Zoom 200 vs 280 vs 400 do I need that much???
Of course this is about the 70-200 (with extender) vs 100-400 lens. I have read the forums and it feels like in reality it would just be a toss up. This is an expensive choice and I would like to make the best decision possible for my situation.
Here is my Situation
I have a 6 and 4 year old that are really getting into sports, Baseball, Football, BMX, and MotorCross. They are just getting faster with everyday. Almost all of their sports will be in sunny enough conditions as I live is CA. (At least for now)
I currently have a Canon 60D.
I feel most of my shots are going to be 50+ to 150 feet away.
Which lens should I choose and why?
70-200 with a 1.4
70-200 with a 2.0 - (I am worried about the focus speed of the 70-200 with a 2x. )
100-400
How much more (zoomed in?) am I actually going to get with 200 vs 280 vs 400 zoom?
Would the 70-200 with a 1.4 (280) be more than enough?
Would your answer change if I upgraded to the MkIII camera?
I am a hobbiest that is having fun with the camera and looking for good quality photos I can hang on the wall in the house.

The longer the max length the more it magnifies (gets you closer) the subject BUT it also narrows the field of view. If the short end isn't wide enough to get the field of view you want then you have to back up which isn't always possible. That forces a lens change, which can be an issue if you need to keep switching constantly. Your 60D makes a lens act 1.6 times longer than it's advertised length (70 mm becomes the equavelent of a 114 mm lens) & the long end of a 200 mm zoom acts like it's 320 mm long. If my link works & I hope it does use the slider to see how tight a 70-300 gets you to the subject but how narrow the field of view becomes. Ignore the pricing because it's Canon Canada's site.

can't zoom with trackpad in safari how can i solve that?There are two places on settings where you can tunr zoom on or off for the trackpad.
They both need to be on for it to work.
The first is under: system preferences>trackpad>scroll & zoom, then you just need to chekc the box to turn zoom on. ( this is the one you already have checked i think)
The second is under: system preferences>universal access>seeing, then check the box that says zoom.

i am at the public library now, since i have NO computer, i did until i installed your fix/the firefox techy fix. not.
i have a little screen. and the issue is simple, most programs and sites i view, are too large, so i am always setting to 67% or 80%, it's a hassle. i wanted, obviously doesn't exist, a way to preset it, to always go to 80%, always. that'll work on my screen since i am forever every site, every day, manually setting to 80% or sometimes 67%, just to be able to view and use.
now, your idea, too huge and worse, i used to have another appl. from firefox, which helped some/it showed a EASY drop down, upper right corner, to select right from there, without going in to firefox, a drop down choice i make of a %, was not great but helped.
with the download of your horrible idea, horrible, i lost that drop down and now have no way to undo what your appl. caused, a hugeeee filled screen, unable to view a thing

I went to the toolbar, clicked on View, then Zoom, then Zoom Out. It does Zoom Out, but after I click a link or go to another web page, it Zoom's right back in. How do I keep it Zoomed Out where I want it permanetly?

How can I save zoom setting for a DOCUMENT so it opens at that setting?
I find an optimal zoom setting for a document I'd like to use (say 42%) and want the document to open at that setting. I save the document with File>Save Copy. However when I open the document, it opens at the DEFAULT zoom setting set in the Preferences for program. If I change the zoom level here to what I desire for that document, obviously all documents will open at that default setting.
How can I save my desired zoom level for a document, which will most likely be different for EACH document, and have the saved document open at that setting?
This seems like a trivial exercise / feature that should be easy to implement BOTH by the programmers of the software and the user setting the zoom level.
Also, I want to suppress the bookmarks sidebar. I save without the bookmarks but the documents opens with the side bar. Can't THIS be set for each document?
Why is it so difficult to tailor the viewing of a document to exactly what the viewer wants?OK. Sorry for the mistake in posting the question here.
Again it seems like it should be trivial to save a document in the Reader with a viewer's desired zoom setting. I find this very helpful as I like to use a zoom setting that when scrolling down the document only one full page of the document is viewed (like turning the pages of a book). Without this feature, partial pages are displayed when scrolling unless one experiments to find the correct zoom setting (often it is 60%). One must do this every time one opens the same document, unless one remembers the zoom setting.

Can I zoom into a picture and save it at that close up view?
The simple answer is, "Yes". Use Aperture's crop tool to create a Version that shows only the part you want to be visible.

I would like to disable it, because the motion it seems to do that is moving diagnol from bottom right to top left. I do this motion alot and it continuously zooms out on all windows and it's incredibly annoying, please help!

Great questions. The promotion is set to expire on September 30. As long as you start the process and receive a confirmation code you are set. You can then order the phone and then activate the new phone. Once you have received the new phone you have until December 1, 2014 to return the phone. Once the phone has been processed in the Recycling Program you will receive the gift card in 4-6 weeks. You will be able to trade your device in with any carrier.

Can anyone help. Especially Apple who don't seem to want to allow anyone to report a problem. It's taken me an hour to get this far. I've been charged nearly £100 for apps that are free in the app store - racing penguins for one which is free but billed to me at £6.99! How can I get a refund and stop this happening again...
There is no subscription section in my account.
I am paranoid after reading the above post but it seems there is no way to turn off initial purchases, only renewals can be turned off.
1) Do all apps explicitly ask if you want to purchase a subscription and give the price?
Is that required and controlled by Apple?
2) Or is it possible an app will just charge and give you a subscription when
a) the app is installed or b) when it is run the first time?
If # 2 is a posibility then:
We should be able to disable initial purchases so we don't wind up spending 100's by accident.
Then if they are disabled we would have to re-enable them to get a subscription
and after we could disable them again. If #2 can happen that would be the only way to
stop an accidental purchase from happining.
Why - because I know from other places on the internet it ir Real Easy to miss
something in the fine print no matter how dilligent you are about reading the Terms.
Can someone answer the questions 1 & 2?
And if 2 is possible - can anyone offer any advice (besides read carefully - I know that)?

I was just wondering if anyone here is using an Nvidia Quadro4 NVS 400 (4 display PCI video card) with the K8T Master-2 FAR motherboard?? After having nothing but problems trying to get two dual-head video cards to work on this mobo (one AGP, 1 PCI) I've decided to maybe try a single quad-display PCI card, but was hoping for some input before I make any purchases.

I did use a different switch and it did the same thing.
I haven't tried a higher wattage one but I doubt it needs that much juice,
especially without anything plugged , ie. hdd, cdrom...

To create a new message type, follow these next few steps:
u2022 Enter transaction WE81 (ALE -> Extensions -> IDoc types -> Maintain message type for intermed. Structure -> Create logical message type)
u2022 Choose Create logical message type by double clicking on it
u2022 Click on change icon to enter change mode
u2022 Click on New entries to add a new type
u2022 Enter the required message type, in our case it is ZINVRV and an appropriate description
u2022 Save and exit.
Your message type has now been created. The next step will be to link it to the IDoc.
2.2.1. Link message to IDoc type (WE82 & BD69) {color:green} Client independent {color}
To link the message type to the IDoc type follow these next few steps:
u2022 Enter transaction WE82 (ALE -> Extensions -> IDoc types -> Maintain message type for intermed. Structure -> EDI: Message Types and Assignment to IDoc Types)

Client-independent data such as ABAP Programs, R/3 repository objects throught the entire system. Other data is client-dependent. meaning, it can be viewed from one client. Cleint-dependent data includes customizing application and user data.
Eg.
Scripts are client dependent, means the changes done to SAP scripts in particular client will not be reflected in other client.
Smartforms are client independent, means changes done in one client will be reflected in all the clients.
Server : ECC6
Client : 100 , 200 , 300 , 400
Now suppose you have developed report in DV server client 100.
Then you will be able to see that in all clients.
Hence this is called as client independent. You can change anywhere and changes will be reflected to all ...
Now suppose you have developed a script in DV client 100.
You will not be able to see that in client 200 or 300 or 400 unless ytou copy that from client since it is client dependent. -
Hi, I am trying to render a grid made of dots in a JFreeChart inside of a JasperReport, which is exported to a PDF file. The PDF file prints just fine, but when I open it in the Acrobat Viewer, the following behavior occurs. At high zoom resolutions in the viewer (400% - 1600%), the dots that make up the grid look fine (i.e. they look like small squares), but at lower resolutions, 100% in particular, they become horizontally stretched, and look like very short horizontal lines, instead of dots. The only way I've been able to resolve that issue, is to give the dots (rendered by a BasicStroke awt object) very tiny dimensions, in which case, they look like dots at any resolution in the PDF Viewer, but because of the tiny size, are no longer picked up by the printer.
Has anyone come up against this issue? Is there a particular reason why dots (or little squares) would get stretched out in the Viewer at lower resolutions? Thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions.This all goes to how the dot resolution is converted to the 96dpi characteristic of screens. It sounds like you are using a bitmap dot and not a vector character. If it was a vector character then it would more likely retain the shape. It may also depend on the display resolution you selected in the PDF creations.

Hi. I have an iMac w/ 500GB drive and am going to purchase a MacBook with 250 GB drive. I don't know whether to buy a 500gb or 1tb Time Capsule.
I know that 500GB + 250GB = 750GB, and that common sense tells me I should buy a 1TB Time Capsule. But I've had others tell me that because a.) Time Machine compresses the backups and b.) it's unlikely that I'm going to fill up both drives that I only need the 500GB Time Capsule.
I don't mind buying 1TB, but don't want to spend the extra $200 if I don't need that much.
Any advice would be VERY much appreciated.
- RyanIt should be noted that TM backupd process will pad the aggregate of data to be backed up by approx 20%. It does this to protect itself from the horrors of hitting disk full conditions during a backup.
Thus, if say the aggregate size of the initial backup is 400 GB then, TM backup will look for 400+80 GB of disk space before it will attempt its backup. This really is only significant for the initial backup as it quite likely will be the biggest amount of data to be backed up in one shot.
If you're backing up two computers today, consider tomorrow when you might add a third one.
Let's say you use 2/3 of each HDD. That's 250+125 GB or some 375 GB. Also let's say you your weekly data churn is 2 GB. Thus over 1 year your data churn is 52x2 GB or 104 GB. Add this to the base of 375 GB and you arrive at 480 GB. So a 500 GB TC might last you for a year before TM starts needing more space and will start removing your oldest weekly snapshots.
Now you can play with the numbers all you want to figure out what size of TC to buy.
If I were in your shoes I'd go for the 1 TB TC to allow for some growth. The 500 GB will work for you as well but at the loss of historic data compared to the 1 TB TC when the 500 GB fills up.
As one poster mentioned, how much data history do you want to keep around. You can also exclude data that you feel you can re-install easily from disc/DVDs etc such as 3rd party Applications and even the Mac OS X system files. However, the beauty of TM is that it can be used to re-instate your system to a precise point of time in the past. If you start excluding things you lose some of TM's ease of use and its system recovery features. System files rarely change so they get backed up just once. Of course when you apply a Software Update from Apple this will change some of the system files. Backing up system files allows you to easily back out an Apple software update if for some reason you don't like it. Say you updated from 10.5.1 to 10.5.2 and 10.5.2 turned out to be bad for you. Using the DVD Installer you can easily return to the 10.5.1 state within a few hours. -

You don't want a MacBook Air, a 13" or a 2.0 Ghz 15" for professional work.
You need the 2.2 Ghz 15" anti-glare, high res, MacBook Pro or better. (has the 1GB Radeon 6750M)
The 17" is prefered because it's screen is 1920 x 1200, so 1080i (1920 x 1080 pixels) is WYSIWYG.
You need the anti-glare because your going to be using it for professional work in many environments that you can't control the glare, you need to be able to see the entire screen.
If your ordering online, get the 7,200 RPM drive. Else it's not that much difference from the 5,400 RPM store sold models. Get the 8GB of RAM installed right when you purchase and also AppleCare.
