Yahoo Merchant Solution Extension

When using Store Tags in Yahoo Merchant Solution Extension
Yahoo says their extension is writing the code correctly but
dreamweaver changes the code. Yahoo showed my how to manually make
corrections to the code but this is not a satisfactory solution on
a site with many store tags. The incorrect code causes an error
message in the Yahoo shopping cart saying the item cannot be placed
in the cart. Does anyone know of an easier workaround? Does anyone
know how to convince Dreamweaver that they are in error here?
Here is the code generated by the extension:
<form method="post" action="<!--#ystore_order id=vwar6
-->">
<input type="submit" value="Order" />
Here is the code as it appears after cut and pasting into
site page:
<form method="post" action="<!--#ystore_order id=vwar6
-->">
<input name="submit" type="submit" value="Order" />
Here is the code that actually works:
<form method="post" action="<!--#ystore_order
id="vwar6" -->">
<input type="submit" value="Order" />

Try this:
1. Edit > Preferences > Code Rewriting
2. Turn OFF "Rename form items when pasting"
Does that fix it?

  • Yahoo Merchant Solutions Extension for Dreamweaver MX 2004 Trial Version

    I have a licensed version of Dreamweaver MX 2004 at home, as
    well as the downloaded extension for Yahoo Merchant Solutions that
    enables me to add the shopping cart. However, I am currently
    working offsite and needed to download a trial version of
    Dreamweaver to work on my pages while I was not in my office. After
    installing the trial version, I tried downloading the Merchant
    Solutions extension. This extension downloads and installs
    simultaneously and requires Dreamweaver to be closed when
    performing this action. However, when trying to install, it kept
    coming up with a runtime error whenever attempting to start
    Dreamweaver. This is due to the pop-up trial box that appears every
    time Dreamweaver is launched, thus preventing the installation of
    the extension. Since the full version is available for the 30-day
    trial, isn't there some way of bypassing the stupid box that keeps
    popping up everytime so extensions can be installed?
    Also, is there a reliable extension for autosave? I stepped
    away from my desk for about five minutes and found a Windows update
    had occurred before I had a chance to save everything I did in
    Dreamweaver.
    Thanks.

    Phil,
    I believe that the Yahoo Merchant Solutions Extension for
    Dreamweaver
    does not work on DW8, but maybe it has been updated recently.
    Take a look at this TechNote regarding installing the 8.0.2

  • Yahoo Merchant Solutions Extension won't install, need permissions help

    I am trying to install the Yahoo Merchant Solutions Extension. I download it, select open, the extesions manager opens, I accept the terms and then when it starts to install I get a message that says "You do not have the appropriate permissions required to perform this operation. Contact your system administrator to obtain permisssion.
    I am the only user on my laptop and my settings have me as administrator. I have vista on  my machine and cs4.
    Any immediate help would be greatly appreciated.

    In Vista, you need to find the Extension Manager in your Start menu, right-click it and select "Run as administrator" for extensions to install.

  • Yahoo Merchant Tools with Dreamweaver CS$

    Group,
    I have a client that I am redesigning a site for.  Her current site uses Yahoo eCommerce which I believe she set up quite a while back using their templates.  I am wondering if anyone is aware of any extension for Dreamweaver CS4 that work with Yahoo Merchant Tools.  I found an extension for DW MX, MX 2004 and 8, but I can't seem to find anything for CS4.  According to Yahoo the merchant tools integrate with Dreamweaver, but again they don't provide any info.
    Otherwise does anyone know of any other good, affordable eCommerce options that work with Dreamweave CS4?  My client recommended homestead.com, but it looks like they want you to use their pre-designed templates.  I wan't to build the site using Dreamweaver obviously so I have more control over design and layout.  Ideally something where I can just add a script or something to a button which would take the user into a shopping cart that I can also apply some customization so it looks somewhat like the actual site.  The shopping cart customization doesn't necessarrily have to be done in Dreamweaver. In short, I want to build the bulk of the site using CS4, and the cart can be a WISYWIG outside web application if it needs to.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

  • Yahoo merchant extension for CS5

    I found the yahoo store extension and installed it (installed successfully) in CS5.
    I see the yahoo tab in the tool bar and I am able to fill everything out to start a new site, but when I click ok it says I need to restart dreamweaver, and closes it automatically, but doesn't open it again which I thought was strange. When I restart dw, I don't see my site in the Yahoo "manage sites".
    I am using DW CS5 on windows Vista.
    Please Help Thanks,

    It appears to me that Yahoo! has decided that editing the site remotely is a "bad idea", as all access to FTP for the Merchant Services seem to fail.  I'm abandoning my hope to simplify the store updates in Yahoo, and proceeding to look for real e-com hosting solutions.  Working with RTML is like coding in the 90's, and I'm much more a fan of modern approaches!

  • Add Yahoo store tags to Dreamweaver website

    How do you add Yahoo store tags to a Dreamweaver HTML page? I've built a website using Dreamweaver and using Yahoo Merchant to host the online store. I've created the shopping cart in Yahoo Merchant Solutions but can't figure out how to add the shopping cart/store tags to my pages in dreamweaver.

    Can you give us a link to a page describing these tags?

  • Appropriate permissions

    I'm trying to download an extension(Yahoo Merchant Solutions) but EM says I don't have appropriate permissions, contact system administrator. Where is this coming from? I'm using Windows Vista, and I've downloaded extensions before with no problem.

    Hi
    Providing you are logged in as administrator, try right clicking on the extension manager program link, (start menu) and selecting "run as administrator" from the list of options.

  • I keep getting a Yahoo DNS error handler page, and can't even access the add-ons page to disable it because it redirects me to the Yahoo DNS page immediately

    I have already seen some suggested solutions to the problem of this extremely annoying Yahoo DNS error solutions page, but they involve going to the add-ons page of firefox and disabling various add-ons. The issue is that even when I try to go to the add-ons page I get immediately redirected to the Yahoo DNS solutions page again.
    I have cleared my browser history and cache, hoping it would help, but nothing. Extremely annoying as I never installed anything - it simply started after a Firefox upgrade.
    Any help much appreciated.

    Open the Help menu and choose Restart Firefox with Add-ons Disabled. Remove any offending extensions. For details, see the "Uninstall from Firefox Safe Mode" section of the following article.

    Is this a Mozilla or Yahoo problem?
    Instructions say clear cache but I can find No way to clear just the cache without deleting the cookies.
    I want the cookies to stay.....

    It is more likely a cookie problem, so you may need to remove the Yahoo cookies.<br />
    Also make sure that you allow cookies from Yahoo and that extensions or security software doesn't block cookies.

  • Firefox always opens 2nd tab for Yahoo sign in

    I had to reset Firefox to try to fix another software issue (which it didn't fix btw) and after the reset every time I open Firefox I get a 2nd tab for Yahoo asking me to log in to my Yahoo account even though I never sign out. I check the Keep me signed in box, enter my password and click sign in and then the next time I open Firefox I have to go through the process all over again because the Yahoo tab opens up AGAIN! I'm using the Yahoo Mail Notifier extension for Firefox but I've used it for years with no problems. I saw somewhere else that someone suggested going into the Options and the Privacy tab and under History making sure it was set to Use Custom Settings for History and that Use Private Browsing Mode was NOT checked and that Keep Cookies was set to Keep Until Firefox Closed with an exception for Yahoo. But mine was set to Remember History. However, when I set it to Use Custom the Private Browsing Mode wasn't checked, the cookies are set to Keep Until they Expire and there's a box to Clear History when Firefox Closes and it's NOT checked. Does anyone have any suggestions for what might be causing this? It's really frustrating!

    Thanks, that was the culprit unfortunately. I really loved that button :-) But having to log in every single time is just too annoying.

  • Cannot post a comment on yahoo or watch a yahoo only video using Firefox

    I used to be able to post a comment and watch videos using the Yahoo website. A few weeks ago, I can no longer post a comment or watch video on only the Yahoo site. Other website I can post to and watch their videos. If I go to Google Crome, I can post and watch videos on the Yahoo site, so I know I have not been blocked by Yahoo that would prevent me from this.

    Recently both the Yahoo! Toolbar extension and the Babylon extension have been reported to cause an issue like that. Disable or uninstall those add-ons.

  • How can I remove the Yahoo toolbar?

    I just upgraded to Firefox 4 and I would like to remove the yahoo toolbar because its just a waist of space any help would be appreciated thanks.

    I found this online and I hope it helps
    There are two ways to remove the Yahoo! Toolbar for Mozilla Firefox.
    The easiest way is to use the "Uninstall" menu item:
    Click the Pencil menu.
    Click "Uninstall".
    Enter any feedback you'd like to send to Yahoo! about why you're uninstalling the toolbar.
    Click "Uninstall".
    Restart your browser.
    If that doesn't work, you can also use the Extension Manager in Firefox to remove the Yahoo! Toolbar extension:
    Click the "Tools" menu in the Firefox browser.
    Click the "Extensions" menu item.
    In the Extensions Manager window scroll until you find the Yahoo! Toolbar extension.
    Click the Yahoo! Toolbar extension.
    Click "Uninstall".
    Click "OK" in the "Uninstall Yahoo! Toolbar" window.
    Exit Extensions Manager and restart your browser.
    Either one of these methods will uninstall Yahoo! Toolbar from your browser. If neither works, your user profile is corrupt. You might need to create a new user profile for your browser.
