YTD and monthly value in reports

Hello experts,
some of our reports show value in terms of YTD value...and the corresponding characteristics are Accounts....
My user wanted to know if possible to see some accounts showing YTD value and some accounts Monthly value....
Is it possible?Both Monthly value and YTD value are available in cube....

hi,
u can also include both monthly value column as well as YTD in report.just that u need to have filter for those account .
a way is that u can include fiscal year period var in selection screen then make restriction on this basis.
and for YTD will show value from start of year till date
ex- if u enter march 2010 to aug 2010.then YTD will show jan 2010 to aug 2010 data.

Hi Suzie,
Have you looked at the available content variables for determining both the YTD and the month figures. I think you should be able to achieve both the figures in BEx report using the standard variables available for characteristic Fiscal year/period. Give it a try

Display year and month in webi report

I have requirement like below.
If user select year in prompt for example user select 2011
i have 2 columns in a report pY-2,   pY-1
These above columns will display 2009 , 2010 along with the current month.Month will be same as current month.
For suppose user select 2009 and(assume current month is JULY)The above columns will display like below.
pY-2                     pY-1
July-2007            July-2008
Please suggest me how we can achieve this?

Because you have a requirement to display data for current month you will have to add at least one new restricted key figure to BEx query that you plan to use for report. Restricted key figure should use BEx SAP exist variable that limits data to current month. It might require that you will need to enable one or two BI Content variables that SAP provides with SAP BW installation. There are at least two types of current month variables - current fiscal month or current calendar month. Another possibility for restricted key figure is to use your own BEx exit variable
Afterwards you have few options;
- develop crosstab report to display pY-1, pY-2 data;
- add two more restricted key figures to BEx query to display pY-1 and pY-2 columns; this will require you to add new BEx input variable to BEx query
- create WEBI measure variables to display pY-1 and pY-2 columns based on WEBI prompt

Display previous month value in report

Hi,
I have a requirement to display the previous month amounts on monthly basis. here is the example.
In the Cube I have data like this:
Customer Month Amount
C1 Jan 2004 $500
C1 Feb 2004 $600
C1 March 2004 $1000
I want to display in Report with another key figure to show the difference between current month and previous month. Report should look like:
Customer Month Amount Prev_Month_Amount Diff.
C1 Jan 2004 $500 0 $500
C1 Feb 2004 $600 $500 $100
C1 Mar 2004 $1000 $600 $400
I have tried using restricted key figures.but it is showing the same amount in prev. moth amount colunm till feb 2004. anyone had similar req. please advise me.

Hi,
I can only think about a 2 structure approach with cell calculations.
This will result in a static report with 12 rows for each customer. Then you would need to use the new feature of zero supression, to hide those month where no data exists.

How to check the maximum Value and Last value in Reports CP column

Hi all
First of all i am sory that iam posting this question in forms instead of Reports....i had posted it in reports but no one reply and i need uirgent solution so I post here....
My problem is that in Report I have calculated some values in CP column......Like
:CP_Total := :Frieght * Rate ...etc
Know i want to ask that how can I get the last value that will be return the by this column????and also the maximum value that it will return

You mast build Summary column out of the query and select maximum to your maximum value of CP in Report level (or last for last value).

How to combine Submit value and item values in report condition?

What I have is a report with some input parameters, one of which is a Select List with Submit that forces population of a second Select List. There is also a GO button. Depending on the combination of the two drop-downs, one of three report regions then gets displayed. This all works fine, but the users would like the report NOT to show UNTIL they click on the GO button. I'm trying to figure out how to tweak my conditions to include a Submit value along with item values. Can someone suggest a solution?
(PS. I'm using dependent selects because I'm still using APEX 3.2)

When your page is submitted due to the the parent select list's value getting changed the APEX 'REQUEST' variable is set to the name of the select list item.
You could perhaps use this to perhaps set a hidden item on the page whose value can then be checked in the conditions that control the display of your report regions.

System Performance is always checked by a list of our lovely transactions in BASIS I generally had created one for my self and keep a track of performance..
IT goes like this..
Daily : DB12(Check Backup Logs);SM51(Check serv are UP);RZ20(Look for ALerts); SM13;SM21;SM37(check for cancelled jobs);SM12; st22 (dumps); ST02; SM35; SP01 (Spool jobs for more time); AL02; ST04; AL16.
Weekly : DB12; DB02; SAPDBA checks ; DB drives and space; EWA report of the past week.
Monthly : More or less the same stuff of Weekly with Archive files as well ...and SAPDBA cleanup logs... Monitor the DB growth and check for the backup logs...
Hopefully this info shd help yoiu in this regard.

YTD and Previous YTD in MDX query

Hi All,
I have two parameters Start Date and End Date. when i select the values of start date as 5th jan 2014 and End Date as 13 th Jan 2014, i want to see the Count of Tickets from 5th Jan 2014 till 13th Jan 2014 as YTD Count of Tickets and Count
of Tickets from 5th Jan 2013 till 13th Jan 2013 as PYTD Count of Tickets. The date range is user specific and is dynamic. I have used cube to create SSRS reports.
Could anyone please tell me how i can pass the selected dates to the query and get YTD and PYTD values?

if you have user hierarchy in date dimension that looks like : year-month-date than you could use following mdx query:
with member measures.[count of tickets last year] as aggregate({parallelperiod([date].[Y-M-D].[year],1,[Date].[Y-M-D].[Date].&[20140104]):
parallelperiod([Date].[Y-M-D].[year],1,[Date Submit].[Y-M-D].[Date].&[20140107])},measures.[count of tickets])

y-m-d is the name of the hierarchy. This query returns results for dates between 01/04/2014 and 01/07/2014.
In order for the query to work you must map date parameters to ssas date dimension members. You should use strtomember function.

Year and Month calculation

Hi
I have created a report with two prompts, they are "Enter Start date:" and "Enter End date:" where i take date values from a calendar while prompting.
For example:
Start date = 10/11/2003
End date = 10/10/2003
If i want to display the End date means, i ll use UserResponse("Enter End Date:") in the webi reports. What should i do to calculate Year and Month from this user response value,
i used these calculations below, but it is not working, showing me #ERROR message.
1) ToDate(UserResponse("Enter End Date:");"dd/MM/yyyy")     = #ERROR
2) FormatDate(ToDate(UserResponse("Enter End Date:");"dd/MM/yyyy");"dd/MM/yyyy")     = #ERROR
3) Year(UserResponse("Enter End Date:")   = The expression or sub-expression at position 6 in the 'Year' function uses an    invalid data type. (WIS 10037)
4) FormatDate(ToDate(UserResponse("Enter End Date:");"dd/MM/yyyy hh:mm:ss A");"MM/dd/yyyy") =#ERROR
so help me how to get the year and month values from prompts ?

How could I pass parameter that depend on values in report from report to form?

In my case, I want to pass 'gno' and 'qno' values of report
to form. When click on the button then the form is showed.
There are automatically values in gno field on form so that user
don't complete this filed.
So I create a button on the report . I enter Javascript in
PL/SQL Code tab in '...after displaying the footer' as follow :

Date Formatting - Day and Month Switching Places

I am starting to get really frustrated with this problem; at first it was just a nuisance, but now when I actually want and need to do something important with Numbers it has become a major headache.
When I first select a formatting and enter a date it works fine. I enter, e.g., "1 Aug 2009" and Numbers formats it "1 August, 2009" as per my formatting selection. However, when I go to change the formatting to, e.g., "day of week, day month, year" my "1 August 2009" suddenly becomes "Thursday, 8 January, 2009" - it switches the day and month values around! This happens no matter which format I choose, and no matter what I do - whether I enter the day first or month first, American or European - it always switches them around when I go to change the format. It's infuriating!
Does anyone have any suggestions? What am I to do?

I believe the problem is that you have US formats for dates. Select the cells/columns that you want your date format to apply to then click the cell format inspector (the 42 in a box icon) & choose Custom… from the cell format drop-down. You will be presented with a box that allows you to make your own format. Click & hold on any of the little "lozenges" in the input bar & move them around. You may need to add a space to get the proper result.

Can one Crystal Report could contian Current Month, YTD and ITD data?

Hi,
I am trying to build a crystal report and be able to show data in summarized format on single report containing data for the current month, year to date and Inception to date.
The difficulty that I find is the date ranges. Current month date range is different from YTD and ITD date.
what would be the best way to show such data on crystal report? is there a sample report available that can help me to produce such report?

Hey Joe,
if you have CRXI, take a look at the sample reports
Record Selection on Date Range has some good examples
you can do this with multiple Groups
create a formula
in to currentdate
( this group will cover your inception date to currentdate)
second group will be a date group also, select year as your print by option for this group.
3rd group also by date,
select month.
add fields to your details section, select the field, right click and select summary location,
(add to all groups)
you can then supress footers and headers as needed.
