Date Formatting - Day and Month Switching Places

I am starting to get really frustrated with this problem; at first it was just a nuisance, but now when I actually want and need to do something important with Numbers it has become a major headache.
When I first select a formatting and enter a date it works fine. I enter, e.g., "1 Aug 2009" and Numbers formats it "1 August, 2009" as per my formatting selection. However, when I go to change the formatting to, e.g., "day of week, day month, year" my "1 August 2009" suddenly becomes "Thursday, 8 January, 2009" - it switches the day and month values around! This happens no matter which format I choose, and no matter what I do - whether I enter the day first or month first, American or European - it always switches them around when I go to change the format. It's infuriating!
Does anyone have any suggestions? What am I to do?

I believe the problem is that you have US formats for dates. Select the cells/columns that you want your date format to apply to then click the cell format inspector (the 42 in a box icon) & choose Custom… from the cell format drop-down. You will be presented with a box that allows you to make your own format. Click & hold on any of the little "lozenges" in the input bar & move them around. You may need to add a space to get the proper result.

ICal events are missing Day and Month in date

Hello, Sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere - this is such a weird fault I was not sure how to search for it.
My iCal events are missing the Day and Month in their start and end dates - it just shows a 4 digit year which can only be edited as a 4 digit number. All my events are in their correct places but I am unable to create new multiday events.
This applies to old and new events alike. I tried trashing my iCal prefs file but it made no difference.
Anyone any ideas? I am using iCal 3.0.8 on Leopard 10.5.8.

Worked it out - I was using a custom date format to give me day and date in the menu bar - reverting to one of the standard built in 'British' works - but then I lose my day in the menu bar....

Dates showing up as day of the year vs. day and month

hi; on my work imac, for some reason dates are labeled as the number of the year (as in 64 March) vs. the day and month. it happens in Mail and assigning dates to files that were created.
anyone know how to fix this?

Open the International pane of System Preferences, click on Formats, choose Customize to the right of Dates, and correct the formats.

Why do the foreign language Siri voices use English day and month names?

I had picked French (Canada) and was ready to believe that "nous sommes le Sunday, June seize, deux mille treize" was correct in Quebec and Nova Scotia, until I checked in German and Japanese, and all the answers used English day and month names!

Yes, that is exactly how it works. You can quickly switch among keyboards using the Globe key.

Calendar in List view different from Day and Month view

When I look at my Calendar in 'List' view all of the Birthdays and Events are in the wrong date but in 'Day' and 'Month' view they are correct.
Has anybody found a fix for this yet? I have looked at similar discussions but they are all a couple of years old and none seem to have found the solution

It looks like I have found a solution - it is to do with the birthday dates - if you delete the year of any pre-1932 birthdays it solves the problem!

Query for Day and Month Only

I have a table with a date field that I need to query by day
and month only. Basically, if I search for "04/15", the query would
return records whose date includes: 04/15/2006, 04/15/2007,
04/15/2008, etc. How can I do that on SQL Server?

Hello,
Anyone knows how to make the day and date not selectable in
the datefield or date chooser component???
It is possible to make any one day not available, but what i
need is only a single day not selectable..
For example, i can make every tuesdays of a month not
selectable But, i need to make for example the Tuesday 3rd only Not
selectable
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Current date, first day of month, last day of month, current week, current

Hi All,
may be the question will sounds basic for your guys, I am connecting via MDX a cognos reportnet on a BW 3.0B..due to loads of limitations on filtering via MDX on 'business date/time functions' , I would need to create in the infoqueries that are my data sources, the following additionnal objects:
- current date
- first day of current month
- last day of current month
- current week
- current year
I do not want prefiltered infoqueiries but object with these single values so that from reportnet I can have something like: OCALDAY between 'first day of current month' and 'last day of curent month'
Is there standard fonction for this under BW/BEX or if we need to developp functions has nayone some code examples.

Hi,
In universe level if you want implement the requirede functions then you have to write custom sql and if you want to implement them in Reporting level then most of the functions are available to you. e.g. Quarter,Month, Year, Current Date....

Day and Month missing

When I edit an event in iCal i can only see the year and time in the from and to fields or if I try and set a repeating event to a date. Is there a way to get them to show again.

Tenor is a string. The tenor table is used by other reports too and contains tenors in day, month, etc format (e.g. 01-Jan-14, 02-Jan-14, 03-Jan-14, ..., Jan-14, Feb-14, ...).
This is why I was trying to differentiate the 2 "groups" of tenor using length.
Something like:

Can I change the day/date format from US (month day year) to UK (date month year)?

When I view databases through Firefox, the date/day format is set at month, day, year (US style), whereas I need day, month, year, I work in the UK and the "wrong" format is VERY confusing and could lead to errors/mistakes. IE has that format but I don't want to revert to using that.

How to get days and months when two dates are given

Hi All,
I have a requirement where I need to return the number of months and days between given dates.
I dont need to take the year into account as the dates difference is always less than an year
I have 28-jun-2012 and 31-jan-2013 as dates.
I'm working on 10g
when I do select months_between(:a,:b) from dual and provide those dates it gives me 7.09677
I want it to give as 7 months and 9 days or what ever the exact days are.
Your inputs are much appreciated

Use "PROVIDE LOCAL INFORMATION" command as per GSM 11.14. This however queries the handset date and time, and hence depends on the handset clock (which may not always be reliable).

What kind of data are you referring to? And when you say "switched .. to store data on icloud..." are you talking about performing backups to icloud vs. to computer or are you in some app that provides a choice of saving data to icloud or to a computer?
