Zero values in stacked column
Hello all, I'm doing some reports in apex 4 and I'd like to hide the zero values. Could it be possible?
I've read most of anychart doc and xml reference but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.
The data format section in anychart doc: http://www.anychart.com/products/anychart/docs/users-guide/number-formatting.html
here is my problem:
http://imgur.com/wot2u.jpg
like always thanks in advance....
Hello Hillary, thanks for the input...
about your comments first of all I've already considered the turning off of the labels and I'm keeping that workaround as an eventual option.
about the data set, I couldn't imagine a data set with restiricted zero (or null) values. i'll try to expliain why with a sample data set (maybe you can paste it in excel for a better view):
group_label;value1;value2;value3;value4
group1; 2 3 0 2
group2; 1 0 0 3
group3; 0 2 1 1
so you see here how each group will form a bar. group1 will have stacked values of 2,3,0,2. the where clause wont work given there is a value of that column needed to form the group3 bar.
anyway, maybe if I wait a while some will come up with the same problem.
thanks again!

Report parameter is not populated with exact value in stacked column click throughs
I have stacked column chart to show below opportunity data.
Category axis: Month of created date
Series: sales stage
Aggregate: runningvalue of revenue on sales stage group.
data set has below fields.
1. opportunity id
2. created date
3. revenue
4. sales stage.
5. Calculated field: month of created date
I have a sub report which shows the detail information for that month when I click on Stacked column. In order to achieve this i have to pass a report parameter with month of created date(calculated field) on the click action of main report.
This report parameter is not getting populated when i click on the respective stacked column because of which the sub report is failing.
Any thoughts?

1. Category: month of the created date of opportunity(thisThanks Katherine for reply.
Creating a subreport was never an issue, the issue was when I click on the stacked column the parameter (A) as per your screenshot was not getting populated, some times it just passes a null value.
In my report below is the sample data and in Chart
1. Series Aggregate is on Runningvalue of Revenue set to stage scope.
2. CAtegory group is on Month of Created date
3. Series group is on Stage
4. Have a report filter for Year.
Sub report parameter: Month which is passed when I click on the stacked column.
Below is sample data how my data looks like.

Suppressing Zero values in a column
Hi Gurus,
I am trying to suppress all values for Zero for just one column in a query. I want the column to display it as blank when the value is zero and show the value when it is not zero.
Any suggestions please?Hi Voodi,
Thanks for ur response, I know abt going to the properties to do that,but it will suppress the value for all the columns and I am trying to suppress for just one column and not all the columns.
Let me know if you have any other suggestion.

In ColumnChart, how to stop displaying small column for zero value?
I'm trying to create a ColumnChart that does not display a column when the value is zero. The chart currently looks like this:
This is a stacked column chart with red values representing Faults and green values representing Throughput. Each hour has an explicit value of zero for Faults. I don't want to see any red lines when the value is zero. Is there any way to accomplish this?

The solution is to set the stroke for the ColumnSeries to {noStroke}, which I defined like this:
<mx:Stroke id="noStroke" color="0xFFFFFF" weight="0"/>
Note that if you define {noStroke} without a color property, black is used by default, which means that those columns that do appear show up in black stroke outline.
If there's a more elegant solution to the problem, please let me know... -
Stacked Column Report bug when one series has zero for data
Hi,
I'm encountering an issue with the stacked charts. In my chart, I want to show the total of active and expired records for each year. I created a series for each, and the SQL for them is below:
Active (1st series created):
select '' link,to_char(preparedate,'YYYY') label,count(*) Active
from cts.contract
where preparedate is not null and
to_char(preparedate,'YYYY')>to_char(sysdate,'YYYY')-10
and expired = 0
group by '',to_char(preparedate,'YYYY')
order by '',to_char(preparedate,'YYYY')
Expired (2nd series):
select '' link,to_char(preparedate,'YYYY') label,count(*) Expired
from cts.contract
where preparedate is not null and
to_char(preparedate,'YYYY')>to_char(sysdate,'YYYY')-10
and expired = 1
group by '',to_char(preparedate,'YYYY')
order by '',to_char(preparedate,'YYYY')
When I see the chart output, I expect the chart to show the stacked columns with expired stacked on top of active, and ordered by year. However, for the two years in our database where there are no active (series 1) records, only expired (series 2) ones, these bars are displayed to the right of the other years. Oddly, for the year where all records are active, and none are expired, there is a sliver at the top of the bar for that year showing as the color for expired, and hovering over that portion of the bar displays zero. I understand that with the other two years where the series with zero would be stacked on the bottom, and therefore not visible, but why does the chart put these years after the other ones that are in order? Since my records are from 1998-2007, and the two years without series 1 records (active) are 1999 and 2002, the years are shown in this order: 1998, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 1999, 2002.
Any help with how to make these two years show in the correct order with the others is appreciated.
Thanks,
BrianAfter switching from Thin driver to OCI the problem went away.

Stacked 100% bar chart - Problem with datatips for zero value data points
I have a stacked 100% bar chart that shows datatips in Flex 4. However, I don't want it to show datatips for
data points with zero values. Flex 4 shows the datatip for a zero value data point on the left side of a bar if the data point is not the first in the series.
Here's the code that illustrates this problem. Of particular concern is the July bar. Because of the zero value data point problem, it's not possible to see the datatip for "aaa".
Any ideas on how we can hide/remove the datatips for zero value data points ? Thanks.

Hide values in Stacked Horizontal 2D Column chart
Hello. I have created a stacked flash chart, and everything is good except one thing. The values and name of each stacked column is written within the bars of the graph. I have played with all of the variables and can't seem to remove them. I have a legend so I know what the colors are, and the values are listed on the axis, so I don't need the text on top of the actual columns. Plus, they overlap eachother. Any ideas on how to remove this?
Thanks.

*Ignore the astrix's in the code. I had to enter that so the text wasn't formatted in OTN.I created a stacked vertical chart, and it doesn't superimpose text over the bars, which is good... but if the values exceed the axis max val that I defined, the chart changes size (which the horizontal chart doesn't do). It looks like depending on which one you choose, you simply have differing uneditable options.

Stacked Column Chart Value does not show in Preview or SWF
I have created a simple (one-column) stacked Column chart from an imported Excel 2007 spreadsheet. I am using 3 values and all three are there when I am editing the chart. When I do a Preview or Export it to a .swf file, the third value does not show up. It only shows the first two.
I am running Xcelsius 2008, Version 5.1.3.0, build 12,1,3,495.
Edited by: Rich Krejsa on Apr 9, 2009 9:35 PMHi Rich,
Try to rebind the data with the component and preview and see.
Also check with other charts to see if you get the same behaviour.
Try placing a table component and display those cell and see what values are there when you preview.
There could also be posiblities that the third values must be very small as compared to the other two,so check that as well and may be select the secodry scale in the general tab for the 3rd series.
Let me know if this helps.

Xcelsius - Stacked Column Chart - Overall value / Result
Hi *,
does somebody knows how I can display the overall value of my columns in a stacked column chart?
Or is there a workauround to do this?
Thanks and regards,
MarkusYes, it would absolutely be nice if they provided this option for the stacked charts.
Couple of other options-
Create a bar chart that graphs the totals as one series. Specify that it should show the data values, adjusting an offset so the totals appear to the end/top of the bar, Place the totals chart behind your stacked bar chart. obvioulsy the cahrts have to align precisely.
Another option - concatenate the total amount so it appears as part of teh axis label. This works better for some scnarios than others.
See this video example to get an idea of how this might work.
http://everythingxcelsius.com/2009/06/show-chart-values-without-hovering.html
With SP3, if there are only a few series in your chart, another option you can play with is adding an additional series for each series in your chart. Have a very small value that won't register visually on the chart e.g. .001, and then assign category labels for each series that is total value for a series, and choose to display the lables. Hard ot explain this one well, I 'll see if I can put togeter a simple example. This gets ugly quickly.
I'd love to hear ideas from others. -
Suppress zero values for data labels in a stacked bar chart.
I've seen this question asked before, but I can't seem to find anyone who knows how to do this. I've made a stacked bar chart from a crosstab result, and I don't want to show labels that have a zero value. This seems like others would have this same issue as it can really clutter up a chart. The link below shows my chart. I am trying to remove the labels that say "On-PW 0"
http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa472/gno722/question%20examples/crystalquestion.jpgthe steps below will work on a regular chart..not sure about stacked...
1) in Preview mode of the report click on a Y axis value and go to Data Y Axis Options
2) go to Scale and set a Minimum Value of .001
3) check the Don't Draw Out Of Scale Values

Dsiplay data values and data lables in a stacked column chart
Hi All
Is there a way to display data values and data labels in a stacked column chart. Mouse over or display of labels in legends wont help. It has to be in the chart .
Regards,
anshulHi Anshul,
You can display either data value or data label in a stacked column chart by checking the Data Label Displaying Mode option under Format Chart->Data Values.
You can also do the same by checking the same option under Format chart->Area Display->Data Values.
I dont think you would be able to display both in a column chart whereas you would be able to do it in a pie chart.
Hope this helps.

2D stacked column does not show values
Hi Friends,
I am new to Apex. I have a 2D column chart with two columns for every data point. The display value check box is checked and I can see the values on the chart. But now when i to make it a stacked 2 D column, the Show Values checkbox field gets disabled and the values does not appear on the stacked 2D column chart. I tried the same with 3S stacked column chart and even there the show values gets disabled.
Is there any way i can display the values on the chart for a stacked column? I can see the values when i hover on it in case of Stacked column chart but I need to display the values on the chart.
Kindly let me know how i can do this in Apex?Hi Pradeep,
In earlier releases of Application Express, the supported version of AnyChart Flash charts did not fully support the display of values for Stacked charts. Therefore, the "Show Values" checkbox would be disabled on the Chart Attributes page. Since our 4.0 release, with the integration of AnyChart 5 charts, the option to display values on stacked charts is exposed via the Chart Attributes page. To take advantage of this option, along with many other charting improvements introduced with our 4.0 release, I would recommend that you upgrade to the latest version of Application Express.
Alternatively, you could switch your existing chart to use custom XML, and change the following line of code in the chart XML from:
<names show="no"/> to <names show="yes"/>For further information on customising your chart XML, please refer to the AnyChart 3 documentation: http://3.anychart.com/products/docs/anychart/index.htm.

When I try to use 'Stacked Column Bar'. with data assigned in the graphs, and want to see it in the 'Preview' mode in Xeclsius, I unable to see the graphs apart from the Axes ans Series Value, the graphs becomes totally invisible why So ?
Hi Ranendra,
For basic understanding of Dashboards and Models you can use standard Templates or samples which ll come along with dashboard designer(Formly Xcelsius) installation.
For path File-->Templates(or Samples).
Under Templates you ll have different categories and for each you ll find the dashboard Templates.

Stacked Column Chart Data Labels Not Appearing
I am using SetSytle in Actionscript to make the data labels in a stacked column chart appear inside but it's not working.
A portion of the code I am using to create the chart is below:
//initialize column set for stacked columns
var colSet:ColumnSet = new ColumnSet();
colSet.type="stacked";
for each(var node:XML in _chartDP){
var k:int = 0;
//skip zero datapoints
if (parseInt(node.toString()) != 0) {
//if measure node does not exist, add as series
k = uniqueYCat(node.attribute("BillTo"));
if (k == -1){
// Create the new column series and set its properties.
var localSeries:ColumnSeries = new ColumnSeries();
localSeries.setStyle("labelPosition","inside");
localSeries.dataProvider = dataArray;
localSeries.yField = node.attribute("BillTo");
localSeries.xField = "ConfidenceStatus";
localSeries.displayName = node.attribute("BillTo");
localSeries.setStyle("showDataEffect", ChangeEffect);
// Back up the current series on the chart.
var currentSeries:Array = chart.series;
// Add the new series to the current Array of series.
currentSeries.push(localSeries);
//Add Array of series to columnset
colSet.series.push(localSeries);
//assign columnset to chart
chart.series = [colSet];
After some more research, I put a breakpoint inside ColumnChart.as in the following function:
mx_internal function getSeriesLabelPos(series:Series):void
if(series is ColumnSeries)
var columnSeries:ColumnSeries = ColumnSeries(series);
var position:String = columnSeries.labelPos;
if(position == "inside" || position == "outside" || position == "none")
_needLabels = true;
else if(series is ColumnSet)
var setSeries:Array /* of Series */ = ColumnSet(series).series;
for (var i:int = 0; i < setSeries.length; i++)
getSeriesLabelPos(setSeries[i]);
the following line: var position:String = columnSeries.labelPos;
returns postion as null. It looks like the setStyle is not passing the correct value to this function.
Any ideas as to what is going on?chart appearance is controlled by xml files located in
{cfroot}\charting\styles. the file for bar charts is
default.xml
you will want to:
1) copy thisfile to your site's root or some other folder
(i.e. same
folder that the page displaying your chart is in)
2) edit the file and change isHideOverlapped attribute of
labelStyle
property for xAxis to "false"
3) point the STYLE attribute of your cfchart tag to this new
file.

1) i'm having 2 stacked coumn charts & 1 lebel based menu but eventhough i couldn't able to achieve.
if i select the lebel based values then the 2nd stacked column charts is giving detailed valus but if i keep my mouse on the 1st stacked column chart the there is no changes on the 2nd chart..
somewhere i'm mising the binding data between 1st stacked coumn chart & lebel based menu on drill down part.
Becoz i'm having multiple rows. so can you please try your and send me the xlf file using your concept.
