Zen microphoto but without an installation

Hey everyone. Here's my story. I bought an 8 GB zen microphoto at cambridge soundworks for only 50 bucks because it was a store model. The only downside was that I didn't get instructions or the installation cd. Though I do know about zens (I previoiusly owned a 6 GB zen micro). I also tried to download firmware for it but that did not help because the mediasource didnt recognize my zen microphoto. Any suggestions? I bought the 2 year warranty as well. Do you think Creative would send me an installation cd? Thankyou.

I have tried to download the firmware from creative's website. Everytime I do, it does not recognize that i have a zen microphoto connected. I have 2 usb plugs for the zen microphoto and nothing seems to work. My computer recognizes I have a zen microphoto connected and allows me to add music and photos by going into 'my computer'. This is however taking up more space than it should.

A good friend gave me a black 5G and I do enjoy it, but I'm in the process of ditching Apple products. lately I've come to the conclusion that buying music via the ITMS or any other online music store is a complete waste of money given all the lousy DRM restrictions. Apple in particular annoys me because all the music I bought is locked to using Apple hardware unless I burn to CD and re-rip to another format which causes degradation in audio quality. Another thing that irks me about Apple is they charge this outrageous premium for outdated technology. No FM Tuner, pathetic battery life and the use of delicate, scratch-prone material that an entire industry has been created to remedy lead me to dislike Apple very much. Lets not forget idiotic design flaws like forcing the customer to send the iPod in for battery replacment which they are all too happy to do for alot of $$$.

i have a zen microphoto and let me just say: Ditching ipod.... IS A SMART MOVE !!
Zen microphoto is, of course, in color and has a battery simular to a cell phone battery, so you can handle it, charge it, and replace it whenever you want, or buy extras for long play (i have 2 batteries so when one dies on a long trip, i can switch the second one in seconds)
do you use itunes? GREAT!!! i like my music loud, so i turn the equalizer on itunes all the way up. and to add to that, zen microphoto has its own equalizer that you can set by yourself and choose how high the sound bars go!! with both itune's and zen's equalizer up, you can have a crystal-clear boom of music.
zen has great sound. better than ipods if you use after market earphones because stock ones suck on both ipod and zen (they sound the same with stock phones). zen can go way louder than ipods and be clearer.
the 8GB you ask? as a graduate of M. I. T, im gonna tell you right now that it is not possible for any type of player to have over 5GB and have flash memory. this is for reasons being that if you had a gigantic chip like that, it would be extreemly unstable and fragile. thats why hard dri'ves are made. a hard dri've for mp3 players allows them to hold tremendously more memory and still be very tough and small, since it uses a spining magnet that will virtually last forever. flash dri'ves can loose maximum memory after use and degrade faster than anything over time like "polaroid pictures"?
I would highly suggest a microphoto over any ipod because of the toughness of the model (it is highly scratch-proof and fingerprint proof, unlike ipods). it wont break umless you are extreem with it (wetting it alot, droping it constantly, ect.) its basicly a better player for the same price as an ipod nano. plus, an ipod nano does not even have replacable batteries, nor does it have a radio like the microphoto. to add to that, microphotos are beautiful and have a bigger screen and better quality zoom-in capable pictures and auto focus.
this device is the perfect mp3 player if you want a mini sized, high memory player with the great support of creative guarding your back and worth way more than your charged for an innovation like this. had mine for 3 months now.
PS: if your smart, you wont update the firmware, as this is gambling with your players usability or any mp3 player for that matter. im superb on the one it came with.

Zen Microphoto usage without installat

I was wondering, I am going to be taking my Zen Microphoto over to Europe soon. I was wondering if i HAVE to install the CD I got with it to access my files and upload pictures and such. I was planning on storing all of my digital pictures on this player, so since in most internet cafe's and such your not allowed to install software, I want to just be able to plug my usb cables in, and use explorer to upload files. Is this possible?

My bad, I misread the post as you were having Zen Micro. Firmware version .20.0 is PlayForSure supported for the Zen MicroPhoto. Did you installed the Zen MicroPhoto Media Explorer in your computer now? If you did, go to the Media Explorer, Settings and Information menu. There's a option in there "Show device in My Computer". Enable that and you should be able to see the device listed in My Computer.

Zen Microphoto with Microsoft 2000

Unfortunately I got a Zen Microphoto but my PC is running on Microsoft 2000.
The only computer I have is a computer from my office (laptop) and by some reasons it is running on Microsoft 2000 (Professional version 5.0 Service Pack 4) and there is no plan to upgrate it to XP.
It seems that Zen Microphoto require XP when I am running the installation. Is there any way to go around the problem??
I can store music in MP3 and the problem how to move the files to the ZEN

Im also quite sad, that the zen microphoto dossent work on windows 2000,
my work computer is also running windows 2000, and it lealy bugs me that i cant sync my calender with the zen.
creative should make a firmware, where windows 2000 is supportet. i like the MTP, i can se its the way of the future, but i realy think that creative should realize that windows 2000 still run on meany computers,
i realy like the zen mircophoto, but if i knew that it wassent supportet under windows 2000, i dont think i would have baught it. and do creative even realize that its not supportet ? if you look under the windows 2000 downloads in the creative support site, it says.

and let me say... you have no chance to install this download under windows 2000, becaus it requires that the computer can se the device, and the device cant be seen without MTP.
so to install this pakage on even windows xp, you need media player 0.
This is just not right !

Issues copying more than 47 folders to Zen MicroPhoto via Media Explo

I have had my Zen MicroPhoto for a few weeks now and not had any issues with it until now. This is really strange and may be a little confusing to understand. And yes, I do have the latest Firmware version...
I have included an image to show the organization of my music. Instead of dumping all the individual tracks into the main directory, I keep them all sorted by Artist, Album, and then the Tracks themselves.
As you can see, I have 47 folders in the root "Music" folder on my Zen MicroPhoto, but if I try copying any more into the "Music" folder, it randomly places them inside any one of the folders insidethe "Music" folder. For instance: I dragged all my music I own by The Beatles onto the Zen, but it placed The Beatles' folder in Bowling For Soup's (?). At first, when the artists were no longer showing up in the main Music folder, I thought that they were just for some reason being hidden or something... but they do infact play on my Zen MicroPhoto without any trouble. Then I was looking through my folders to sort some music and there it was: "The Beatles", sitting in my "Bowling For Soup" folder.
I do have quite a bit of knowledge about Operating Systems -- and computers in general -- but this issue has really got me... anyone else experiencing this?

P.S. I have not tried reformatting my Zen yet, but I will if I can't find a solution here.

I just Formatted All and Reloaded Firmware... seems to have fixed it for now. I will update if it occurs again.

How to format HDD and reinstall OS on macbook pro mid 2010 without the installation DVD.

After updated the OS with MAVERICKS becomme my macbook very slow. So I want to format the HDD and reinstall the OS but without the installation DVD - (lost).
Could some one advise me how to proceed? Thank you

First of all, copy your most important files to an external drive, or make a backup of your files. Then, hold Command and R keys while your Mac is starting, open Disk Utility and erase Macintosh HD by choosing it in the Disk Utility's sidebar and going to Erase tab.
Finally, close Disk Utility and reinstall OS X

HELP! On Zen Microphoto.. Creative Word stuck! wont start

Please help.. my zen microphoto is only a month old. Just this afternoon while listening the music suddenly stopped. I checked the player and found out that it froze. I tried pressing the back arrow but nothing. Then I tried to shut the player off but it wont turn off. Big Bidg problem, when I tried to turn it on the screen froze with the word creative on it. normally at start-up the ceati've word comes out while the blue led is on then comes the phrase zen microphoto but now the screen will freeze at the word creative and the player wont shut down. Need help.. please

Zen Microphoto Error, detected by computer but nothing el

Ok, so one night i was importing some new songs to my mp3 player and went to bed. Then the next morning i turned my comp on and i saw on the mp3 player "re-building-library" and the computer detected the mp3 player but Zen Microphoto Media Explorer, WINexplorer or WMP didnt detect it.
Always when i connect my mp3 player i get this:

But nothing else detects it, and i cant import songs using WMP, WINexplorer or Zen Microphoto Media Explorer.
This happened without reason and iam very dissapointed, hope for help. Thank you.

I had the same problem with my 40GB Touch a couple of days ago. I just needed to reset the player>clean disk>reboot?I had read that if the software detects any error codes in the player in will not detect it or connect. Hope this helps, it did for me but I'm still learning how to use mine (just picked it up used)?BTW I'm using WMP , couldn't get CMO 3 or 5 to work either?Message Edited by TP24 on 0-9-20070:9 PM

Zen Microphoto won't sync anymore, but is recogni

Firstly let me say my Zen Microphoto has been syncing and working fine right up until now.
I have XP MCE SP2 installed...
But I am thinking perhaps the problem it won't sync is because I upgraded from Windows Media Player 0 to just today?
What happens is it plugs in, and charges. A couple of times the MTP device box pops up asking me what I want to do and I double click on sync with Media Player. However then it goes away and nothing happens, and Media Player cannot detect it -- but nor can Microphoto Media Explorer, so perhaps it is not a problem with Media Player?
I have searched around the forum and the only solution available is to delete the USB devices in Device Manager, reboot and let them reinstall, but I really don't want to do that, I don't know if anything will stuff up or not -- I have resetted the player and performed a scan disc, and it seems fine.

EDIT: When trying to reinstall the driver (with Creative cd in dri've) I now get this message: "A service installation section in this INF is invalid" and it says my hardware may not work properly. Nothing has changed except now I have an exclamation mark on my Creative Zen Microphoto icon in Device Manager and I can't properly install the driver, with the proper cd! This is extremely frustrating!

Zen Microphoto Drivers / How to use microphoto without

I've lost the CD for my Zen Microphoto and just recently formatted and reinstalled Win XP on my computer. Most companies host drivers for the hardware they sell. Creative seems to be taking exception to the microphoto. I've downloaded everything listed in the downloads section for the microphoto. The strange thing is that there is no driver listed. I've been trying for weeks to find a way to transfer songs to and from my zen and have yet to find a way. I can't even install the zen organizer application because it requires a connection with my zen player (which my computer can't find without a driver). I've tried connecting with my zen on several different computers. Nothing works. Any ideas?
By the way, who's bright idea at creative was it to sell mp3 players that don't come with power cords that connect with wall outlets?

If you are using standard oracle client, software is installed correctly, you shouldn't need to. The oracle directories will already be on the path.
If you are using instant client you will have to set your path manually. Goto control panel -> system -> Environment variables.
I'm fairly sure the Instance client installation document has something on this.

Hello everyone!?I'm new to the forum, and I just register to find out where can?I find the downlaod to put my MP3 working. I've a Zen Microphoto (8GB), and unfortunately I've lost my installation CD, and I'm loking for a download to replace the CD. But I just can't fid the original program in the Donload section. I've donloaded almost every programs related to the Zen Microphoto and nothing. So please someone help me. I'm getting desperate because I can't put more musics in my Creative. Thanks in advance.

You can use Windows Media Player to put songs on your MicroPhoto. I'm not sure if there is a download available to replace your CD.

Zen Microphoto works with USB1.1, but not USB

I recently bought a Zen Microphoto 8gb. After some trouble installing it, i finally got it to work. My computer has 6 USB-ports, where 2 is USB. compliant, and 4 are USB2.0 compliant. I connected the Microphoto to one of the USB. ports, and Windows XP installed it automatically after a few seconds. This works fine.
But I want faster transfer speeds, so I connected the player to one of my USB2-ports, expecting it to work equally there. What happens when I do this, is that Windows XP acts as the player is not installed.. A message at the systray tells me "Creative Labs ZEN MicroPhoto found", and a driver install window pops up telling me to insert the included CD to install the driver (obviously because the driver now isn't implemented in XP)
I then tried to uninstall the players drivers and then plug it in the USB2.0 ports. Just the same problem.
Windows finds the drivers when connecting it to USB., but not when connecting it to USB2.0
I have Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Windows Media Player 0. Can anyone help me, as I am a music artist, and need a working MP3-player.

I have the same problem actually. Works fine on my USB1.1, but it was a bit slow, so i bought a PCI USB 2 Card. When I plug it in, I get the generic hdd and nothing in iTunes. I got it working a few times in the USB2, but only after reinstalling and installing the iPod software, but it stops working the next time i connect to it.
Not sure what the issue is so far.

Zen Microphoto plays but No Screen

I have a Creative Zen microphoto 8g and it plays music but the screen is blank. Nothing shows up at all. It plays but I cant tell where I am in the menu.
How can I fix this ...and if I cant can someone point me to a screenshot of the most common menus. It is in click mode so I can tell where I am by the clicks but I dont remember the structure.

I have windows 2000 and when i plug in my zen microphoto it says its not compatible is there any way i can fiz this i've tried downloading all the things that are intended to help on the website and still no answer i used to have a regular zen micro and it worked just fine on this computer so why isnt the zen microphoto working i am really confused so please help if you can

Take a look at the requirements for the ZMP (Wicrosoft? Windows? XP (Service Pack or higher) / XP 64-bit). It needs WMP0 for its media transfer protocal.
