I googled this last night and was told to inform Apple so this is what I am doing............. Need I do more? Just ignore the previous emails?

You need to restore the phone (that is, iOS), not the backup. Those instructions have always been ambiguous. After iOS restores you should get the unlocked message, and you can then restore the backup (it should prompt you to). And you need to wait "long enough" after you got the instructions; it can take several days.

Since I live in Muscat- Oman, FaceTime is not blocked .
The thing is that FaceTime won't work ! Is there any settings related to the IP address and the DNS that can be changed to activate FaceTime here in Oman?
A general form of the question is : if I bought an iphone from a country that blocks FaceTime , how can it be activated in others that allows it ?

BTW : the explanation by Creative of the new revisions is most disturbing : the say that they refined the production process, and as result new chips generate more heat ... AND ... they are looking forward into REFINING IT MORE so that they can, here's the best part, reduce the heat emission to level that previous cards had.

OK, all in al, I would like someone (hopefully from CREATIVE) to explain it to me - first of all the wierd Extreme Gamer thing, and "the new revisions" thing.
In addition I have another question - I am willing to buy X-Fi. Right now I own a nForce2 based mobo, and in near future (I can not tell how near, or how far) I am going to upgrade the whole PC. It could happen that I end up with nF4 board. The question is : is there any way to verify which firmare version the card has (because I am aware that in case of problems with nF4's, X-Fi cards were replaced with units with new firmware). How do I tell the difference between them ?

My X-Fi is a Dell OEM one.
I assume is a new revision because the disposition of the capacitors is different to the pictures I've seen of the early X-Fi retail ones, and it has a radiator on the chip.
It's being running flawlessly on my rig for about six weeks now.
This is a brief summary of the hardware installed on it:

Now, I'm not friend of FPS's, so the only game I've played that qualifies as such is Prey, dri'ven by curiosity more than anything else. The X-Fi behaved during gameplay. No popping/crackling/crashing/jumping/skipping or hopping.
I've extensi'vely played Oblivion (absolutely brilliant, worth every penny, pity my rig can barely cope with it), Dungeon Siege II: Broken World, Final Fantasy XI (can't get over this one... everytime I decide to quit I find myself playing again) and Syberia II (I love this kind of games... pity no one does them anymore...). Again no problems.
I also played a few movies (DVD, DivX, XviD...) with no issues whatsoever.
And my music (both compressed and uncompressed) sounds brilliant.

Yes, there is a line access fee on top of the data fee, but the OP didn't say they were paying a total of $50 for their plan, but $50 for 2 GB of data which is the data charge for 2 GB of data on the More Everything plan which requires a line access fee for each line on the account.
A 2 GB single line plan is $75 with 2 GB of data, so I simply assumed the OP was speaking of the data portion of a More Everything plan.
Of course I could be wrong.
These data tiers on More Everything are clearly available to anyone looking at the data tiers available on the More Everything page. You simply have to choose the data tier you would like. Yes, Verizon recommends a data tier for the number/type of phones on your account, but you can obviously choose a different amount if you would like.

Access from an external network

Hi everyone!
I'm trying to give support to a client who has an OBIEE application.
Here's the problem: The software is installed on the network of the developer's company. This server is connected to the client's network through a firewall. This firewall has been configured to enable communication with all ports related to OBIEE (including, off course, port 9704 in wich OBIEE is running).
From the developer's company, OBIEE runs. If they try to access the application from another computer within their own network, the application runs.
Now, from the client's network the application does not run. They already checked the firewall and said everything is ok.
What I wonder is if there is some sort of configuration for OBIEE (more specifically to OC4J wich I believe is the default application server) that prevents the application from being accessed from another network. Pretty much like Apache wich by default only allows local connections.

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

You can re-download content purchased from the iBook store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen after you tap the store button in the top corner of the iBook app on your iOS device.

"SERIOUS ERROR HAS BEEN DETECTED" CS2

I own Creative Suite 2 (education version). I have the serial number for it, the disks, and it's registered under my name. I'm using Mac OSX 10.6.8 as my operating system.
I was using Photoshop CS2 last night with no problems. This afternoon, I tried opening a file in Photoshop, and my file wouldn't open. After a couple minutes of the spinning beach ball cursor, a notice popped up saying something like 'an error occurred' and something about me having to register it because the 30 day trial was up, and if I didn't register, I wouldn't be able to use the program anymore (but like I said, I own the copy of CS2, it's not a trial). And it gave me the option to register, but when I tried to, it didn't do anything and just brought me back to the same screen saying the same thing. So I closed it. But since I did that, Photoshop's been opening, showing all the tools and everything, but I still get the spinning beach ball cursor. And now a screen pops up after a while saying "Sorry, a serious error has been detected. To continue using Adobe Creative Suite, please reinstall the application".
So...I reinstalled Creative Suite 2. And it's STILL doing the same thing. Telling me to reinstall CS2 again. And NOW, Illustrator won't work, either. At least before I reinstalled it, Illustrator was working. I don't have the time or patience to keep reinstalling.
PLEASE HELP ME! I NEED THIS FIXED ASAP!

I finally found a solution!!!
Okay, so apparently, Adobe decided to stop supporting the server for CS2 back in December 2013. I did not know this.
That's what caused the problem. You have to download the programs online and use the serial numbers given here: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=cs2%5Fdownloads
It worked! And I'm back using the programs again with no problems so far.

An Abnormal Condition has been detected

Every time I go into "Disk x" window and click on the "First Play" arrow button this message comes up:
"Sorry, an abnormal condition has been detected.
Before quitting, you have a chance to save your project.
(don't use the same name as the original)"
Ignoring this message doesn't allow burning a DVD without said process being corrupted.
Encore does not crash nor behave any different at any other time.
Also, when opening a new file, initially all the tabs seem to work, until the "Remote", "End Play" or "First Play" are set.
Anyone experienced the same problem?

How do you put all your photos and videos and apps back on your iphone, once it has been restored and updated

I just updated my iphone from my laptop using itunes and all my apps, music, photos etc.. were on my mobile. But when the update was finished, my phone did not have all the apps it had on before it had completely restarted and I tried to restore my iphone using my laptop but nothing had changed and all my things that were on my iphone were gone and I have tried to look on websites to get back my photos and everything but there was no answer to my question.

First, you don't have to use such a large font setting, most of us can read just fine. Did you backup your phone before doing the update? Did you reload that update after you restored your phone? All apps can be reloaded from the App Store if needed. Have you always used this computer for all of your updates and backups? Your music can be synced from your iTunes library again also. If you did not backup your pictures or videos to your computer, you may have lost them.

Is there a way to display movies purchased from itunes from my ipad to my apple TV without internet (still using wifi)

I am going on vacation and will have a wifi network, but no internet access. I have tried to display downloaded movies from my ipad purchased on itunes to my apple TV, but get "Unknown Error -3". I can use mirroring, but not show the video. I am signed into the same account on both devices and the movie is downloaded to the ipad. The only issue I can think of is some DRM check, but I am not sure.
Has anyone been able to do this? It would be nice to be able to use my purchased movies on vacation without needing internet.

This was a big advantage of AppleTV1 - generally it did not need internet authorisation for synced material on its internal drive and was great for holiday/vacation.
I tend to use a Mac Mini these days when going away.

You would have to set up the same iCloud account using the same Apple ID on your new phone as you were using on your old phone, then turn photo stream on. Note: photo stream photos are only kept for 30 days. After that they are removed from photo stream but not from any device that has already received the photos. If you have photos older than 30 days in the photo stream album on the old phone, they will no longer be available to stream to your new one. (If these older photos are still in the photo stream album on your old phone, you could save them to the camera roll, then import them to your computer and sync them to the new phone.)
