XSLT Windows v's Unix issue
Hi
I having a problem processing XSLT on unix at the moment, it works fine on windows but when I try process the same file on Unix I keep getting the same error. I'm wondering does anyone know is there a difference between the two operating systems that maay cause this problem....if so have you any solutions
Most current operating systems have an XSLT processor installed. For example, Windows XP comes with the MSXML3 library, which includes an XSLT processor. Earlier versions may be upgraded and there are many alternatives, see the External Links section.
Seems like JMeter is generating some dodgy XML, but not sure why that wouldn't fail on Windows also
JMeter uses an XSLT file, jmeter-detail-report.xsl to transform the JMeter JTL output into a nicely formatted html table of results.
The version of the file which I run with ant-jmeter (as a task in build.xml) runs well on Windows but fails on Unix with the following exception:
[xslt] Processing /export/home/sfuser/sola/JMeter/JMeterResults.jtl to /export/home/sfuser/sola/JMeter/JMeterResults_detail.html
[xslt] Loading stylesheet /export/home/sfuser/sola/JMeter/jmeter-results-detail-report.xsl

[xslt] : Error! com.sun.org.apache.xml.internal.utils.WrappedRuntimeException: Content is not allowed in prolog.

I tried removing spaces, changed the xml prolog in the xsl file, etc but it still doesnt work.
Could you suggest what I can do to fix the problem?
cheers

Please test the $java_home env variable. Is both the links env points to the same version of jdk?

File(windows)---- xi ---- file(unix)
Hi All,
Our scenario is FILE(windows)-> XI -> FILE(unix).
Our System is configured on J2SE and we have configured a local adapter engine for this.
We have 3 folders at Source End say Source, OK and NOT OK.
Our requirment is to move file to OK if the file transfer is sucess else the file should move to NOT OK.
File Transfer may be failed due to System crash, receiver down etc.
We are trying on BPM but we are not sure about the Filename which is must and should be same at both the ends i.e. Source and Target.
( We have tried FTP XI FTP, with delete and archive mode. In delete mode even though the receiver is down file is getting deleted at Source End and in MONI we can see a sucess message, Archive is not working properly giving Exception "com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 550 Operation not complete" in our Company Server may be a Support pack issue).
We are looking for Ideas to implement this scenario.
Thanks,
NagrajuThis seems to be pretty good scenario...
You are 100% right that simple usage of delete and archive modes shall not meet your criteria.
I cannot give you a solution but an idea in which angle you can think on...
You must handle file acknowledgements and develop a module accordingly and use it to do so.
I shall also try to work on this and let you know if any.
Thanks

We are having issues with Discoverer Portlets not wanting to refresh, sessions hanging etc, my IT manager wanted me to ask the Forum on what platform are you running appserver? Windows or Linux/Unix....We are ready to upgrade to 11G and are thinking about changing the platform we run the appserver on. Thanks so much for your input!!!
Raoul,
To migrate to Linux seems to me the obvious choice then, because:
(1) Migrating to Linux is cheaper than migrating to Windows, since you will need
the Microsoft Advanced Server ($$$)
(2) Less migration headache with moving from UNIX (Solaris, I presume?) to Linux
than to Windows, considering those UNIX system calls
So you'll probably have less costs and less migration work to do when moving to
Linux.

have shown
intresst to to do some research in the possibilities in going from a
verry expencive
unix installation to a "intel blade" Solution.
As i can see it gives them two serious possibilites
1. Convert (rebuild) their apps to a Windows based platform
2. Convert (rebuild) their apps to a Linux based platform.
The apps are in some extent using system calls, and built in PRO#C.
I know theres a Solaris on Intel as well, but i think theres to mutch

on where Sun is heading right now so i have sorted that one out.
What i would like to know is if there are annyone of you out there, that

NagendraHi.
It's possible many solution.
1. Setup Ftp server on Windows and use general scripts.

2. Create general share folder on windows and use smbclient from samba.
3. Create general share folder on windows and mount this folder to Linux.

We have been successfully using Windows Services for Unix on a 2003 domain for passwd and group maps.
I prep'd the domain to allow a 2012 R2 server to be added and then added the IdMU role/feature on this new 2012R2 DC. Now the passwd map is still OK but the group map now shows full usernames rather than short names.
i.e. what DID show with "ypcat group" as ...
"infra-shared::65550:gfer,jhug,shig", now shows as
"infra-shared::65550:Garry Ferguson,Jason Hughes,Steve Higgins"
and so is not usable. I have had to revert to local /etc/group files on all our unix machines!!
Help/comments would be really appreciated!
Garry FergusonHi Gaz Ferg,
SFU 3.5 is used to installed on windows 2003 and windows XP. SFU 3.5 cannot used on Windows 2012, that makes customer cannot user NFS and user name Mapping services on Windows
2012. From windows 2003 R2, NFS is a build-in component in OS, we need to add Roles/Features to use NFS.
1. What is change in 2012R2
IDMU component, which was used to authenticate Linux users has been removed. Now a Windows server cannot play role of NIS Master server.
Passwords cannot sync to the Unix Machines. Maps can not sync between Windows and Unix computers.
2. What has not change in 2012R2
Following methods to authenticate and map a Unix user to Window user are available:-
Active Directory
Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services (AD LDS)
Username Mapping Protocol store (MS-UNMP
Local passwd and group files
Unmapped UNIX Username Access (UUUA) (applies to Server for NFS using AUTH_SYS only)

Importing from Windows - Exporting to Unix
Hello Guys,
I have this situation where the initial developement was done on a Windows box, but then the staging and production environments have been set up on unix servers.
Q1: Is it possible to migrate the mappings created on Dev (windows) effectively to unix without needing re-work?
Q2: What is the approach to go about this migration, if any?
Q3: Do the OWB versions matter while import/export?
Has anyone been through this problem before?
Any help will be appreciated... Just give me your piece of mind on this...!!Hi ,
You can do the following to export OWB metadata into mdl file .
1. Login to OWB Client
2. Goto Design
3. Export
4. Warehouse Builder Metadata
You can specify the file location details .
In order to Import OWB metadata from mdl file
1. Login to OWB Client
2. Goto Design
3. Import
4. Warehouse Builder Metadata
It will ask for the mdl file location details
Thanks,

Playing to DMP100 in Windows 7 - firewall setting issue?
Hi,
I set up my DMP100 today and installed the Cisco media client and media server on my Windows 7 box - I can play to the DMP 100 just fine using that approach. But I really want to use my Windows Media Player instead and use the "Play To" feature. However when I try to do that I get an error that the media server cannot be contacted. I messed around a long time and finally figured out that turning off my Windows Firewall makes this issue go away - the "Play To" in Windows Media Player works. However I don't want to leave my firewall turned off and I can't find anything that tells me what program/port/protocol I need to create a new firewall rule for so I can turn it back on. Does anyone have any ideas about what I should do hear? It looks like the DMP is trying to call the Windows Media Server and failing to punch through the firewall. At least that's my best guess.
Thanks,
AlexHi!

Oracle iLearning 5.0 on Windows and email notifications issue
Hi!
We are upgrading from iLearning 4.3 to iLearning 5.0 on Windows 2000 server and I have a question related to that.
iLearning 5.0 is certified for Windows.
The accompanying release.txt states that:
--'Email', 'Email and Web' notifications options for Learner Rating and Authorized Enrollment/Unenrollment are not available on Windows platforms. Only web-based notifications should be used.
Through a Technical Assistance request (TAR Number 4439000.992 ) I've found that this problem is due to the use of Workflow 2.6.2 stand-alone which requires sendmail, which is not available on Windows.
This worries me because I want the system to be able to:
* notify admin when authorization is needed for enrollment
* notify course participants about changes or a cancelled course.
* Certification reminder and expiration
* Assessment submission
* Notification to all learners currently enrolled in an offering
The suggested workaround from Metalink is to use a Unix/linux server.
Metalink suggestion:
"you can set up a notification mailer on UNIX to work with stand-alone Workflow
hosted on Windows. The following MetaLink article is a step-by-step guide on how
to do this: Note:254973.1 How To Configure UNIX Sendmail To Work With Oracle Workflow Running On Windows
This would be useful if UNIX was an option for me. It is not.
I have some questions:
1)Can I use WorkFlow 2.6.3.5 on windows with iLearning 5.0?
I know Workflow 2.6.3.5 is working with MS Exchange.
2)Can I use sendmail in some form or shape?
IIS 5.0 (or 4.0) has a mail gateway that can be utilized by a sendmail program.
Sendmail software for windows:

http://www.indigostar.com/sendmail.htm
http://www.ntsendmail.com/
http://www.windowsitpro.com/Windows/Article/ArticleID/5289/5289.html
Has anyone tried any of theese?
I'd like to make a suggestion to my IT department on how to solve this issue.
Thanx for any help in advance :-)
Kristian Amlie, Bergen NorwayThere are a couple of patches available that allow a customer to upgrade their Oracle iLearning database to 10g and with that, upgrade Oracle Workflow to version 2.6.3 which supports email notifications through workflow on windows.
Patch #s are 4321769 and 4485520
Thanks!

Migrating DB from SQL Server (Windows) to Oracle (Unix)
I wish to migrate a SQL Server 2000 database on a Windows environment to an Oracle database on a Unix environment.
Are there any issues with using the Oracle Migration Workbench to migrate a SQL Server database to Oracle between different operating systems?
Thanks in advance.Hi!
After trying to migrate only a copule of schemas from sqlserver, my solution appeared by itself. It seems that something goes wrong if you migrate only selected users, so I build up a test instance in windows, made the workbench repository on it, and ran a full migration from all the users to this test environment.
After this it was nice, cause I made an exp from the squema I wanted and imported it on production environment.
PD: Migration logs only raised java related problems. I got quite crazy realizing what jdbc version I had, but it wasn't the problem.
By the way, if you try to run sqlloader scripts, be careful with language issues, cause I had to reverse data loading because incorrect typos or so.
Thanks a lot for your help.

Objects to be transported from Windows platform to Unix platform
Hi experts
Our current development is on windows platform. and the production server will be on HP Unix platform.
I just wanted to know that is it possible to transport the webdynpro application and the portal contents.
Also wanted to know what all components need modification while transport.
Guide me the steps for the move.
regards
vijaUsually you shouldn´t have any issues transporting. Java bytecode is platform independent.
What CAN be an issue is the different endianess if you program yourself and assume, that the byte order is little endian - but if you stay on the webdynpro level you shouldn´t have any problems.

Exact Match of Windows Fonts on Unix Mid-Tier for PDF, AFM License
Having read the many postings and Metalink articles on this issue is it sounds like I need only the AFM files on the Unix side for Oracle Reports to accurately render the real-estate on the report (for PDF) and that the actual report/fonts will be rendered on the (Windows) client side. My question is: Does it violate the license of Microsoft fonts to generate the AFM files and deploy them on the Unix mid-tier since these are only the "metric files"? If not, has anybody actually purchased the licenses to put, say the Microsoft Office font set, on a Unix Oracle Reports box? Any problems or issues if you did?
ThanksThanks for the response Melissa
Why did you abandon the installation on windows then?
Could you get every component working on windows prior to moving over to Linux?
If you had everything working on Windows could you please tell me what setup you had i.e. what operating system, how much RAM etc.
I know you kindly gave your number so I could call you about this but I'll have to check with my boss before calling as I notice you are calling from the US.
We are only a very small oracle software development firm (in the UK) looking to add Collaboration Suite to our Portfolio.
Thanks again
