ABAP Query - Local field creation error

Hi,
In SQ01, I created a query. when i try to create local field EDIT>LOCAL FIELD>CREATE. Its throwing error 'Reference field does not exist' Message no. AQ273.Can anyone please tell me how to create local field then?

Hi,
When creating a local field in a query, you need to define the type of data it will hold. There is a radio button to select a "reference field" or you can specify the type of data directly. I believe you got this error message because you selected reference field but specified no other field in the query to use as reference.

SQ01 ABAP Query - input field contains leading zeros

Hi,
I have a ABAP query where some of the values are stored with leading zeros in the table. This means that the user have to enter the leading zeros as well in the selection screen in SQ01 in order to get any output.
What I would like to do is to restrict the input in the selection screen to allow only the digits without any leading zeros. For example, the user should not enter 000000000602590, but 602590. Also, the output should be without the leading zeros.
Does anyone know how to do this in the InfoSet?

Hi Lars,
The leading zeroes are appearing because your field is either a Numeric or Packed decimal.
The leading zeroes can be suppressed if you assign the packed to a Character field.
You have option to change the datatype of the field in Infoset.
Try converting it to equivalent character type.

I am getting dump when executing ABAP Query..
Error in the ABAP Application Program
The current ABAP program "AQL4LA==========ZTST_DATA=====" had to be terminated
because it has
come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
The following syntax error occurred in program "/1BCDWB/SAPLIQ000000000486 " in
include "/1BCDWB/LIQ000000000486$04 " in
line 5:
"A FUNCTION already exists with the name "/1BCDWB/IQ000000000486SSCR"."

ABAP query issue when logoff error message query not created

Hi All ,
I created a ABAP query using SQ01 . I saved it and i'm able to see the output . But , if i logoff from the system and relogin again to system and trying to execute the query , it is showing an error message
" The query has not been created " Please help me , is there any settings change or i have to do any thing else ?

ABAP Query is working fine but users from UK wants some more fields on the layout but rest of the country users other than UK, they don't want such changes.

ABAP Query - Selection fields

Hello all,
I understand that SAP automatically generates an ABAP program for every ABAP Query wherein the selection fields are connected by an "AND" statement within the WHERE clause of the actual SELECT statement.
Is there a way to control this WHERE clause in such a way that we can use "OR" operators as well to connect some selection fields?

At selection-screen output (code section 13), set "1" to the field REQUIED by using MODIFY SCREEN code .
(You can get Dynpro number by F1 key or T-cd SE51 )

ABAP Query for Asset Reporting - Error in generating Infoset

Hi friends,
While generating Infoset - for the SAP standad infoset (SAPQUERY/AM01 -FIAA - Inventory information)-I am getting an Error as
"The field "BERDATUM" is unknown, but there is a field with the similar name". I am unable to resolve the error.
It will be greate if this can be answered by someone.

ABAP Query SAPDBx 50003 Unknown Error

Hi experts,
I'm trying to modify an Query InfoSet at SQ02 t-code. In update mode, when I press Go To -> Join the following pop-up error message appears:
Unexpected Error:
Module: SAPDBxVisualQuery.VisualQuery
Function: UserControl_Initialize
Error No: 50003
Error: Unexpected error
I have to add a couple of fields from a new table (actually, the query reads information from 2 tables, I need to add a third one).
Any idea of what does the error mean?

Hello,
In regard to the error you can check if the same problem occurs in all
your PCs. I believe that the problem is related to the SAPGUI.
This problem is documented in the SAP note 557882, so you can follow those
instructions, but I would also recommend to reinstall and upgrade your SAPGUI to the latest patch level.

AET field creation Error

Hi ,
I am getting an error "Field is zzXXX is already in use" while creating Field via AET.
It is not referencing to any enhancement ID.
Could any body tell What might be the issue behind this error.

I checked in AXTSHOW but its is say no field exists.

Running an ABAP Query with transaction gives error!

The queries are there (only in production systems), from PHX. When the queries are started from SQ00 they work.
*The question is, if this has to be done for every single query*?

When we upgraded, we had only few queries to be generated. Not all the queries were required to be generated...
Hence would depend on case to case..Better regenerate the query. This is similar to activation. Hence will not be an issues for already generated queries.

ABAP query problem.

Hi All,
I have one ABAP query which has been created for vendor details. Its using standard sap LDB KDF. Now there are some fields in vendor classification which are not there in LDB. so i need to add these fields in ABAP query.
those fields are in other tables, ehich are not been used in standard LDB.
Can anybody suggest me. Its really urgent issue.

You will need to change the Infoset using tcode SQ02 (Probably copy current infoset and change in the new one), in new info set you can add tables and even custom fields with ABAP code behind them.

ABAP Query: creation of local field (Subtraction between 2 dates)

Hi,
I want to create a local field which will calculate the number of days between 2 dates (for example, document date - posting date).
What I did:
1) Created the user group in SQ03
2) Created the infoset in SQ02
3) I'm stucked at the creation of the Query in SQ01. I'm at the «Create Query: Select field screen». I clicked on Edit --> Local Field --> Create. I selected the «calculation field» attribute. I clicked on the «Complex calculation button», but I don't know how to write my formulate DOCUMENT DATE - POSTING DATE.

     *__Adding u201CLocal Fieldu201D (user defined field) in SAP Query_ :
There is also facility to add the user defined fields in SAP query output. Also we can provide calculation formula for calculating values for this user defined field.
Calculation formula consists of standard fields from standard SAP tables. So the values fetched for particular standard SAP fields from standard SAP tables get calculated as per the calculation formula defined for the user defined field and displays the value accordingly.
To do this first go to change mode for Query which automatically takes you to screen shown below and click on icon   , as below :
Then further screen will appears. So select the Field group and again click on the same icon button   .
Then switch on the Short names for the fields and give the short names to fields which we need to use in Calculation formula.
Give the short names and then created u201CLocal Fieldu201D, as shown in below screen shot. Also Short names are given to fields, which can be used further for calculation.
Defining Local Field u201CREM_QTYu201D along with its field type and Calculation formula.
In this case we have
defined field type for new
field as similar to
ORD_QTY and
Calculation formula is
defined.
Also its possible to have Conditional logic for Local field by putting Condition in u201CConditionu201D line.
Now activate this newly added Local field for coming it in output screen. To do the same again go to u201CBasic Listu201D and activate the Local Field as shown below :

ABAP Query error

Hello! can anyone help pls?
I am in the process of constructing an ABAP query and I'm getting an error message which is quite puzzling. Here's the details:
I'm creating the query using an infoset constructed from logical database VAV. When I try to add field VBUP-GBSTA to my basic list design, I get the following error:
"You placed fields from different parallel branches of the hierarchical data source in the same line. . This makes no sense. The list will not be displayed as you desire. . List is only displayed in simple format for correction purposes. . Please check the sequence. Button allows you to color list fields according to the hierarchy. "
I don't know why this is the case, and I really need to report on that field. Any ideas would be most appreciated!

I hope you have selected VBUP also in the hierarchy in the infoset. If this is selected and the field which you are looking for (GBSTA) is assigned to a field group, then u should be able to select this in the basic list.
