Animation different in simulator and device?

Hi,
I have an application that uses the UIViewAnimationCurlUp and UIViewAnimationCurlDown that in the simulator appear to be like a fade in and fade out.
However, when I test my app in the device (iPod Touch) the animation is not like in the simulator. It plays as if a page is passed from the bottom right corner to the upper left corner and back. Is there another animation that does the fade in / fade out animation like in the simulator?? Any help appreciated,
Thanx

Same here. I like the Fade In and Out. Is this not possible to get this on the real device?

  • OpenGL ES colors different in simulator and device

I have an iPhone app that uses openGL ES. My colors and textures are fine when I build and run in the simulator, but when put on my device (iPod Touch), most colors turn to a shade of grey. Some colors, like a pure yellow comes through, and one texture looks like it is there, but other colors and textures are all greyshades.
I have changed the code (from the sprite example, where all the openGL code was pulled for the starter code):
    eaglLayer.drawableProperties = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys:
    [NSNumber numberWithBool:FALSE], kEAGLDrawablePropertyRetainedBacking, kEAGLColorFormatRGBA8, kEAGLDrawablePropertyColorFormat, nil];
to use the kEAGLColorFormatRGB565 color depth, with no affect, still mostly greys except one solid yellow and one texture.
Anybody have any thoughts on where I should look?
Thanks in advance for any info.

  • Can I use 1 computer with 2 different iTunes accounts and devices? We're afraid we're going to wipeout one library or the other if we do??

My son got an iPhone and wanted his own iTunes account. Now his computer died, and he wants to connect to his iTunes account on my computer. When it asks to sync the computer, a message comes up and we're afraid either his or my library are going to be wiped out by trying to do this. Is it possible to use 1 computer with 2 different iTunes accounts and devices without wiping out one of the libraries? Thanks for any info.

If the content was not originally purchased/synced to the device from your computer it will erase and replace the content from the device with that of the computer. If you have content that you want to backup you can transfer purchases http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1848 check this link out

Hi abdelahad, and welcome the the Dev Forum!
To install and test your app on the device, you need to be accepted into the iPhone Developer Program, which requires a $99 USD annual fee. Membership provides you with additional resources in addition to the documents necessary for testing on your device and uploading your finished app to the iTunes store. Go to [http://developer.apple.com/iphone/program> for more info.
Once you're accepted into the program, you'll have access to the program "Portal" where you'll find detailed instructions on how to download and install your private developer key, along with your certificate, and provisioning profiles.

  • Add 3D Modeling, Simulation, and Animation to LabView

I am posting to announce the availability of RoboWorks software.
RoboWorks is an easy to use software tool for 3D modeling, simulation
and animation of any physical system. It provides an inexpensive
alternative to hardware (especially robotic) and brings 3D simulation
to every desktop. When using RoboWorks you will benefit from:
    * Extremely intuitive model development
    * High quality, fully interactive 3D graphics
    * Lightweight files that conserve disk space
    * Full animation, even while building your model
    * Interfacing with popular software packages
Most analysis and visualization software such as Matlab, MathCad, and
LabVIEW support graphics limited to charts and graphs. RoboWorks adds
    3D modeling a
nd animation capabilities to these software packages. Now
you can do your analysis in the software of your choice and visualize
and animate your results in RoboWorks.
RoboWorks supports interactive animation via the keyboard (animate as
you build your model), through a data file, or through RoboTalk.
RoboTalk is an Open Source applications programming interface that
allows programs running on any platform that supports TCP/IP to
interact with and control RoboWorks models in real time. For example,
your control program running on Linux can now control your mobile robot
    simulation in RoboWorks in real-time.
RoboWorks comes with full-featured help and a variety of sample models
such as those shown at left. Also included are sample RoboTalk
programs, LabVIEW support, program-interfacing support through DLL's
and RoboTalk source code for non-supported platforms.
For more information email us at [email protected] or visit

Well, what you mention in your two sentences is somewhat of an Oxymoron. 3D modeling and animation, decent software and simple to use don't belong in the same sentence let alone paragraph. This is a FCP forum but I'll answer with my 2cents as I am a motion graphic artist that does 3D animation. There are about 6 different 3D applications that are worth their salt. Maya, 3ds Max, Softimage, Cinema 4D, Houdini and Blender. All are quite capable. None are what I would call simple to use. If you want to do 3D animation you need skills in modeling, texturing, rendering, lighting, rigging, animation, dynamics, drawing and script programming just to get started. If you are not up to spending the time and effort in having someone train to learn these skills and to spend the $$ for the hardware and software, what I would recommend is outsourcing your initial projects to get you started so you get an appreciation for what is really required to do the job and then once you understand all that is needed, you will have a better understanding of what software would fit for what you are trying to accomplish.
    BTW I do freelance work.

  • I have 3 iphones, an ipod touch and an Ipad on the same itunes account.  should I have a different account for each device?  If so how do I get all my purchases, like music on all the devices?

You can sync as many devices as you want to the same iTunes account, there is no limit. You can have the same content on each device or different content, the choice is yours. iTunes will keep everything straight, by device, including separate backups. I'd suggest giving each device a unique name, to make things easier.

  • What is the best way to manage multiple devices with one iMac - different users with seperate itunes accounts or one mac user with different itune logons and libraries?

    Hello
I have just purchased an imac which I am very happy with.  In our household we also have two iphones (one mine and one husbands) and one ipod (my sons). We all have individual itunes accounts set up on our previous computer (not a mac). We have sepereate apps and music, although there may be the odd occasion where we would like to share a song (if this is possible) across devices.
I am just wondering the best way to manage these devices using the new imac.  Should I create individual accounts to logon to the imac, then from within these launch our own itunes accounts and sync our devices with these.  Or should I be using one version of itunes, logging on to this with our different itunes usernames and storing things in libraries.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

I am presuming that we cannot share downloaded apps and music between accounts because of the copyright issue,
Though I'm no copyright lawyer, as long as it's within a household, you can share content among users. Such sharing is, absent specific language preventing it not present in the iTunes Store terms of use, generally considered to be "personal use". So you can share apps and music amongst your users on your computer and with their devices. You just can't give any of that content to friends or relatives who don't live with you.
What I am not clear on, it making sure that this appears in each itunes account - is it easy to find the file storage folders that match the itunes accounts and what would these be?
The iTunes library and files are by default in a user's Home/Music folder. But you don't have to find the folder; in fact putting a file into the folder yourself won't add the file to iTunes. Just drag the file into the iTunes window. iTunes will copy it to the correct location.
    Regards.

  • Can you use 2 apple tvs on the same network with different apple ids and how would your devices know which apple tv to stream to?

    Hi,
I was looking into purchasing 2 apple tvs and was wondering if they can be setup with different apple ids. I need to have mine setup with my id and be able to hook my devices to it , but have the one in a bedroom hooked to a different apple id and have my friend's devices stream to that one and not mine.  Is this possible?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order that your Apple TV only streamed from your iTunes Library and your friends to your friends, you would both have to have different homesharing ID's.
So far as devices go, any device on a network can stream over AirPlay to an Apple TV, to ensure each of you couldn't stream to the others device you can enable a password via the Apple TV which would then need entering when you used a device for AirPlay.
Shouldn't be a problem to do what you want to do.

  • Exporting animation using Save for Web and Devices problem

The animation plays as it should when the "Play" button is pressed at the bottom of the "Save for Web and Devices" Menu , but when I Preview it the individual frames don't disappear once they've shown , so you can see them all at the end of the animation . This is also how they save as a .gif ( although using the "Save as html" option reverts to looking as it should , each frame appearing and disappearing in turn) How do I save as gif without this happening? Many thanks for any help

Thanks!  It was under the object - slice.  You've saved my sanity

    Hi Imminnie,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  If iTunes doesn't recognize your iPod touch, this article may help:

  • Edge Animation having troubles with iOS devices within Muse Site

Hi All! I've been creating a mobile version of my website www.rinkdesigns.com and have it all complete. I created an animation/navigation bar within Adobe Edge Animate and imported it into Muse. It functions AMAZINGLY on my Nexus 4 (Android) in Chrome but on a buddies iPhone 5 Chrome only loads about 3/4 of the animation/nav bar, in Safari the animation does not load at all and half of the page background does not load either. Please check out the preview site here http://rinkdesignsmobile.businesscatalyst.com/phone
Has anyone else been having animation/mobile troubles with iOS devices? Any hints as to how you fixed your errors would be extremely helpful! I also posted this question in the Muse forum and haven't gotten a response...
    Thanks,
    John

    Or, how about this:
Does anyone know how to have Edge Animate objects that utilize "_top" in an open url trigger make the Muse site that they are a part of open a new window/tab with that action (as opposed to having it open the url in the current page, or using "_blank" in the trigger)?

  • Questions on managing iTunes content and devices?

I've been a subpar iTunes user for several years now and I figured it was time that I just started asking some questions in order to get help. I love all my different iOS devices, but at times it seems that it's extremely difficult to manage content amongst the devices as well as my different computers (I use a PC for personal use and a Macbook for work.) My wife also has her own iOS device (Which we just use my AppleID on to keep all purchases under a single account) and a PC. So it seems like a constant juggling act to keep my content properly managed.
The new iCloud stuff looks like a wonderful step in the right direction for helping manage content on my different devices, but I'm still a little curious about the best way to go about storing, sharing, and accessing content. So all that being said, here's my current setup and questions.
First of all, I have my iTunes Media Folder on set to save everything to a Network Attached Storage I have at my home. This is the version of iTunes that I run off of my PC, which I guess I would say is my primary source of iTunes usage and how I generally choose to manage my content and move things to and from my iOS devices. Everything works out pretty well until I try and manage my content on any other computer.
Creating a consistent storage location on a NAS
My first basic question is, "Is it possible to have multiple versions of iTunes on different computers point to the same Media Folder?" If I could have all of my iTunes folders work off the same Media Folder that would probably help cut down on the confusion. However, I'm not exactly sure if this is just a matter of giving them all the same path to use or if there's additional permissions and things that must be setup. Also, what happens if I decide to purchase content through iTunes and I'm not connected to my home network, so the content cannot be saved to my NAS? Does it save to a default location that I can just later move to my NAS?
    Home Sharing
What exactly is "Home Sharing"? I've read a little bit about it but I'm not 100% sure what it actually gets me since I already have a NAS. Is this what I need for setting up multiple computers to share the same Media Folder? Do I need this at all since my data is located on a central NAS on our home network?
    Syncing devices from multiple computers
One of the biggest headaches I get with trying to manage content across multiple computers and devices is that I have to use one specific computer to Sync and Manage content on a device. For example, I have my iPhone synced to iTunes on my PC so I can edit and manage music on that device from my PC. But if I'm at work on my Macbook and decide I want to make some changes to Music I have there, then I have to sync my device to the Macbook, effectively wiping all the current content on my phone. Is there no way around this?
    iCloud Questions
I have content that I've purchased on my iPhone or iPad and want to download it from the cloud to my PC or Macbook, or my wife's computer. Do I have to "repurchase" this content in order to do that, or does it just download directly for free since I've already purchased it before?
I apologize if any of these are "silly" questions. I've tried to read up on this stuff but I still have difficulty completely understanding it.

Quote: "You cannot merge two or more Apple IDs into a single one. You can, however, use one Apple ID for iCloud services and another Apple ID for store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match). See “Using one Apple ID for iCloud and a different Apple ID for Store Purchases” above for details." See also Apple ID & iCloud FAQ: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4895?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
You can set up your iCloud account on your iOS device under: "Settings > iCloud" and a other account for store purchases under "Settings > iTunes & App Stores". Unfortunately merging accounts is not possible but you could transfer all of your music manually via iTunes from your Mac or PC.
