YTD data eaxtraction.

I am in filtering the data extraction for Jan 2010 only in the applicatioin and in the BI cube only Jan 2010 data exist.
But in the BPC YTD balance report..It is showing the Jan 2010 actual amounts and Feb 2010 amount as inverted amount of Jan 2010.
But when I check the BI/BW cube for BPC there is no amount for Feb 2010.
How to ensure this Feb 2010 amount is not shown in BPC report when such data is not loaded to BPC. Is there some flag or config has to be changed?
Please share your thoughts...

Hi,
The first thing to be considered here is, if the BI cube has only JAN data, then how FEB data was generated. Is there any setting you specified in your transformation or conversion files pertaining to FEB?

  • Current week/current Month/YTD data based on user response

    Hi
    I have one attribute request_created_date
    Based on this i want to create one more attribute which will have lovs as week(Request_created_date for current week),monthly(Request_created_date for current week),
    YTD(Request_created_date for current year to date).
    Now i want to use this new attribute (Having LOV as week/Month/YTD) as a report prompt so that user itself can select whether he wants to see
    week/month/YTD data in report.
    To Add to this :
    Req is something like this if user select week , Req_created_dates should be filtered for all the dates of cureent week.
    Req is something like this if user select month , Req_created_dates should be filtered for all the dates of cureent month.
    Req is something like this if user select Year , Req_created_dates should be filtered for all the dates of cureent year.
    How can i achieve this?

    Add One variable
    Time_Data ="Weekly"
    Create Input control (Radio Button)
    Use Custom LOVs (Add Weekly , Monthly , Yearly ).
    Set Default (Weekly).
    Now Create Another Variable
    User_Want = ReportFilter([Time_Data])
    Now filter your Report for week , Month or Year (as per Selection) using If else Statement .
    For eg.
    For Week
    [Created_Date] Between RelativeDate(CurrenDate();-7) And CurrentDate()
    For Month
    (Year([Created_Date]) = Year(CurrentDate())  And Month([Created_Date]) = Month(CurrentDate()))
    For Year
    (Year([Created_Date]) = Year(CurrentDate())

  • Report Painter YTD data for Balance Sheets accounts

    Dear Gurus,
    I am working on GLPCT report painter table and I would like to setup a report for inventory accounts with YTD data and not only movement on the current year.
    Which parameters (for basic key figures and Characteristics) should I use in order to have the report with 2011YTD data (2011YTD = closing balance 2010 + movements 2011).
    Thanks
    Kind regards,
    Dom

    Hi
    The As on Date balance cant be cumulated...
    Eg; you bought inventory worth 10 million in Current year and as of now you have 4 million worth of inventory in stock
    Cumulated bal in this case is 10 mil and As on Date balance is 4 million... 4 million is what you will get in SAP reports
    The same Key figure which shows values in comp code currency can be used

  • YTD data for PnL Accounts

    Hi All,
    Need some advise on these.
    Our period dimension is Jan-Dec, however, the subsidiaries submit the data only in March, June, September and December.
    We set the DefaultFrequency to MTD, DefaultView to YTD, MissingData0ViewForNonAdj is YTD and MissingData0ViewForAdj is Periodic.
    The data that we load for BS and PnL accounts are all in YTD and we consolidate in YTD (ConsolidateYTD is Yes).
    Now we have situation where one of our entity is sold on December 2010.
    Since the setting zeroview for actual scenario is set to YTD, we are expecting that when we check the december period, the PnL accounts for this entity is in the system with the same amount of september data.
    However, the PnL account show 0 data, even if we select the View to YTD.
    And when we run the consolidation, the PnL data for this entity is not aggregated to the total consol due to the unavailability of the YTD data.
    Is it normal behavior of HFM? Is there any explanation about this?
    Many thanks.
    Regards,
    Indra

    What you see is based on the application design -- specifically the scenario settings. You need to understand the MissingDataAsZero settings. What you describe is the norm for a scenario where these settings are "YTD". That is, you've told HFM to interpret missing data as a YTD zero. In this case, HFM will derive a negative Periodic value in order to arrive at a zero YTD value.
    This is only one of your worries in my opinion. If you have foreign currency entities which only load quarterly rather than monthly, you have a translation problem if you use PVA for flow accounts (app setting) which is the most common configuration. In this case, the P&L accounts loaded only to the last periods of each quarter will use only that period's average rate for all of the activity, rather than the period in which the activity really took place.

  • How to tally P&L YTD data with R/3

    Dear Friends,
    Daily we are loading data 0FI_GL_4 data source to GL cube.
    In GL two types accounts available.
    1.Balance sheet items.
    2.P&L items.
    Balcne sheet items allways carry foward the last years balacne.So my closing balance is tallying with R/3
    But in P&L end of the year R/3 side they close all items with 0 amount. In BW  there is no machanisam for 0 amount.
    so in bw side last year closing balnce is carry foward the current year opening balance.Here closing balance is not tallying with R/3.
    Here users requried YTD of P&L items.
    For example: Balance sheet Account 800040 last year March-09 closing balance is 20,000.And current year APR-09 =2000010000-5000 (opening balcnedebit-credit) 25000 is closing balance of apr-09 i.e in balance sheet.
    But P&L Account 900000 last year March-09 closing balance is 20,000.this closing balance is not carry fowred into current year.i.e in R/3 it is 0 amount.But in bw it shows 20000. accourding to formula APR-09 =2000010000-5000 (opening balcnedebit-credit) 25000 iam getting in BW report..But Accourding to P&L Actual amount is Apr-09= 0+10000-5000 = 5000 apr-09 clsoing balance have get in BW.
    Any idea about P&L tallying with R/3
    Regard
    ramu

    Dear Dennis,
    What your saying that is right.
    Our data is updated by all periods including 13 to 16 periods.
    but p&l data is not following into bw with 0 amount.
    Because in R/3 thay update manually all p&l items to 0 amount.And transfer to retained earnings.
    Is there any setting in r/3 side to update 0 amount in BW?At the end of the year only.
    Regards
    Ramu

  • Loading HX YTD Data for Actuals

    Should my scenario be set to anything specific if I am loading HX YTD values for my income statement, balance sheet and stats and why? We have had some issues with the data loading accurately and have found that the if we load the data month by month it seems to work. However if we load multiple months the numbers seem to carry and mess up months either before or after that month.
    We have set
    Name- Actual
    Def Parent #root
    Def Freq MTD
    Def View YTD
    Zero View for NA Periodic
    Zero View for Adj Periodic
    Consolidate YTD is checked

    This is an unusuall configuration, and one I would not recommend. If you load data YTD, I recommend making both ZeroView settings also YTD. The setting tells HFM that in the absence of a number loaded to an intersection, HFM should interpret the missing number as a YTD zero. In order to do that, HFM will derive a negative Periodic number equal to the prior period's YTD value.
    The only time we see ZeroView set to Periodic is for forecasting/budgeting, where users will enter periodic amounts and they want HFM to assume the lack of a number implies zero on a Periodic basis. In this case, you are asking HFM to bring forward the prior period's YTD amount. This is also predicated on the idea that Actual data should be loaded YTD, to ensure that changes to data in prior periods gets captured - you do not want to reload prior periods.
    It is very important to note that we do not want to load zeros to HFM which is why it is so important to get this setting right.
    One more point: this setting only impacts flow accounts - it has no bearing on balance accounts.

  • Change Periodic data to YTD data

    Hello,
    I have periodic data stored in the system (in Periodic Measure).
    Is there any way to pass the data to accumulated type (changing to YTD Measure)?
    Regards,
    Miguel.

    If your data is in YTD format then you can select so in 'web application parameters'.
    Suppose you are brining actuals data from ECC in YTD format, then you can select the data sources is predefined for YTD format. Some data sources are preconfigured for MTD and some YTD format.
    However if it is merely reporting issue, try the solution suggested by Niranjan.
    if you provide more details I can  try to help as much..

    Hi,
    I am working on an Expense Statement.  I noticed that I had three accounts that has a zero balance April.  When I look at the report with the Measures set to YTD, it displays Zero for April, and it does not carry over the prior's months values.  Here is an example:
    April load values         March YTD        April YTD       APRIL Periodic
    0                                  20,000                0                    0
    0                                  25,000

  • FR : How to change from monthly to YTD or quarter data in the same report

    Hi,
    We have several basic reports with 12 month in columns with monthly figures. We would like to try to improve these reports with 2 options (and not creating new reports):
    - For each month, we would like to choose between monthly & year to date figures. (we do not have a view dimension with YTD member)
    - In our period dimension we also have quarter members. How to choose between displaying month or quarter with the prompts ? (ie without having to select each month one by one)
    Does it is possible to do this with FR without adding a new dimension for monthly or YTD data?
    thanks!
    Tipiak

    Hi Tipiak,
    In order to show YTD Actual figure for the selected month, I was doing something like that
    - Add a hidden col from Jan to Run Time period selected.
    - Add a visible formula col and add the formula showing the total of the hidden col.
    Your requirement seems more complex but you might meet some part as an initial step maybe...

  • Best way to set up a custom table using dates ytd, quarters, months

    Hello-
    I did post this on the crystal forum however it really involves setting up a good structured table in order to get the data to report on which I think we need to change which is why I'm posting here.
    I am not a dba but I work with crystal reports and we are working together to get data in tables that we can report on.  We are in the process of creating a data warehouse, which will mainly be summarized data we are exporting out of our legacy system and importing into a mysql database.  Most of this data will be summarized by month, quarter and year.  We will have multiple years of data.  A lot of the reports we will be creating will be in a comparison manner such as 2009 vs 2008 or Jan this year compared to Jan last year or list out sales by month Jan-Dec 2009.  I would like this data to be easily displayed on a report in a side by side manner.  To get this result, what is the best way to structure the data in the tables on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis?  Right now weu2019ve got one field in the table called date (which is a string) which is listed like:
    Date
    2008YTD
    2009YTD
    2009Jan
    2008Jan
    Is it best to break out the date information so that on the report side it will be easier to work with?  Also should this be set up in the table as a date instead of a string?  If so how do you account for a YTD date?  Are we going to need 2 dates, a start and end date to achieve ytd or qtd information?  Do you recommend creating just a date table and if so how would that be structured?
    So for reporting purposes, using crystal reports, I would like to display comparison data on a report side by side, for this example this year goals compared to last years goals by goal code A-Z (which is a credit code, goals are for the # of credits by code for the year).  The end result I would like is to look like this:
    code   2009 goal   2008 goal
    A        25              20
    B        50              60
    C        10              15
    However the data looks like this (displaying all of the 2009 data first then the 2008 data, not side by side which is how it is in the table):
    code   2009 goal   2008 goal
    A        25
    B        50
    C        10
    etc to Z
    A                          20
    B                          60
    C                          15
    Right now the data is structured in the table like:
    Code  Goal  Date (this is currently a string in the db)
    A        25     YTD 2009
    B        50     YTD 2009
    etc. A-Z for 2009 then:
    A        20      YTD 2008
    B        60      YTD 2008
    Any thoughts on strucuting a table would be appreciated.  thanks.

    Jennifer,
    Most of the DW examples I've seen use a dimDateTime table in the database. That table has multiple columns related to the specific time... For example, here are the columns that are in the, SQL Server sample database, "AdventureWorkdDW"... "DimTime" table
    COLUMN_NAME             COLUMN_INFO
    TimeKey               (int, not null)
    FullDateAlternateKey     (datetime, null)
    DayNumberOfWeek          (tinyint, null)
    EnglishDayNameOfWeek     (nvarchar(10), null)
    SpanishDayNameOfWeek    (nvarchar(10), null)
    FrenchDayNameOfWeek     (nvarchar(10), null)
    DayNumberOfMonth     (tinyint, null)
    DayNumberOfYear          (smallint, null)
    WeekNumberOfYear     (tinyint, null)
    EnglishMonthName     (nvarchar(10), null)
    SpanishMonthName     (nvarchar(10), null)
    FrenchMonthName          (nvarchar(10), null)
    MonthNumberOfYear     (tinyint, null)
    CalendarQuarter          (tinyint, null)
    CalendarYear          (char(4), null)
    CalendarSemester     (tinyint, null)
    FiscalQuarter          tinyint, null)
    FiscalYear          (char(4), null)
    FiscalSemester          (tinyint, null)
    Then all of the fact table receive their date stamps by linking back to this table, using the TimeKey as a foreign key.
    HTH,
    Jason

  • YTD and QTD data in FR------ URGENT

    Hi All,
    We are having are requirement in FR like
    want to display QTD or (and) YTD data in FR report, we don't have separate DIM called View to store QTD and YTD but we assigned Period DIM as DTS and we have QTD and YTD for that (and even they are not the separate members in Period DIM)
    when we extract data in Addin there we can have Y-T-D(Aug) or Q-T-D(Aug) which will give the result of YTD of AUG... can we have such kind of data in HFR also??
    this is really urgent issue, can any one help me in this....

  • Data loaded at YTD, but showing Periodic in HFM until re-Export, then YTD

    We are using FDM 11.1.2.1 (FM11X-G5-E Target adapter) to load YTD data to HFM 11.1.2.1. The "View" dimension in FDM is set to YTD and we don't have any other custom event or calculation scripting happening. Also confirmed the source file values are YTD, as well as the value in Export grid in FDM and the .dat files in the Outbox.
    When we then view the data in an HFM grid or SmartView, many times it displays as Periodic even though the View is set to YTD. We've double checked many HFM settings (UsePVAForFlowAccounts=Y, ZeroViewForNonadj = YTD, ZeroViewForAdj = YTD, ConsolidateYTD = Y, DefFreqForICTrans = Y), and ensured we are consolidating with View = YTD. I can even drill through to FDM on the Periodic value and see the correct YTD value for that POV in FDM.
    Now the strange part: If we then simply re-run Export in FDM, and refresh the grid/SmartView for the same POV, the balance is now showing the correct YTD value. It's seems to show up randomly for different data sources, at different times, and this fix always works. It's almost as if the Periodic value or setting is "stuck", and then gets fixed after another Export from FDM.
    However, the client's long term future process cannot be "re-Export each monthly load twice". Not sure if anyone has encountered this and if it's a result of FDM, HFM, backend DB, patching, metadata, etc. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Yes, I know [YEAR]. I meant, I have never noticed data entry allowed on [YEAR].
    Is the accounts properly intersected with custom dimensions? i.e the Account property of TopCustom1Member,TopCustom2Member...etc. If that is not set then, accounts will not have valid intersection with Customs and you can not enter data.
    Secondly., What is the default frequency for the scenario you are selecting? MTD? Are you looking at a month in Period (Jan/Feb etc) or at Q1/Q2 level?

  • Single Date Parameter, but using a date range for selection

    Post Author: fireman204
    CA Forum: Formula
    I'm fairly new to Crystal Reports, so be gentle with me.  I have a report that has 4 parameters.  The report asks for data for a specific month, the YTD data to the end of the selected month, and the same data from the previous year.  It seems there should be a way to enter a single parameter (ie., 2007-4-1), and off that date select all the data for the month, the current year to the end of that month, and then the data from the previous year for the same period.  I know this will be a formula field needed to select the data, but not sure how to get there from here.  Any ideas?  Thanks in advance!

    Post Author: SKodidine
    CA Forum: Formula
    It should be possible for you to create just one parameter to have the user input a single date and then create formulae to create the begin and end dates for the month, YTD and PYTD.  You can then use these formulae for record selection criteria.
    For example, if the user inputs a date of 2007-04-01 for the single parameter then create formulae such as:
    beginmonth
    datevar beginmonth;
    beginmonth := date(year({?My Parameter}),month({?My Parameter}),01);
    endmonth
    datevar endmonth;
    endmonth := cdLastDayOfMonth ({?My Parameter});
    To use the cdlastdayofmonth function, In the formula workshop window, click on "Repository Custom Functions" then under CRYSTAL and DATE right click on cdlastdayofmonth and click on ADD TO REPORT.  Once that is done, then create the above "endmonth" formula.  You should see this new function in your formula workshop window in the FUNCTIONS window under CUSTOM FUNCTIONS.
    beginytd
    datevar beginytd := date(year(currentdate),01,01);
    endytd
    datevar endytd;
    endytd := cdLastDayOfMonth ({?My Parameter});
    beginpytd
    datevar beginpytd := date((year(currentdate)-1),01,01);
    endpytd
    evaluateafter({@endytd});
    datevar endytd;
    datevar endpytd;
    endpytd := date(year(endytd)-1,month(endytd),day(endytd));
    In your record selection criteria, you can use the above formulae like this:
    in {@beginmonth} to {@endmonth}
    or
    in {@beginytd} to {@endytd}
    or
    in {@beginpytd} to {@endpytd};
    This is one way of doing it, perhaps others might pitch in with a more efficient way.

  • BPC 7.5NW Report Issues When Requesting Year To Date Data

    Dynamic reports built with 2 row expansions (Cost Ctr, Account) up to 3 columns (not expansions, set to different categories with excel formulas for variance calculations...Act vs. Bud for example) result in error messages (error retrieving data and another related error messge) when requesting YTD data vs. Periodic data.  The report runs fast and properly with Periodic measure.  When running with the YTD measure, attempts to reduce the report data volume by removing comparative categories and removing formatting (after ranges) still results in YTD data retrieve errors.
    Has anyone else had similar issues with BPC 7.5NW, SP9, and YTD data not pulling into reports?  What are the common causes for issues with YTD data retrieval?  Given the design by SAP of the BPC NW product and promotion of using BPC for both Periodic and YTD data, should I expect this report to work properly, meaning that I can get output with YTD data without long runtimes or errors that result in terminating the report?  Thank you.
