Zshare streaming: Seek bar doesn't fully work

When occasionally watching a zshare stream (dislike downloading, takes too long, rather wait a few minutes and then start watching the stream), the stream loads just fine, I can click on the seek bar to make it start from a different position, and it can do this just great.
The video can stream, and it can save itself temporarily for me to watch when I'm comfortable.
The problem I'm having is, I simply can't click the seek bar unless I want to scrap all the data downloaded so far. Clicking on the seek bar (even if the video is fully loaded) will reset all data and start restreaming all over again.
Is this a firefox problem? Zshare simply doesn't allow this function, even though giving me a seek bar makes me assume it does support it...
Megavideo, Youtube, Veoh and many other video streaming services have a fully functioning streaming feature. Zshare simply won't work...
Any help is appreciated.

Hello.
So I've got the DVRCast application installed, and I am successfully streaming live-DVR content to the updated FLVPlayback component. I'm able to access the DVR-specific metadata (e.g. "currLen") without any trouble, and so forth.
When I record with the Flash Live Encoder, everything works correctly; the seek bar fills in as more content is published, and the playhead advances slowly across the filled-in section of the seek bar.
But when I do the publishing with a custom client instead of Flash Live Encoder, the seek bar doesn't work right. Specifically, when I start viewing a stream which is still being broadcast live, the seek bar shows the length of the stream at the moment I started viewing it; however, the seek bar doesn't update correctly as new content continues to be appended to the end of the stream. What happens instead is that the "playhead" (not sure of the proper terminology here) moves along the seek bar until it reaches the end, and then it just sits at the end -- and the seek bar itself starts expanding to the right, off the edge of the stage!
So I assume the problem here is that I need to add some code to the publishing client. Here's the meat of the publishing code (from MyDVRPublish.as, which is the document class for MyDVRPublish.fla):

Unfortunately, I don't know of a tutorial that builds a custom client that publishes to DVRCast, but Graeme Bull created a great video tutorial that should help:

Before Adobe published the DVRCast app, Graeme played around with FMLE3 and figured out what calls it was making to the server and built his own DVRCast app. I know this is the inverse of what you want to do, but watching him reverse engineer FMLE's calls to the server will show you how to make your own publishing client.
Also, you check out the DVRCast code at rootinstall\applications\dvrcast_origin\scripts to see exactly what the DVRCast app expects the publishing client to call (and what it expects the subscribing client to call).
Roughly:
The DVRCast docs have a code example on page 11 that calls DVRSetStreamInfo. After the publisher calls DVRSetStreamInfo with the name of the DVR stream and calls NetStream.publish("streamname", "record"|"append"), the subscribing client calls DVRGetStreamInfo to get the name of the DVRStream. The subscribing client then passes the name of the DVRStream in a call to DVRSubscribe. Finally, the subscribing client calls NetStream.play("streamname", 0, -1) to play the stream.
I'll get a tutorial up as soon as I can (unless someone beats me to it), but unfortunately I have to hit some deadlines today on other projects.

Seek Bar Component Flash CS5

Hi, I've been trying to use the seek bar component in Flash CS5.
I've managed to use create my own play and pause buttons using the following code:

However, the seek bar doesn't work. It displays but there is no slider etc.
Can anyone help me out as I have very little knowledge of Actionscript!

Illustrator CS3 doesn't fully start

[Windows XP SP3]
Hi everybody,
I'm an AI CS3 user, and a few days ago, I accepted an automatic update to the 13.0.2 version. But now, when I launch it, the orange box appears, information is scrolling, and then... nothing. Other CS3 applications are ok, they can be launched. I've been watching to the task manager, in the second tab: the Illustrator process is here during the box displays, but they disappear simultaneously.
Many things have been tested:
1- Uninstall, reboot the computer, reinstall (-> 13.0.0, no update; with an update to 13.0.2, not any difference)
2- Don't start the application, remove Illustrator's Application Data folders, reboot the computer, launch AI
3- Creating another Windows user, also like an administrator
No difference, AI doesn't fully work.
Using the Windows safe mode, worst is here: each Adobe application said that I haven't been registered. One good point is that Illustrator seems to launch before the message appears.
What is the solution?

Search Bar doesn't work in normal itunes but works in safe mode

I am not sure if anyone else is having this problem but with Itunes 11.0.4 The Search bar doesn't work no matter what you type any result you get you click on it nothing happens. I recently went into Itunes Safe mode and the Search bar works fine. I really hope Itunes fixes this with the next update.
Is anyone else having this problem?

I've found a solution!
Uncheck the "search entire library" option in the search bar then check it again.

Space bar doesn't seem to work in Flash

Hey everyone,
This sounds quite ridiculous but my space bar doesn't want to work in Flash CS3. I'm a web designer and started recently for a new company. They asked me to include a flash image on one of our websites. When I try to add text to the stage, I can't make spaces. That is all. I've used flash before and I've never ran into this problem. I'm using a crappy mac if that helps at all. I'm stumped

Navigation bar doesn't work

I'm working on my website, and the navigation bar doesn't work. When I test it in iWeb, (checking the box that says "make hyperlinks active") it works fine, but when I publish it, they're dead. I can click as much as I want and they don't work.
I replaced the default title with a title that has a hyperlink to send you back to the main page. I'm wondering if this might affect it.
any tips?
the website (for now) is web.mac.com/chriscowan. As of this post, the only active links from the main page are "Music," "Podcasts," and "Words."
And yes, I have upgraded to 2.0.1

i too have been searching for an answer to this problem. found something in another post that totally fixed it. don't know if it will help you but worth a try.
check to see if a grahic box is covering your nav bar. Turn on 'Show Layout' to see the graphic boxes.

Seek Bar does not work in720???

I am using Lumia 720 for the past 15 days. I watched some of the videos on Youtube.
However, one problem I noticed is that, if I want to forward/rewind the vedio using seek bar, simply it does not work!
May I know how I can solve this problem?

Thanks, cor-el, but I don't know how to start Firefox in Safe Mode, whatever that means. Besides, I finally gave up and uninstalled Firefox 6. Now I'm using Internet Explorer because I couldn't find a place where I could download Firefox 5, the version I wish I had kept but my AVG Safe Search 10.0.0.1390 wouldn't work with us so I upgraded to FF6.

Somehow hyperlinked whole page, now navigation bar doesn't work

I was trying to add a hyperlink to the bottom of my page, and somehow made the whole page the hyper link. Now my navigation bar doesn't work. When I scroll with my mouse to show me if there is something hiding the navigation bar, the whole page including the navigation bar seems to be one image. How do I fix this? I tried starting a new page, but have trouble formatting the columns properly again. HElp??? if you want to see what I'm talking about, its the Resume page that has the inactive nav bar, and the Resumee page that I can't format right... http://web.me.com/lauren.kelly

Just checked the Resume page and the entire page, except for the navbar is a link to download your resume as a Word document. The file didn't have an extension but I added the .doc extension and it opened in Pages as a Word document.
If you don't want the document to be downloaded check the page in iWeb to see if you see the hyperlink icon somewhere on the page. Select the object it's attached to and use the Inspector/Link/Hyperlink pane to remove it as a link.
The links in the navbar are working as they should. It's just the body of the page that has an "unwanted" (?) link.

I just noticed in Peter Kahrel's ScriptUI manual (version 2.0) this note:
"Note: in scripts that use progress bars, you cannot set
app.scriptPreferences.enableRedraw to false. If you do, the progress
bar doesn't display correctly. This is on Macs only."
Not having a Mac to test this on, I'm wondering what "doesn't display
correctly" actually involve?

Try troubleshooting the Flash plugin ..
Quit Safari.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Storage tab. Click: Delete All
Now uninstall the Flash plugin then reinstall new > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Very important to uninstall the currently installed Flash plugin before reinstalling.
Launch Safari From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
Now try a video.
BTW... if you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to: Open in 32 bit mode is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

If you're running OS X 10.8.4 or later, run Wireless Diagnostics and take the remedial steps suggested in the summary that appears, if any. The program also generates a large file of information about your system, which would be used by Apple Engineering in case of a support incident. Don't post the contents here.

Help - space bar on touch not working

hi - the bottom row of my keypad (space bar etc) does not work in Safari. Seems to work fine on home page - but on Safari and games doesn't work.... Would really appreciate help - my itouch is about 3 years old. thank you

Have yo tried the standard fixes:
- reseting the iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restoring the iPod from backup via iTunes
- Restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod via iTunes

Itunes 10.1.2.17 upgrade killed my sound, music scroll bar doesn't move

After upgrading to 10.1.2.17 on 1/30/2011 all sound ceased on my system. Updated the sound card driver to no avail. No conflict in compatability mode. When song selected in iTunes, the play bar doesn't move nor do movies have audio in quicktime. There is no sound in any program.

Katrina, Thank you for your reply. I followed the directions from your link about using msconfig, and did what it said. Upon started I loaded iTunes without Bonjour running and playing songs worked fine. No delay and going from track to track was quick. So then I quit iTunes and started Bonjour like it said and it still ran fine. So it must be something I deselected in msconfig. I'll have to go back and look.
There were 3 temp files before, but I did another fresh install of iTunes and now it has only one temp file. Called Temp File.tmp. Oh I just looked now and it has another one, oops it just disappeared again. The time stamp on it for it's Modified date is Sunday February 13, 2011 5:28pm and it's Accessed time is Yesterday, February 28, 2001 11:25am, and it's Created time is Yesterday February 28, 2011 11:25am.
I use Microsoft Security Essentials for my antivirus and under it's ignore files I told it to ignore the temp file as well as the itunes library files. But was still having trouble after doing that. Using my Apple TV 2, music still played fast also without any delay. I have a fairly large library though. 140GB or so of Music, 80Gb of Movies and 10GB of Podcasts. So I thought maybe since I've been adding more Movies it caused iTunes to slow down.
I'll try rebooting now by adding Apple Mobile Device to startup and see if anything changes since it's still stopped. iPod Service is running as well as bonjour and all is ok.
Since when I did a fresh intall of windows all I did was install iTunes, so the only other startup things I have are 3 from Intel called common user interface, my microsoft security client and Keepass my password program. Only quick time and itunes are enabled in startup right now. So I will go back and add each of those things and see which one is causing the problem. Thanks again.
