Apps are frozen. What to do?

(iPod 4th gen.) I tried to download two apps and they froze, then I tried updating two other apps but they also froze. I tried double-tapping, restarting, connecting to iTunes, etc. I don't know what else to do, help

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Reset time, press and hold both the power and home buttons for 10-15 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Release both buttons. Wait 15-20 seconds till your iPad starts on it's own. Check the downloads.

What a relief !
Thanks to "stevejobsfan 0123 in sunny California. His suggestion to another member was , I quote "Try a reset:
Hold the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears.
Worked a treat
Safe no losses.
Once the ipad2 restarted there was a message saying the apps (which were frozen mid install), could not be purchased at this time , please try again .

Some of my apps are frozen on my iPhone I do I fix it?

Try downloading any free app from the store (as that appears to reset something), and then re-try your apps - the free app can then be deleted.
If that doesn't work then try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot

several apps are frozen on waiting...I cannot delete them because there is no X to delete

If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.

Another thing to try - Turn the iPad Off & then back ON.
If that doesn't work:
• Log out of your iTunes store account. Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
• Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
• After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

I had to restore the setting and now my apps are frozen with a waiting signal

Most of my Apps are frozen on my iPhone 4S. I cant open them since I had to do a restore because I lost all of my contacts in my address book. When I restore setting were completed most my apps were shown waiting but frozen.

How many apps are trying to update - only one will download at a time. Have you tried tapping them to see if that gets them to resume loading ? You could also try a reset and see if they resume loading after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I am updating apps and there are about 10 Of them frozen on "waiting"... I can't even delete them ... How do I fix the problem?

And feel free to try any of these suggestions as well.

Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.

You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

TS3274 I have the original iPad- 18 mos old. I tried to download an app that required flash player. Went to the apple store and was told to update my software to iOS 5.1.1. I did and now everything I had previously installed as apps are frozen. :( HELP!

I have the original iPad- about 18 mod old. I tried to download an etool program and it required iflashplayer. My iPad wouldn't do it. I went to the apple store and they told me to update my software to iOS 5.1.1 which I did . Now none of the apps I had installed prior to this work. The icons are still on my screen but when you touch them, it just blinks and nothing happens..like the screen is frozen. How do I restore all of these apps and favorites that I had on prior to this update? Please speak in very non- tech terms if possible. I am VERY low tech unfortunately!

You must use iTunes. Connect your device to your computer, open iTunes, select your device in the sidebar and press Restore. Then, you can restore your device from a backup, and sync the device with iTunes to transfer your files to it pressing Sync button

Some apps are stuck, what should i do ?
