Zooming (expanding) viewer timeline

My wording here is a bit weird because 'timeline' means something in particular, but how about the viewer's 'timeline' - does anybody know how to expand it? If in the regular sequence timeline one can zoom in / expand the time view with command-(- or +). When that command is used in the viewer it zooms in on the image, not the time. This has bugged me for years and I never really bothered to ask around.

If you're saying what I think you're saying, expanding the window is the only way to expand the "viewer" timeline...

The Expert view timeline sometimes zooms in when I drag a clip

The Expert view timeline sometimes zooms in when I drag a clip from Finder or the Project Assets panel to the Expert view timeline. The Expert view timeline zoom also zoom in if I drag the clip handles to trim a clip.
This behavior is working with Adobe Premiere Elements 10 on my MacBook Pro with retina display. I have found a fix for Adobe Premiere Elements 11 but not one for Adobe Premiere Elements 10.
I hope you have a fix for my problem.

About a year ago I worked with a Premiere Elements 10 Mac user at a forum that I no longer visit. Same Timeline zoom issue. We tried several approaches including the one that works for Premiere Elements 11 Mac. Unfortunately, nothing worked to correct the problem in version 10 Mac. The user eventually went on to Premiere Elements 11 or 12 Mac.
But, just in case, have you checked the program's preferences for one that might be applicable to your particular situation. Unlikely fix, but worth a look.

Expanding/contracting timeline shortcuts. "-" and "+" do not work.

I have purchased Adobe Premiere Elements 13. One thing I need to do a lot during my project is expand/contract the timeline in Expert view. Everywhere I look online I am directed to using "+" or "-" to do this.
However, these buttons do not appear to do anything - even in combination with CTRL or ALT. What am I missing?

What are your expectations - expand the Timeline or to increase the Track size?
With your focus on the -+ Zoom Out Zoom In above the Timeline, check out the slider.
When you first open the project and import to the Expert workspace - default position
When you move the slider all the way to the right (max)
And, to the immediate right of the Render button is an icon "Fit to Visible Timeline" (shortcut \) if you need to use that.
Are you saying that none of that happens when you move the slider to max (Zoom In) to min (Zoom Out)?
Or are you looking for the Large track size which can be obtained by right clicking near the track name and selecting from the drop
down menu Track Size...Large? The following is screenshot 1 with the default location for the zoom slider and with Track Size = Large.
Please review and consider. If the above does not address your situation, then we will go for the deletion of
the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file.

and in the 13.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then you delete the whole 13.0
Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. Make sure that you are not working with hidden folders enabled.

Edit Column Width in Expanded View

I'm not too thrilled about the new iTunes, mostly because of the loss of easy navigation.
My library is full mostly of classical music, and the track names are often very long [eg. "Couperin: Pièces de Clavecin, Onziême Ordre - Les Jongleurs, Sauteurs Et Saltimbanques, Avec Les Ours Et Les Singes"].
The library songs display isn't good for me because it's difficult to keep track of which album one track is a part of, or I'll be looking for something in a specific album which is very difficult to find since each track has its album listing. I liked it before where each album had its array of tracks in one easy bloc.
The difficulty with the albums list is that the text under the albums is cut off before I can see which album it actually is [eg. I see "Bach: Organ Wor...", which isn't good for me because I'm looking for "Bach: Organ Works [Disc 9]"; so in order to find the one I want, I have to count up to number 9. And then when I finally find the right album, I can't distinguish between track names in the expanded view because the columns are too thin to display the often lengthy track names.
It looks something like this in "expanded view":
Say I'm looking for the the Menuetto of Haydn's String Quartet #70 in the album Haydn: String Quartets [Disc 20]:
Album: Haydn: String Quar...
1. Haydn String Quartet #70, Op....
2. Haydn String Quartet #70, Op....
3. Haydn String Quartet #70, Op....

How can I find it when the columns are too thin to display the entire track name?
It seems like the "songs view" and the "albums view" have their own difficulties. So I have two questions:
Is there a way to change the size of the album boxes under "album view"? Now, seven albums fit in one row [in full screen mode]. If I could change it to four albums per row, then I will be able to read the full album names.
Also, in the "expanded view", is there a way to change the width of the columns? If I could increase the column width, then I will be able to read the different track names.
If these things can't be done, then the album view is useless to me, and since the "songs view" is also difficult to use, then this version of iTunes is useless to me and I will have to find another media player.
It's unfortunate that iTunes 11 can be so difficult for classical music listeners, but I'm sure other people have difficulties with this too.

I'm using a 2013 15" Macbook Pro Retina. When working in SpeedGrade, I'm wanting to expand the timeline. I'm not using a mouse. Is there a keyboard shortcut to expand and collapse the Timeline?

Show Organization in Expanded view by default -- Oracle Waveset

Hi,
I am using Oracle Waveset.
In Account List page, when we click on the ' Triangular Image' to expand org then it shows all the users under the org.
Is it possible that by default, it gives expanded view. Please help me on this?

Yes, I know the procedure of viewing the group calendar and adding other users to the view. But what I'm looking for is the way to make it as a default view.
By default, if we refresh or load the calendar page, it will only shows us our schedule. I want it to show all user's schedule as default view, without having to manually add person to the view.
Yep, it's pretty annoying. Some guy figured out a way to do it in the browser:

The problem is that seems to do it all in the UI, which makes it useless if you want to view it in outlook. Still trying to figure exactly how that works though.

Why don't I get store recommendations in expanded view for my albums?

Just installed iTunes 11.
Love it, but I am not getting the option to browse in the store in my expanded view. Why is this?

Figured it out! It was an iTunes preferences setting that was unchecked.
Go to: Prefernces > Store.
Once there make sure you have the "Share details about your library with Apple" checkbox checked.
Apple apparently needs your library info to push the store results into your expanded view pane. Makes sense, I guess.

Unable to view Timeline / Unable to open a file

Has anyone had a problem with the Timeline view being unavailable (Cap V4)? I go to view>timeline and it shows the notes view. I makes it rather difficult to edit the timeline when you can't see it.
I've also had problems from the Captivate 4 opening screen not being able to use the "Recent" column. I cannot select a previously edited CP file nor will it give me a search dialog box from the "Open" command. I've occasionally been able to use Windows Explorer, naviagate to the file I want to open and double click on it to get it to open in Captivate.

Yes, I have been unable to view the Timeline in Adobe Captivate 4. In my case this was due to the Captivate .dat file having become corrupted. To start with I would recommend that you try removing the .dat file from the following location.
Drive Letter \Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Captivate
Please note that the path on Windows Vista might be slightly different.
When you next fire up Captivate, the application will automatically create a new .dat file.
As for not being able to open a file, that sounds a little more serious. If generating a new .dat file does not solve this problem, then you might have to resort to re-installing Captivate. It is posssible that one of the application components has become corrupted.

File Panel Expanded View - DW8

Using DW 8 in Windows XP, open File Panel expanded view. (F8)
When I open a page from my site (local file) the page opens
int he editing view but the File Panel view remains in front of the
page I want to work on. The only way to get rid of it is to
collapse it (F8), which is a pain in the butt.
Using the Mac version the page you selected to edit appears
automatically in front of the File Panel.

Expanded view crashes dreamweaver cs6

I am using Mac 10.7.5. Downloaded Dreamweaver cs6 version 12.0 - I am a cloud user.
I can connect to my FTP server, get and put files.
However, when I switch to file expanded view, the software locks up and I have to force quit.
Any ideas?

Do you get any error log/ crash report when this happens that you can post for us?

How do i zoom in on timeline after latest update?

After the latest update I can no longer seem to zoom into the timeline or zoom out. The help files say to press control on the keyboard and then use mouse wheel however this does nothing. It also say you have to have the master track selected and shows a picture of the button that says "ALL" with a dropdown menu however the newest version after update does not have a dropdown there it is just a button that either shows entire timeline or when clicked enables two other buttons show "in and out". this is driving me mad! I wish they would also included tuts for changes when they do stuff like this.
Any help would be much appreciated.

It's the "alt" key to combine with the scroll wheel for zooming in/out on the timeline ... at least on my windows machine ... and the cursor does need to be on the timeline area. At least, it seems so ...

Zooming into the timeline on FCPX

Is it just my system or does the zoom in on the timeline (Z alt click) require one to lift ones finger off the alt key between clicks. At the moment when I hold the alt key and click say three times FCP X zooms in, then out, then in again.

What you want to do is use the command + or command - combinations. That will zoom in and out. Shift Z will shrink the timeline back down to fit in the project window and primary timeline. For a specific spot either have the playhead or skimmer line at that spot and it will zone right in for you. No matter how far in you go, the shift Z will take you back to the 35000 foot view so to speak.

Why does clicking on the Firefox button or right-clicking bring up either a very small thumbnail or a zoomed in view of the menu options?

Whenever I click on the Firefox menu button or right-click on a hyper link within the broswer, instead of a menu of choices, I am presented with either a tiny thumbnail of the page I am on and the menu expanded (also very tiny). After moving the mouse, the thumbnail disappears and becomes a hyper-zoomed display of the menu that should have displayed. The zoom really looks like what an assistive-reading display would look like.

Sound but no video on tv monitor when capturing/viewing timeline

Can someone please suggest a solution to my problem? It seems that my settings have all of a sudden changed and I can no longer view the video on my tv monitor when capturing or when playing the clips in my timeline. I've already checked to see that I'm using "firewire" settings.
Any ideas what the settings should be?

I'm having trouble connecting my camera as a d to a converter for monitoring.
Firewire out from computer to DV Camera / camera analog rca out to monitor. Camera shows input from lens on monitor. FCP is set to - video playback>firewire>ntsc. External video> all frames.
What do I need to do to allow throughput from FCP - camera - monitor?

Cannot expand viewer for ESPN3. The task bar at the bottom is not visable. It works with Internet Explorer, but not with FireFox

There is a task bar that should be visible so you can expand the viewer to the full size of your computer screen. I can open up internet explorer and it works, but not in FireFox. This is when using ESPN3, or ESPNWATCH.
