "/>
    <to variable="Variable_Xpath"/>
    </copy>
    </assing>
    Note have used [index] to represent index element here in the array.
    Here Variable_Xpath acts as a temporary string variable that holds the intermediate Xpath as string.
    Now use this XPath string Variable while reading array index elements.
    This would look like
    <assign name="Assign_Read_Array">
    <copy>
    <from expression="bpws:getVariableData('Variable_Array','payload',bpws:getVariableData('Variable_Xpath'))"/>
    <to variable="Variable_Read_Array_Element"
    query="/ns1: ABC"/>
    </copy>
    </assign>

  • How to find out XPath-Errors, that are only logged on the console

    Hi,
    I'm using the Java-API of XMLP Standalone Version 5.6.2. If my layout contains a german umlaut, like:
    <?for-each:Behälter_zeile?>
    <?BEFMTB_BEZEICHNUNG?>
    <?end for-each?>
    I get the following output in my application console when I call RTFProcessor.process() for this layout:
    [040609_111900450][][ERROR] [Line 118.183] Incorrect XPath: Behälter_zeile
    There is no exception thrown and the generated document seems to be correct.
    My question: How can I determine such an error in my application? I want to do at least some intelligent logging.
    Mirko

    Hi Thomas,
    According to your description, you want to have a role-specific default member for different roles. Right?
    In Analysis Services, when granting access to dimension, a connection will fail if a role restricts access to a default measure. As you mentioned, the best solution is specify a default member for each role. But for administrator role(full control),
    it can't set the default member. All tabs except General and Membership are disabled. And the system can determines the default member of current user automatically. It's not supported to get the default member in MDX either.
    However, SSAS has additive design for role security. So in this scenario, we just need to create another role for those members of administrator role and specify a default member for this role. SSAS will take that role-specific default member
    for these users. And it will not effect the administration permission for them.
    Reference:
    Default members, MDX Scripts, Security, KPIs and Perspectives

    If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

    Hi
    Are u using any FCC parameters for file adapter?
    If so don't do that. I tried with the same. You have to go with xml only. Otherwise there is some package related to that. you need to download.
    Go to this note for more details.

  • Xpath error while trying to send attachment with email

    Hi,
    I was trying to execute the BPEL sample - SendingAttachementWithEmail, as given in the tutorials.
    I had mapped the 'contentBody' in attachment[2] to
    ora:readFile(bpws:getVariableData('inputVariable','payload',
    '/client:SendEmailWithAttachmentProcessRequest/client:attachmentURI')
    I have a file called "SOA.txt" in my C:\ (C drive).
    I specified the following details in my 'initiate' screen
    to - jcooper
    subject - sample email
    body - testing how to send email with attachment
    attachmentName - SOA.txt
    attachmentMimeType - multipart/mixed
    attachmentURI - file:C:/SOA.txt
    I got the following error while executing the process, can any one please tell me where I am going wrong. Are the values I am passing correct?
    Error
    XPath expression failed to execute.
    Error while processing xpath expression, the expression is "ora:readFile(bpws:getVariableData("inputVariable", "payload", "/client:SendEmailWithAttachmentProcessRequest/client:attachmentURI"))", the reason is C:\SOA.txt (The system cannot find the file specified).
    Please verify the xpath query.
    What could be the problem with the xpath query.

    Thanks for your suggestions, but it still does not work.
    The following is the error I get when I enter
    file:///c:/SOA.txt as my attachmentURI.
    XPath expression failed to execute.
    Error while processing xpath expression, the expression is "ora:readFile(bpws:getVariableData("inputVariable", "payload", "/client:SendEmailWithAttachmentProcessRequest/client:attachmentURI"))", the reason is c:\SOA.txt (The system cannot find the file specified).
    Please verify the xpath query.
    I followd the same steps as given in the tutorial 'SendEmailWithAttachment' available under the folder <BPEL_HOME>\integration\orabpel\samples\tutorials\SendEmailWithAttachment.

    I made a mapping between my input schema and destination schema through custom xslt.

    Why this is occuring ?
    While I am not using any custom xslt, it is working fine.

  • XPath Error in Receiver Determination

    Hi All,
    I hav an outbound message coming out of ERP (Non IDoc). I have to route the message based on the field DESTINATION in the message. The payload in the SXMB_MONI is as follows.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
    <nr1:OLabelling_OB xmlns:nr1="http://cpe.com/cpe_ftp_wms/Labelling/OL">
    <Label>

      <PRPRORD>0001005683</PRPRORD>
    </Label>
    </nr1:OLabelling_OB>
    In the receiver determination, I hav chosen the XPath button and given the following value
    <b>/nr1:OLabelling_OB/Label/DESTINATION</b>.
    This doesn't work. i had also tried giving the namespace and the prefix as
    <b>nr1</b> <b>http://cpe.com/cpe_ftp_wms/Labelling/OL</b>. but that dint help either.
    If i remove the condition, then it is working fine.
    Any help in this regard?
    Thnx in Advance.
    Anil

    I had activated and checked......it was not getting displayed.......
    But i checked the xpath rules and used a work around solution for this. as per the xpath rules if i enter xpath as //DESTINATION, it picks up the DESTINATION field from anywhere in the document. and that worked.
    Thnx for ur help so far...

    Regards,

    It worked when I used this
    dvm:lookupValue('EnterpriseAppSecurityLevels.dvm','SecurityLevel','1','EnterpriseAppQueueName','Default')
    instead of this
    dvm:lookupValue('S:/JDeveloper/mywork/GPRDSecurityLevelDataRouterApp/GPRDSecurityLevelDataRouter/EnterpriseAppSecurityLevels.dvm','SecurityLevel','1','EnterpriseAppQueueName','')
