Xslt in jdev

Hi,
I read an old thread about this : Integrated XSLT in 10g , but I think it is unhandy to rename an xml file just because the extension doesn't fit. It would be really neat if I could choose an xml file, select xlst transformation from the menu, pick the xsl file to get the results in a preview window, just like in some xml editors. Any plans to do that?
Bye,
Jan

I wrote a small extension, nothing spectacular but just what I wanted. I was surprised it's that easy to make one :)

  • FIXED: BUG in Oracle XSLT processor

    Edit: I fixed it by just importing all of the Jdev libraries. My bad for being a dolt.
    I am trying to detect certain values in an XML document that start with $ (the dollar sign) character. This has some conflicts with the syntax for XSL variables. The following code gives an exception when running in the Oracle XSLT...
    <xsl:template name="interpretToken">
    <xsl:param name="token" />
    <xsl:choose>
    <xsl:when test="starts-with($token, '$')" >
    <a><xsl:attribute name="href">
    <xsl:value-of select='replace($token, "\$", "#")' />
    </xsl:attribute>
    <xsl:value-of select='replace($token, "\$", "")' />
    </a>
    </xsl:when>
    </xsl:choose>
    </xsl:template>
    (note that this isn't the best way to write the above code, but replace suffices)
    When I run this in the XSLT of JDev 10.1.3.2, the following stack trace is given:

    No line number in my XSLT is written, but I have isolated it to the above code in the XSL file. This is some bug in the Oracle implementation, because when I run it against Saxon9, it produces output without complaint. Please help me with a work around for detecting the dollar sign and removing it for the output or can I find an oracle xslt patched package.
    Thanks a lot. - astewart / [email protected]

  • Xslt copy-of creates a xml which returns empty while trying to access elements using XPATH

    Hi
    I am trying to do a copy-of function using the XSLT in jdev. This is what I do
        <xsl:param name="appdataDO"/>
        <xsl:template match="/">
        <ns1:applicationData>
          <ns1:applicationId>
            <xsl:value-of select="$appdataDO/ns1:applicationData/ns1:applicationId"/>
          </ns1:applicationId>
          <xsl:copy-of select="/fslo:ExternalapplicationData/fslo:ApplicationsHDRAddInfo">
          </xsl:copy-of>
        </ns1:applicationData>
        </xsl:template>
        </xsl:stylesheet>
    After this I can see the document created in the process flow as this :
        <ns1:applicationData>
        <ns1:applicationId>MMMM</ns1:applicationId>
        <ns2:ApplicationsHDRAddInfo>
        <ns3:genericFromBasePrimitive>iuoui</ns3:genericFromBasePrimitive>
        <ns4:EstimatedMarketValue>77</ns4:EstimatedMarketValue>

        <ns4:LoanPaidInCashFlag>cddffgd</ns4:LoanPaidInCashFlag>
        </ns2:ApplicationsHDRAddInfo>
        </ns1:applicationData>
    But whenever I am trying to extract any of the output nodes I am getting an empty result. I can copy the whole dataset into similar kind of variable.
    But I am unable to get individual elements using XPATH.
    I tried using exslt function for node set and xslt 2.0 without avail.
    The namespaces might be the culprit here . The test method in the jdev is able to output a result but at runtime the xpath returns empty .
    I have created another transform where I try to copy data from the precious dataobject to a simple string in another data object .
    This is the test sample source xml for the transform created by jdev while testing with all namespaces, where I try to copy the data in a simple string in another data object.

  • XSLT not working correctly in BPEL

    Hi,
    We are using XSLT to remove namespaces from our XSL. When testing this XSL in Jdeveloper, it works fine. But when we using it in BPEL, the transformation is not working correctly.
    Please find below the XSL content
    +<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"+

    Not sure why the transformation isnt working in BPEL. Has anyone faced similar issues? Please share your experiences.
    Thanks
    John

    Hi John ,
    We have tried this instead of writing new code in the xslt , pls do the following
    1.Open the xslt in jdev.
    2.Remove the attribute exclude-result-prefixes for the element xsl:stylesheet.
    3.Your new XSLT file should look like below,
    <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
    xmlns:xref="http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java/oracle.tip.xref.xpath.XRefXPathFunctions"
    xmlns:xp20="http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java/oracle.tip.pc.services.functions.Xpath20"
    xmlns:bpws="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2003/03/business-process/"
    xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"
    +xmlns:ora="http://schemas.oracle.com/xpath/extension" xmlns:ehdr="http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java/oracle.tip.esb.server.headers.ESBHeaderFunctions"
    xmlns:orcl="http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java/oracle.tip.pc.services.functions.ExtFunc"
    xmlns:ids="http://xmlns.oracle.com/bpel/services/IdentityService/xpath"
    xmlns:hwf="http://xmlns.oracle.com/bpel/workflow/xpath"
    >
    ....business logic...
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    4.Compile and deploy your BPEL Process.
    5.You should not see any namespaces in the BPEL Console now for this xslt.
    Thank you.
    Regards
    Venkat.

  • [Solved] How to create multiple target nodes from single input node (XSL)

    Hello all,
    I have identified what I think is a bug in the visual XSLT mapper (JDev 10.1.3.3). Here is the simplified scenario:
    I have a source XML file that contains a bill-to address and a ship-to address, something like this:
    <header>
    <bill-to-name>My Customer Bill To</bill-to-name>
    <bill-to-address>123 main street</bill-to-address>
    <ship-to-name>My Customer Ship To</ship-to-name>
    <ship-to-address>567 first avenue</ship-to-address>
    </header>I want to translate it to a target XML file that looks like this:
    <addresses>
    <address>
    <address-type>BILLTO</address-type>
    <name>My Customer Bill To</name>
    <street-address>123 main street</street-address>
    </address>
    <address>
    <address-type>SHIPTO</address-type>
    <name>My Customer Ship To</name>
    <street-address>567 first avenue</street-address>
    </address>
    </addresses>Note that what I am trying to do is to create two nodes in the target (something like a for-each), but where there is no repeating node in the source.
    I was able to do this quite simply with a map like this:
    <xsl:template match="/">
      <ns2:addresses>
        </ns2:address>
          <ns2:address-type>
            <xsl:text disable-output-escaping="no">BILLTO</xsl:text>
          </ns2:address-type>
          <ns2:name>
            <xsl:value-of select="/ns1:header/bill_to_name"/>
          </ns2:name>
          <ns2:street-address>
            <xsl:value-of select="/ns1:header/bill_to_address"/>
          </ns2:name>
        </ns2:address>
        </ns2:address>
          <ns2:address-type>
            <xsl:text disable-output-escaping="no">SHIPTO</xsl:text>
          </ns2:address-type>
          <ns2:name>
            <xsl:value-of select="/ns1:header/ship_to_name"/>
          </ns2:name>
          <ns2:street-address>
            <xsl:value-of select="/ns1:header/ship_to_address"/>
          </ns2:name>
        </ns2:address>
      </ns2:addresses>
    </xsl:template>As long as I only use the source view for the xsl file, this works fine and tests just fine. As soon as I switch over to the graphical (design view), the source gets mangled to:
    <xsl:template match="/">
      <ns2:addresses>
        </ns2:address>
          <ns2:address-type>
            <xsl:text disable-output-escaping="no">BILLTOSHIPTO</xsl:text>
          </ns2:address-type>
          <ns2:name>
            <xsl:value-of select="/ns1:header/bill_to_name"/>
            <xsl:value-of select="/ns1:header/ship_to_name"/>
          </ns2:name>
          <ns2:street-address>
            <xsl:value-of select="/ns1:header/bill_to_address"/>
            <xsl:value-of select="/ns1:header/ship_to_address"/>
          </ns2:name>
        </ns2:address>
      </ns2:addresses>
    </xsl:template>which obviously does not work.
    So:
    1). Should my original map work? If not, what is the correct way to do it?
    2). If the map should work (it does), this looks like a bug in the design view.
    3). If my map should work, is there a way to do this in the design view?
    Kind regards,
    John

    John,
    GUI has limited functionality and hence it does not support all the constructs. If you want to implement soln that is visible in gui follow this steps.
    for-each(bill-to-name)
         create <address>tag
         map concat(BILLTO) to <address-type>
         map value of <bill-to-name> to <name>
         map value of <bill-to-address> to <street-address>
    select the for-each you created - right click -> add xsl node ->clone for-each
         repeat similar steps for mapping <ship-to_name>...etc
    If you still unsure send me the source & target xsd and I will send the xsl your way. You can email me at [email protected]

  • XSLT 2.0 (works in jdev, but not on server) Reasons?

    I created a xslt script to get a date difference. following blogs online - i modified the xsl:stylesheet to 2.0.                       WHen its tested in Jdev with   2002-11-26T09:50:39  2013-10-26T09:50:39 returns   P3987D when I deploy it to the SOA/BPM server, it throws xpath error. (saying to check sources) Can someone suggest a solution? Does something need to be enabled on the server? Thanks, Ashok

    Hi Frank,
    Thanks for the response. I've consulted with our server guy and he says that there are no read/write privileges. Jdev is not on the server.
    I'm really stumped by this so if you have any ideas, I'd really appreciate it.
    Happr New Year to you,
    Newbe.

  • Loosing xslt with variable when save in Jdev

    I am using JDeveloper 10.3.3.0.4157. BPEL is deployed on SOA 10.1.3.3.
    As part of a BPEL process I have an xslt transform to populate my outgoing message with a generated guid.
    <xsl:variable name="messageIDVariable" select="orcl:generate-guid()"/>
    <corecom:EBMID>
    <xsl:value-of select="$messageIDVariable"/>
    </corecom:EBMID>
    If I change any part of the transform (like adding new mappings etc), then I save it. I get this error:
    (1):xpath-expression: Error: Variable or parameter "messageIDVariable" is not available for use
    Subsequently the xsl file is saved with my code referring to the variable removed.
    I have deployed this bpel process (with my variable code in it) and it executes successfully filling my output message with the generated guid. So why is Jdev unhappy with it? Is my XSLT incorrect? (I'm new to this stuff so that is very possible). What does "not available for use" mean? It is declared the line above where it is used.
    Go easy on me...like I said I'm new to this stuff.
    Thanks for any insight.

    thanx this is the solution. With this construct
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:java="http://xml.apache.org/xalan/java" exclude-result-prefixes="java">
         <xsl:output method="html" indent="yes" encoding="iso-8859-1"/>
         <xsl:template match="/">
         <xsl:variable name="counter" select="java:java.util.Vector.new()"/>
         <xsl:variable name="temp1" select="java:add($counter,'1')"/>
         <xsl:variable name="temp2" select="java:add($counter,'2')"/>
         <xsl:variable name="temp3" select="java:add($counter,'3')"/>
         <xsl:variable name="temp4" select="$temp3"/>
         <xsl:value-of select="java:size($counter)"/>
         <xsl:value-of select="java:toString($counter)"/>
         </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    at least the '3' is added to the vector.

  • How to do closing tag: tag /tag instead of tag/ in jdev xslt mapper

    Hi!
    We have commercial systems, which cannot work with short closing tags for empty nodes.
    Xslt mapper for oracle mediator optimize everytime to short closing tag, when node content is empty.
    Is there a property or technique to achieve long closing tags?
    Kind regards

    not really a pretty solution, but you could try adding the comments

  • Does SOA BPEL 11.1.7.0 support XPath 2.0 in XSLT mapping?

    Dear Oracle support,
    I am using SOA Suite 11.1.1.7.0 (local development) and 11.1.1.6.0 (in production, but will upgrade to 7). I came to the requirements need to do very complicated mapping using XSLT in BPEL. I would like to use some features of XPath 2.0.
    Does SOA 11.1.1.6.0 or 11.1.1.7.0 have supported XPath 2.0? If not yet, is there any plan to support in the future?
    Thank you in advance for your response,

    Firstly, this is not Oracle support, this is Oracle forums...

    SOA supports *some* features of XPath 2.0 in XSLT, the infrastructure also supports XSLT 2.0, but JDEV mapper does not...
    Check docs here...

  • Dynamic xslt in soa suite 11g

    Hi all,
    How can we run xslt dynamically in soa suite 11g . I have a requirement to get the xslt file name from the DB based on the input request ID .
    Then apply that xslt dynamically in the input request . Whenever we identified any new input request just create the xslt and just copy in a location update the DB
    with that ID . No development effort new XSLT.
    IS this is possible in 11g i know this is possible in 10g can anyone let me know how to achieve this in 11g.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    I have placed my transformations in shared folder inside MDS & pass the transformation file to the Oracle SOA transformation function as oramds:/apps/<transformation file name>, i.e in my case I have put the transformation_example.xsl in /apps/testing folder, so I passed oramds:/apps/testing/transformation_example.xsl. I don't deploy shared transformation with composite but put it in shared location.
    Your case should also work, look like to me the path issue, jdev ide by default creates all transformation file inside xsl folder, but in the path does not have xsl folder. Check the MDS repository & verify oramds:/deployed-composites/default/DB_Event_rev1.8/Transformation_2.xsl is right.

  • XSLT Auto-mapping in 10g

    Hi All,
    I am working on XSLT in 10g(10.1.3.4), Also I would like to use auto-map option available in Jdev.
    currently mapping is done as below,
    <ProductName>
    <xsl:value-of select="ProductName"/>
    </ProductName>
    But I would need each node encapsulated with xsl:if, so that epmty node will not present in output doc.
    ExampleWith xsl:If
    <xsl:if test="ProductName">
    <ProductName>
    <xsl:value-of select="ProductName"/>
    </ProductName>
    </xsl:if>
    is this auto option is available in 10g?
    Please help me to achieve this in 10 g XSLT.
    thanks,
    Santosh

    I think there is a misunderstanding as to what a persistence layer is and does... To update your application with new state, you need to first update your object model (has nothing to do with TopLink), then your application (again, nothing to do with TopLink), and then your mappings and persistence layer code (has to do with TopLink). There is no magic here.
    Auto-mapping is a feature in the Mapping Workbench to do much of the tedious O-R mapping automatically. It does not automatically keep your application up to date with schema chages.

  • Is there a way to find Jdev version from command line.

    Hi All,
    Good Day. We have an application that launches jdeveloper xslt mapper. We set up classpaths and launch it. However we need to support all versions of jdev - 10.1.2, 10.1.3, 10.1.4. Is there a way to determine the jdev version I am using at runtime and set appropriate class path and launch. For now we let the user to decide. We are desperate to auto detect the version...Help plz

  • Custom XSLT Functions Throw Exception

    Hi,
    I have following requirement-
    1. I have defined and configured some custom XSLT functions in Jdev and BPEL, which throw exception in case of an error.
    2. Now I want to catch that exception in my BPEL process
    3. In My BPEL process I have defined transformation step ( which is using those Custom XSLT functions) in a scope and added a catch branch to that
    4. But even XSLT java function throw an exception , it is not being catch by catch branch.
    Could you please help me regarding this and tell me any other way to catch an exception in BPEL process thrown by Custom XSLT function within transformation step?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Its the problem with the date. In the configuration file i used dateTime for java.util.Date, because of this i cant see "User Defined" option in Jdeveloper component pallete. I checked at XML data types i had seen dateTime for java.util.Date Class, but its not working.
    Do anyone created a custom xslt function which has date as parameter or return type?, If so wht they had used as data type for xml and java.
    Thanks,
    RR

  • 856 xslt Mapping question ...

    I was asked in the jdev forum to post this here as well :)
    Ramesh,
    I hate to keep bugging everyone but i have another question.
    I am trying to transform data into an X-12 856 document (outbound). I have most of the looping and everything working. My only issue is how do you handle the parent child relationships in the HL01/02 ? Since xpath does not let you increment a variable how can you keep the count of the HL loops let alone tell the HL02 (parent's HL01) We are using a SOPI scenario and the items need to be subordinate to the appopriate pack level.
    I really appreciate all the time and awnsers you have given me so far :)
    Thank you in advance,
    Jaden

    Hi,
    There is a way to handle x=x+1 in XSLT....here it is..assume u want to sum all the elements of an arraylist in an XML...create a temporary variable(TransCountSumVar) and do a foreach and group them in one more variable (Transactions_Count2)
    <xsl:variable name="TransCountSumVar">
                  <xsl:for-each select="/ns1:TotalDate/ns1:price">
                                   <Transactions_Count2>
                      <xsl:value-of select="number(ns1:price)"/>
                                  </Transactions_Count2>
                  </xsl:for-each>
    </xsl:variable>now get the sum of those in Transactions_Count2 as follows
    <xsl:variable name="TComp" select="sum(exsl:node-set($TransCountSumVar)/Transactions_Count2)"/>where Tcomp is another variable with holds the final sum and be sure to the the namespace xmlns:exsl="http://exslt.org/common" in XSL at name space declarations.

  • Integrated XSLT in 10g

    Will JDeveloper 10g support XSLT within the IDE?
    This seems to be a simple integration, and would be very useful.
    Thanks,
    Benjamin

    We already support schema-driven XSLT stylesheet editing.
    JDev 10g is enabled to support XSLT stylesheet debugging as well, but it requires a special version of the XSLT processor from the XDK for Java team to enable this. (I'm checking to see if the current 10.1.0.1A XSLT processor is already a good enough build to make it work)
    You can use our built-in XSQL pages integration to easily transform XML content (either static or dynamic from a database) using XSLT stylesheets.
    What other kinds of XSLT features would you find valuable?
