xsql:include-xml

if the href for the <xsql:include-xml> call doesn't return any results or returns null you get an xsql error. Is there a workaround?
for example:
<xsql:include-xml id="0">
select xmltype.getclobval(doc) from tbl_test where id = {@id}
</xsql:include-xml>
if doc is null or the resultset is empty then you get <xsql-error action="xsql:include-xml" />.

Include a <xsql:no-rows-query> element.
<xsql:include-xml href="">
Select xmltype.getClobVal
<xsql:no-rows-query>
Select Statement to use if include-xml returns null.
</xsql:no-rows-query>
</xsql:include-xml>

  • Xsql: merging data with include-xml

    Is there any way for the data returned from <xsql:include-xml> to include a primary key so that the stylesheet can merge the data in.
    In my situation, I have a primary result set from xsql:query but it has two fields in varchar2's that include xml content. (This is oracle 8i.) So I need to query for this separately -- using xsql:include-xml.
    I'm trying to merge this data back in to the primary result set via an xsl transform. But I need some way of identifying corresponding records. Can I have a second field in my xsql:include-xml query that will be used as a primary key? And maybe inserted as an attribute?
    Has anyone been through this or have any thoughts on my conundrum?

    Can show an example for what you plan to do? Normally, you need to use reparse="yes".

  • Include-xml calling as a POST

    I have a HTML form calling a .xsql page.
    That xsql page includes dynamically generated
    XML.
    I am trying to use the include-xml directive to call a URL (perl procedure) that will output XML data (dynamically created).
    The perl (cgi-bin..) module expects to be called via a POST to parse the arguments automatically.
    Is there a way from a xsql page to call a perl module including the arguments that were used to call the xsql page as a POST ?
    Thanks for your help.
    null

    Are you asking whether <xsql:include-xml> supports an option to use HTTP POST instead of HTTP GET to retrieve the XML resource?
    As far as passing parameters, you'd need to build up the appropriate URL in the href attribute, referencing the parameter values in the attribute value.

  • Using include-xml and different character encodings

    I have static XML documents which contain different character encodings in the xml prolog....
    ISO-8859, UTF-8, and SHIFT_JIS.
    Each of these documents has entities declared in an internal doctype declaration.
    I have an XSQL page with several <xsql:include-xml href="???.xml"/> statements.
    I want to make either --
    1) UTF-8 as the ultimate encoding of the resulting XML data
    2) Force the encodings on the individual documents to be changed to UTF-8
    I want to get a final XML data steam which can be successfully parsed and transformed. The xsql page has a stylesheet reference.
    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    karol wrote:XML and XSLT are separate, but they're not suitable for printing / pdf generation - LaTeX is. XML is really fluid and has no notions of typesetting built in. It's perfect for on-line reports you view with a web browser.
    Can I ask why XML and XSLT aren't suitable for printing / pdf generation?  Using XSL-FO I can define a page size, margin widths, etc., right?  Just because it isn't normally done doesn't immediately make it a bad idea.  I was under the impression that XML was intended to be abstract enough that it could be used for more than just web pages or data transfer.

  • Character problems with xsql:include-xsql reparse="yes"

    I have a problem retrieving XML-fragments from CLOB columns.
    Danish ISO-8859-1 characters (aelig, oslash, aring) are returned as "?" from Apache/Jserv when using xsql:include-xsql reparse="yes".

    Database characterset is we8iso8859p1.
    I'm using the Apache/Jserv that comes with Oracle 9.2.0.1.
    Steps to reproduce problem:
    -- Table data:
    create table tab1 (id number,clob_col clob);
    insert into tab1 values(1, '<x>fxe</x>');
    /*inserted characters are aelig(230), oslash(248), aring(229)*/

    Running test.xsql works fine with XSQL command-line, but FAILS through Apache/Jserv (danish characters are returned as "?").
    inc.xsql works fine through XSQL command-line and Apache/Jserv, problem only happens with xsql:include-xsql reparse="yes" (e.g. test.xsql).
    xsql:include-xml works fine, but I cannot use this, bca. in my real business case I'm selecting more than one row from the database.
    I've checked and double-checked my jserv.properties several times, and believes it to be correct.
    The xsql:include-xsql reparse="yes" technique works fine in our Solaris9/Oracle-8.1.7/iAS-1.0.2.2 environment.
    Any suggestions ?
    -- Peter ([email protected])

    If I put the following line in jserv.properties:
    wrapper.env=LANG=en_US.ISO8859-1
    the problem with xsql:include-xsql reparse="yes" seems to go away.
    Really strange, since Oracle products in my experience normally only uses NLS_LANG, not LANG.
    Also, we're accessing several databases with different charactersets from the same ApacheJserv installation, so I don't understand why LANG (or NLS_LANG) should be set to a particular value.
    Can anybody explain ?

  • Passing parameters to an included xsql file (using xsql:include-xsql)

    Hi,
    because I want to use different stylesheets for my transformations I use the setup with including the actual query xsql file from a sort of wrapper xsql files around it with a different stylesheet instruction.
    All is fine but request parameters given to the wrapper xsql file are not visible in the actual query xsql file.
    I pass values to the included file as follows:
    <xsql:include href="url_off_file_to_include?p_par1={@p_par1}" reparse="yes" />
    The wrapper file has received the p_par1 parameter first.
    The value of the parameter does not end up in the included file.
    Any ideas ??

    The include directive <%@ include %> adds the included file inline into including JSP.
    You probably would want to use the include action: <jsp:include page="includedPage.jsp" />. This will add the response of the included page at that location.
    However, keep in mind that the var in <c:forEach> would be scoped to within the tag, so it won't be accessible to the included page. What you can do, is use <c:set var="anotherVar" value="${vf}" scope="request" />. This will allow the contents of vf to be accessible in the included page via "anotherVar".

  • XSQL output (XML) rows are clubbed

    Any idea Why: When I run multiple xsql queries in xsql file
    (One dml follwed by an xsql), all the rows the xml returned
    are clubbed in to a single line.
    ie. there's no line feed between elements? (Unix /Oracle8i)
    Thanks - vma
    Sample query/xsql:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <Emp-Rec connection="test" xmlns:xsql="urn:oracle-xsql">
    <xsql:dml rowset-element="" row-element="">
    alter session set nls_date_format="dd-mon-yy"
    </xsql:dml>
    <xsql:query b="%" a="%" rowset-element="NAME" row element="TRANS">
    SELECT
    EMP,
    NAME,
    ID,
    TEL,
    DEPT,
    F1,
    F2,
    JOIN_DT
    FROM EMP_TBL
    WHERE EMP = '{@b}'
    AND ID = '{@a}'
    AND JOIN_DT = '07-AUG-02'
    </xsql:query>
    </Emp-Rec>

    Thanks.
    But unfortunaely I don't use any browser.
    but just the command line:
    ( java oracle.xml.xsql.XSQLCommandLine file.xsql)
    Any how it looks like the effects are same.
    However, if I use the program TestXpath, and retreive
    all the elements and rows form the xml doc,
    I get properly indented multi-row out put,
    which leads that the output data it self is OK.
    So, I still don't know why do I get all the elements
    is a sigle line. May be line/row size got to do
    some thing with it?

  • Air 2.6 Include XML file

    Hi guys,
    I successfully created a highscore list for AIR 2.6 using File.applicationStorageDirectory.
    file = File.applicationStorageDirectory.resolvePath("highscore.xml");
    fileStream = new FileStream();
    fileStream.open(file, FileMode.READ);
    highscoreXML = new XML(fileStream.readUTFBytes(fileStream.bytesAvailable));
    This works on my desktop debug, but it does not seem to work on my Ipad though.
    This is how I package the file.. putting the included xml file at the end (is this right?)
    ./adt  -package -target ipa-test -storetype pkcs12 -keystore  Certificates.p12 -storepass PASS  -provisioning-profile MotoMemoryProfile.mobileprovision motoMemory.ipa  motoMemory-app.xml motoMemory.swf highscore.xml
    It works until it has to open the highscore.xml. Not sure how to debug this or if I am missing anyhthing...
    I would really appreciate any input.
    cheers
    /andreas

    I had this problem too.  Was getting IO errors.  What ended up fixing it was changing the path from "file.xml" to "/file.xml".
    For some reason, I only had that problem with XML files needing the / in front.
    Also, you might wasnt to consider using the SharedObject instead of an XML file.  Much easier.
    var myData:SharedObject = SharedObject.getLocal("scores");
    myData.data.scores = <your scores object>;

  • UIX with XSQL as XML data provider and event handler

    Hello ,
    I would like to bind XML data to messageinput elements of a form element
    as values to be presented before entering (data provider)
    as well as input values to be persisted after completing the form (event handler).
    My impression (as a newbee) is that only for BC4J integration there is a bidirectional binding with view objects.
    Can i use 'include' to bind a static xml file as data source for output?
    How can i use XSQL to be bound as data for input as well as for output of a form?
    A last question concerning a page with 3 tabs:
    do i need 3 different pages and requests to get the data of the 3 tabs
    or is it possible to get the whole data of the page in one request
    and distribute it over the 3 tabs.
    Any help appreciated
    Thanks

    You could do this, but we don't provide any tools to make this easy.
    You'd have to write an implement of the DataObject interface
    that gives your UI access to the XML document, and write custom
    event handlers to perform the "set" side of things. The Data Binding
    and UIX Controller chapters of the UIX developer's guide will give you
    a high-level view of how to accomplish this, but nothing specifically
    about reading or writing to XML documents.

  • Error while running a sample XSQL from XML bible book from Steve Muench

    I am running the sample XSQL code from Chapter 03, which deals with exporting XML and transform into SQL statements. I'm using JDeveloper and I believe I've setup libraries and HTML root directory etc. I'm getting the following error:
    XSQL-011 Error processing XSLT stylesheet.
    XSL-1009 Attribute xsl:version not found in xsl:stylesheet.
    Can I get some help in fixing this error?
    Thanks a lot,

    Hi,
    This is the example I took from Steve Muench's book.
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
    <xsl:output method="text"/>
    <xsl:template match="/">
    </xsl:template1>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    As you can see, I do have the version=1.0 attribute. Why is it complaining still?

  • How to include XML Prolog in BPEL SOAP message.

    Hi,
    I'm using SOA Suite 11g on WebLogic and have a BPEL Process in a composite application that is calling a third party SOAP Web Service.
    Whilst it is standard for a SOAP service to not care whether or not the SOAP message includes an XML Prolog (<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>) this third party service rejects the message if the prolog is not included.
    Unfortunately the partner link in my BPEL process is not adding the prolog when invoking the service and I cannot get the third party service changed to accept messages without it.
    Does anyone know how I can make BPEL include the prolog in SOAP messages?
    Currently the SOAP message looks like this:-
    <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope">
    <soap:Header/>
    <soap:Body>
    </soap:Body>
    </soap:Envelope>
    What I would like it to look like is this :-
    *<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>*
    <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope">
    <soap:Header/>
    <soap:Body>
    </soap:Body>
    </soap:Envelope>
    Thanks in advance...

    Hi swigg,
    It's not the partnerlink input variable that I want to manipulate, it's the SOAP Envelope that the Partner Link generates when it is invoked.
    I know that you can manipulate the SOAP Header by adding properties to the Partnerlink but it's the Envelope that surrounds both the Header and the Body that I want to set the prolog on.
    It can be done in java and .NET (WCF) by setting a property on the SOAP Envelope class, but I can't see a way to do it for a partner link in BPEL which is a shame.
    To be honest it looks like Oracle have let me down here so I'll have to use some other technology to call this service which unfortunately plays into the hands of those that didn't think I should use Oracle's BPEL offering in the first place.
    Thanks.

  • How to include xml file without embedding in flex web application?

    Hi
    I have a big XML file around 11 mb. I want to include this xml in my web application without embedding.
    So anyone have idea to include.
    Please suggest me any idea.
    Thanks

    If you don't want to embed the XML file into a SWF, then the SWF can download the XML file from the server at runtime when it needs it. But there will be a delay while that happens. Maybe it would be better to put the data in the XML file into a database and then access only the parts of it that you need.
