Zen Touch play through

Okay not if some of us want to us our MP3 players to play through our car steroes or any other stereo that does not have a cassette deck what are we supposed to do? I know the Apple Ipods have an adapter which would allow radios to pick up through a station. Why hasn't creative made an adapter for their Zen mps players? I have a CD player in my truck and want to be able to play my Zen Touch through my trucks stereo, that is kind of the reason I bought it in the first place. If their already is an adapter for the Zen touch which would allow that, please direct me on where to get one. If their isn't one yet, I strongly suggest that Creative gets on that if they want to compete with the Ipod.

Any FM transmitter that plugs into a normal headphone jack should work. If you don't want to order online, try any biggish electronics store that sells CD players and/or MP3 players. The only ones that won't work are the iPod-only ones that use the iPod's remote jack to control it instead of a simple switch on the device itself.
With some transmitters and some car radios, there is a sound quality problem if the transmitter isn't close to the radio or antenna. If you need to put your transmitter farther from your Zen, get a headphone extension cable.

• My Zen Touch plays some of my Mp3's in slow motion (they play fine on my PC), what's the probl

I don't know how to explain it other than it sounds like it's playing in slow motion or at half speed, is this a problem with the Zen Touch or with the mp3's? The mp3's play fine on my PC so I'm thinking it has to be the Zen. Any suggestions?

See the section "My tracks don't play at the correct speed e.g. they play too slowly, why?" in the FAQ post.

• How do I transfer mp3 files into my Zen touch playe

Hi guys / gals,
I am the most " illiterate" person on earth when it comes to MP3 files and Creative is not very customer friendly so I really need you help.
I have all my MP3 files loaded but I don't know how to transfer them to my Zen touch and creative "WON'T" respond to my questions.
Can someone please help me ? Thanks.

Open up Normand Explorer and plug in your Zen (download all the drivers and stuff first" From Normand Explorer, go to Zen Touch, Music. Then just copy/past or drag all your songs into Normand Exploere, and the music goes onto the Touch.

• Should I buy the Zen Micro or the Zen Touch Playe

I am trying to decide whether to buy the Zen Micro or the Zen Touch. They are roughly the same price. I do not think I need 20GB, but I hate to constrain myself.
On the other hand, the Zen Micro appears to offer a few extra features like FM radio, replaceable battery, voice recording and advanced song handling (DJ, for example). The Zen Touch seems to have just the most basic functions.
So what do I do, get a gigantic player with minimal functionality (less than an iPod or Nomad) or a smaller player with more functionality (I am unlikely to use voice and FM recording, and use the FM radio minimally)?
It just seems like the overall Micro firmware is more robust than the Touch firmware, but I'm not sure the tradeoff is worth it.
What are your thoughts?

I have a Zen Touch. I do not have an enormous music collection, but have maybe 50 or 60 albums on the player. This is something like 6 or 7 GB. It is WAY too much for me (even this much music). I do not need even that many songs on it at once. With support via WMP0 to synchronize, you could just synch up your favorites every time, switch them around, eventually synch up Napter 2 Go stuff and still have a ton on a 5 GB player. Features on the Micro that sound flashy but I would NEVER use are the calendar, contact thing. I have this on my phone, too, and don't use it. I have a PDA--I DO use that. An MP3 player is a pitiful substitute for a PDA (and a PDA is a lousy MP3 player). I would use the Audible Audio support in the Micro. Touch does not have this. I am a huge Audible fan. I had seriously looked at a Rio Carbon, but now that the Micro is out, that would be the player I would buy if I had it to do over again. They do need to develope a way to charge your extra battery for the Micro. The ability to swap batteries is pretty stupid the way it is now--you can only charge it in the player. They need a charger for the spare. Just my opinion, but I think some people get carried away with hard dri've potential. I can't forsee EVER wanting to carry that much music around with me, especially when it will be so easy to change what is on the player once full support for WMP0 comes out. I am just not away from my home computer library for that length of time that I would want to carry most of it around with me. I vote for the Micro.

• Zen Touch Sensitivity & Carrying Case Is

I have had the pleasure of owning the Zen Touch for a little over two months and I am consistently impressed with the quality of playback. I do, however, have to agree with some reviews and posts that talk of the over sensitivity of the touch pad. I am quite familiar with the different points that control the speed of the scrolls, etc., but there is no question that this touch pad is way too sensiti've, no matter what the setting. My question is, can't this be corrected by a firmware download, and if it can, will it be forthcoming? My second issue is with the carrying case which is totally non-user friendly. When you look at other MP3 players (i.e. Dell Jukebox, Ipod, etc.), the manufacturers have made allowances for the controls to be accessed while the player is still in it's case, whereas Creative has not done that. I have contacted Creative twice on this matter and was first told there was going to be a new case available for the Zen Touch. When I followed up with a second call three weeks later, I was told there is no such item on the drawing boards. Anyone have a clue about the carrying case? Thanks. Happy Holidays to all.

Thanks for your response. I am really being patient with the sensitivity issue and whenever I think I have it mastered; bang, the screens just have a mind of their own. I would think that Creative would address this issue at some point, since a lot of reviewers have mentioned this "drawback." I can li've with it. I agree with you about the case being bulky. In addition to not having access to the controls or being able to see the screen, I have found that the case does not really stay on the belt securely. I have found that for piece of mind, I will rest it on something or clip it on the back of the airplane seat in front of me. I did treat myself to a pair of the new Bose noise suppressing headphones. Can't hear the engines on the plane and the Zen Touch plays music as if you were in the front row of a music hall. Outstanding!!!!

• Zen Touch connecting to a hi-fi through a USB p

Hello all,
Just a quick question, has anyone managed to get there Zen (Touch) to play through there hi-fi using a usb port on the hi-fi.

I've *heard* that some people have had success connecting MTP/PlaysForSure devices to various systems, Xbox 360s, etc. The system has to be made for this functionality, which theoretically works with any MTP device. However, Creative didn't design their players with this in mind (it wasn't available yet I think), so we don't officially support it. However, please do post here with the result if you try it!

• Can't play music from Zen Touch in MediaSou

When I am running MediaSource and I tell it to play a song off my Zen Touch, it goes into the playlist and looks like it's playing fine except... no sound comes through the speakers! Does anyone know what's going on here?

It's probably coming out the headphone socket. See here in the Zen FAQ at Nomadness.net.

• Zen Touch through Ste

Ok... I've been through heaps of the threads here about playing a mp3player through the home stereo and I've bought the correct RCA cables with a headphone bit... but i don't know what to do with it!
This probably sounds really stupid, but could somebody please tell me step by step how to play it through my stereo? Thanks guys

Hi, it should be really easy (I think, mine's not a zen touch so I might be talking a load of ****)
Put the headphone bit in the Zen's headphone jack, then connect the other end to the stereo.
Turn both on ( if they aren't already) and press the button on the stereo that allows you to hear from an external source (as opposed to CD, tape or tuner) - if the stereo has the necessary holes for your cable to connect to, it there must be an external souce button! (mine's called 'auto' or something I think).
Bob's your uncle!
READ THIS BIT ST (edit) - Oo, potentially very important point - not sure if it matters, as I don't know much about speakers, but it might be very wise to have your Zen at LOW volume when you connect, as I've heard something about speakers 'blowing' when loud stuff is connected to them. You can then turn it up to the desired volume I think.
By the way, my boyfriend's got this great device like a cassette tape (remember them?) with a wire coming out of it that goes into my mp3 player's headphone jack. You can then put the tape into the car radio, press play on your mp3 player and away you go - everlasting tape (nearly)! Excellent for long car journeys. You can get them for a tenner from a well known catalogue shop, or maybe even from here (I've not looked, as I just use his.)

• My iPod touch is not playing through my stero

My iPod touch 4g is not playing through my stero. My stero has a dock that you can plug in your iPod or iPhone and you are able to select music to listen to. My iPod used to be able to do it but now it won't. My iPod shows that it is conected, but everytime I try to pres play on a song it will not play through the speakers of my stero. It does say it is playing, but it is not playing through the speakers of my stero. My steros speakers work just fine. It did however play my dads iPhone, so I know it is just my iPod touch.

No good.
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

My iPod Touch will not play through external speakers when it is docked. It only plays through it's internal speaker. All the other functions on the iPod can be controlled by the external speakers (volume, track, etc). How do I fix this?

I would try in oreder:
- Resetting the iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restoring the iPod via iTunes. First from backup and if problem persists, restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

• My ipod touch wont play through my docking station

hiya i have an ipod touch. aout a week ago it stopped working with my docking station. it wont play through the docking station speakers. ive tried two other ipods on the station and they work fine so its clearly a problem with my ipod. the ipod registers that its plugged into a charging source and starts playing music when its plugged in but through its own speakers rather then the docking station. i've tried doing a full factory reset and that didnt work. does anybody have any suggestions?

I subscibed to ITunes Match and all my music has disappeared from my Ipod touch and will only play through WiFi so I cannot play music in my car. How do I get it back please

You'll need to switch off iTunes Match on the device & sync the iPod with iTunes as hopefully you've kept all your music on your PC.

• Why does my 3rd Gen iPod Touch still play through the speaker when I plug my headphones in?

When I plug my headphones into my iPod, it plays through them, but it also continues to play through the built in speaker. Does anyone know how this can be fixed? Thanks

- First see if it woks OK with another pair of headphones.
- next, to rule out a software probem:
- Reset:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore the iPod from backup
- Restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod
If still problem you likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. It is liklely a problem with the headphone jack i the iPod. There are third-party places that will replace he jack.

• Okay...Now That I Have PlaysForSure On My Zen Touch, How Can I Play It On W

Funny thing is, I managed to do it once but I didn't know how I did it. :smileyvery-happy:Now I don't remember. So, again...How Can I Listen To My Zen Touch On Windows Media Player? I'd especially like to do this on my terminal at work. :smileytongue:Thanks.

Okay, so if I hear you correctly, I should download the Zen Touch Media Explorer to my computer at work and use it that way. I followed your advice on my home computer and sure enough, I can hear the music. :smileyvery-happy:
Only I can't seem to see what's playing. And I'm not sure how to control the player (for playback functions, ie shuffle, repeat, rewind, skip, etc.). :smileysurprised:
Any advice on those problems? Thanks.
Sorry for over-reacting, by the way.
