Another Desktop in the innerdesktop Page

Hello Everybody,
Can somebody guide on this, is it possible to call another desktop page within an existing desktop's inner desktop page. I want one user to access another branding content inside the innerdesktop page which has a different look and feel. Now i am thinking that if i design another desktop which has a different theme altogether and then call that desktop in the innerdesktop page of the outer user desktop. Can anybody suggest any solution for this..right solution will be rewarded suitably.

I have installed Version 7.0.1. on my Laptop and Desktop, but the home pages are different

I was invited to update my laptop version of Firefox to version 7.0.1. I did this and was quite impressed by the new home page format with a single button to address the Menu Bar, Bookmark etc. I decided to update my Desktop Computer to the same version by downloading the latest update, but when it was installed, the Home page format was not change to the new format. I decided to use the same installation file I had used on the Laptop, but the format was not changed. So I am puzzled as to why there are two different format results using the same installation file. Does anybody know of a way of ensuring the new format can be invoked on my desktop?

Unfortunately, your reply has not answered my question. On my Laptop, to access the Menu bar, there is a Red button in the top left hand corner of the Home page and clicking this button revels all the Menu Bar functions, On the Desktop machine, installed with the same installation file, the Red button is not available but the old Menu bar is. I would prefer the button and less cluttered home page, which the Laptop What's New page proclaims is the new format. How do I make the new proclaimed Format the default on my desktop and why the difference from the same installation file. I have attempted to use your upload images facility, but I have received an error message each time I try to upload an rtf file which includes an image of each each of the Home pages!

Html Portlet links displaying in another portlet on the same page

I have seen similar posts but no detailed explaination of how this is done.
I have an html portlet with links whose content I would like to display in an inline rendering portlet on the same portal page. How can I pass the link url from the html portlet to the inline rendering portlet?

If your environment is fairly static, you can handle this easily.
The link in your HTML portlet must refer to the page URL of the portal page on which the HTML portlet resides (which changes from portal page to portal page), to which you need to append the parameter that your "inline" portlet (under which I'm not sure what you mean) reads:

Filtering a Report on the active record of another Report on the same page

Hello,
I have a Form and Report on the same page in an APEX app. The interactive report is used for sorting/filtering etc. and the Form is used to present the data for one record at a time, as well as allow updates in selected fields. This was done using the wizards, the little 'edit' button is clicked to change the form to the selected record.
I also have (or want to have) a second non-interactive report on the page, which displays some records based on the record of the main report that is currently selected and appearing in the form.
I tried doing a simple 'SELECT fields WHERE link field is equal to main report', but it always says no data found.
Basically, I need to be able to have a query for the second report that says 'SELECT these fields WHERE the site is equal to the site currently being displayed in the form'.
When the little pencil/paper 'edit' button is clicked on a report, does this set some ActiveRow or something like this that I can use to filter the second report?
As you can tell from this post, I am in my database skill infancy, and any literature/pointers on how to achieve this (outside of MS ACCESS...) would be appreciated.

Okay, I have somewhat got my head around Column Links, and have put the key link field into the URL:
The value is P4_MDF, and in this URL example it has taken the value of 'WLAH01'

Now I just need to work out how to use this value in the URL to filter the classic report.
I have used this query:

As CCP in the report im trying to filter is the same as MDF in the IR that I am clicking the Column Link

When I try and open another link from the web page it won't open

Open a web site, click on a link to another site or page and it flashes"loading" on tab, but doesn't load the page

removed firefox and installed V.10. Back to normal! Interestingly did not have problemm on Blackberry so not sure where the problem was!!!!!!!!!

Adding files from another desktop on the same computer

I am new to this discussion and I did a quick search to see if anything turned up similar to this question. My husband and I have our own desktops on our Mac; he has several songs that I want from his iTunes library and vice versa. We can't figure out how to add files from each other's library to save our lives. When I go to the import section of iTunes, I can get to his desktop, but there is a little stop symbol with a "-" sign next to his music folder. It is probably very simple, but short of burning a disc and doing it that way, I can't figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The stop/- sign means the folder is read protected. You can only (by default) use his public folder. To transfer items via copying them over the network you would need to log in as an administrator (most likley as his account) remotely. This will give you acccess to all of his folders.
If you want to copy between folders on the same machine you need to be an administrator. Try logging in with the admin account.
If you want to just share the music you can do that too. In OS X Preferences -> Sharing -> Firewall -> check the share iTunes Music checkbox.
In iTunes you would then need to go to iTunes Preferences -> Sharing -> Make sure both the share button and the "Looked for shared music" and "Share my Music are checked" are checked.
Do this two both machines.
And you should then see a folder in iTunes with the other music.
If you are on a network this works out well with out having to duplicate two sets of data/mp3s.

Showing content in another region on the same page using url

Hello Experts,
I have a page with two region, say region A and region B. Region B is a sql based report that shows rows of information about a set of files with the first column rendered as an URL for the actual file itself. On clicking this url the file content is displayed in the same window replacing the existing content. I would like for this file content to be shown in the region A, without replacing the entire window. Is this possible?. I tried assiging a static id to region A and use it in the url, however that is not working and i am still in the process of figuring this out.

When you click on the link , get the URL and show the link in an iframe
Suppose your report links are rendered like(HTML code of the report)

As an additional comment: Showing an entire html page(or a file) inline in a report might not be visually appealing, try opening it as a modal popup.

Using Link from one region as parameter to another region on the same page

I have a page with two regions.
Region 1 has a list of items that are dispalyed as links
Clicking on a specific item I need to have a calendar report displayed using the value of the link for eg
Region 1 Region 2
abc Calendar based on the link selected in region1

I spent quite a few hours after this was posted trying to figure it out and I did.
Select Mailbox > Export Mailbox. This asks you a location to export the mailboxes to. It just uploads the exported mailboxes into Dropbox.
Then change the User that I want to import the mailboxes into. Select Import and select the location of where you placed the folder in Dropbox. This then imports the mailbox into a folder called Import. You then drag and drop the copied mailboxes from the Import folder to the folder in the structure you have. If you decide to delete the folders from the import folder list, do this. You can also delete the copied folders from Dropbox if you wish.
Took a while, but I got there and I'm happy now....

App size says one thing in it's info and another thing on the sync page.

I'm trying to sync my new application to my ipod touch. on the store it says that the app is 576mb
if I go to the apps section of itunes and right click and select "Get info" it says 576.5mb
in the apps tab for the ipod touch it's size is 1.22gb
I know this is a universal app, but it shouldn't be installing the ipad assets, right? because that's the ONLY thing I can think of.
My ipod has 860mb free and it won't let me download it OR sync it to my ipod.

the app is Puzzle Quest 2, by the way.

Dynamic dropdown based on user selection of another dropdown on the same page

hi all, ok, I have a table which contains use data, a name,
and a userID. for the example lets say "Simon Bullen" and my userID
is "999".
on a form I have, there is a dropdown box, which is dynamic
from this table, and allows me to select Simon Bullen, however, I
have a hidden field on the form, which when the user selects "simon
bullen" the hidden field populates with the appropiate U number
from the same table.... no i thought this would do it:

and then my dynamic form field (hidden) would reference to

You could make the value of the option the UserID and the
option display the name.
If that isn't what you need, I think you'll need some
javascript to populate your hidden field based on what is chosen in
the select.
I think you can modify this:

If there's a way to do that without JS I'm not aware of it.
A third possibility: look up the UserID (based on the name
chosen) after the form is submitted then do with it whatever you
need to.

Can you go back to second page of your menu without going to the main page.

I have created main page (first play) and second page for the chapters.
On the second page, after selecting any chapters, I want to go back to select another chapter from
the second page, But the dvd takes me back to the main page instead of second page. Can this be
corrected.

Hi - welcome to the discussions.
Yes, it can be corrected - what you've done is set the menu call and/or end jump to go to the main menu. This is completely normal, but sometimes you don't want this to happen.
If you are playing a single chapter at a time and want to get back to the chapter menu afterwards then the best thing to do is to create a story and put the single chapter inside that. Point your menu buttons to the story container (not the chapter) and it will play. Stories are a little like tracks in that they can have end jumps and menu calls of their own. Simply click on the story, then use the commands in the property inspector to set up the place to go at the end of playback or if the user presses the menu button.
You would then repeat this for every chapter that you want this to happen for.
The whole track itself then acts as a 'play all' if you need it to - the stories do not interfere with this. You can set a different end jump and menu call for the track. An alternative would be to create a final story and put ALL of your chapters into it, and point your 'Play All' menu button to this story.
Stories can also be thought of as playlists (like in iTunes) where you set up the chapters you want to play back in the order that you want them. I would avoid making these too complex, however as it has a knock on effect on the way the DVD player has to work to make a smooth playback.
The other way to achieve what you want is to use some scripting, but there is no need to do this as it sounds as if stories will do all that you need.

How to make a link in a report open a Form in a different region of the same page ?

I developped a report and a form for the same table. I also created a link and used it in my report so that when I click on the link of one record, the form is opened and display this record.
My problem is that when I include my report as a portlet and I click on a link, the form is opened in full screen mode by replacing the page containing my report.
What should I do in order to open this form in another region of the same page ?

I presume that the two regions are working fine with their individual buttons and your issue is how to make them both save with one button.
Here is how
a. You will have 2 ApplyMRU and 1 ApplyMRD processes for each of the regions. Right? Lets say you have 2 "Save" (i.e. label=Save) buttons, one has name SUBMIT and the other SAVE ( SUBMIT and SAVE being the requests that will be sent when they are clicked , respectively)
b. Make the Display condition on one of the buttons 'Never'. Now it won't show when you run the page. Lets say you made SAVE's conditional Display 'Never'
c. Go and change the condition on all ApplyMRU and ApplyMRD processes from "When Button Pressed" to "Request is contains in Expression1". In Expression1 enter SUBMIT,SAVERegards

How to open another iView in the same window

What's with the micro-pages??

I understand each of the following:
1) maximized window
2) minimized window
3) tabbed page
4) custom-sized window
What I do NOT UNDERSTAND is after Restoring (Maximizing) a Minimized window in Task bar, having to scan desktop for the "micro-page" (in upper LH corner) resulting from Restore command.
My two (2) questions:
A) What's with THAT?
B) What's the FIX?

Firefox usually tries to remember the size of the last closed "restored" window, so if you stretch the window out to a more normal size and make sure to close that one last, hopefully it will stick.
If it doesn't stick, one of Firefox's settings files may have become corrupted. Renaming that settings file will cause Firefox to return to its default window sizes and also will clear any toolbar customizations.
If you would like to try this:
(1) Open your personal settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
(2) Switch back to Firefox and exit the program (e.g., Firefox > Exit or File > Exit)
(3) Wait a few moments for Firefox to finish updating files in your settings folder, then rename '''localstore.rdf''' to something else, like localstore-bad.rdf or localstore.old. Alternately, you can delete the file.
(4) You're done with your profile folder and you can restart Firefox now.

Why can't I open another tab in the current window anymore?

I have not had an issue with this problem until today. I have had my laptop since May 2010 and I have been using firefox the whole time. Today, my roommate used my computer, but used internet explorer. Since then, I have not been able to open another tab on the current page.

Perfect solution. The resolution was not letting me get past the user agreement and into the iPod settings.
