YouTube sound problems since RealPlayer was disabled from firefox

Since RealPlayer recorder was disabled from Firefox, some clips in YouTube play with correct sound levels, while other can hardly be heard - even with the sound slider full on. There seems to be no reason as to which clip is going to be affected - it's just random.

It looks like a problem with Flash. Are you using the latest Adobe Flash 11.3 that is known to have problems with Firefox whether or not RealPlayer is installed?

Just scroll down to the section named below and start from there:

Make sure to also try the last resort option listed there!
If the above fails, you can always try to downgrade to Flash 10.2.

Sound problems since downloading newest iTunes

I recently downloaded the newest version of iTunes. Since then I have
been having sound problems with my computer. Sound through the monitor
is ok. Sound through the speakers is really low (ie: need to turn
speaker volume way up to hear music). I tried burning a CD using music in
iTunes and the CD volume is so low that I need to turn the speaker
volume (in my car/stereo) way up to hear the music. Are there any
adjustments in iTunes that I can make to adjust this volume? Is this a problem
with the newest iTunes version? Should I uninstall iTunes and if so
can I reset to an older version so as not to risk losing my music? I
have tried listening to other sound bites - like movie trailers - since I
downloaded this new version of iTunes and the sound volume is very low
through the computers speakers.

Go to a low volume song and see what the volume setting on the song is...(it's under options in get info)...if the setting is uniformly low, select all your music and then select get info, and you can raise the sound an all of them at once...

After an unauthorized purchase on itunes was resolved (through paypal) and my phone was updated (3g) my appleID was disabled on my iphone. I can get it on my mac which makes me think it's something wrong with my phone. I believe this all happened when I had to connect with itunes for updates for my iphone to work properly.(it froze, telling me to hookup to itunes). I've changed my password due to the unauthorized purchases, but the confusing part is ....Mac works with ID but phone doesn't. Any ideas on how to restore without going to apple support & paying....this is ridiculous! You'd think simple solution....frustrated with apple completely! They make things way to difficult!

Can not connect to the internet. This is a new problem since I have been using firefox for years.

The only way that file opens thru IE8 for me ''(but not actually in IE8)'' is by using the Zip Utility (then IE closes) that is in WinXP and then opening the two image files in the Windows Fax and Picture Viewer.
I think Firefox is trying to display that file because the MIME-type is for '''''text/plain''''' instead of the appropriate MIME-type of '''application/vnd.google-earth.kml+xml''' or '''application/vnd.google-earth.kmz'''
That is something that needs to be configured in the server that is hosting that file type. Sorry, I don't know how that can be fixed. The one support person here that might know lives in Europe ''(I believe)'', so you might need to wait for an answer.

Cannot delete something in printer que to was sent from firefox on terminal

For several weeks when we are printing out form Firefox on our gmail address, from the computer we get something printing out from the computer that prints "My... http... and then at the bottom of the page it prints 6 of 8 111... We are unable to delete this from the printer or the computer, although we can push "stop" on the computer and it will stop printing until we try to print something else from the computer and the same thing prints out. When I open the printer que from Firefox, and on the que when I hit "preview" the same thing happens in the preview. I can go to Safari and print out what I want from the computer or I can do the same from gmail from Safari.

I'm seeing this same problem, the server will not allow the deletion of accounts, no matter what they are. Has anyone found a solution to this other than nuking the site from orbit?

Sound problems with Yosemite when switching from internal speakers to earbuds

After upgrading to Yosemite on my Macbook Pro, when I switch from using the internal speakers for sound and plug in my (Apple) earbuds, the sound stops working. The sound also stops when I do the reverse and unplug my earbuds, nothing comes out of the internal speakers. The only way to restore sound is to go into System Preferences, Sound, and select the output device (internal speakers, earphones, etc..). Anyone else experiencing this problem after installing Yosemite, or know of a fix?

there is something else happened twice with me, I plugged my macbook with a HDMI cable to the TV, and everything was ok, until I closed the macbook (sleep mode), when I opened the mac again,, the sound has gone! No sound from TV or macbook,, the only solution is to "RESTART"

Sound problems since ios6 update iPad 2.

Okay...per Apple search no matches for this. I guess I am the only one? Ever since the iOS 6 update (I finally bit the bullet and thought, 'it's has to be working by now' and updated it this week from 5) my iPad 2 won't play audio. For example, go to music and start playing...the player starts, and then immediately stops.
The alarms make no sound.
Powering off and on doesn't make any system default sounds.
I did a full reset and it worked...for a day. Come morning...no alarm audio and everything else is no audio again.
It is kind of worrisome not knowing if the alarms will work in the morning. I checked the audio before going to sleep and left the ipad on all night just in case the power saving was messing it up....nope.
Any ideas?

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

Sound problems since IOS 6 update

Yesterday I updated my iPhone 4s to IOS 6 and since I´ve experienced problems with my speakers. Before the update my phone was working like a charm, but now the sound I low and sound metallic. I've been looking online for solution, but nothing helps!! All volume bottoms are on high, the mono sound is off and I have several times rebooted the phone.. All without luck. I´m desperate so please help..

I too experienced the same problem with my speakers after updating my iPhone 4S to iOS6. Barely any volume and a metallic sound. I called AppleCare who instructed me to restore the phone to rule out a software issue. The restore didn't fix the problem so they are going to send me out a new phone. I'm still not convinced it's a hardware issue as the phone was working perfectly prior to updating the OS. One of my friends had similar issues after updating his software too however when I quizzed the Apple employee he claimed it was the first time he had heard of such an issue. It will be interesting to see if a bug-fix for this problem is realeased in the next update.

Since I have upgrade from Firefox 3 to 4 and then 5 I know longer get the Padlock or Keylock Icon indicating the needed a secure session when logging on to sites such as my bank account, what is the problem?

The padlock or key Icon that indicates a secure session no longer appears when I sign into a site such as my bank or any site requiring security for financial or other transaction. Since this security is no longer available in the Firefox browser, I use Internet Explorer for SECURE Browser functions.

We had the exact same issue happen to us. No issue on Windows XP but Windows 7 mapped two home drives (F and Z). F was mapped during the login script and Z was being mapped by some unknown reason.
We use Netapp for our storage and home drives and use a feature called CIFS Home Drive Mapping. This essentially maps a user to a folder not available through normal CIFS methods causing AD to error when setting the home drive. To get around this we use
dsquery and dsmod to modify this attribute in the user account. This is the command we used...
dsquery user -name %UserNameX% | dsmod user -hmdrv F -hmdir \\filer\$username$
Notice there is no ":" after the F
We determined the root causewas the value for the
homeDrive attributefor the user account was set to "F" instead of "F:"
When we updated our users to reference "F:" instead of "F" in their user, this problem was resolved.
Use LDP or some other method to verify that the homeDrive attribute is set to "F:" (or any other letter) or you will have this issue.

Youtube sound problems

I can't get sound on youtube. The speaker button is X'ed out and I can't turn it on.

It works ok on my MacBook. Here are my settings:
Applications/Utilities/Audio Midi Setup. Select Window > Show Audio Window. Select "Built in Output":
Source: Internal Speakers
Format: 44100 2ch-16 bit
Volume settings for M set to zero
Volume settings for 1 and 2 set to middle of range
Click on Configure Speakers... > Select Stereo and set 1 to Left Front, 2 to Right Front
System Preferences > Sound > Output tab:
Set to Internal speakers
Balance to mid range
Output volume set to taste, Mute Off
Select "Show volume in menu bar"

Bluetooth and sound problem since upgrading to 10.9.1

Since upgrading to 10.9.1 I often have an issue with losing my sound. The only way I can restore it is to restart. It gets annoying to have to keep doing that. Can anyone suggest a solution?
Also, when I connect to my bluetooth speaker I have no sound (restarting the computer doesn't resolve this).

Addendum to my previous question....the problem started when I upgraded to Mavericks - not just the 10.9.1 upgrade. Can anyone help?
