AIM app Unable to connect on specific screen name

It is able to work on a previous screen name I have used in the past, but my main name is unable to connect for some unknown reason. I receive one of two messages:
No connectivity
Or
Too many login attempts, wait to log in again (this happens because the app attempts to reconnect over and over and over again very quickly)
Both AIM and IChat on my computer will login with the screen name. I have attempted to find help on the AIM website, and on my account options, but have not been successful.
I am using an Itouch second gen with 2.2

R29,
Does the same issue occur when you try connecting to different networks? For example, you could try different WiFi networks or EDGE/3G.
A similar symptom with iChat has made it's way to discussions in the past:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1498265
Since I cannot see a way to edit the ports on the iPhone app, you may try submitting this feedback to the AIM app developer via the iTunes Store. I would also try the other troubleshooting steps in this article:
Troubleshooting applications purchased from the App Store

Hope this helps,

  • CO28: Unable to connect to Siebel Gateway Name Server

    Hello.
I'm trying to install Siebel on a WinXP machine to familiarize myself with the Case Management module from Siebel. I have tried many times, installing and uninstalling software. I keep getting this error message when configuring a new Enterprise. "CO28: Unable to connect to Siebel Gateway Name Server".
I've shortened the hostname and removed dashes as prescribed in Siebel Bookshelf.
I've always made sure the ODBC System DSN is working and authenticating correclty.
Netstat shows gtwyns listening on 0.0.0.0:2320
    What am I missing?????

    Regards,

    Abbasi,
This error message can be related with Doc ID 751784.1, here is the workaround suggested:
    1. Stop all Siebel Enteprise components (Gateway/Siebel Server/Web Server)
    2. Copy SIEBEL_ROOT/siebsrvr/IVSE.LIC to SIEBEL_ROOT/gtwysrvr/
    3. Restart the Siebel Enterprise components
    4. Use srvrmgr to confirm a connection to the Gateway Name Server can be made without error e.g.
    srvrmgr /g gateway1 /e enterprise1 /u sadmin /p sadmin
If successful a message such as "Connected to 1 server(s) out of a total of 1 server(s) in the enterprise" will be displayed.
    Hope it helps.

  • AIM app won't connect

    Hi
I just got my iPad. I downloaded the AIM app and tried to sign in and it seems like it only halfway signed in. my buddy list appears. but I cannot receive any messages and a little red bar keeps appearing and disappearing that says "connecting..." What is the problem? How can I fix it? No one I know is having this problem, and I can't find help for it anywhere.....

Unfortunately, there are so many causes for your issues, including WiFi set up, WiFi connection, port blocking by your ISP, poorly designed app, etc. etc. You should contact the app developer.

  • Apps unable to connect to internet

I am unable to connect to the internet with iChat, Adium, or Colloquy (IRC Client). Halo also refuses to connect and receive the list of servers. The only applications that seem to connect properly are internet browsers (Safari and Firefox).

Is your firewall blocking the affected apps? Check System Preferences -> Security.

  • HT201272 How can I recover past i tune purchases if I no longer remember the specific screen names used to make those purchases?

How can I recover past itunes purchases if I no longer know the screen names used at the time of the purchases?

The ability to redownload past purchases is tied up to your iTunes account, not your computer. I don't know how far back in time Apple will have kept your purchase history. Presumably they now aim to keep it indefinitely but that may not have been the case in the past when you were only entitled to a single download.

  • Remote app unable to connect to iTunes

Hi, I have my iPhone's Remote app 'paired' to my iMac's iTunes but recently, when I try connecting the remote to iTunes it just doesn't connect.  There's the message that reads "Connecting to George's iTunes..." and the spinning gear but nothing.
Has this happened to anyone? Did you guys find a solution?
I control my home music this way and when this happens the only way to fix it is to quit iTunes and relaunch it but, obviously, isn't something I want to do (as I don't want to stop the music being played).
Thanks in advance for your help and best regards.
    Jorge...

I have exactly the same problem with my Mac Mini running iTunes. Problem only occurs after Mac Mini has been on but inactive for a day or reasonable period of time. To connect using the iPhone Remote App I have to quit iTunes first then it works perfectly.
The only other applications running on the Mac Mini are EyeTv and Drop Copy. If you don't have these then they're not the problem. In Energy Saving preferences sleep is set to never so teh Mac Mini is always on.

    Peculiar.
When you show yourself logging on to an instance, wouldn't it be a good idea to then demonstrate that you've actually connected to the right instance? Instead, you do a mere count from a table. Why not, instead, do a select instance_name, status from v$instance? Then we would indeed know that an instance called TESTSID is running and that its status is OPEN. Without that, your statement that "this is how I know the database is up" is really just a faith-based proposition. The statement you show simply tells us AN instance is up: it doesn't tell us WHICH one, though (and your lsnrctl status feedback makes it clear more than one is running).
Your output from tnsping is largely irrelevant, too. TNSPING tells you whether your client can talk to a listener, and that's it. It says nothing at all about whether the instance you're trying to reach is up, down or otherwise engaged.
A better command to diagnose these sorts of things, incidentally, is lsnrctl services, because it's a service you are ultimately trying to connect to, so seeing what services your listener is aware of is more useful than knowing the status of the listener.
Anyway: your listener has been configured statically to listen for two instances (PBDPASSM and TESTSID). "Configuring statically" means simply that your listener.ora will have a SID_LIST section in which both those services are listed as things the listener should be listening for. Because they're in the SID_LIST, that's why those services are listed in your lsnrctl status report -and that's also why they're listed as status UNKNOWN.
If the instances were actually running, and unless you've set the LOCAL_LISTENER parameter in the init.ora for each instance to something weird, you would **also** see each service listed as 'Ready', because each instance's PMON background process would be registering the existence of its instance dynamically and actively with the listener. It's not saying, "Please listen for this but I don't know if it's running or not" but "here I am and I want you to listen on my behalf". So the listener does know its status at that point, and hence records it as 'ready'.
The fact that you don't have any statuses of 'ready' means the instances aren't running or they are running but unable to register with the listener (perhaps because LOCAL_LISTENER is directing them to some other listener running on another port). But if dynamic registration was not working for that reason, static registration would still be fine for the purposes of making connections if the instance was actually up. Which again raises the question of which one you managed to connect to when you did the sqlplus / as sysdba in your test.
I don't believe the case of anything is the issue here, by the way: your listener reports "testsid" and your SERVICE_NAME is asking for a connection to "testsid", so I see no problem there. It would be different if one said 'TESTSID' and the other 'testsid', but that's not what's happening.
I'd like to see the output of a ps -ef | grep PMON for this host. I'd also like to see the results of a select instance_name, status from v$instance when you do your test connection. And I'd finally like to see the output of show parameter local_listener.

  • C028: Unable to connect to siebel gatway name server"

    Hi,
We are using Oracle enterprise linux 6.3 version OS for siebel 8.1.1.7 siebel installation on oracle database.
I have installed the siebel gateway name server, but while installing enterise, it is erroring out during the gateway name server authentication.
Points ot note. checked all the below options
    1. db connectivity is working fine wt SADMIN/SADMIN user. able to conect using sqlplus
    2. able to ping the gateway port using netstat.
    3. the oracle client is a 32 bit client.
Also there is gateway.cfg file missing from gtwysrvr/bin. but the gateway service is up and running and the process is pointing to the gateway.cfg in the bin file. .
    Please suggest.
    Thanks,

  • Clusterware Installation Error - Unable to connect via private node names

    Hi,
I am trying to install Oracle 10g Clusterware on a VMware two node cluster, Linux OS.
Before starting to install the clusterware, I made sure the equivalency check passes. Also I can ping from one node to the other using the node names rac1 and rac2, and with the vips - rac1-vip and rac2-vip. However, I cannot ping the nodes, using the private IP names - rac1-priv and rac2-priv.
I have checked both the /etc/hosts and they are all setup appropriately, as shown below. Is there something that I have not set up properly? Thanks in advance...

  • Unable to connect to my home PC from my home Mac using Windows Remote Desktop

i have downloaded from the Microsoft website and also the Application from the App store and both fail to connect. i have connected to my PC using the migration assistant so they are able to recognise each other.
    on the Mac:
    - downloaded the app and also done the download from MS website - both fail and suggest to check that remote access is enabled.
    on the PC:
    - have my Ipaddress from "IPConfig"
    - have enabled remote access through windows firewall
The PC is on and has a password enabled
    Error on App:
"Unable to connect to remote PC. Please verify remote desktop is enabled, the remote pc is turned on and available on the network and try again"
both are connected to the internet and on the same home network. Can anyone please advise to any additional steps as this seems as though this should be really straightforward. as another note i don't have another firewall software interrupting - am just
using windows firewall until i can get this working.
