XSLT in SharePoint

Hi Techies,
I was modifying SharePoint 2010 Blog Posts look and feel with the help of blog.xsl which is located under
LAYOUTS. I was able to fetch data from default columns of POST list of Blog template site. But I got stuck when i was trying to fetch data from custom column which was added by me.
Anybody have any idea or let me know where i am going wrong.

If u want to access column directly,then open the blog.xsl file which is located in layouts folder.
and paste the below line
<xsl:value-of select="@Body" disable-output-escaping="yes"/>
Here @body is the name of ur new column.
If u are using CQWP,in that case add the new column in CQWP properties like

No XSLT in SharePoint 2013-what About CQWP?

In SP 2010, we have 2 XSLT templates added to the ItemStyle.xls file which are used extensively with our Content Query Web parts. As I understand it, XSLT is going away in favor of something called Display Templates.
We will be converting to SP 2013 later this year, so what I need to know is how extensive is the work to get from the ItemStyle templates to Display Templates with the CQ Web part?

CQWP still available in 2013, uses XSLT still for design. Display Templates (or javascript templates) are being used by the new Content Search web part (CSWP) which is used to retrieve indexed search results.

How to add connection between two Web Part Data Views in sharepoint designer 2013

Hi I have problems with connect two data view
I have a SQL server database named Mini
In Mini database I have two tables: dbo.Table_A and dbo.Table_B
Table_A design and Table_B design
In the internet browser it look like this after I add the connections, the problem is there is no connection when I click at the Blue link id 2 and 3 ??? John's and Jes's Lastname did not show up, the links is dead. that's my problem
The must strange is that, if I do the same below, in sharepoint 2010 designer it do well ?? so what in the .....

Yes I use sharepoint designer 2013, when I do the same in sharepoint designer 2010, it do well
No to your question 2, 3 and 4
See again my picture below her, when I open the internet browser
in the database you have a table with forename and another table with last name,
the link between this two table is the id, when I open it is ok, Bens lastname is
James, Ben James.
So when I try to click on the blue id number 2 beside John, Johns Last name
should show up, but it did not, the link is dead. that's my problem the funny about this when I
do the same procedure see above in sharepoint designer 2010, it do well ?
Here is my first steps, when you have uploaded the first datasource, you need to save, place your courser
behind the <asp:ScriptManager runat="server" id="ScriptManager"></asp:ScriptManager> x PLACE COURSER HER
THEN you can upload the next datasource, the sharepoint designer automatic generate the code for the grid.
When you have the two grids inside the aspx file, place your courser behind the first

then the tab "option" show up and inside here you can add the connections between the two grids.

Sharepoint online multiline list colomn not rendering HTML out put

Hi
I have list with multi line column with having multimedia options. my problem is i have created view and edited XSL to format it. also i have added "escape out put =yes" for the column but no luck still column is rendering as HTML Tags witch
is not rendering HTML formats in UI

Sharepoint designer error

Hello guys,
Scenario
I am using data view control drop down to display data in drop down from a column in sql server and then mapping it to sharepoint list column so that when user goes to create new item he gets the drop down in the form which is getting value from the sql server column...
problem
Whenever i click on data fields of drop down to change the data bindings and give the list column as the data field to save value to i get an error :
Sharepoint designer cannot render XSLT in this data view .
Failed setting processor stylesheet :0x80004005: a reference to variable or parameter 'Pos' cannot be resolved.The variable or parameter may not be defined,or it may not be in scope
Does anybody know what problem is it...let me know if i need to give some more details.

Hide column header in a SharePoint list web part view ?

Hi ALl,
I have a links list in SharePoint 2010 and created a custom standard view to show links on home page.
I want to hide header column for that particular created list web part view.I have used following css but it's hide all list
and libraries header column.
.ms-viewheadertr
display: none;
I want to hide specific list web part view column hide.
Following is a snap in this i want to hide URL column in this view.

You can add the following to an .xsl file and link to it in the "Miscellaneous" options when you edit the web part. By doing it this way, you can reuse the same style sheet over and over.
This xsl basically overrides a couple of templates located in the "vwstyles.xsl" file, and removes the lines that add the header.
(This code works in production, but I may not have replicated it properly in this forum, so please test first.)

Using xsl stylesheet with List View Web Part to display custom text

Hi
i have an xsl stylesheet with sharepoint listview webpart. The list view shows some items based on a filter. I want to display custom text such as "No Items" when there are zero items in the list view using the xsl stylesheet. How do i achieve
this. I have spent hours searching but couldnt find the exact answer. Please help me out. I am a light user not a hard core developer so I dont use Visual Studio. Thanks in advance

I have customised the list view webpart using a custom xsl file by including it in the xsl link of the list view webpart. So i think i need to include the condition in the xsl file itself else it wont work. Since the list view webpart isnt using the default
xsl. Please let me kknow if you have any idea about including a condition in xsl to check if there are not items in view.

Custom edit form for my Wiki Page library with only "Page Name" field included

I want to create a new custom edit form for my Wiki page library, and to only allow users to edit the Page name inside the edit form. now i created a new Edit form using SharePoint Designer , and i select the Enterprisewiki content type for it , which generates

so from the above markup the name field is not part of the edit form,, i think this is because the Name is part of the Document content type and not part of the enterprisewiki content type .. so is there a way to add the name field to the edit
form ?.
second question, the edit form will show all the content type fields such as ; standard, document type, department , title (display in search), etc so what is the best way to remove these fields from the custom edit form ?

This can only be done by adding VBScript to the form. It would basically be:

... where "P.2" would be what you named the page you want to display first.

Interactive Rating Stars for XSLTListView Blog Home Page

Hi All, using the OOTB blog site template, I'd like to modify the OOTB List View Web Part (using SharePoint Designer) on the home page of the blog site to also include interactive rating stars next to each entry's title. So far I've been able to get the
stars to show up but I haven't been able to figure out how to make it clickable/interactive. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks!http://www.henryong.com

2. Edit the blog post xslt list view webpart on the home page of blog site and specify the custom xsl path, under Miscellaneous -> XSL Link and click ok.

Custom field html displays as text

I am converting a custom field from a SharePoint 2007 version to SharePoint 2013. The field works correctly in SP2007. In SP2013 it has the correct information but displays as text instead of html. I have set the "disable-output-escaping" in the
xsl to "yes" but it does not help. Here the xml and xsl data for the field.

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that the custom field not render html well.
As you have known, we can use the “disable-output-escaping” to render the html, however, it not works in your environment.
As a workaround, we can use JQuery to render the html, I have made a simple code snippets to achieve this scenario, you can refer to it.

How to limit umber of items in a webpart view?

My scenario goes like this
1. I have created a list
2. Then I created a web part page and added that list on that page
3. Now i would like to limit the number of item visible on that page to a specific number, as this page is my home page and i do not want it to look messe with so many document visible to the user or any scroll visible to prev and next the document.

There are so many ways to achieve this, the best way i would suggest to modify the view and set the item limit in the view, then Edit ListViewWebPart and apply create a xsl file deefine XSL Link property under Miscellaneous. Example(Code) for xsl file is

XsltListViewWebpart pagination issue

Hi,
We are using XsltListView webpart with custom XSL to format dsQueryResponse of a custom List(named "Posts"). That custom list has Attachments. PAgination was default pagination from vwstyles.xsl. Everything works fine on Page Load.i.e., each post
is displaye dwith corresponding attachment. But, when we use bottom pagination to go to next page or to previosu page...same attachment(attachment in the first post of that page) is repeated for each post...But, when we reload the page...attachemtns are fine
again.
Please help us resolve this issue..Why does default pagination behave this way?

Attachment URL as hyperlink

I am creeating a data view in sharepoint designer; its showing multiple items which I intened to style later;
Each item has a PDF file attachment, I'd like the Tile to open this attachment when clicked, is this possible, I;ve seen some examples of getting the attchment URL but nothing that allows you to use it in a link; heres some of the code so you can have an

CustomActions not working with ToolbarType=None

Hi, I created multiple Ribbon Custom Actions for a SharePoint 2013 Document Library. They are placed in the "New" group and everything works fine so far. One of these actions is a custom upload action and I want users to upload documents using
only this action. In the background there also is a EventListener that verifies that.
So that users are not confused I removed the default upload action by overriding it via another CustomAction. Of course I also want to remove the "New Item" link and the Drag&Drop zone. This would be done very easily by simply setting the ToolbarType
of the ListView/WebPart to None, BUT when I do so, the Ribbon renders as default! My custom actions do not appear anymore and the actually overriden actions are back again. This seems like a sick bug to me or is there any logic behind that?
Of course there are other options to hide the ToolBar, i.e. using JSLink, but this would not match my understanding of using JSLink. A custom XSL and overriding the toolbar template would be fine for me as well, but I have bad experiences with that. Even
when using a very simple XSL like the following one, makes the list not look and behave like a default view:

Using this XSL I would expect the list to totally look and behave like a default view, but it doesn't. Under the import section I would like to add the overwrite template for the toolbar. What am I doing wrong here? Is importing the main.xsl the wrong starting
point?

According to your description, when setting the ToolbarType=None to hdie the “new document or drag files here” button, the custom actions in Ribbon disappear, you
want to display your custom actions as well as hide the Toolbar.
As a workaround, I would suggest you apply custom CSS style into the page to hide the Toolbar.
In my environment, the HTML source code of the Toolbar like this:

How to read XSLT list item of a list view web part in SharePoint designer 2010 using jquery

Hi ,
I have a requirement to get data from one list(e.g., A) and display in some other list's(e.g.,B) custom display form(e.g., CustomDispForm.aspx).
Here I am going to do this with the help of Jquery SP Services using GetListItems(). For getting the data I need to pass two parameters from list(B), but the data is like <xsl:value-of select="@testField_"/> .
I have stuck how to pass such variables in Jquery function.
Please let me know how to achieve .

Follow below code to pass variables to jQuery function in xslt. It will better to use parameters.
