Maybe you should try updating 5.1.1 from iTunes? Because I had the same thing and it was 5.0.1.

Thanks for taking the time. Unfortunately no that does not solve it. Same as swipe it will get me there and it will show separate programs spaced out. The issue I am having is that all my open word files are bunched up in a pile on top of each other. I can see the edges of each one but I want them to be separated from each other enough that I can visually identify what file is what.

i have an ipod touch 2nd generation, i'm trying to get apps that will work and i cant find any. Its says i need an update because it has ios 3.1.3 , but on itunes it says there is no update ? what apps can i get??
Sounds like you actually have a 1st generation as those cannot update beyond iOS 3.1.3.

If you can't install on top of the current installation then you need to delete or rename the current Firefox program folder to do a clean install.
It is possible that your security software is using or locking files, so you can try to temporarily disable that software during the installation. -
I am trying to install Turbo tax 2012. Ihave downloaded it but it says I do not have the correct version to open it. I am computer illiterate. When I open updates, the message says there are no updates. Can you help? Thanks

I have just purchased a 5S iphone, when I tried to sync with my Imac it comes up with "...requires iTunes version 11.1 or later.." my iTunes version is 10.6.3, I rechecked software updates but says there is no updates required??? I checked when last auto update was done which was 01/07/12 I also tried downloading from web iTunes version 11.1.5 but it wont load because I don't have min version 10.6.8. What can I do to sort this out? Note: I am a not computer savy so be easy on me.
If your computer is running an OS X prior to Snow Leopard 10.6,
the answer (if it is an Intel-based Mac; not old PowerPC model)
would be to buy the retail Snow Leopard 10.6 DVD from Apple
for about $20, and install it. Then update that to 10.6.8 by using
the installed Snow Leopard online to get Combo Update v1.1 for
Snow Leopard 10.6.8. After that is installed & updated, run the
system's Software Update again, to see what else is available to
that system.
Later systems can then be looked into at Mac App Store, once
the computer is running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
And if your computer is a Power PC (G4/G5, etc) and has no
Core2Duo kind of CPU -- See "About this Mac" in apple menu
to disclose the general info about your Mac. Also you can see
even more by clicking on "More Info" when looking in there...
If it isn't an Intel-based Mac, it can't run a system past 10.5.8.

the problem is that i launch the airport utility and it always says there is an update to 5.6.1, i click update and it launches the app store and tere are no updates available. i'm wondering if i need to reset or resetup my router but am afraisd if i do that i will loose all the files on my hard drive. I think this also may be related to why i am unable to use the remote app on my ipad or iphone for my apple tv (2nd gen) any input would be bvery helpful. i am now running mountain lion for my OSX
You must have upgraded to ML.. 5.6 airport utility is not actually ML compatible.. it will work but cannot be loaded as Apple ceased support at Lion. Hence why there are no upgrades.. you should not be using it at all. You are supposed to use toyland v6.1 included in ML.
I would certainly just ignore it.. having 5.6 is a great advantage .. it is a tool.. ML version is a toy. -
When I try opening iPhoto on my iMac (OSX 10.9.2) it says I must first download the update; when I try doing so from the App store, it says there are no updates available. Stuck in a classis Catch-22 - any ideas how I might solve the problem?
Thanks a lot for your swift response. And sorry if it was a bit too hectic to go through my detailed query (which I did because it was misunderstood when I asked previously). As I've mentioned above, I was informed that updating to 5.0.1 would '''require''' me to '''delete''' the current version and then install the new one. And doing so will involve losing all my bookmarks. I guess I should have been more specific and detailed there. By losing, I didn't mean losing them forever. I'm aware that they're secured in some place and deleting and installing the software doesn't harm its existence. What I meant that if I install the new version, I'd have to delete the old one. And after installing the new version, I'd have to transfer them (bookmarks) back from wherever they are. Get it? When it updated from 3.6.9 to 3.6.13, and from 3.6.13 to 3.6.18, I didn't need to follow that process. They were already present on their own.
BTW, I'm having no problems with 3.6.18 but after learning about the existence of version 5.0.1, I'm a bit too eager to lay my hands over it.

Updater says there is an update for my PSE9 I clicked download and screen show process of downloading then it stops and message comes up saying there was error downloading PSE9 and Camera raw. Tried it several times. Doesn't much matter cause I don't like PSE( anyway but I did pay for it. Prefer usin PSE1 and PSE7

On your iPhone se the Settings app
Settings > General > Software Update
Do you get a notice about an update there? If not the first thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. Then go back to Settings and check for an update again. If you still don't see one and you are sure that your phone is not already updated to 7.0.2 try connecting your phone to the computer you normally sync with. Make sure the computer is running tunes 11.1.1. Use the Check for update feature in iTunes on your computer. -
ITunes 7.7.1 - says there are 10 updates, downloads 42!

My iPad keeps saying there is an update available for my carrier settings
Hi There,
No matter how many times I update my carrier settings, my iPad keeps saying there is an update available. For the past 30 minuets, I have sat and clicked check for update repeatadly, but still it says there is an update available.
I am thinking there is something wrong with my iPad, that maybe it isn't installing the update correctly or something.
What could be going on here?

How much storage available on the device do you have? You need about 2.4 GB available
If you have an iPad, you can only update via wifi, not by cellular data. -
I keep getting a popup saying there's an update for my Airport Extreme, but all of my Airport devices (I have the Extreme, which is one of the original cone-shaped ones, as my base station, two Time Capsules running in bridge mode connected by Ethernet, and an Airport Express [original model] connected via wireless) are running the most recent firmware for each device.
It's harmless but extremely annoying. Has anyone else had this problem? I've tried re-uploading the firmware to all four Airport devices, but it didn't help. Is there any way to turn off the automatic checking? It's obviously not working right in any case.I assume that you have already done the basic things like powering off the entire network and restarting.
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Select the AirPort Extreme, and click Manual Setup
Click the Base Station tab located below the row of icons
Click Options near the bottom of the next window
Remove the check mark next to "Check for firmware updates"
Click Done, then click Update and wait for the AirPort Extreme to restart.
