Yahoo! Web-based email forces me to mobile-web version

First of all, I have a business Yahoo account under my own domain name. Second, the Mail app in my iPhone simply doesn't work. Don't ask me why. I wish I knew. That's for another post.
SO: I had been happily logging onto Yahoo via Safari and checking my business email there. Until now. Like many other iPhone users, I'm now running into several websites that FORCE me to use mobile web versions. Thanks a lot. I understand that you can switch that off in Google. You CANNOT in Yahoo. The problem is, when I log onto Yahoo mail thru safari, it sends me to my @yahoo.com account. In the REAL version of Yahoo, I can click mydomainname.com to switch over to my business account. In the mobile web version, I cannot. There is only my @yahoo.com account, and nothing else. Well, ok, there is a link that says "Check other email", but that just sends you to an error page. Awesome.
I disabled JavaScript. This did nothing.
Any other ideas? I've tried everything.
I can't check email at work, and my iPhone Mail doesn't work, and now Safari doesn't work for my email either. Why should I have an iPhone at all? My old cell phone did just as good a job at not retrieving my email. (By the way, don't bother with saying something like "Oh, it's not Apple's fault!" I don't CARE whose fault it is, I just want to be able to access my email.)

Simple solution. Open Safari on your apple. Go to your business Yahoo account page. Save your business Yahoo account page on the bookmarks bar on Safari. Plug your iphone into your apple. When you open up itunes with iphone, go to info and select sync Safari bookmarks. After your done with sync, eject ipod, go to book marks on your iphone, and your new business Yahoo account bookmark will be there. Click it and you will not see the mobile web version of business Yahoo account anymore.

this problem still exists and I am tired of trying new versions, then having to uninstall them and go back to version 5. Now you FORCE me to upgrade to version 7 where my web based email doesn't work. So looks like I will switch browsers to Chrome. You shouldn't automatically force and upgrade on anyone - especially if you haven't fixed the bugs in it!!!
I posted this problem before and no one answered it - so I don't expect a reply to this one either. Too bad, cause I liked Firefox.

This is an issue for me too and everytime I upgrade on a different computer it pops up - very annoying and I posted a request for support but never received an answer - not even an acknowledgment. I like Firefox - don't want to change and it only happens in my web based email but I may have to switch browsers too.

  • Web-based email & Mail

    Hi folks
I currently have a yahoo email address which works fine with the iPhone but not Mail on my Macbook. I hear this is down to yahoo being difficult. I also have been having problems with my email anyways so am looking to switch to another web-based email that works with Mail.
At this stage I do not want to pay for this, so would appreciate any feedback from some free web-based email accounts that you have used. Best? Which ones to avoid?
Thanks in advance for the help!
    Cheers,
    Howard

gmail (google mail) works excellently with both iPhone and Mail on Mac. You can use it with IMAP, something you cannot do with Yahoo, unless you have a paid account (as far as I know).

  • How do I get "mailto:" links to work with my web based email?

I use the web based email from godaddy.com called workspace. I can't get the mailto: links to work with firefox. I did find a code that makes the correct compose window to open up but it doesn't input the email address.
Also, a related problem with my email is that you can't copy an email address and then paste the email address into the email. Pasting is not allowed with firefox but works ok with Internet Explorer

  • INotes web based emails

Why I can't print all my iNotes web based emails in one go to PDF file? Error message "There was an error processing a page. There was a problem reading this document (109)" always appear and give no solution

Hi Bernd, thanks for replying. As my company mailbox size is limited, I need to archive my iNotes emails by printing in PDF format; but it can't be print in one go, seems like it can't take more than 30 pages per print, is this common? I would think it must be able to print all in one go irregardless of the number of pages, right? Please enlighthen me, thanks much!

Sorry I have no solution but this happened to me after Hulu told me to clear my browser cache (history) to be able to watch a video that stopped abruptly (Hulu lied; you rarely need to clear the cache.)
You can back up your browser history to keep this from being a problem in the future. • Feature request - iSync with Gmail, other web-based emails

It would also be great if you could iSync the Mac's Address book with Gmail and other web-based email services.
I know I can export contacts and load them in to Gmail. But you have to remember to do this each time you change an email address in the Mac's address book.

I just got this email back from Plaxo. Apparantly Plaxo does not sync Address Book with GMail, yet. But they are planning to offer this feature in the future. Although he does not say whether this will be an automatic background synchronization.
    Hi Brian,
    Thank you for contacting Plaxo
You can go ahead and download the Plaxo toolbar for Mac using this link "http:www.plaxo.com/downloads" and install the Plaxo toolbar for your Mac and download your contacts from your Plaxo online to your Mac address book. However, as of now you will not be able to sync your Plaxo online account with Gmail account. Very soon we will have this as a Plaxo feature.
Please let me know if you have any further questions and concerns.

  • My web-based email downloads aren't working properly. Is this a plugin issue?

Either since upgrading to Firefox 4.0 (and updates) or getting Adobe Reader updates, my download configuration is no longer working properly. For example, when I am downloading (from my web-based email) attachments such as images, word docs, excel docs, this is what happens:
    1) I am NOT asked if I want to Save or Open
    2) The document opens awkwardly in the correct application, attempts to PRINT immediately, then quickly closes and re-opens in Adobe Reader!
I cancel the printing as quickly as I can, but am baffled. I'm guessing it's a plugin issue, but don't know how to resolve that.
I know it's a Firefox issue, because I tried in Opera and it works normally. Please help, thanks!

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • This just started today. I can't open my web based email with godaddy. I can see the item when it loads but it will not open to read, reply or anything else.

I can not read my web based email account with godaddy. It started this morning. I can open the page to see the email headlines each email is frozen and will not open.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    1. Clear Firefox's Cache
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Offline Storage : "Clear Now"
    2. If needed, delete the site's cookies here
While viewing a page on the site, right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

I would think that this is a very important issue to resolve on the part of Apple in order to better serve its corporate and business customers across the country.
But that is just it. The iPhone is not intended to be a corporate phone nor did Apple make the claim that it was supposed to.
I am glad that I am not the only having this problem, however I bought this phone for the specific reason of having increased access to my calendar and email and I am very disappointed to now find that the Microsoft Exchange server is not fully or appropriately supported.
Apple has been very public ever since its release on what email systems it supported.
The associate at the Apple store in Tampa that I spoke with assured me that the iPhone worked seamlessly with Outlook but failed to mention any potential issues with the Microsoft Exchange Server.
That is because outlook and exchange are two very different things.
This issue needs to be resolved or there will be plenty of very unhappy business men and women.

  • Distribution through a web based email account

I don't mind telling you that ADOBE has been the worst learning experience of my life, the worst most unimaginative, uncreative website and instruction process ever. Pathetic. Having said that, note the last line of the "distribute" advice in their help base. Specifically,
"if you want to distribute it through a web-based email account, the process is slightly different" AND NO WHERE DO THEY TELL YOU HOW IT IS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT OR HOW TO DO IT.
    Anyone have any clues?
    Unbelievable
    From Their Useless Help Database.
If you want to distribute the form immediately and through your default email application, you can complete the distribution process entirely in the Distribute Forms wizard. However, if you want to distribute the form later, or if you want to distribute it through a web-based email account, the process is slightly different.

I have a similar problem. When I'm logged into my company's online bank, I sometimes need to e-mail some account transcripts, but the Adobe reader pop up a box, and telling it's been a fatal error, and need to be shut down. I couls easily do that before, but suddenly it don't work. What is the problem with this program? It really sucks!!

  • Submit form using web based email service

I regularly get sent forms by my printers which I fill in to approve print jobs. There's a submit button the forms which has always nicely opened up Mail (Mac OS X) in order to send a data file that the sender can read. However, I've just recently started using a different email client (Postbox) and I get this error from Adobe Acrobat...
The SendMail doesn't know how to talk to your default mail client.  Please select a different mail application to use.
I can't find a way to change the settings though. I used to be given the option between sending via a desktop or web based email service but a while ago I ticked the box to 'not show this message again'.
Anyone got any ideas how I can maybe use Gmail or similar to send these forms?
    Cheers,
    Jon

    Dear Frances,
The "Submit by Email" button enables to submit your form data in two modes.
    1) Default Email Application (MS Outlook)
    2) Use Webmail
You can use option 2 to submit form data through Webmail.
    Thanks,
    VJ
