XQuery Engine API for enabling trace

Hi,
Is there any way to enable trace while executing the xquery file inside osb or is there any way to get the api details or the implementation details of the xquery engine used in osb. Please guide me in this regard.

JavaMail API for enabling email notification

Hi
I want to use JavaMail API for enabling email notification for an application. I have downloaded the javamail_1.4 zip file, unzipped it and set the CLASSPATH environment variable. JAVA_HOME isalso set. the activation.jar file from JAF is also in place. but, when i try to compile the sample programs (included with javamail) like smtpsend.java,msgsend.java, I get a screenful of errors all referring to "cannot find symbol", the main error being
"package javax.mail does not exist". I guess, Java is not able to locate the package.
Please suggest what can be done .Any tips for configuring email notification are more than welcome!

Are you compiling using the "javac" command,
or are you using an IDE like Eclipse or NetBeans?
In the latter case, you have to tell the IDE to
add the jar files to your project.

Enable Trace for the Session Loggied in..

How to enable trace for the session logged in with out db bounce.
after enable how to stop and how to get the trace file in readable format.

Trace a session.
1)Logout all sessions from the database
2)Login to application (ensure that only one session is available)
3)sqlplus trace/trace
Schema which has privilege to trace the session
4)check the sid and serial# of the session from v$session
Use the following query
SQL> select username,to_char(logon_time,'DD-MON-YYYY HH:MI:SS') from v$session where username='<db username>' order by logon_time;
SQL>exec sys.dbms_system.set_sql_trace_in_session(sid,serial#,TRUE);
5)now execute the report/transaction.
6)once the activity is over
SQL>exec sys.dbms_system.set_sql_trace_in_session(sid,serial,FALSE);
7)Now the trace file will be available in the udump folder of the database ip
Userid/password: trace/trace
The trace wil be available in /oracle/admin/orcl/udump
8)To find the name of the trace file use the below query
select spid from v$process where addr=(select paddr from v$session where sid=<enter the SID>);
This will give the name of the file
If you are not able to identify the trace file then please remove all files in udump before starting trace.
9) ftp the trace fil to ur local pc and issue the tkprof command
TKPROF <trace file (like D:\orcl_8853.trc)> D:\trace.txt explain=Oracle username/password (application user) sort=(prsela,exeela,fchela)
This will give trace file in readable format(you need to have 10g client on your pc for tkprof to work)

Enable trace for particular concurrent program

Hi Experts,
I want to enable trace for the program called "Print Invoice Notice". I tick the enable trace box in Concurrent->Define-> navigation.
But i didn't get any trace under USER_DUMP_DEST destination.

Crystal Report Print Engine API calls from Powerbuilder

I am using Crystal Report XI R2 with Powerbuilder 9.0. I am using Crystal Report API calls using crpe32.dll to display my reports. When i run my reports from my development machine where Crystal Reports is installed the reports run properly, but when i deploy my application on a server where Crystal Reports is not installed the report gives me error "Report has not been opened" , Error 599.
The database logon info is properly set in the RPT file.
I want to know whether it is possible to run reports without installing Crystal Reports and how do you do it?

Somehow, you will have to install the CR runtime...
Probably the best way will be to create a deployment project using a utility such as InstallShield, Wise, MS Visual Installer, etc. Use the RDC merge modules and add the crpe32.dll to the deployment project, ensuring the crpe32.dll is installed into the ...\3.5\bin directory. How to reduce number of output parameters in case of determination engine API

Hi
We are using determination engine API to integrate with the third party (OBRM) . In that case all the base/top/intermediate attributes have been sent in xml as output.
Is there any way to filter out the output parameters as I don't want to send all attributes in output XML.

There are the following possible copies of an object that can be made in TopLink.
- Session cache - copy of object stored in the Session cache, this instance is considered read-only and can be shared. In the case of a shared cache, this copy exists in the ServerSession cache, in the case of an isolated cache, this copy exists in the ClientSession cache.
This copy can be created whenever a query is executed against a ClientSession, or non-isolated UnitOfWork. To avoid this copy for an update operation, you can query in a UnitOfWork, and set your descriptor's unitOfWorkCacheIsolationLevel to ISOLATE_CACHE_ALWAYS (added in 10.1.3).
This copy can be created after a inserted object is committed as well. ISOLATE_CACHE_ALWAYS will also avoid this.
- UnitOfWork working copy. Instance of the object that is modified in the UnitOfWork. This instance must exist as at least one instance is required, unless UpdateAll / DeleteAll / SQL queries are used.
- UnitOfWork backup copy. This copy is used to track changes to the object. This copy can be avoided if attribute change tracking is used (added in 10.1.3, weaving added in 11g).
So, it is possible to only have a single copy.
You can also use a DatabaseSession which only maintains a single copy. You can use Insert and UpdateObjectQuery's, these will update everything and not give you the benefit of change tracking nor a shared cache, but may be useful in batch transactions such as yours.

Java API for running entire ".sql" files on a remote DB ( mySQL or Oracle)?

Would anyone happen to know if there's a java API for executing entire ".sql" files (containing several different SQL commands), on a remote database server ?
It's enough if the API works with MySQL and/or Oracle.
Just to demonstrate what i'm looking for:

I need urgent help in business catalyst SOAP api for [Product_UpdateInsert] operation.

Hi Everyone, I am new in Business Catalyst, but, my company is working with BC for a while. I have a task to import external data (such as catalogue, products, orders, shopping cart etc) to business catalyst native tables via SOAP api. I am able to use "Product_ListRetrieve" function that gave me products from BC. Now I want to insert and update product list, for which the api call is "Product_UpdateInsert". I am not being able to feed in even a single record. I need any code (jquery, php, javascript, java etc) as a sample, that works with SOAP api for this function. It is very urgent. Please help me. Hi BCMan, Thanks for replying. Yes, the error is from BC side. The format was invalid. I fixed the issue today. Actually, I was pushing data from my PHP server to BC host system using SOAP api. I am still getting format errors, but I am able to insert data into products table.
One more question if you don't mind. Is it possible to use JQuery/Javascript to push data into BC tables in real time (while browsing products table) using customized pages? There are documents to solve this. However, I could not find examples of how I could fetch data from JSON file using JQuery and then populate products/catalog/order tables.

System Configuation API for Configuration Management

Hi all,
I've been toying around with the system configuration API for a little bit now and I see it as a great way for companies to use it as part of an overall configuration management utility. For example, if a customer wants to build up a new test rack with the same hardware aliases, configuration, and installed NI software then the system configuration API helps with most of this. I've already created a simple utility that can be used to query the currently installed hardware (of a local or remote system) and then programmatically rename the aliases based on a loaded configuration file or manual input. Likewise, the MAX export/import functionality can also be used. My application of this would primarily be non-RT and mostly PXI products but a good design could enable it to work for both.
So, my question to the community is actually on the side where I haven't used the System Configuration API yet which is querying the installed software on a system. The software querying functionality of the System Configuration API is really only geared towards RT targets and not Windows based controllers. I'd like to be able to export a list of installed software/drivers on an older system and then compare it with what is installed on a newer system to make it easier for customers to determine whether they have everything required. I know that the MAX export or report has a list of installed software but is parsing this the best way of retrieving installed software (It's a beast of a file)? Does anyone have a better method?

Not sure if the attached VI will work across various Windows OS's since it uses a powershell command and I also don't know how well the command used will work across 32/64 bit applications...But, so far this little VI I came up with is returning the software that I want to query. Hope this is usefull for others and, as always, suggestions for improvement are welcomed!

Enableing trace through dbms_system package.

OS : HPUX.
I am trying to enable trace through dbms_system package for a perticular session. I am still to figure it out, how can I find this perticular trace file. After enabling a trace, I did cd'd to updump directory and found, there w're no file generated.Anyone have any idea, how to go about this.

Adobe needs to develop an api for communicating with HTML Overlays & Indesign Objects

I'm a front-end developer who has been assigned the task of developing one of our client's DPS every month. While I praise Adobe for saving a dying a industry and giving non-developers simple GUI controls, they need to develop an api for communicating from HTML Overlays to Indesign MSOs and other objects.
I've had to do some intense animations/pages; which I in turn simply developed all in HTML5 and did an overlay. The time put into those pages could have been greatly reduced if their was a proper API in place to trigger different MSO and events. Is anybody at Adobe working on this? As DPS matures, and more developers are tasked with making folios it's imperative we have a proper way way to develop.

We had a page for embedded movies in a lightbox; the client said customers were complaining that the folios were too large and took too long to download. So we switched to youtube streaming page, but they wanted a poster and autoplay enabled. If you have ever programmed with mobile video, you'll know devices are extremely difficult to manipulate.
I had to do an html overlay with a bunch of transparent divs for hotspots and buttons. If I could have told Indesign to move different objects layer orders or go to a different MSO it would have saved me hours.
Doesn't DPS support localstorage? Couldn't you guys whip up a little api to trigger events via localstorage?
Off topic, another request:
- enable the safari webkit inspector for debugging connected ipads with folios that have html overlays; you guys don't fully support HTML5 or certain js events and it's extremely annoying and difficult to debug.

ActiveX API vs Engine API

Hello,
I want to develop an Operator Interface with C#, but I do not know whether I should use the TestStand ActiveX API or TestStand Engine API. From my view, the TestStand ActiveX API is more sampler than the Engine API, but the Engine API is more flexible and powerful.
Actually, we do not know what it is the different between the ActiveX API and Engine API, could you please to tell me in which case I should use the ActiveX API and in which case I should use Engine API?
What is the advantage and disadvantage of ActiveX API and Engine API separately?

My question is that I want to know the difference between the UI Controls API (Smart Pointer) and the ActivieX API (Pure API)?
The UI Controls API means the API defined in TestStand help document "TestStandUIControlsReferencePoster.pdf", and ActivieX API means the API defined in document "TestStandAPIReferencePoster.pdf".
And I do not know when I should use the UI Controls API and when I should use the ActiveX API?
It seems that the ActiveX API has more powerful to control/access TestStand than the UI Controls API, is that right?

Using User Management Engine API in Portal Application

I actually develope a simple Portal Application, which print any User-Infos. Especially I need the date of the last Login. For this purpose I read the Article Using User Management Engine API - Portal - SAP Library where they use the library com.sap.security.api. In the articel they describe also, how to set DC dependencies. But this doesn't function for a Portal Component, because they do not appear in the Component Browser.
So my question is, how get I the User Management Engine API referenced in my Portal Application, so that I can use the package com.sap.security.api. In the filesystem I can not find a JAR-File for the Development Componenten tc/je/usermanagement/api

Getting the last logon date can be a small problem. There is a method called: getLastSuccessfulLogonDate, but that one is deprecated since NW 2004s.

In NW 7.3 the method is still there: Generated Documentation (Untitled), but even so, JavaDoc states that the value is not updated automatically
"get last sucessful logon date NOTE: This attribute is not automatically updated during login."
