Configuration Detailed Level Navigation

Hi guys,
Does anyone know if it's possible to replace the words "Detailed Navigation" of the Tray's header to the name of a workset/folder that is at the 2nd-level navigation? (through configuration at portal)

Hi,
Yes, it is possible !
From the 'Content Administration' ->Portal Catalog->Portal Content ->Portal Users ->Standard Portal Users ->Default Framework Page ->Desktop Innerpage ->Detailed Naviagtion iView.
Replace the text 'Detailed Navigation' against the property 'Name'. Save the changes.
Hope this helps !

  • Customize detail level navigation

    Hi,
    I want to create my own detail level navigation(dln) iview. I need to have the same functionality of the standard dln iview with minor changes.
    So my question is : Is there any par file provided by sap so that I can extend or simply reuse it.
    Next question is :
    From which jar files I can get the following classes.
    com.sapportals.common.PPLogger;
    com.sapportals.common.TracingConsts;
    com.sapportals.portal.useragent.IUserAgent;
    com.sapportals.portal.useragent.IUserAgentService;
    Thank you very much for the time.
    Best Regards,
    Shiva

    Hi Shiva,
    EP provides bak files for many of its UI, like masterhead,TLN etc. Like that it also provides the bak file for detailed navigation area.The par file is
    com.sap.portal.navigation.detailedtree.par.bak
    U can get this par file from server System Admin>>Support>>Portal Runtime>>Browse deployment>>WEB-INF>>Deployment>>pcd.
    Import this par file into ur NWDS and edit it accordingly.
    Hope this helps

  • Regarding the detailed level navigation theme change

    Dear Experts,
    I am using Light Detailed Level Navigation iview .And in the theme if I make change for the backgrond color of the theme related to DLN its not reflecting for the entire tray .For some part of the dln the changed color is reflecting(where and all links appears) in the other parts its showing the default color.
    Can someone help me in this regard.
    Thanks,
    Regards,
    Rudradev

    Hi Sunil,
    Do you really want to place the image at the right side of the TLN - or at the header (which is different)?
    In the first case, there is a mixture of JavaScript and JSPs (containing JS) which build up the TLN, and this is quite complicated to understand (at least too complicate for a SDN thread). You would have to work through the code and try to modify it carefully.
    In the secondd case, you are touching the wrong PAR, but you would know the right one (as you opened a different thread about such a modification).
    Alternatively, you could try to use the light framework page, using the navigation tag library. This way, it is more easy to design your own UI, including the nav functionality.
    Hope it helps

  • Detailed Level Navigation missing post NW 7.31 portal SP12 upgrade

    Hi,
    We are on NW 7.31 portal . We have recently upgraded portal from SP 9 to SP12. Post upgrade the the detailed level navigation panel is missing . I have checked the role and workset setting and its absolutely fine. Any idea what might be the issue? It was visible before upgrade.
    Regards,
    Navya

    Hi Navya,
    When you click on a link for an SCA file you see on the right side a yellow icon, that's the dependency calculation tool, it will automatically tell you the dependend components.
    In this case:
    Notice you have a download button on the right side for each SCA.
    Hope this helps,

  • Detailed Level Navigation Missing

    When we have upgraded Portal (NW2004s) from SP13 to SP14 we were not able to see the Detailed level Navigation in Production environment, that was working fine in Development and Test environments; Also the content area was missing because of the upgrade.
    Can anyone throw some light on this?

    HI,
    Please confirm that your Portal framework in production environment contains Innerpage->detail level navigation iview in that. If not then u have to import that from dev server.
    Same you can check for the Content Area whether framework contains Content Area iview.

    Hi,
    We have faced a similar problem earlier, one of the developers changed the property to 0. Luckily for us, one of the user id has got Content Administrator as the first tab, so we could change the iview template and got the TLN. Check this option.
    The following is a theoritical idea only, i have not implemented this
    Download "com.sap.portal.navigation.toplevel.par.bak" and change the code. Check out this link
    https://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/42/fd515a2aa95277e10000000a1553f7/content.htm
    You have to change the code as
    levels=2;
    before this line
    if(levels>0)
    { %>
    Take a backup of the existing TLN par and upload the edited one with the same name. Then try login and see whether you are able to get the contents, update the property back to 2.
    Note : try to upload the necessary jar files in NWDS.

  • Create link in detailled level navigation after creating BSP iview

    Hi All,
    I have created few bsp iview in portal. After assigning these iview to role, a create link is unnecessary visible in detailled navigation.
    I would like to hide it.
    I have tried to play with iview properties but no luck
    please advice.
    Regards
    Shashwat Gupta

    Dear Shashwat,
    Try assigning BSP iview or page directly to roles and test it.
    Also check in page or workset properties to hide from detailed navigation instead of iview itself.
    Search in to help.sap.com
    Hope it will helps

  • How to merge top level navigation into detail navigation panel.

    Hi All,
    I want to add all the contents of top level navigation into detail navigation panel and  remove top level navigation.I am looking for the code with which i can shift the top level navigation to detail level navigation.

    You could edit the top-level navigation iview and set the <b>Number of Display levels</b> property's value to 0.
    you can reach the Top-level navigation iview by going through the following path
    1) <b>Content Administration --> Portal Content --> Content Provided by SAP --> Admin Interfaces --> Top-level navigation</b>
    However, note that once you do this the whatever menus that are available in the top level will not be available anymore.
    Maybe, you could copy the standard Top-level navigation into a framework page that you have created and then make the change. After doing so, you can assign it to groups/roles you want. This will ensure that the CONTENT/SYSTEM/USER administrators see the normal portal framework and specific user groups alone dont see the Top level navigation..

  • Top level navigation to be re organized to come in one page

    Dear SDN,
    I have one requirement. I want to change the Portal Theme in such a way that Top level navigation to be re organized to come in one page istead of scrolling left or right. Suppose the user having more than 20 roles then he shouldnt be scrolling more times to left or right for the roles, thats why we want that in one page.
    Can anybody please help me to solve this. Is there any way where we can set all roles visible in one page??
    Thanks & Regards,
    Nikesh Shah.

    Nukesh
    I have given you the link above.
    You should read it
    There is a step wise procedure for how can you set Navigation Level to 0.
    I. Configure Top-Level Navigation
           1.      In the Portal Catalog choose Portal Users-> Standard Portal Users. This folder contains the Default Framework Page.
           2.      Right-click Default Framework Page and choose Open ->Object.
           3.      From the Page Content List, select the Top-Level Navigation iView and click Properties.
           4.      In the Navigation property category, scroll to the Number of Display Levels property and enter the value 0, 1, or 2, depending on how many navigation levels, if any, you want for top-level navigation.
    Choosing 0 removes top-level navigation and displays your navigation structure in the Detailed Navigation iView.
           5.      Click Save.
    II. Configure Detailed Navigation
           1.      From the Page Content List of the Default Framework Page, select Desktop Innerpage and click Open.
           2.      From the Page Content List of the Desktop Innerpage select the Detailed Navigation iView and click Properties.
           3.      In the Navigation property category, scroll to the Start at Level property and assign a value that is one higherthan the value of the Number of Display Levels property in procedure l. Configure Top-Level Navigation. For example, if top-level navigation is configured for one level, the detailed navigation begins on the second level, that is with the value 2.
    Detailed navigation is not automatically synchronized with top-level navigation; the values that you enter for top-level and detailed navigation must agree. For example, if you enter the value 1 for top-level navigation, while detailed navigation still has the value 3, one level is left out, creating a gap.
           4.      Click Save.
    III. Configure the Content Area
           1.      From the Page Content List of the Desktop Innerpage, select the Content Area iView and click Properties.
           2.      In the Navigation property category, scroll to the Number of Display Levels in TLN property and enter the same value as that of the Number of Display Levels property in procedure I. Configure Top-Level Navigation.
           3.      Click Save.
    Thanks...

  • IView from second level navigation merged with Other page

    Hi All,
    I encountered a typical problem with iViews.
    I have second level navigation with links as AAA,BBB,CCC (work sets) added to the Role-1.
    CCC is a work set which is been added with pages CCC-1,CCC-2,CCC-3. (CCC-1,CCC-2,CCC-3 are also added to detailed level navigation).
    Now on clicking of CCC (second level navigation link), I have page displaying with CCC-1 (which is working as desired).
    Now I have page DDD wh.ich is directly to the Role-1. Hence now second level navigation is displaying as AAA,BBB,CCC,DDD on clicking on Role -1 .
    Now when I click on CCC, while displaying the contents of CCC-1, DDD (page) is also displaying beneath of the CCC-1.
    I don't want this DDD merging with CCC-1.
    Can any one help me, how to resolve this issue.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Chinna.

    Hi,
    Just a thought : you could create a new workset and put DDD in it and see if that helps.

  • How to Display Detailed navigation passing Top level navigation node name

    Hi All,
    I have prepared a DLN par file but unfortunatly my requirement is such that I need to pass one of the toplevel node name as input parameter and that should display the corresponding DLN which is from 3rd level.
    I have checked in sdn for passing a value to the navigation tag lib which will consider it as a selectednode but could find none.
    Can some body suggest me how to acheive this.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Sai Krishna. K

    Hi Kiran,
    Thanks for your Reply..
    Following is my Scenario:
    I use 2 same versions of portals connected via federated portal concept.
    I have my detailed navigation par file in portal2 and was calling it from portal1 from a iview.
    Since I am not physically navigating in portal2(which mean there is no selected node to iterate ), when I call that iview in portal1 it is picking up only 1st node in top level navigation.
    So i need to pass "My reports" (as 1st level) & "India" (as 2nd level) as parameters such that it gets only its DTN at all times from 3rd level.
    Hope you understand my scenario, below is my iteration code logic.
    <div id="myslidemenu" class="jqueryslidemenu">
    <ul>
         <nav:iterateSelectedNavNodesLevel level="<%=START_LEVEL%>">
         <%-- the 'currentDepth' attribute provides the byte value of the current level --%>
        <nav:recurseNavNodeChildren currentDepth="depth">
             <% current = start + depth.intValue() - 1; %>
             <%=writeClosingTags(last - current)%>
             <%
            last = current;
            %>
            <%-- we want to distinguish between folder and leaf nodes so we can use different graphics --%>
              <%-- complete the html syntax for the 'class' attribute pass it as an anchor attribute--%>
              <li><nav:navNodeAnchor navigationMethod="byURL" />
              <%-- checks for additional navigation level and the appropriate html tags to accomodate them --%>
            <nav:ifNextRecursionDepthWillIncrease>
                <ul>
            </nav:ifNextRecursionDepthWillIncrease>
            <nav:ifNextRecursionDepthWillNotChange>
                </li>
            </nav:ifNextRecursionDepthWillNotChange>
        </nav:recurseNavNodeChildren>
        <%=writeClosingTags(last - start)%>
        <% last = start; %>
    </nav:iterateSelectedNavNodesLevel>
    </ul>
    </div>
    As per the passing parameter concept please explain me a bit more clear with step by step procedure.
    <b>Here if not passing parameters, providing static values will also do for my requirement.</b>
    Many Thanks,
    Sai Krishna.

  • Navigating from detail level column in an hierarchy  to another report

    I have a requirement as folllows:
    In one report,i have a drill-down feature enabled on "TIME DIM".
    At The detail level of this dimension is "DAY" column.
    SO,from this detail level,when i click on "DAY" column, navigation should be done to another report..
    Is it possible to navigate so from detail report..
    pls let me know the solution for this requirement..
    thanks,
    seeusass

    Instead of Drill down,Give Navigation in first report to child report.But for this you need to create n reports if you are having n number of levels in hierarchy.Then at the detail level report you can give navigation at day level.
    Thanks
