Zbook 15 hangs or crashes after sleep
The same problem here with my Zbook 15 with temporary solution described here: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware/VIDEO-SCHEDULER-INTERNAL-ERROR-BSOD-Windows-10-Zbook-15/m-p/5203527 Some additional info from other user found on onternet:http://druss.co/2015/08/windows-10-video_scheduler_internal_error-after-wake-up/ Latest (17-08-2015) BIOS and drivers doesn't solve problem. I didn't found any official information from HP support referring to the reported error. Is HP technical support aware of the existing problem?
Computer enter properly sleep and hibernation mode. Once again described problems : The problem concerns the Windows 10 upgrade and new Windows 10 installation as well with up to date drivers from HP website. You can easily reproduce the error on a Zbook 15 Product number: F0U59EA#AKD Product Name: ZBOOK 15Product number: F0U59EA#AKDOperating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit) [both - upgrade form windows 8.1 and fresh installation] Problem 1: BSOD VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR after system wake up from sleep mode. Problem 2:Black screen after wake up from sleep mode or during system IDLE. Sometimes only mouse cursor appear. OS: Windows 10 Pro x64 / Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB x64Model: Zbook 15, Zbook 17Product number: F0U59EA#AKDBIOS Version: 01.33 Rev.A (29 Jul 2015)Intel Video Driver: 4248 Rev.FNVIDIA Video Driver: 353.30 Rev.FUp to date official HP drivers It seems for me that BSOD is releated to hybrid graphic. The same problem is described by many HP ZBOOK users around internet, including HP support forum. BSOD occured after clean OS install as well. QUESTIONS to HP support:1. Is HP already working on a solution?2. It's BIOS or drivers releated bug?3. When can we expect an BIOS or/and Drivers update to address this serious problem?4. Temporary solution is available?

Mac Keeps Crashing after sleep
I have a brand new iMac.
It works perfectly, except that it crashes after waking it from sleep. Not always, but frequently enough to be quite annoying. I initially thought this was due to network hardware I had installed for a network storage drive, but I have since uninstalled it, and it did not fix the problem.
I will wake if from sleep, it will work for about 30 seconds, then the screen will turn pink (or white, or gray) and it will freeze. Sometimes this will happen when I have pressed no keys. Sometimes this will happen when I go to start a program.
I called the support line, and they had me do a hardware reset (holding Command, Option, P, R while starting.) But this did not fix the problem.
If I set my computer never to sleep, I have no problems.
I am trying to avoid bringing my iMac back to the Apple store. I read a post once where a person said this occurred because of a wireless router problem. Has anyone heard of this as a cause? I am using a Lynksys, but was thinking of getting Apple's Time Capsule anyway, and will do so now if this would fix the problem. Does anyone know if this might fix the problem?
If it is any help, this is the error message I always get in Console Messages:
12/19/10 11:05:10 AM apsd-ft[146] <APSCourier: 0x100609db0>: Stream error occurred for <APSTCPStream: 0x102f02bf0>: Error Domain=NSPOSIXErrorDomain Code=57 UserInfo=0x102f01480 "The operation couldn’t be completed. Socket is not connected"

Any advise appreciated, thanks.
-LeeI could not find any kernal panics in the console list, but I did figure out the problem.
Apparently, network storage devices can be problematic if the iMac sleeps, and they do not support sleep. I have since purchased a Time Capsule as my router, and now have my network storage device plugged into this. Actually, my router could have been the problem also, as it does also serve as network storage.
For anyone who reads this who has problems with the iMac crashing after sleep, consider what network storage devices might be connected.

Desktop computer crashes after sleep mode since upgrade to Snow Leopard
Since I upgraded my power Mac to Snow Leopard in December, I've had nothing but problems, all of which appear to stem from when it comes out of sleep mode. This computer and all applications were rock solid in Leopard! I also have a mac book running identical programs and that IS rock solid on Snow Leopard. I have a 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon processor with 10 GB ram.
I did a complete re-install of SL and all programs as per the Apple instructions.
Basically, the computer crashes after sleep mode. I've tried all the fixes I've read on the net. Here is the report thread from the last crash. Does it mean anything or throw any light on the problem to anyone?
Thanks,
David Wright

The problem has been identified as the RME fireface400 audio driver. I've spent some considerable time experimenting to identify the culprit. It's clear that this is what is causing all my problems since Snow Leopard. Whether it's exclusively the drivers fault or partly also due to a conflict with apple SL, I don't know, but I have crash reports if apple want to see them.
From your first post, it appears you are using Fireface audio driver version 2.64. RME released a new Snow Leopard compatible driver (version 2.65) last December. It is available at RME: Downloads. (There is also a firmware updater for the Fireface 400 there, which you might want to check out.)
It isn't at all unusual for a new OS version to require new drivers for third party hardware. References to this can be found all over the web, in "read me" files & other documentation, etc. -- it doesn't just apply to OS X but to Windows & other OS's as well. (One of the biggest problems with Vista was poor third party driver support.) In fact, the X-Lab "Resolving Kernel Panics" article specifically cautions users to make sure all such drivers are current. See section 6.1 of that article for more details.
I don't know if you missed all this somehow, but if you haven't already downloaded & installed the new RME driver (& possibly the firmware update as well), then do so now. While you are at it, check for other similar updates for any other third party hardware devices you use, using the info in section 6.1 of the X-Lab article as a guide.
Hopefully, this will resolve your issue, which (as already mentioned) is kernel panics, not crashes. If you still have problems, post more about them, being mindful of the difference between application crashes & kernel panics. Because they are fundamentally different, they have different cures, so we will need to know which type they are to offer effective help. -
Crashing after sleep...
Hi all,
Leopard installed without issue.
Unfortunately, since installing my computer crashes after it's been asleep.
I have a new iMac with 2 gig of RAM.
I have hooked up a backup drive to use time-machine.
This doesn't appear to be the problem.
Here is the error:

Can anyone help?
Thanks
SteveHi there,
Same for me. After falling into a deep sleep the old iMac G5 refuses to go sleep without the fans coming on and scaring my 18 month old son from the resulting noise! I dont know where to start resolving the issue. I also have a Logitech mouse and am going to try new drivers but do dont hold out much hope for that one. My start up times have drastically diminished from when I clean installed Leopard and Safari is playing up now too. Crikey and I was enjoying this new cat too!! Any ideas anyone? I will try Apple care tomorrow and just hope they will send me a new iMac for all my woes and strife! -
Mac Pro 2008 always crash after sleep and after first start
Hello, new in the forum,
2 years ago, I replaced the main disk of a Mac Pro 2008 for a SSD Samsung 470 256 Go.
Until then, it always crashed 1 or 5 minutes after sleep mode (which I didn't used much), and not always 10 to 15 minutes after the first start of the day.
No matter if I was working on it or not… Suitcase installed or not (no font problem here). Rest of the day was fine (if no sleep !).
The difference of speed was so big and "good" that I dealed with it. I though that the Mac Pro was a little old for the SSD technology, and that Apple would fix it, with chance…
2 weeks ago, I installed Maverick :
I got crashs during the work flow too. I needed to re-start 3 times at least… Re-start without extension was ok (or not), re-start, crash, re-start without extension, restart ok. I used Onyx, did PRAM too. And sometimes, I needed to re-install Maverick or even to do a clean-install !
So I suspected the Samsung 470 for all (sleep and work crashs) and replaced it for a Samsung 840 Pro 512 Go.
And the Mac Pro returned to Mountain Lion.
Not really better : no crash one day (yeeeees!) and crash after the first start the next day (nooooo!). Every time I tested sleep mode, it crashed.
My system :
Mac Pro 3.1 - 2,8 GHz - Quad
Mountain Lion, 10 Go ram DDR2, ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT, 30' cinema display.
Adobe CS5 alone (minimal install) with Onyx to repair after each crash.
Could it be the video card, the mother board, the age of the boy ?
Thanks a lot !
Christophe SEdit !
I said that Finder and apps were blocked after 10 seconds (without extension).
But it was to clic on Launchpad that blocked all, and 5 minutes later it works again.
I did clic again on Launchpad, it blocked and 2 minutes later it appeared full screen but with rainbow circle, and quit.
- Restarted with extensions. Kernel panic!
- Restarted the mac and the grey screen with Apple blocked, without any mouse this time. 15 minutes later, still blocked.
- Forced restart without extension. Here are the reports of Kernel Panic and EtreCheck:

Hello,
Since I've updated to Tiger, the system always crashes after getting back from sleep mode, upon trying to use Firefox or Thunderbird. I can't even restart using alt-apple-esc and will have to use the power button.
Has anyone experienced the same problem? Does anyone know a solution to that problem?
Thanks a lot in advance!!
Additional info:
I'm using airport to connect to the internet (DSL connection with a Zyxel Prestige 600 Router).
Firefox 1.5.0.2; Thunderbird 1.5; Norton Internet Security 3.0
imac g5 Mac OS X (10.4.6)Hi Pat,
just checked. Firefox is running java 0.9.5
Then you're OK with that...
However upon checking the java version on my mac, I got the following answer: "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: version".
What does that mean? How to fix it?
However, there's something wrong with your Java installation:
A NoClassDefFoundError is thrown when a classloader or the Java Virtual Machine tries to load a class and no definition of the class can be found. This could happen when using the new expression or during a normal method call. The reason this would occur at runtime is because the missing class definition existed when the currently executing class was compiled, but now that definition cannot be found.
If that sounds to geeky, then just check (via Software Update) if you're running the latest version of Java or if there's an update waiting to be installed in your system
Did you notice any other problematic Java-related behaviour?
Safari runs OK?
Did you take all the appropriate steps before upgrading to 10.4.6? What version have you been runnig before 10.4.6?
Macs running 9.x, Macs running 10.4.x and SGI workstations running Irix 6.5.x -
I love my system with Tiger 10.4.7 ,
except it always freezes after SLEEP ,
so I have to set it NOT TO SLEEP ,
which I would rather NOT do.
?? WHA'S UP ??
?? Anyone have THE solution ??

Macbook Pro 15, Mid 2010 - crash after sleep
I'm using OSX 10.9.4. Every time my macbook pro wakes up from sleep (either on batter or charger, with or without external screen) it reboots. Usually, I'm presented with username/password dialog. As soon as I type in my password and screen unlocks, osx reboots. I am using FileVault and I did change HD to SSD few years back. Some people suggested here on forum to turn off "Put hard disk on sleep when possible" in Energy Saver settings. I tried that, but it didn't work.
Thanks.
Here is my crash report

Thunderbolt Bus:The panic is not caused by software. You have the MacBookPro6,2—the Edsel of Macs. It may have the logic-board defect that was covered by this recall.
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider, to have the machine tested. The routine hardware diagnostics used by service providers do not detect the fault. There is a specific test for this issue that Apple calls "VST" (for "Video Switching Test.") Ask for it. A "Failed" result means that the fault is present. However, according to reports, some units may pass the test, and yet still be deemed eligible for repair under the program. Your experience may vary.
Print the first page of the panic report, if any, and the support page linked above, and bring them with you.
Note that the recall only applies within three years of purchase. After that, Apple may refuse the service. In that case, you may be quoted a price of about $300 (in the U.S.) for a "depot repair," which involves shipping the unit to a central repair facility and takes about two weeks. For that flat fee, anything found wrong with it should be fixed, not just the logic board.
The model was discontinued on February 24, 2011, so the recall has nominally ended. Some units may have been sold after that date by Apple as refurbished, or by resellers as new, and they might still be covered.
Some owners report that their unit was repaired under the program after the deadline had passed. Others report that the repair was covered by the extended warranty from a credit-card issuer. Again, your experience may vary.
Sometimes the replacement part is also defective, so be prepared for that possibility. If you decide to pay for a new logic board, test thoroughly during the 90-day warranty period on the repair. Some owners have reported that they went through as many as three replacement boards before getting one that worked.
If it's too late for your unit to be repaired free of charge, and you don't want to pay for the service, you may (or may not) be able to stop the panics by disabling automatic graphics switching. To use the discrete graphics processor, you'll need a third-party utility to switch to it manually.
Often the problems start after an OS upgrade. If the upgrade was recent, and you have backups, then you can revert to a previous OS X version.
If you're dissatisfied with Apple's response, please keep in mind that no one here represents the company or can help with customer-service issues.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed. -
Hangs and Crashes After migrating to Yosemite
After a Late 2009 iMac graphics card failure, I purchased a 5K which came with Yosemite pre-installed. I then used migration assistant to move everything from a bootable clone of the old system made using Carbon Copy Cloner.
Everything went well, but I've had strange problems ever since. Applications seem to hang for 30sec - 1 min upon launch sometimes. Calling the print menu from an application will cause a 30 sec - 1 min beach ball. But the second time, it's fast. I've had 4 system crashes in the past week and myriad application crashes.
Problem is, nothing seems to be very consistent. The console is flooded w/ various error messages, but I'm having trouble deciphering them.
Recently, I tried updating some apps via the app store in the hope that it would help. I noticed that whenever I selected the install button for an app, I get the following error message a 5 second intervals:
1/9/15 7:04:13.702 PM pkd[243]: FCIsAppAllowedToLaunchExt [343] -- *** _FCMIGAppCanLaunch timed out. Returning false.

I ran "Verify Disk" on the system drive (onine) and it reported no problems. I've repaired permissions as well. I welcome any guidance on how to troubleshoot further. These are only two of the many and voluminous log entries. The warranty entitles you to complimentary phone support for the first 90 days of ownership.
If you bought the product in the U.S. directly from Apple (not from a reseller), you have 14 days from the date of delivery in which to exchange or return it for a refund. In other countries, the return policy may be different. If you bought from a reseller, its return policy applies. -
Mbp 10.6.8 crash after sleep
Hello all,
I recently installed 10.6.8 on a new SSD via usb, and after testing it for about a month and adding a few apps and files, I dropped it into a 2006 macbook pro. Previously the mbp was running 10.4x. Now, with the drive installed, when the computer wakes from sleep it freezes. Not an application, but the computer itself, or rather all the software running. For now, I have sleep disabled for the HD, with no problems, but it would be nice to put this guy to sleep sometimes. I've wasted a few days looking for answers online, but haven't found anything specifically about this, so I'm turning here for answers. I guess I should say I've tried the usual approaches, disk utility, reset pram, smc, and a few other things listed on this site for similar problems (safe boot, disable sharing) to no avail. Thanks in advance for anything you might be able to offer in terms of advice. No responses here, but I did manage to find the culprit, a pci card which apparently disrupts osx10.6.8's sleep. It was never a problem with earlier osxes and I'd pretty much forgotten the card was in there. Maybe this will help someone else.

Flex 2 15 crashing after Sleep Mode
I have a Flex 2 15. Recently I will put it in sleep mode and it will turn off at some point while in sleep. The computer has to be powered on fresh boot to turn back on. I checked the event log and it says 0x0000000009f was an issue and windows boots saying a serious issue caused a crash. Ive tried updating the video card drivers and any drivers I could find, still no resolution.
hi Apad121,
Welcome to the Forums.
If the DVD drive is missing or not detected in the BIOS then this is a sign that the drive is either not physically connected into the machine or is malfunctioning. It could have been just a coincidence but it's likely that there's a hardware problem going on (either the drive itself or its connection to the motherboard).
If you have experience in laptop disassembly, you can reseat the DVD drive by following page 36 of the HMM or see the guide below: Otherwise, I recommend you contact lenovo and report your findings as you may need to get the unit serviced.

Late 2013 15" macbook pro, uploaded to yosemite, now crashes after sleep
Hey All,
I've tried the PRAM and SMC resets. I've also run disk utility. It doesn't always happen right away...but sooner or later after waking from sleep I will get a beach ball, massive slow downs, and eventual lock up. This does not occur in safe mode. This is driving me nuts. Please help

Macbook pro 13" crash after sleep
Hi all,
Yesterday i installed Yosimite and all seemed to be fine. After using my computer i closed the lid (sleepmode) and opened it up this morning (in the train-so no wifi) it was all really slow and after a while everything was frozen. I forced a shutdown and tried to restart but now i get a grey startup screen, grey apple logo and a black loading bar that does not go further than 45%.
I have a late 2009 macbook pro 13", 8gig ram, 250 SSD HDD.
When i installed Yosimite it said that the TRIMM enabler software (that i installed for my SSD) was incompatible with the new OS, and was placed in a special folder. Does that might have anything to do with it?
Should i use my backup?
Thanks!Do you have Air Display installed?

[SOLVED] xmodmap hangs and crashes after update
UPDATE: See pabloc's post for a solution. keyboard plugin of gnome-settings-daemon was overriding Xmodmap bindings.
After a pacman -Syu today, ~/.Xmodmap is no longer being loaded on login. Running `xmodmap ~/.Xmodmap` in a terminal window causes the entire DE (Cinnamon) to freeze, and it fixes itself after a minute or so (terminal window closes).
Here is my ~/.xinitrc
#!/bin/sh
if [ -f $HOME/.Xmodmap ]; then
/usr/bin/xmodmap $HOME/.Xmodmap
fi
exec gnome-session-cinnamon
I haven't modified ~/.Xmodmap recently, and it was working fine prior to the update. The only modifications are swapping of the PgUp/PgDn keys with Home/End because ThinkPads have them in a weird spot.

Last edited by dtomasiewicz (2012-11-20 20:11:06)I've done a bit more playing around with this. It seems running xmodmap ~/.Xmodmap does work, it's just very slow and CPU-hungry. Reducing my .Xmodmap file to include only the overrides (4 of them) allows it to complete in about a second.
However, it's still not being loaded on login, despite being in .xinitrc. In order to get my keybinds to work in a program, I need to open a terminal, run xmodmap manually, then execute whatever program I want them to work in.
I tried downgrading xf86-input-evdev but my keyboard no longer worked on boot, once the display manager appeared (and I couldn't switch TTYs with Ctrl+Shift+F*).
