Z30 Phone Dialing Delay

When using the dial pad on the phone, there is quite a delay between when I select a number and when it registers on the phone. That creates problems when I'm dialing because I can't tell if it's just being slow or I missed the dial pad for some reason. It wasn't always like this, so I am wondering if this is related to a software update. Does anyone else have this issue? Brad

Hi Guys,
To be honest, i havent searched a lot about this to see others opinions... but did anyone using the Z30 felt the huge difference in the phone dialer?
the dialer doesnt suggest the contact as you start typing.
i understand it is not the same as when using the QWERTY physical keyboard... but this feature should not be a technical big deal, expecially that others have it... i always thought it would be even a much better experience with Blackberry devices having virtual keyboards... turned not to be!
hope OS 10.3 carries a solution for this...

IPhone 5S lost voicemail and when I tap vm icon the phone diales voicemail and gets busy signal. No other options show.

started yesterday. No voice mail at all. When I tap the voice mail icon the phone immediately dials some number and that number rings busy. I can't select anything else. Using Virgin mobile/ I am stumped.
I have already tried a soft boot... power and home button....

Other than changing the SIM card, you don't mention any troubleshooting you did with your phone.
If you haven't already, try the following steps as needed:
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Setting.
Reset phone - press both home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo appears.
Restore phone in iTunes using a backup
Restore in iTunes as a new iPhone
IF the last step doesn't fix it, there is a hardware problem and you should make an appt. with an Apple Store Genius Bar. The fact that you haven't dropped the phone by no means rules out hardware issues.

Is it possible to edit a number in the phone dial keypad or we have to wait till iOS 12?

I use an iPhone 5c and and i've been waiting for a cursor on the dial pad after every iOS update since I started using an iPhone.
one most annoying thing is realising you omitted a number from a long phone number or a recharge code, you have to clear all and start again.
Check the image below, If you want to insert the number 2, you'll have to clear everything, and start all over.
One more thing is number suggestion or smart dialling; if I wanna call 'Joe' in my contacts, shouldn't I be able to press 5-6-3 to get names suggestions within that number combinations?
Why does Apple want to wait for iOS 12 to do this? Do they ever check other phone OS? I love iPhone but sometimes its hard we have to wait for two years before they introduce some simple feature that already existed.
Just because they're focusing on new groundbreaking features doesn't mean they can't make that possible?
We know its impossible for Apple to put FM radio in the iPhone because they want to sell the iPhone 8 with a new fm radio feature; but a better dial keypad, come on!! Make some upgrade.
My question here is... is it possible for Apple to make the phone dial pad editable aside Copy/Paste options or make it suggest names when u start dialling; or is there a Setting I need to change to make that possible?

I see you didn't comment on editing the numbers in the keypad, I believe you have that problem too but you forgot to click "I have this question too".
By the way I've sent a couple feedback messages to Apple already and thanks for reminding me, I guess I'll have to be doing that more often.

Unable to get Phone Dialer working

Hello everyone,
I have setup a brand new client. And I am unable to get the dialer working correctly.
I have followed the directions here: Re: The Top10 most frequently asked questions and answers (FAQ) January 2009
- Telephony service is started
- Windows XP Phone and Modem settings correctly configured
- Phone Dialer does work and does show the progress of the "manual" test call
- Phone Dialer is running and minimized
- SAP/b1 General Settings/Service is setup with an area code.. nothing needed for an outside line
When I pull up a Business Partner and hover over a phone number, I hit CTRL+TAB and nothing happens... the next field is just highlighted and no dialing occurs.
Any thoughts as to what I'm missing to get this working correctly?

Finally got this working. Please setup your dialer using these directions;
- Telephony service is started
- Windows Phone and Modem settings correctly configured with any required settings like area code or country
- Run Phone Dialer (dialer.exe) and confirm it does work and does show the progress of a "manual" test call
- Change SAP/b1 General Settings/"Service" is setup with an area code.. and outside line requirements
Open SAP/b1 and hover your cursor over a phone number. When the "phone" icon is displayed, press "CTRL + double-click".
The dialer should open and you should see the progres of your call.

Linking to a phone dialer in Muse

In the new videos about how to create mobile versions of your site, both instructors show that you can add a "click to call" feature to the phone number. This allows the person visiting the site to just tap on the phone number to bring up the phone's dialer. However, neither one shows how to do this. I've looked in the links menu and there is no option for a phone dialer (and yes, I'm in the phone version of the editor). How do I do this?

I am having trouble with this myself. I thought it was a matter of just simply putting the phone number 555-555-5555 into the links bar where it says "add or filter links".
So I highlighted some text and linked it to that number..
But that did not work, as i tested it out on my mobile.
so then I tried to enter this into the links bar: mobile: 555-555-5555.
That did not work either.
I know for the text feature you put in "sms: 555-555-5555" and that does work.
So I am lost as well.

Anyway to disable Smart Dialing and add Edit before dial in phone dialer

Is there any way to disable Smart Dialing in OS 10.2, my old BB with OS 7 can set the country code to "null"
The feature is annoying as in Greater China, we have have 1 sim card with 4 nnumber for HK, China, Taiwan and Macau all with different country code. The smart dialer alway add the country code to the phone number and call dial unsucessful.
Also in old OS 7 it allow edit before dial, but in OS10.2 I can never edit a phone number after paste in phone dialer, since here we always need to change country code, area code, add a "+" etc

I would suggest what you mentioned as blackberry can support multiple numbers in one contact, so you would only have one contact for say John Smith... but a contact for in country and out of country. Aside from that, I dont believe there has been an app developed for this specific issue.

I have a love/hate relationship with my 8330. I love it but it is so frustrating. I would like to use the letter shortcuts but I can't figure out how to turn off whatever it is in "phone dialer." I don't know where phone dialer is. EVERY key seems to go to address book.
I watched the tutorial and I even bought a book but I am still tearing my hair half the time.

Green key, then from the phone screen, menu key, select options, general options. Scroll down to dial from home screen
This gets you dial from the home screen.
Back to the same path to Phone options, general options, phone list views, can be set to "name".
This lets you type "R" and get users starting with "R".

My phone dials and hangs up on people while talking. i need the screen to lock while using it

my phone dials numbers and trys to face time while using phone.i want screen to lock while on phone. it never used to do this until i had screen replaced.

I have since discovered the "hold down home key and power button" together for a few seconds and this seems to have worked .... phew!

Today I got a call from a friend who said she had I missed call from me. I thought I must of dialed her by mistake but she did not show up in my call log history. Is there an issue with my call log or is my phone dialing people on its own?

Hi, I'm having the same problem too.....a call button that doesn't respond....calling the first contact in contact folder and phone log.....call screen keeps popping up over other apps that are runnning, example messenger,browser ect., ect. to prevent the phone from initiating a call I have to activate the screen lock...doing this I can see the screen light up whenever it's trying to make out the call....I've battrey pull, wipe and wipe and wipe....with both JL CMDER and BMCP...I've loaded OS'es from 4.7 to 5.0.0.973 (bundle 1611, platform 4.2.0.423) this was done yesterday at about 11am....I've not loaded my contact list as yet, 1:46am, but the screen keeps lighting up to the empty contact list....this started happening a couple of hours less than one week today.....I'm just...... frustrated....

Would like a phone dialer app similar to the HTC touch flo where you DONT HAVE TO HOLD the "speed key" simply assigning a phone number to
a dial pad, tap it and you call- no need to hold for a the two seconds.
You can leave the card up all the time, flip to it and then tap a number and it calls. HTC has this where I can load a picture there of the person
or an icon- I dont need that but one touch without holding it down is a must for me.

Voice and IP Phone response delay

All,
We are experiencing an issue with voice delay and even phone response delay during the beginning of a call. When a user picks up the phone there is a noticeable delay before any audio is actually heard (2-5 seconds). Users also complain that they are unable to answer the call, meaning they hit the speaker phone button on the phone but it doesn't repond for a few seconds.
There is an ASA (version 8.4(3)) that is in between the call managers and the remote locations with the IP phones.
I have already checked QoS from the CUCM all the way to the remote end. It is good. I have also not found any packet loss over my network or the carrier network. I do not have access to the data center or the ASA. I currently have the people responsbile trying to prove out their side but I need some ideas on possible problems? Also, has anyone else experienced this and if so what was the problem and the fix?

Update: The problem does not present itself on every call, when it does happen I see multiple packet retransmissions in wireshark.

The next step I would reocmmend is to run a Wireshark at both the phone and the CUCM node to which the phone is registered. This would let you see what happens: is the packet lost, arriving too late, corrupted, fragmented, etc.

The ASA code is capable of doing Layer 7 inspection/manipulation of the SCCP traffic. It could have a bug where it doesn't understand the newer SCCP version or it could be rate limiting the connections to each CUCM server.
Another possibility is that there is traffic shaping somewhere which is delaying delivery of the packets. Again, seeing both sides is probably your best next bet.

Hard to say for sure but i'm afraid i don't think that you'll find a solution for this while having a password on your phone.
I just tested here with my SmartWatch 2 and i can browse my contacts and place a call using my SmartWatch 2 without entering my PIN so that works.

Your primary problem seems to be that the subscription you purchase is not recognized in your mobile app.
Are you signing in with the very same account on the Skype web account page and on your mobile phone? Can you please also share which mobile platform you are using (Android, Windows Phone, iPhone)?
Did you try placing the call from Skype on your computer?
