Adobe Forms - Drop Down list

Hello,
I have two drop down list(s) in my adobe form.
1) Employee Group
2) Employee Subgroup
Employee Subgroup drop down list is populated dynamically depending on Employee Group selected on form.
Now the issue is :
If the current value of EMp Grp = 01 and EMP sub grp = 07
Now if Emp Group is changed to 02, EMP subgroup drop down is again built in backend. So the EMP subgroup gets new set of values BUT with additional row (value = 07) of previus EP subgrp.
So the values are:
81
82
83
07 (This is old value which should not come)
How can i delete this value using script and in which event?

Hi Ashish,
On Change event of the EMPgrp Dropdown say DD1 for EMPSubgrp DD2 write the code:
if (DD2.rawValue ne null)
then
DD2.deleteItem(DD2.selectedIndex)
DD2.rawValue = ""
endif
And make sure this script runs before the new values in the DD2 are fetched.

Webdynpro for ABAP - interactive Adobe form - drop down lists not working

Hi all,
I'm trying to create an interactive form for a client using webdynpro for ABAP and I've viewed the demo "Create SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe with Web Dynpro for ABAP" by Thomas Jung, but when I implement it the form following similar steps the form is not interactive.
In the properties of the "InterativeForm", I've tried clicking the "enabled" flag both on and off. I've also tried setting the "displayType" property to both "ActiveX" and "Native". But none of this worked.
I though my problem might be with Adobe reader so I switched from 8.0 back to 7.0 but this didn't make any difference either.
The system we are using is NW04s WAS 700. Any hints would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the suggestion Dezso. I've downloaded a newer version of ACF as indicated by the OSS note and installed it. I'm still having the same issue.
My basic question is what options should I be using in the form and on the InteractiveForm component? It looks like because of the evolution of the product there are multiple options available. I recall reading somewhere that as of a certain SP level we should have ZCI (zero client install) available. The would be our preference. It will be a support nightmare if each user needed a manual download of ACF.exe installed.
Should I click the "enabled" flag on the InteractiveForm object? When I create the form should I use the "Native" drop down list or the one from the "Active X" tab? I would like to use the "List Box" control on the form as well but it is only available in the "Standard" tab. So does that mean I can't get the selections from a "List Box"?

Adobe Forms Drop Down

Hi,
I have a requiremnt in adobe forms where i need to add text with a drop down values Yes/No. I created a parameter 'FLAG' TYPE QISRSUI_ATTRIBUTE_PARAM in the interface and binded the value 'VISIBLE' in the layout. Just want to know the steps to display 'Yes' and 'No' text in the drop down list. we are on EHP3.

If you know the values which need to appear in the dropdown and those values are always static then you can enter the values as an attribute of the dropdown. in the Adobe Designer, click on the 'Object' pallette and select the 'Binding' tab. Below the binding you can use 'Specify Item Values' to enter the key and text for the dropdown values.

Master detail form - drop down list in detail (ADF)

Hi,
Been racking our brains for a few days/weeks about this one, and would be grateful for any pointers why this does not work.
We have developed an in-house application for dealing with risk and chemical assessments.
The process we have adopted allows users to create an assessment first then they are taken to another form where they are then able to add risk factors/ or chemicals relating to the assessment. The intention is to present the user with the ability to select from a drop down list which contains the chemical names.
We have been going through the forums and have tried all the examples we can find (all the examples work on our system), but when we try to adapt them to our approach they create an error indicating that they cannot find the values in the entity object.
Has anyone else come across the same problem or is it that the ADF is not suited to dealing with the master/detail approach and drop down menus.
The drop down lists are in an ADF table.

Thanks for the pointer, I think we tried that one early on. For the time being we have opted for using a selectInputText box, and that appears to be working. Well at least it has got us past the deadline for yesterday, now onto the next deadline.

Adobe LiveCycle Drop Down List which allows typing to filter the values in a Drop Down list

I have a drop down list in my form with contains a lot of different numbers, text, countries, cities and states, etc.
I would like the user to either have the option to only use the drop down list or they can type "Zapple" or any portion and have it populate the value.
Is there a setting or code which I can use which will do this?
Currently, if the user types the first letter or number it will take them to the beginning of the list (since I have them listed alphabetically/numerically), but I'd prefer they can type beyond the first character and pinpoint the option they're looking for.

The whole sample will need to be updated. As I said in the email it can be done but it will be complex. This particular sample requires an external xml file. You will need to pull this from data in the form.

I have this line of code in my form that allows me to pick a select from the drop down box - [array]$DropDownArray = "user0t", "User1", "User2 - how can i swap this and have the values in a text file or CSV ?
I have tried removing the above and putting Get-Content C:\Scripts\Test.txt | ForEach-Object - but this just removes the box totally

How to get prefilled drop down list in Adobe form from WebDynpro context

Hi All,
We all know that we can have dropdown list in webdynpro which can be automatically populated by the context node collection.
How can we have the same functionality in Adobe form drop down list. I tried to bind the node attribute to drop down list in Adobe form but it shows me only first element. I am not able to see all the elements in the dropdown but if I am doing same thing for WebDynpro DropDown list I can see the complete List.
Anybody with Solution?

JSP HTML parameter form to call report - Dependent drop down list

I have a report parameter form developed using HTML & JSP to call oracle reports6i.
First parameter "STATES", Second Parameter "CITY"
I have a master-detail relation betwen STATE & CITY table.
I want the parameter form drop down lists dependant. ie if the user chang STATE value in the first drop down, the second drop down list CITY shoud
change automatically.

Vimal,
This is not functionality that's available in the Reports generated parameter form. In order to do this you'll need to build the parameter form yourself as a true HTML form and code the javascript to link the fields.

Unable to select IS from the drop down list in message mapping

Hi,
i know that we can monitor 'Integration server' in message monitoring rather than choosing integration engine or adapter engine.
But in our existing land scapes i am unable to select IS from the drop down list in message mapping.
using PI 7.1 SP 08.
please let me know that we need to set up additional configurations settings to select IS form drop down list.

There are no extra settings that needs to be done for this. I don't know whether you have noticed this, but IS option will only come up when you want to monitor the messages from the "Database" and not from the "Database overview" or "Archive".

Also expalin me how to accept them in the program once the user selects the value from the list. to populate the dropdown list you can do it...
1). manually or
2). by code(i work in java... there must be some ABAP equivalent...)
1). <b>manually</b> go to interactive form->edit
     go to Object tab->field tab ->
     you must see something like
     List Items :
     Text     + x
     click on the green + sign...
     it promps you to type. type in the value press enter... and so on...
2) <b>by Code...</b>
    //set up contents of a drop down list dynamically...

Value drop down list control in ADOBE Form

We are on SP16 currently. We are developing an ADOBE interactive online
form using ABAP WebDynpro.
To display search help of a few fields like Vendor Number, G/L Account
Number, Cost Center, we are using 'Value Help Drop Down List' control
availalbe in WebDynpro Native group.
After the form gets loaded on the broswer, first time the search help
control works absolutely fine for any of the field. But only once. Once
one search help gets displayed, none of the other search value drop
down control gets clicked. But please note that normal drop down (with
fixed values) gets clicked and allows to choose any entry from it. It
also allows to enter values into other text box controls. Only Search
Value Drop Down list stops working.
For Example: We have 2 search help drop down list controls (one for
LIFNR and another for WERKS) and 1 drop down list control (Fixed Values
to be displayed for selection).
After form gets displayed on ABAP WebDynpro, if we click on LIFNR, the
search help for LIFNR will come and it will allow to select vendor
number from it. But after that, it doesn't allow to select WERKS nor
even to LIFNR. If we click on WERKS first, it will work perfactly fine
but then, it will not allow LIFNR or WERKS after that. In any of the
case, it will always allow to select the values from Fixed Value Drop
down list.
Please note that we dont have SAP Portal into the landscape.
Is there any bug in the control?
Please provide the solution ASAP.

We are using ZCI type of form. So, I dont think there is any need to run the report for ZCI_Update.
And the display type of Interactive Form in ABAP WebDynpro is 'NATIVE' which is the same we dragged the control from (WebDynpro Native).
Is there any work around to display search helps on ADOBE Interactive forms apart of this control?

I have created a drop down list using enumerated drop down list from webdynpro native tab and binded in the object palette by giving $record.sap-vhlist.DESCR\.DATA\.FIELD.item[]* in the list items dynamically.DESCR is the field in the internal table into which i fetched data from the database table .I have written this code in a BADI.I dont know whether my form's display type is activex or native? I am not getting any values in the drop down list.can anybody please tell me what might be missing and how should i know whether my form is ActiveX or Native?

I have done a dynamic drop down list in which DESCR field comes from database table and pops into the drop down dynamically. I was working for a PCR scenario so the adobe form was called from portal.I will tell u all the required steps.It might work for u as it is working for me:
1.In the form:
I used two elements from library first is a "ENUMERATED DROP DOWN LIST NO SELECT" from web-dynpro native tab and second is "ISR_TEXT DISPLAY INVISIBLE ON EDIT MODE" from ISR controls tab.Place them one on other inthe form.
For drop down list the setting are:
     In object, field tab click on list items there in ITEMS put :$record.sap-vhlist.DESCR\.DATA\.FIELD.item[*].in ITEMS TEXT write text in ITEMS KEY write key.
     In binding,in default binding put $record.DESCR.DATA[*].FIELD.
For text element the settings are:
     In binding,default binding put Normal.
     when we select ISR_TEXT DISPLAY INVISIBLE ON EDIT MODE it automatically comes with calculated read only int he value tab.so open script editor and place the below code:
$record.DESCR.DATA.FIELD (in calculate).
2.Now the code in BADI is as follows:
In BADI we have to write the code for drop down list in the METHOD "SCENARIO_SET_ADDITIONAL_VALUES"
As i didnt change the standard BADI i added an enhancement spot in which i wrote a function module which fills ADDITIONAL_DATA. and the below code fills the ADDITIONAL_DATA .
DATA: t_t572b TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF t572b WITH HEADER LINE,
        t_t554t TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF t554t WITH HEADER LINE.

    ADD 1 TO ls_additional_data-fieldindex.

    APPEND ls_additional_data TO additional_data.
    ls_additional_data-fieldname ='DESCR_LABEL'.
    ls_additional_data-fieldvalue = t_t572b-descr.
    APPEND ls_additional_data TO additional_data.
    CLEAR t_t572b.
ENDLOOP.
For DESCR field the we have to declare DESCR_KEY and DESCR_LABEL in the place holders for key values and palce holders for default values in characteristics tab(where all the fields for the form are defined) of ur respective scenario.(where ur pcr scenario is defined)

If ur form is not called from portal and u want a dynamic drop down list the difference is put a data drop down list and in object, field tab click on list items there in ITEMS select the field into which u populated the data from the database table (this code shud be written in code Initialization in the respective interface) and in ITEMS TEXT put $ in ITEMS KEY put $.and in binding as we normally do bind it to the respective field in which the data is populated from database table.
It should work.

1 Create a simple type in the Dictionary.
2 Create an attribute "CountryNew" in the Context of type created by you.
3 Write following code in the init method of the form:

Populating values to drop down list in Adobe Forms

Hi,
We have added a drop down list in our adobe form. Our requirement is Payment Terms should be displayed in this drop down list. We tried by adding values to drop down list in object palette window by using '+' sign. But now we want to display values dynamically from table T052U. We need to bring two fields ZTERM and TEXT1. We don't want to use database connection, just from a table as an importing parameter it should be appended to this list.
Atpresent, we don't want to use webdynpro or java for getting values.
Please provide suitable answers.

cretae simple type in data dictionary i don't have any idea to create simple type in adobe forms.
For creating Simple Type------in Dictionary->Local Dictionary->Data Type->Simple Type(here right click u get create simple type).and after that choose Enumaration Here u can add values
and create a node WITH one attribute and this attribute is off Type of that simple type u created in local dictionary and bind that node with interactive form data source property ,now in interactive form drag and drop that attribte from your dataView Run your application these values will populate in your Interactive form.
