Change Product Category dynamically as per account assignment in SRM 7.0

Hello,
We have recently upgraded our systems to SRM 7.0. I have a requirement where I need to change the product category of an item in shopping cart everytime the user changes the account assignment category from Cost centre to Network and visa-versa.
The issue is that we dont have product category in the accounting view of the shopping cart. It is available in the Item data component in the detail tab.
What I need to know is how can we change the value of a field (Product category) which is located on a different webdynpro component based on the value of some other field(account assignment category) in the current dynpro.

If you are on SRM 7.0 then in IMG
extension and field control ->configure field control->configure control for fields of substructre
under defult meta data -
add structres related to bus type 2121 like ( account assignment category , account distribution indicator, cc description, g/l description fields   etc....)
this will resolve the problem

    Just make sure all the relevant dependent objects are in the transport request. This error normally comes when there are few elements not maintained in the transport request or in a different transport request.
    You can try releasing the request if you are confident and if there will be some error try to identify the problem.

  • Vendor error message in sourcing cockpit when change product category

    Hi there
    We are having a problem when changing the product category in the sourcing cockpit.
    The product category is linked to a vendor list. When you change the product category in the sourcing cockpit and choose a vendor by doing a vendor search and then click create purchase order, it still gives the error message "please choose vendor". Somehow it is not reading the vendor.
    Is there any way to solve this with a note or something?

    when you display the cart in work area , the vendor would have picked .i think you can see in one of the basic data .
    dont you try to prosose a source of supply and assign sos.
    i am not sure where mistake has happened ?
    can your business allows you to complete the cart and create a new cart since all our data is different
    once you change the product category.  for eg. it linked with purchasing group upon responsibility of product group and this purchasing group linked with purchase organisation internally and vendor....so..on .
    one small change product category impact data more..
    it is not recommend to change the product category here. product category may link with responsible purchase group and purchase group is linked with purchasers w.r.t purchase group .

    I have maintained the B and F combination in the customization.
    But when I am creating the PR using item category B with account assignment F (order) and after pressing enter, this account assignment F vanished from the PR and that field also turns in to gray mode. So system is not allowing to use u2018Fu2019 with B item category.
    Have you used or tested this scenario of using combination item category B with account assignment F (order) in PR and PO.

  • Not able to change delivery address in PO having account assignment cat M

    Hi All
    We have a scenario where we are creating SO then a PR is getting created from this SO and finally buyer is converting Preq in to PO (account assignment is M as it is against a customer order), now by default the delivery address in PO is coming to that of customer address , but we want to change this delivery address to that of a location where some assembly work will be done. But system is not allowing us to change the delivery address, as soon as we change the address system overwrites it with the original customer address.
    Please provide your valuable inputs.

    Thanks Jurgen for providing the OSS information though still as per the note Delivery address field should be in display mode but we are able to edit the delivery address but after pressing the "Enter" key system overwrites it with the original customer address. Anyways point is we can not change the delivery address in PO in such case.
    Now I am worried how to handle the below scenario , it would be great if you can provide some inputs.
    Our client is selling big equipments to customers and an equipment consists of many components. Now when a customer order comes , sales team punches the SO in the system where BOM explosion happens and it creates Preq (because all components needs to be delivered to customer, 3 PDS situation), Buyer converts Preq into PO (account assignment M and there comes SO info under account assignment in item details of The PO).
    All the components under an equipment comes from different supplier but for some compeonents instead of direct shipment to customer we need them at an isolated location where some assembly work will be done and that assemled thing will be then delivered to Customer. So to communicate to the supplier that the component needs to be dlivered at some other location and not to the customer location I was trying to change the delivery address as by default for such orders customer address comes in the PO.
    Any pointers how to map this business sceneraio.

  • "Add to Shooping cart" button does not work when changing Product Category

    Dear all, we are running SRM 4.0 Classic scenario and we have a strange problem with Product Category field. When click on the "Describe Requirement", it opens the shopping cart page with the Product Category field and the default value is coming from favorites. As long as you dont change this value , enter the other fields and click on the "Add to shopping cart" button, then it works. If the users try to change this value on this page to select a different value from the drop down, then the "Add to Shopping Cart" button does not work. Has anyone encountered this problem before. Users are getting frustrated with this behaviour. Any help to fix this issue is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Dear Disha, this is what is the behaviour.
    Suppose, if for a particular user, there are 4 items listed as favorites in the Product category and one of them is a default value. If you don't make any changes to this value and then click on Add to Shopping Cart, it works. If you try to select a different value other than the default from the favorites, then the Button does not do anything.You click on it nothing happens and cannot go to the next page. Also all the links are disabled (ie Describe Requirement / Old Purchase Order and Template)
    If we dont change the value for Product category and go to the next page (with default value) and then change the Product category here, it works (Continue button works and were able to Order or Hold).

  • Change account assignment category for services with ME22N

    Dear guru ,
    i have created a purchase order for a position with item category D(service) and account assignment category K(cost centre). I have inserted for the accounting view the cost center.
    After the saving If I a try to change the purchase order position with ME22N the system donu2019t allow to change the account assignment category (F order instead of K).
    I have verified that for other positions with account assignment category K(cost centre) but for Item category blank(standard) the system allow to change the account assignment category if not exist goods receipt or invoice.
    Whatu2019s the problem about services ?

    Usually the Account assigned PO's are fixed with Account assignment, you cann't modify the account assignment once it is saved.
    It depends on the IMG settings for Account assignment category.
    Check the following IMG Settings
    SPROMMPurchasingAccount assignment-Maintain account assignment categories
    Here check for "K" --Costcentre in the detailed information if the checkbox at Acct assignment changable then only you can modify the Account assignment category modification in PO, otherwise not possible.

  • Product category creation and g/l account assignment updation

    Hi all,
    I have created new product categories and updated g/l account assignment table for the same. The process i have followed is as follows: -
    1. created material groups in R/3 (transport request moved from DEV to QA)
    2. replicated the same in EBP through R3AS t-code for DNL_CUST_PROD1 object
    3. updated product categories, account assignment category and g/l account  assignment table in EBP customization through SPRO(transport request moved from DEV to QA)
    After these steps, when i tried creating shopping cart in EBP QA and entered newly created product category, assigned G/L account is appearing in cost assignment tab successfully. But if older product category is selected, assigned G/L account is not popping up and error message " No G/L account entered, enter G/L account" is generated.
    When i checked BBP_DET_ACCOUNT table, all entries including older as well as newly created product categories exist along with assigned G/L accounts.
    Please if anybody can suggest a way out or reason for the same.
    Moreover please let me know whether I am following correct method to add product categories to existing list.

    Hi Ravi,
    Are you sure you have the good log_sys in your table ?
    In other words logical system in DEV = logical system in QA ?
    Be careful to not copy product category guid from DEV to QA !
    The product category guid (unique identifier) is system client dependant...
    A manual assignment in QA is necessary.

  • Changing Account assignment reference after posting flows to accounting

    Hi All,
    Is there a way for me to change the account assignment reference after I posted some flows in the past for a interest rate financial instrument? 
    I need this because accounting wants to change the GL account posting for legal fees from one GL to another when a long term debt changes to a short term debt (less than a year away from maturity).  I was assuming that changing the account assignment reference in TPM28 would work.  Is this true?  I do not want to transfer any of the old postings but anything moving forward.

    The issue is I can do valuation class transfer for securities or loans (TPM15).  But I have my long term debt in the money market area (Interest rate instrument with product category 550).  I have assigned company code, transaction type, product type to determine the account assignment reference.  So I am not able to do a valuation class transfer I think.  Is there any other way?
    I tried to access TPM82 & TPM15M & it says 'Function not allowed'. We are on Ehp5.0.
    Am I missing something?

  • Change in account assignment for Limit Order SRM not replicated to backend

    User has made in SRM (5.0 Ext Classic scenario) a limit shopping cart with Invoice and Confirmation and Acc. assigment 'Known' . This resulted in a PO with has been replicated to backend . In MM PO with Imtem category 'D' has been created.
    The user know reports that he has made wrong account assignment and asks for change so that the new cost assigment appears in his Confirmations as proposal.
    Normally I am able to do this through Tx 'process purchase order' (BBP_POC) in SRM and it is properly replicated to backend - meaning PO in MM is updated with new cost assigment
    However for this limit order the changes I have made in BBP_POC seems not to be replicated into backend and hence on goods receipt it still shows the old assigment.
    Anyone an idea of cause for this?

    1) Are you seeing any errors in rz20.
    2) You may consider transferring the PO again to the backed using the function module BBP_PD_PO_TRANSFER_EXEC.
    3) If you see any account assignment errors , check the account assignment in SRM and ERP PO are the same or as mapped in the table BBP_C_ACC

    There is no direct way to link document type and account assignment category.
    But you can try this which is close.
    --> One is through Personal setting in PO screen.
    Can be done at Personal Setting TAB in application toolbar( extreme right side) in the PO (ME21N) screen.
    Click default value
    PO header , enter your PO document type &
    PO item, enter acc. ***. Cat. K
    & Save.
    The other way is controlling through the item category, maintain only one account assignment category for your item category in SPRO > Materials Management > Purchasing > Account Assignment > Define combination of item category/account assignment category.

    Our customer has a requirement to modify the account assignment category when the item category is set to "D" services on a PR and PO line item. This scenario is specific to indirect procurement scenarios in SAP ECC 6.0 MM.
    End users may potentially create a PR against a service item category with an incorrect account assignment category. These PRs are created using free form text. No service master exists in these scenarios. During the approval process or during PO creation, an approver or the buyer may need to correct the account assignment category. The account assignment category is "display" only and cannot be modified when the item category is set to "D". The user must delete the line item and create a new line item with the correct account assignment category. The copy function cannot be used because the account assignment copies from the existing line and cannot be modified.
    Any recommendations to this issue using standard SAP configuration solutions?

    Item Category to Account Assignment Category combination is already configured. For Service Item Category, we have three account assignment categories configured. All three categories are valid in different scenarios. Sometimes the user selects the incorrect account assignment category (out of the three available) depending on the business scenario. PT9F configuration is already set to Account Assignment category "optional". However, the account assignment category still cannot be modified on the PR when the item category is "D" service.
    Any other recommendations?

    We have implemented workflow WS14000044(Completion by Purchaser) and
    WS14500015(Item-Based Main WF).
    At workflow WS14500015 level, when the approver changes the product
    category, the vendor name is deleted.The previous validation allows the
    PO creation , But the PO is created without vendor.
    Furthermore under transaction process purchase orders 'BBP_POC' the
    purchaser can not access in change mode to the vendor field in order to
    add a vendor.
    How can we give access in change mode to the vendor field for purchaser in transaction 'BBP_POC' ?

  • Account assignment not updated in SRM's shopping cart when changes are made in ERP's PO - Classic Scenario

    Hello!
    A customer has classic scenario and creates shopping carts using only cost center as account assignments in SRM.
    When the PO is created in ERP's backend, sometimes a purchaser changes the account assignment to Asset("A").
    The account assignment changed in ERP is not reflecting in the shopping cart and the result is that the requester can not make a goods receipt in SRM because the account assignment does not match the PO.
    Does anybody knows what shall be done so the account assignment in SRM is updated according to ERP?
    Shall I use BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI?

    Hi Karin,
    As Mithun rightly said, the changes made to the PO will not be reflected in the SC not just in Classic but in Extended Classic Scenario as well.
    We create a Confirmation against a PO and not against SC, so it is not necessary that the SC needs to be updated.
    Is the system allowing the creation of the Confirmation or is the error coming up when the confirmation is being posted on the backend system?
    Can you check the SLG1 in SRM for the error that it is triggering when the PO is changed?

    Hi Shailesh,
    As you have maintained the account assignment category as U the account assignment tab will not be available. If you want to enter a GL account then use the Account assignments K or F or X.
    Else if you want to use U in PO then you can give the GL account and other account assignment details only in the Invoice verification.
